A Soggy Moss Gathers No Grass, Or Something Like That
Santana Moss says he will try to to accomplish a little more on the practice field this week, beginning today, but still is very unsure about being able to play. His hamstring is not at a point where he can run explosively, and the rain and slick field has made the player and the team even more cautious about doing too much during practice time.
Will post more after practice, but it seems like Santana will be on the field for all of practice this week, but probably not do real drills until later in the week, if then.
Fauria has a walking boot on his left ankle.
Not sure if Cooley and Jansen will practice fully, but practice starts at 2:15.
Cheers.

i think we should not rush him back. he has had problems with it before hes been pretty durable here let him heal and come back 100 percent. We are deep at WR we should be able to manage. We still need to try and pound the rock more and more and more and play some smashmouth football

Fauria has a walking boot on his left ankle.
Let's hope he won't be asked to whiff...I mean block anyone come Sunday.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm we need a HOT topic to jump start this race. i can't think of anything.
let's see...hmmmmm...jason, who has the most sculpted body in the locker room?
no...not that
who'll still marry Britney?
if you had a choice of a head coach, gm (other than gibbs) who would it be?
if you could be the GM what trades would you like to make?
no, too sporty.
hey, jim webb is leading allen!(son of george allen)
no, too politicky.

haha how about Archuleta getting certain packages. He is getting the LaVar packages which means they may try and make him miserable to get out of here alah Arrington. Archuleta said something about cover skills in an interview what cover skills he hasnt covered anyone since he has been here. Archuletacatchem he better be able to tackle since his man always catches the ball
Posted by: ih8dallas | November 8, 2006 2:32 PM
when they start talking packages i think it means trouble for the player they are talking about unless it is a rookie they are slowly bringing along but not a high price free agent. Slowly highway 99 Andre Carter is improving i think if you put a better linebacker behind him that side of the defense would improve

"Fauria has a walking boot on his left ankle."
Oh... I wondered where it actually hurt when someone -- say like a defensive lineman -- repeatedly stole your pride and stomped on it.
Apparently it hurts in your left foot and/or ankle. Thanks Jason.
Sorry I've been AWOL, guys. Work's got me busy... imagine that!

How bout Denny Green for GM when the Cards can him. He's (& whatever staff he uses for talent evaluation) proven he has an eye for drafting talent but his ability to put that talent to use is left wanting.
Posted by: Flayed | November 8, 2006 3:02 PM
We cannot rush little Santanna back before he is ready. Hamstrings aren't like other injuries where you can just play though it. If you can't make it 'go', you just can't. It's not a question of toughness.
My #1 female sports reporter is easily Lindsay Czarniak (no idea how to spell) on Channell 4. Wow. Saw her in person at a comedy show and was blown away. Like, all I could do was laugh nervously and sweat...
Archubingus will be in packages...Grilliams says that when he doesn't like what you are about (Lavar last year).

I know CMT and BET still play videos. Do they still make rock videos? MTV is out of that business, right?
The best videos of all time were made by Twisted Sister. I Wanna Rock is a classic. Quiet Riot had some good ones, too.

Amazingly, it seems like CMT and BET are much closer in programming and even lifestyles, while Mtv has been taken over by the kids that used to get beat up in high school.

1) The 'You Got What I Need' Video is just outstanding.
2) I would like to submit 'My Mind is Playing Tricks on Me' by the Ghetto Boyz.
3) If we are going to discuss lyrics, it is just plain irresponsible to not mention the WU TANG CLAN.

Jason, Haggard is great. Mama Tried is one of my all time favs. Sign me up for anything by Willie and/or Waylon, too.
I will say, however, don't be too quick to judge country acts from the last couple decades. You have to separate the good from the bad, but I suspect you had to do that back in Merle's day, also.
Clint Black and Alan Jackson are terrific song writers and stay true to the genre.

ArtMonktotheSticks, where can you see the weakness of a man?
Quick EPL note. I was in Paris a number of years back and I happened to watch the French League playoffs and the team from Marseille was young (AMTTS and Governor term for terrible, beat up, awful, bamafied) but somehow they were staying in the game because of a large dude who was playing up top by himself. Imagine Sean Taylor, but playing offense in soccer. He single handedly took this lousy team to the championship game. I said "That dude is the tightness. I guarantee you he becomes a super star." His name was Didier Drogba. True story.
Wu-Tang double CD, you don't even need to go to summer school.
I am from Compton.

My contention is that cowboy fans love LL Cool J because he is a bama.
iggles fans heart bubba sparks and bon jovi's new stuff.

