Daniels Not Looking Good/Who's Really To Blame?

Phillip wasn't even taking part in the stretching. Looks like he still can't put any weight on the sprained foot. Very rarely will any player on this team play in a game after missing practice all week. I'd have to imagine Demetric Evans starts at this point but we'll see...

TCCLs, Anyone?

TCCLs are back, at least for this week, for all the old-school peeps out there. If you don't know, you better ask somebody (in the comments): 10 TCCLs - Chris Samuels - Didn't need to take a play off while shutting down Jason Taylor despite missing all that time. Flew...

Injury Update

Fox, Daniels and Prioleau did not take part in full practice activities. Portis was rested in certain segments as well, but, after what he did Sunday, can't blame them for that. other than that it's all good. Gibbs said Fox, Daniels and Prioleau are all day to day at this...

We're Talking About Practice?

Looked like everybody was practicing except for Daniels (foot), who was in pads but riding a bike. He is pretty confident he will be able to play Monday. Even Cody Body, who missed practice last week with a neck/shoulder ailment, was back. And Shawn Springs was practicing a No. 56...

Web Chat at 11 on Washingtonpost.com

In the words of spunky Pat Benatar, hit me with your best shot. I am predicting a boatload of Shawn Springs questions, and stuff about the corners. We shall see. UPDATE: I can't get into my email right now - we are rebooting the server I am told, whatever that...

Marcus Mason On the Squad

Marcus, a local kid and Georgetown Prep product, just left Redskins park having signing his practice squad deal. He passed through waivers today. However, he is still essentially a free agent. Spoke to two NFL execs today who said they strongly considered making a waiver claim on Marcus, having scouted...

Omar Is Back, As Expected

Safety Omar Stoutmire gets the roster spot vacated by Marcus Mason being released. Signed today. He is insurance this week against a team that will throw the heck out of the ball with two safties (Vernon Fox and Pierson Prioleau) trying to get back from injuries suffered Sunday....

Guest Blog AEE

Heard from AEE yesterday but just got a chance to post his guest blog today. Here it is: With the news that the Skins might be signing Mr. Reche Caldwell in the next few hours. Something came to mind. #1. B. Lloyd showing his true colors against Miami. And #2....

Safety Dance

Bubba Tyer said it's too soon to know for sure how safeties Vernon Fox (groin) and Peirson Prioleau (hamstring) will respond to practice, but he would say Prioleau's injury looks less severe if you mde him choose. With that in mind, the Skins are talking to safety Omar Stoutmire, league...

Other Moves

The Skins needed to create an extra roster spot for another move, so they have released Marcus Mason - from what I imagine they really hope he clears waivers so they can put him back on the practice squad because - ... they also released LB Anthony Trucks from the...

Reche Caldwell Says A Deal With The Skins "looks really good."

Caldwell just told me he had a great visit here and thinks he will sign very shortly. Just waiting on a few details, he said, but he is ready to go. When I offered "congratulations," he said, "Thanks." And not, "well, we don't have a deal yet," or any of...

Reche Caldwell in the building

He came in for visit today and has been hanging around the building making a lot of phone calls. Several teams wanted him and he's here, so that's got to be a good sign for Skins fans. He can play and they've been desperate for a WR for a long...

What To Do Vs. McNabb?

I know the pass-happy coaches in Philly have to thinking about picking on the corners Monday, especially if Springs is the nickel and if the Skins continue to play mostly Cover-3 (though they also played a lot more Cover-2 than I expected on a lot of third downs and...

Jansen Speaks .. So Does Wade

Jon just did a conference call with us. It was pretty gruesome. He will have surgery this week, either Wed. or Thursday and will be out probably 4 months. Said he is unsure if he will be placed on IR right away, ending his season, but seemed to expect the...

Monday Afternoon H-Back

General observations: Portis and Samuels were huge. To play that well - and that well in the fourth quarter on a muggy day against a legit D no less - was something to see. The Redskins wanted this game more late and, to their credit, rode the two tailbacks. This...

Inactives

A few surprises: CB David Macklin - they really like Torrence and Torrence has become big on special teams, so not a huge surprise OL - Todd Wade - has a bad shoudler so that might be part of it RB Marcus Mason - going with just 3 RBs and...

How Many Carries for CP?

If it's me and I am facing this defense in this heat in this game, I am riding Betts. He was the second most productive back in the NFL in the final 7-8 weeks of last season and he's in great shape and worked hard all preseason. I'd use him...

Oh, Happy Day!

Jasno will greet you from FedEx, but first, let's do our little Boren Penumtimatum victory dance. You guys are unbelievable. I figured we'd hit it this morning, but you guys were on a mission last night. You're all MVPs and thanks to you, we reached the Boren Penultimatum at 11:56...
