Inactives
A few surprises:
CB David Macklin - they really like Torrence and Torrence has become big on special teams, so not a huge surprise
OL - Todd Wade - has a bad shoudler so that might be part of it
RB Marcus Mason - going with just 3 RBs and 1 FB and 1 TE, little thin to me. thought he would play, especialyl with Portis being out so long
DL Ryan Boshetti
DL Lorenzo Alexander
WR Shaun Bodiford - just got here, has a less than 100 percent knee
TE Cody Boyd - hurt
Brunell is third QB
So, Heyer makes the game day roster and Montgomery is in line to start, so the on-lin depth chart got that one right. Mea cupla.
Cheers.

chris Larry, you know the Skins coaching staff only moved Monty to start because J-La said he wasn't the starter. They want to spite him.

Random question... any of you guys know why 8 players have to listed as 'inactive' on sundays?
Posted by: Dante | September 9, 2007 12:41 PM
If it's me and I am facing this defense in this heat in this game, I am riding Betts. He was the second most productive back in the NFL in the final 7-8 weeks of last season and he's in great shape and worked hard all preseason.--JASNO
Consider this. The last 7-8 weeks of last year Bette was running behind a finely tooled machine. The starting OLine had played together long enough to mesh nicely.
However, this year's OLine isn't close to there yet, which means a back's individual skills are more critical. If the rust is gone and he's healthy, Portis is far and away the more individually skilled back. He's into his cuts faster, hits the hole quicker, and has burst enough to turn a short gain into a 20 yarder, or go to the house.
With that in mind, I ride Portis harder than I might were the line ready to go. If Portis still has rust, then the skins will be dependent on Betts, who may not be able to overcome the Oline's shortcomings--as was shown in the preseason.
With that thought in mind, I suspect the Skins will put the threat of the long ball in the minds of the Fish early, a deep bomblet or two to Moss and The Wide Reseiver. Don't expect TWR to be open or catch the ball, but the threat is what counts.
Also expect a lot of dink and dunk especially to Cooley and think the skins will run AT Taylor since that seems to be the way to approach the best pass rushers.
Should be a low scoring effort, and I think the D is tuned up enough to get it done. I expect they will begin to reverse last year's alarming turnover ratio right away, and that will be the key.

It was fairly obvious why having the NBA all-star game in Vegas was a bad idea... why does Britney Spears think that resurrecting her career there is a good idea? That's a train wreck waiting to happen.
I forgot Joey Porter was on the Fish's side. Taylor and Porter sort of scare me. Time to go to work Samuals.

Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:15 PM
jm220. There is a delay. On the fin's first series it was like 2 plays, then on the 2nd series they were just playing musac most of the time until the punt. better than nothing
Posted by: SP | September 9, 2007 1:16 PM
BTW, for the last few seasons, CBS only had the capability to broadcast three games in HD. Which, when you consider that the NFL is the single biggest driver of HDTV sales, is ludicrous. It appears they may have expanded their capacity this year.

The FedEx crowd is going nuts. Those two offensive offsides/motion penalties were earned by the crowd.

Jansen got rolled up from behind during the JC sack. It looks like his knee, and he looks to be in terrible pain and is being carted off.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:43 PM
He blew out his ACL, that's exactly how it happens, being hit from behind. If it's not ruptured, we'll be VERY lucky.

Oh, man. Jansen is done for the year.

It was Jansen's right leg. Which one did he bust the Achilles on two seasons ago?
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 1:44 PM
Oh, man. Jansen is done for the year.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 01:44 PM

Posted by: Dante | September 9, 2007 1:45 PM
That Manning Sprint commercial is idiotic.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:45 PM
Jansen, dislocated right ankle.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:46 PM
Diddy, that was not ineptitude in the RZ. They were moving the ball. [Bram says Jansen has dislocated ankle.] They went for the FG b/c replacing the tackle interrupts the momentum.
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 1:46 PM
cyn city: anyway someone who knows someone at red zebra can make a call on our behalf? some dude is defintely not doing his job at Trip x today. just tell them that they got jm all fired up, that should do it . . .
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 1:46 PM
Is that "better" or worse?
Posted by: Mike | September 9, 2007 1:47 PM
Dislocated right ankle? Sounds bad, but not as bad as a rupture ACL? Is there a doctor in the blog?
Posted by: HaikuMan | September 9, 2007 1:47 PM
Dislocated ankle OUCH! UGH!
Posted by: sfskin | September 9, 2007 1:47 PM
Oreo Pizza on the way. Full review coming soon.
Wine pairing suggestions?
:-)
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:47 PM
I dislocated my ankle two years ago and all I can say is that we won't be seeing Jansen on the field for a while. My ankle hurts just thinking about his recovery.
Posted by: Dorf | September 9, 2007 1:47 PM
Hell yeah they don't want to see me right now.
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 1:47 PM
Smoot is back in.