The 10k post should be about the Skins. Remember this lil' bloggy way back in training camp when all was right with the world, we were gonna kick butt this season, and Britney & K-Fedup were still together?

This quest for 10K has been a shabingus...
isn't that what this blog is all about? Mocking others, hating on our rivals, making up nicknames (Archubingus, Gardner, Rod, Grilliams etc.), and using terminology?
I heart this blog.

I feel giddy right about now after talking up some real music.
The Giants are not looking healthy right now on both sides of the ball, Dallas is reeling, and the Eagles are reeling. We have an excellant chance on catching up for the 2nd half of the season.....
2nd half predictions - NO, NY, and Carolina all have 3-5 or worse records and we sneak in, but use the front door. Remember, we still have to play Philly (2x), ATL, CAR, NO, and NY. Our season is far from over, but we need to take it one game at a time........

While I think that Miami should not play this weekend, what I really cannot believe is that they practiced today.

up here....we are all super smart bloggers, and for us, thats real important. if i have to go through something like this, i'm glad i'm going through it with the guys/girls we have here.
Posted by: kelli johnson's bath towel | November 8, 2006 5:11 PM
In any case, I'd say that a decision like that should be left up to the team captains. Though I doubt anyone on that team has the maturity to have earned that type of captain role.
What a shame. This years performance be damned, Miami needs a serious overhaul.

wow! that's shoking cindy. it seems to me that they don't have their priorities straight.
i wonder if jason will ask CP or moss about this.
Posted by: dealer | November 8, 2006 5:13 PM
Thanks Cindy and Dealer. I love sports just as much as the next person. But nothing should take the place of a human life. To me it just show bad taste and a lack of respect for human life. Thanks for letting me express that.
Posted by: jm220 | November 8, 2006 5:15 PM
Don't you guys (WashPost) have a college football insider for that convo?
Oh yeah, They SHOULD play. Didn't the NFL play after 9/11? Didn't Reggie Wayne play after his bro got kilt? I read Smoot's brother died this week also.......
I think you play for him and to get back to do something normal which everyone who dies should want from the living......
Posted by: 4th | November 8, 2006 5:17 PM
i'm gonna be going away...for a bit...
but 4th: I think you play for him and to get back to do something normal which everyone who dies should want from the living......
these are KIDS. i rember when i was their age. i didn't know what death is. and neither do these kids. yes, they've probly seen death in their lives but trust me they don't know what it means for a life to end. i was 10 when i saw someone die in front of me. the body was still moving. you think i thought about death when i was in my early 20's, teenager? no. in my personal experience i didn't know what life or end of life was until i helped create a life. for others it might be different.
in this case they can't let kids/captains make that decision. grown ups, if there are any in this case, should step up and say this is a BIG DEAL boys.
as for 9-11, let's not go there. a whole different story.
sorry to cut this short.
peace out!
Posted by: dealer | November 8, 2006 5:32 PM
The NFL took the weekend off after 9/11. It moved the Redskins game against the Cards to the end of the season.
The NFL failed to do that when JFK was shot. The commish at the time, Pete Rozelle, said he regretted that decision.
As for college football, when a member of the team dies, I think it's appropriate to cancel a game. A couple years ago the OK St basketball team lost some (all?) of their players in a plane crash. I think they canceled the season.
NCAA football may be more professional than people want to acknowledge, but these are still very young men. They should give them a break.

Congratulations MV and now on to 100K! Dealer get those fingers in shape!
EU - Doing tha Bump! WOOO
Best song title and some excellent lyrics - "I left my wallet in El Segundo"
Now back to futball - Moss should rest his hammy we need him and we have a gajillion dollars invested in other receivers who managed well enough against the cowpaddies.

