Nice signing, I'm guessing he'll wear Lloyd's number and use his locker ... since that jerk should be getting tossed out about now ...

No more University of Florida receivers!
Posted by: John | September 11, 2007 3:33 PM
And we were complaining that Jason wasn't paying attention to us. What an update.
Posted by: Dorf | September 11, 2007 3:34 PM
Solid move...IF they didnt overpay1

The skins should go after Antonio Bryant. He may be a jerk but he is way more talented than every receiver on our roster except Moss.

13-D.

jason, now your mission is to find out if and when they're putting #85 on inactive list indeffinitely.
and all will be forgiven :)

From the last thread:
I got a fix to the B.Lloyd problem that I think everybody will like. Lets put him on the 2nd string O in practice and have him constanly run across the middle against the Reaper and L2, then I would guess by the end of the week he is either on the IR or quits.
Also, on the sportsline power rankings, where do we fall, that site is blocked here?

And why don't we go get Tank Johnson and Pacman Jones while we're at it?
Posted by: Turds | September 11, 2007 3:39 PM
Lloyd just needs a little motivation from his teammates. Something like what "Gomer Pyle" got in Full Metal Jacket.
Posted by: LH | September 11, 2007 3:39 PM
4-12, wait, werent we all happy that ShEli is out as well as Jacobs?
Im not cheering, I just said its a good thing as he was their big FA defensive pickup... and F any cowboy. If Darrell Green had gone there I would say F to him... but he didnt so he is still the greatest redskin of all time IMHO

17th on sportsline.
24th on foxsports. (we actually dropped a spot and the dolphins got 1 spot higher go figure.)

Round and round it goes, where it stops, nobody knows ...
Next question(s): Where will Leftwich land (and how did Seattle sign Charlie Frye and not Leftwich?)? And WHO bought Michael Vick's Virginia house?
Posted by: dcsween | September 11, 2007 3:40 PM
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR LLOYD??
Posted by: Greg | September 11, 2007 3:41 PM
Oh, I forgot, Leftwich to the Giants (or, at least, Eli's injury is the reason why the Seahawks moved for Frye when they did).
Posted by: dcsween | September 11, 2007 3:42 PM
Jasno,
We need some answers from the coaching staff on Springs and Lloyd. What happens with these guys over the next couple days/weeks/months?
Posted by: Ricky Bobby | September 11, 2007 3:44 PM
no no more jerks at WR we had enough of that. This FO seems to be sorta redeming itself
Posted by: peter | September 11, 2007 3:44 PM
Learned Hand, funny, funny.
I was really hoping Byron Lefkowitz would be coming home to DC?

He'll stink the joint up just like me
Posted by: Brandon Lloyd | September 11, 2007 3:45 PM
Does JLC even read these posts? I can't take this anymore, it's people just writing their thought which no one cares about or people trying to be funny and aren't. I'm out douches!

Huge mistake not trading brunell to hou for A. Johnson. I think that kid's going to have a breakout year. He'll easily be a #1 wr in a couple years.

the foxsports ranking is pretty funny. From 21 on down, only the Lions and Skins won in week 1. And then they include the Portis bandwagon comment. foxsports isn't on it ... Skins still have a lot to prove. Use the hate CP, Use the hate!!
Posted by: AL | September 11, 2007 3:49 PM
Ah, actually I don't think we really need the sort of hemming and hawing answers we'd get from the Park about either of these players, Ricky Bobby.
When we're in a frenzy of anxious sturm und drang speculation like this, we have a way of winding ourselves up even more when we get any quote; no matter what Gibbs or anybody is trying to say, it's always fuel for our little fire up here.
(I get bored with these zero-sum little melodramatic interludes, but they do help us get past the Boren Milestones...)

Carr and Johnson tore it up last weekend. Brunell's stock down, A. Johnson's stock up.

I heard Snoop Dogg did.

Periculum's "Priest" Prediction:
Jason's comment about Joe Gibbs as an "arch conservative" means he is, of course, too young to remember George Allen and apparently not anywhere around during Marty Ball. Gibbs was the offensive coordinator during "Air Coryell". Effectively using both Jim Hart AND Dan Fouts. He was anything BUT conservative. Meanwhile the Redskins were mired in Allen's conservative mindset. NO risks NO mistakes.
In Gibb's defense I think Jason is overlooking the key factor between Gibb's playing "conservative" versus Gibbs taking more
than a few calculated risks: THE QUARTERBACK. If the quarterback is Jim Ray Hart, Dan Fouts, Doug Williams, and eventually Rypien he takes some gambles. He tried to plug Theismann in for Fouts and failed and that led to 5 straight defeats.
The question Jason should ask is where is Jason Campbell by comparison? Not progressed far enough if the 2 int's are any indication. Conservative will be the rule for now.
That said what happens next Monday? This is a KEY DIVISION and CONFERENCE matchup against the best QB in the division and perhaps the league. Now, Saunders will pull a few tricks out of the bag to attempt to get an early lead and force McNabb to throw in the 4th quarter. Then things will get somewhat conservative as they allow the defense to see what they can do against McNabb and the Eagles.
EXPECT SPRINGS TO START THIS GAME probably over Rogers. Perhaps Smoot. Expect early offensive fireworks leading to lots of churning on the ground in the 2nd half if things go right. Expect lots of new defensive looks and blitzes.
OH and Lloyd is 2 small steps from being show the door.

Andre Johnson a #1 reciever in a few years? Are we talking about pro bowler Andre Johnson? I think he is already there.
The Texans trading him for Brunell? Who is your source? Larry, Moe, or Curly?

I know I missed something but what about the other dude they just signed right around the start of TC?
Posted by: Go Skins Go | September 11, 2007 4:03 PM
Happy to be here fellas! They just gave me #85!
Posted by: Reche Caldwell | September 11, 2007 4:17 PM
Looks like I am headed to Cleveland.
Posted by: Brnadon Lloyd | September 11, 2007 4:23 PM
I just got traded to the Argonauts for a six pack of Molson.
Posted by: Brandon Lloyd | September 11, 2007 4:32 PM
Anyone see the Peter King thing at SI.com? He thinks Randel El has arrived as a legit #2.
So, hopefully, we don't have to burn any picks on free agents, gamble on another Roddy-G type next year.
Afterall, didn't Saunders do pretty well in KC with Gonzalez and Eddie Friggin Kennison as his only true receivers?

Bring his bug eyes on!!! B-Lloyd is a bum
Posted by: SeanTay77 | September 11, 2007 4:39 PM
oh yeah, start printing the playoff tickets and making plans for Phoenix!!!
The redskins have signed reche caldwell, it is all over, the rest of the league doen't even need to bother playing
He is so much better than TO, now the redskins have the 2 best WRs in the NFL, the best defense on the NFL, the greatest safety tandem in NFL history and the greatest coach ever in any sport Mr Whiskers Gibbs

hahahahahahahahahaha.......maybe they could also trade jon jansen for Shawne Merrimen and Phillip Daniels for LaDainian Tomlinson
Posted by: the NFL | September 11, 2007 5:09 PM
I already am a #1 reciever, I have been to 2 Pro Bowls
Include Todd Wade along with Mark Brunell and we will throw in Mario Williams and we have a deal
Posted by: Andre Johnson | September 11, 2007 5:12 PM
Wow, if we were Houston and someone offered that deal we would do it in a heartbeat although we would also give them back a 2nd round pick as part of the package.
That is how you build a winning team---trade away young players and draft picks for over the hill scrubs