Dislocated ankle a season ender? Hope Wade gets better soon.

Whoever said "Trent Green 2007 = Mark Brunell 2006" is spot on.

Okay D let's dig in and push em back.

Damn it. D time to step up.
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 1:50 PM
Fumble! Redskins ball!
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:50 PM
AND A TURNOVER! SPRINGS RECOVERS!
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 1:50 PM
That's exactly what needs to happen: Defensive needs to seriously carry this team through at LEAST the bye week, and, now, with Jansen out, probably beyond that.
Posted by: HaikuMan | September 9, 2007 1:51 PM
First a sack! Now a fumble recovery! WOOO defense!
Why is Rogers out? And adonde este el receiver?
Posted by: sfskin | September 9, 2007 1:51 PM
I dislocated my ankle in February and I wasn't playing any sort of sport until at least June (not well mind you) wasn't full speed until Septemberish. Jansen probably has better doctors and rehab equipment than I did, but it'll be a long rode if the injury is similar.
Posted by: Dorf | September 9, 2007 1:51 PM
Skins are saying it's a dislocated ankle for Jansen.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 1:51 PM
XXX internet radio is missing plays - they missed the damn field goal. What's the score now? 17-10?

"No, he's not over the hill!"
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:51 PM

Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 1:51 PM
The Wide Receiver -- Lloyd, Brandon - has been on the field alot and open alot.
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 1:52 PM

Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 1:52 PM
HB Blades caused the fumble?
Posted by: Greg(boston) | September 9, 2007 1:52 PM
Does this mean that Jasno's going to have to get a new mantra? "They're no good. No turnovers."
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 1:52 PM
Rocky with the forced fumble. Springs with the recovery.
Well done. Very, very, very impressive, eh?
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:53 PM
A sack and a turnover already? Oh, Jasno!
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 1:53 PM
That sack is totally on JC. WTF? Throw the ball away.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:54 PM
Good balance in the play calling btw. I'm thinking Saunders may have figured out how to do this.
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 1:54 PM
Who has come in for Jansen?
Sorry for all the questions
Posted by: Greg(Boston) | September 9, 2007 1:54 PM
JC not sharp today at all.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 1:55 PM
JC blew that one. WAY overthrown to the wide open Moss.
Posted by: HaikuMan | September 9, 2007 1:55 PM
That sack was not check down/throw it out-able ... JC was up in the pocket so there was traffic on all sides. Brunell could throw out of bounds to avoid the sack last year b/c he never stepped up into the pocket.
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 1:56 PM
JC not sharp today at all.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 01:55 PM
I would have said he's not consistent. His first pass to Randle El was sharp. And was the INT on him or on Cooley? It's opening day.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 1:57 PM
Frost needs to learn the right time for a shank.
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 1:57 PM
JC not sharp? Too early to say. He JUST got SACKED for the first time. Just poise rattled.
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 1:58 PM
JC is holding the ball too long early and may be nervous in his first opening game start. By the second half he should settle in!
Posted by: Tommy | September 9, 2007 1:58 PM
now we know why the gruff LB coach is no longer . . .
how can you keep rock ont eh bench with holdman out there? ? ?
like dub g said about dub l, he'll make mistakes but he'll make them at full speed. . .
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 1:58 PM
Who replaced Jansen btw?
Posted by: Mofass | September 9, 2007 2:00 PM
Note: that JC sack happened on Samuels' side, not Heyer's.
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 2:00 PM
Heyer replaced Jansen
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:01 PM
Is C. Rogers playing, I've only seen Smoot and a lot of him!
Posted by: Redskinrex | September 9, 2007 2:02 PM
Good thing Heyer got those reps in preseason.
Posted by: Mofass | September 9, 2007 2:02 PM
Lessons from Samuels' injury and now Jansen ... OTs should never allow themselves to be horizontal on the field. Other guys fall on them and break them.
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 2:02 PM
Hmmmm, Mandy Moore guest starring on a lame CBS sitcom. If she's so desperate for attention, I recommend accidentally leaking a sex tape.

JC very shakey so far.

I dont think its just JC not playing well. The dolphins have a good defense. I think we should pick on the secondary more and get Cooly involved more.
Posted by: Tommy | September 9, 2007 2:09 PM
I'm still trying to figure out why they drafted Ginn in the first round...