Megskin,
I heard Springs was engaged the end of last season but have heard nothing about it since.....maybe the engagement was cancelled...or maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part.
Posted by: Lisa | November 8, 2006 5:54 PM
I guess it really depends on the situation. I was just thinking if I was on the team, I think I would want to play because I would like to rip some one's head off right about now, and playing on the field will let me do that. We all handle death different, but I've been too many funerals/known too many young people who died, you start to become numb...
These kids are not really KIDS. Sorry to inform you, but those same age KIDS are dying everyday in Iraq and Afganistan. It is unfortunette what happened, very. But, this should be (as the team looks back) a learning experince for everyone involved.
Life's a *itch, then you die. That's why I get h*igh, cuz you never know when you gonna go.......
Posted by: 4th | November 8, 2006 5:57 PM
oh yeah - Joe, If my memory serves me correct. The NFL did not move any games, AT ALL. Can someone please confirm?
Posted by: 4th | November 8, 2006 6:01 PM
Hey all. Thanks for the congratulations. Really, though, you all need to thank yourselves. We ALL typed our guts out. Yes, of course, I'll stake my claim to the title of 10,000th poster, but I don't need anything else.
Dealer, the book is yours. Cindy, hook 'm up!
Joe in Raleigh, yeah I'm glad that one won, too. I was pretty pleased with it. Feel a little empty though that H-Man ain't around to share in the festivities.
100k by Draft day, Cindy? No sweat.
JLC, best blog ever.
Period.
Posted by: MV Dame | November 8, 2006 6:13 PM
4th, I see your point of view and I recognize that death is something we all face.
However, a football player that's murdered and a soldier giving his life in service for his country cannot be compared. While they may be the same age, one is a terrible tragedy while the other is the ultimate sacrifice for one's country. These are very, very different.
I agree, it should be a learning experience. So give them a week off to learn from it and reflect. The business of making money for the Hurricane football program can wait 1 lousy week.
Posted by: Joe in Raleigh | November 8, 2006 6:18 PM
Wasn't the season extended a week? Obviously, the last game before the attacks was played Sept. 10 (a Monday) and the next game played was on Sept. 23, a Sunday. The last week of the regular season was a Monday night game Jan. 7. The Super Bowl was pushed back a week, being played in Feb. for the first time. The league decided that they liked it that way.

I feel ya Joe. Death is one of the hardest things in life.....
From L Cooker - We will be playing @ College PArk this weekend.....
Posted by: 4th | November 8, 2006 6:25 PM
4th they did push it back a week. Everyone handles death in their own way. I respect your opinion. However, we all learn to love life and the importance of life. Then maybe we wouldn't be so quick to kill one another or jump off to war.
Let's get back to talking football. I didn't mean to change the topic. It just hard to see how the world look at death with no feelings or meaning.

I am proud that my nickname "manboobs" made it into the 10K post as as it being in Limerick form which I recommended Haikuman to do in my stead for lacking creativity. This was a team win here though. Up here, there are no losers. Except Boofer. He lives in the trailer park with his mom and 42 cats. Loser.
Posted by: Dorf | November 8, 2006 6:42 PM
So let me get this straight, while I was off....um....doing whatever it is I do that is so secret that I'm not even allowed to know what it is I am doing....you guys blew thru 10K?
I could say I was robbed, but I'd rather bask in the glow of the 10K post being a poem! (Well done, MV Dame -- you're like the son I never knew I had nor would claim if I did!)
-Old Man voice-"I remember the day when this blog had NO class. No literary sense whatsoever. Might as well been posting in green crayon, I tell ya. It's amazing what one 17 syllable post will do to a blog, but you wouldn't know that, you young wippersnappers. We haiku-ed uphill both ways, and had to rhyme with nuthin' but the clothes on our backs and the rags on our feet. But now, well, the Bard himself would be proud, if he twerent dead."
Long live the blog haiku -- if you can't say it in 17 syllables, you're jawing too much. Unless you need to rhyme it. Than that's ok, but please step it up and not use 'be' at the end of every line? To quote the Queen..."mmmkay?"
Posted by: HaikuMan | November 8, 2006 7:08 PM
all I have to say is that if you look at the history of music, and you combind the lyrics then you would see that Iron maiden tops in vidios, music, and words all in one. They also know how to play together, which is what a lot of modern bands forgoten how to do.... But thats besids the point, what happened, this is supposed to be a blog on the skins, not this other ramblingof different thing. Oh and by the way go dems!!!!! And to end on a high note, I think the skins will win all but one, with the final game againce the giants to see who takes the division. my two cents
any spelling eror is for my drunkness in celibrating the vic. that the skins won this pat sunday. can't ask for a better win... expesilly againce the one team I hate more then any... The cowgirls!!!!!!!

Bizzare Ride To The Pharcyde is a great album. Del can bring it, too.
Das EFX, one hit wonders, but damn, They want EFx was huge back in the day.
Loves EU and Rare Essence, and my brother is a dj and puts out a lot of Bmore club music in his label. I grew up on that stuff but have to say I can't stomach it anymore.
Speaking of DC music. Anyone listen to Basehead back in the day? Had one album on Imago, Play With Toys, that was pretty solid.
Thanks for the race to 10,000, but up here, our work is not done. Still got half a season and we have to take this one comment at a time.