Why was Rogers behind a back up tight end, s##ks

Posted by: julio | September 9, 2007 2:24 PM
Redskins look bad - inept on offense.
The Dolphin splayed like crap and are still beating the sorry Skins.
They really look slow, disorganized on defense.
Where's all of this team speed.
Posted by: GAD | September 9, 2007 2:25 PM
LOL Gee, usually it takes the first loss for the Redskins Nation extremists to go all doom and gloom -- doing so after the first score on the defensive is a new low! Well done!

Okay, official review of Oreo pizza:
The crust is regular pizza crust, albeit really, really thin. It's a very odd contrast in flavor between the salty, cardboardy crust and the pile of Oreos, chocolate, and frosting on top. It's kind of like stuffing your mouth with a cardboard box and Oreos at the same time.
Basically, it's disgusting.
But there's a lot of sugar in there. sfskin, something to consider feeding your kids before class.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:25 PM
wow...Randy Moss 4 rec. 87 yards in the first half
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:26 PM
It's killing me to see all these balls go to Smoot. He seems to be more worried about staying 5 yards away from the reciever than making a play. And every time he makes a tackle he's thumping his chest. As if it's negating the fact that he just gave up a reception.
I'm not as worried about Soup. Give him time, he'll settle down. He's got half time to get himself calmed down. The play calls haven't been bad, just the execution. Y'all waited this long for the season to start, let's give a little while before we go burying it! :)
Posted by: Junior | September 9, 2007 2:26 PM
Ok first off I'm hoping this is first game rust but the Dolphins seem to have shaken that off.
2nd JJ is a huge blow considering how early it is...
3rd all we have done for two years is call for Cmpbell...Well we have him now...So no more excuses....
This team looks the same as always to me...They just seem to not be able to execute...Defense looks great though...Can't blame them for the TD that was a gutsy call and could have went either way.
Lets hope Gibbs throws a gatorade cooler at half and can somehow do what he has done for years...Make halftime adjustments....But right now...This team on offense looks awful.
Posted by: Leevi | September 9, 2007 2:26 PM
We're doomed! We're doomed!
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:27 PM
D looks better than last year, but the O still looks pretty bad. Cooley getting blown up, Jansen down, dropped passes, overthrown balls and picks.
Bright spot, ARE and maybe Betts.
Posted by: SCSkinsFan | September 9, 2007 2:27 PM
We have to make a statement on this first drive, period. Its so early. The D was on the field too long and the dolphins made adjustments how to attack the D.We too involve Cooley, go play action and set up the big play.
Posted by: Tommy | September 9, 2007 2:27 PM
Season over...when does the NBA start? Will the Wizards be any better?
Posted by: Ralph | September 9, 2007 2:27 PM
I thought the strangest Redskins decision of the first half was taking Betts out of the game after he'd brought the ball down to the seven and replacing him with Portis. Portis didn't do zip, but the play calling on those two plays was pretty unispired.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 2:27 PM
We have another half to play. What is wrong with you guys? On half and you are ready to say we suck. Damn I wouldn't want some of you as my back up in trouble times.
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 2:27 PM
We were FAR worse in third quarter last year than 1st half, could get ugly. Green is a good QB and he's getting more and more time. And where are our screen passes? This defense is made for them and they were some of our best gainers last year.
Posted by: Redskinrex | September 9, 2007 2:27 PM
1st drive of the 2nd half is HUGE. The skins have to get a TD.
Posted by: etrod | September 9, 2007 2:28 PM
Cooley isnt apart of the passing game because he has to stay back and help block...Jansen is out for the year and Samuels is just now getting back...
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:28 PM
Love the Vikings TD. It's always fun to watch fat men run.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:28 PM
down by 4 points at the half; not bad at all. the "D" is keeping pace with Miami's "D". Looks good. You aren't going to be world beaters on every play.
It's still anybody's game....

Posted by: xxx | September 9, 2007 2:29 PM
I see people think the Nation is being too harsh about this team so early....
I can tell ya this...I have the NFL ticket and I watching all the games and the Skins offense looks the worst of the day thus far...
Yes I agree we should not doom the season just yet. but Basic execution is crucial...They are not executing well at all...The oline can't pass block for s**t and the running game is just not there after the first 4 carries....I don't care who you are playing...I'm tired of making execuses for this team...there is no more excuses....PLAY Dammit!

It's me being facetious. But it's also the pizza. Scratch "Order Domino's" off the season to do list. Might as well cross off "Eat dog poop" while I'm at it. Leaves "Go on a date with Heidi Klum" and "Read the entire Berenstein Bears oeuvre".

Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:32 PM
I thikn we need one of theose drives where we just feed feed betts over and over again, a la 2nd halfo of last year. . .
way to early to b negative . . .
dfense looks much improved, time for the adjustments we never seemed to make last year . . .
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 2:33 PM
P Diddy, was that your C-3P0 impression?
I just hope they don't abandon the running game. Keep pounding it at Thomas and the crew and they'll wear down.
Hopefully the D will make an adjustment stop the mid range stuff. It's time for Area 51 to take charge.

WHy has it taken Cam Cameron less than a half to make his offense work, and Saunders still doesn't?
Posted by: Corkczar | September 9, 2007 2:34 PM
It took Cam Cameron less then a half and Saunders 2 yrs and they still havent figured it out...
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:35 PM
Not that it matters given the score, but the Skins definitely look better than the Dolphins today. [The score doesn't count till the game is over.] Betts is getting great yardage. The Skins have had 3 (4?) first downs ... although an equal number of punts. Though the O is making the Dolphins D look weak, Trent Green is doing the same thing to the Skins' D. STILL not good numbers on third down by our D. Where is LaRon today?
Posted by: dcsween | September 9, 2007 2:35 PM
I don't agree with changing RBs so often Put one in and stick to it...Backs get in tune with things as the game goes on...especially Portis...

Weird Al is too busy indexing his playbook. It's hard work, don't ya know...
By next season, we'll be able to look up "Completed pass" in the index and end up on page 568 for that extra special play we've all been clamoring for. You know the one where JC puts the ball in Santana's hands and he holds on to it. That one.

To all Wizards fans, I called it, Dont jump ship yet. Because the Wizards are awful. Go Skins, CP, are you with me!
Posted by: Tommy | September 9, 2007 2:42 PM
Now thats how you start off the 2nd half...come on defense...step up!!
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:42 PM
That's more like it....Whoever invented the oreos pizza should be shot.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
someone say something about CP losing a step? a little foot for supper?
Posted by: waiting since 02 | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
Randel El is coming up BIG... which is good since Moss couldn't catch the ball if it had a handle on it!
Posted by: Redskinrex | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
A few lame-o's need to do the right thing now and say "I was wrong." You know who you are.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
It looks like all the nay sayers just logged off! HAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: JC in NC | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
Cooley blocked Taylor on that CP run. I will never doubt him again.
Posted by: SCSkinsFan | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
pls kick it in bounds swissham . . .
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
Nothing like shaking off the rust and getting Portis in the end zone.
Posted by: calebt17 | September 9, 2007 2:43 PM
If a TD for Miami means our season is doomed does a TD for us mean we're going to the Superbowl?
I think it does!
Posted by: SonicJones | September 9, 2007 2:44 PM
FYI...Last years 1st pick in the draft, Mario Williams, scored his first TD. 41 yard fumble return...Good for him...
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:44 PM
Oh, right, that's why they drafted Ginn.
:-)
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:44 PM
trip XX went silent, did you get to the board operator jm?
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 2:44 PM
Well...it was in bounds.
Posted by: etrod | September 9, 2007 2:45 PM
No nay saying here - We still need for Moss to get his hands back though....
Posted by: Mary | September 9, 2007 2:45 PM
I said HAIL!!! Let's go Skins nation!! HAIL!!!
Posted by: JC in NC | September 9, 2007 2:45 PM
the oreos pizza was invented in Kansas City, of all places.
Posted by: xxx | September 9, 2007 2:45 PM
Whoever invented the oreos pizza should be shot.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 02:43 PM
Probably Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzalez, or someone else we already hate.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 2:45 PM
Not how we needed to respond after a TD
Posted by: Greg(Boston) | September 9, 2007 2:45 PM
well randle el has 100 yards recieving...nice...
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:45 PM
Did Mario Williams have a good year last year? It's easy to get overlooked when you play for such a bad team (cue Redskins Nation's constant harping about the 'Skins getting overlooked for everything).
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:46 PM
still dead air on trip x . . .
geez . . .have to listen to the real strawberry sortcake in the background, argh . .
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 2:48 PM
Rocky is playing great!
Posted by: Tommy | September 9, 2007 2:48 PM
It is hard for me to plumb the depths of my literary prowess to describe the contempt I have for Oreo Pizza. That's $4 I just spent which could have been spent on a Bud Light or something.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:48 PM
Not in KC! Say it isn't so!!! KC is one of the best cities on planet earf.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 2:48 PM
Sack for Rocky!!!
Posted by: JC in NC | September 9, 2007 2:49 PM
Rocky Mac! Come on O score another TD on this play and take their heart.
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 2:50 PM
Green got a Mac Attack!
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 2:50 PM
KC is certainly one of the best restaurant cities in America. Vastly underrated.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:51 PM
Where are all of you we are doomed people? You need to man up and say you were wrong. A footballl game isn't over in the first half.
Cyn Cyty make sure JLC say he was wrong about CP.
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 2:52 PM
Randy Moss 50-yd TD pass - Patriots are gonna bury the Jets
Posted by: xxx | September 9, 2007 2:52 PM
anybody just see Betts wave Portis off?
Posted by: etrod | September 9, 2007 2:52 PM
P Diddy,
At what point were you contemplating Oreo pizza, and thinking that there was even a chance it might be good?
Posted by: SonicJones | September 9, 2007 2:53 PM
Hugely underrated, Diddy. I also just noticed that you ordered this pizza at 1:47 eastern....that's, what, 10:47 for you??? That may have upped the disgustingness.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 2:53 PM
Jasno will do another mea cupla.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 2:54 PM

Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 02:52 PM
We're waiting!
Posted by: JC in NC | September 9, 2007 2:54 PM
JLaC needs to apologize to CP in person, on camera, wearing plaid shorts, and a pink polo with a popped collar.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:54 PM
CP has 10 carries for 48 yards. Man him not playing in the pre season is really hurting him.
Posted by: JM220 | September 9, 2007 2:55 PM
KC's a great food town, but underrated? No way. Everyone says good things about food in KC.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 2:55 PM
Randy Moss just caught a 50-yard td pass.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 2:56 PM
anyone seen landry recently or know if he's hurt; seems like prilleau is on the field for him a lot or did he get benched or something or are we just in nickel and dime packages; he's been quiet
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 2:56 PM
Whoever is in charge over there at xxx needs the beat down.
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 2:56 PM
Sonic, it's a moral imperative. Last year, Fudge 'Ums was epically wonderful (cubes of poop? SIGN ME UP!) This year, "beard of Oreos?" Oh yes. I'm in.
A discriminating pallette, indeed.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:57 PM
D needs a takeaway to keep the haters off the blog. There are other reasons, too.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 2:57 PM
People think KC is just bbq and steak, that's why I say it's underrated.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 2:57 PM
And, of course, I meant palate. Grrrr.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 2:58 PM
Are we bring any heat on Green?
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 2:59 PM
D just looks too much like last year in the pass game. Miami won't need the run if this keeps up.
Posted by: Redskinrex | September 9, 2007 3:00 PM
You gotta give Carlos Roger credit on that tackle. Textbook.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:01 PM
Rogers made 2 good plays in a row.
Posted by: Tommy | September 9, 2007 3:02 PM
Well, they have only allowed 10 points thus far. So, let's give credit where it's due, and assign blame where it's due. The defense looks very strong overall. The offense looks inconsistent. Even more importantly, the game isn't even over yet :-)
But remember, this was the whole deal. Close games until mid-season, then the offense comes together and they make a run at it. If they end up 6-5 or 5-6, things may be alright in that weak division.
So don't panic.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:04 PM
did rogers actually make a play? ? ?
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 3:04 PM

Huh?

Posted by: Redskinrex | September 9, 2007 3:09 PM
It's great for the League that Randy Moss is back in full force.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:11 PM
JLaC nailed...10-10 4th Quarter...whose going to make the play or the mistake...

Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 3:15 PM

Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 3:16 PM
Okay D. Reach down and grab em!!!
Posted by: JC in NC | September 9, 2007 3:16 PM
Just caught up with time on game (knew had to pause it when my dog was standing in front of the TV with the leash)and now caught up with the blog.
What's up with the poopy pants at halftime? I mean are you guys fans of other teams who are here just to be poopy pants? That's sad.
Anyhoo I'll say it's not consistentlyl great but you know what we're seeing what we can do warts and all.
Posted by: sfskin | September 9, 2007 3:16 PM
Damn...did you see that...B.Lloyd basically let that one go...big wuss...we needed to cut him last year
Posted by: waiting since 92 | September 9, 2007 3:17 PM
Damn Damn Damn! Come on D
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 3:17 PM
Was I mistaken, or did Lloyd, Brandon give up on that play -- both on the pass and on tackling after the interception?
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 3:17 PM
what the crappin crap SAUNDERS, run the CRAPPIN BALL!!!!!
Posted by: Greg(Boston) | September 9, 2007 3:18 PM
Umm the Receiver isn't earning his paycheck today. He's had some blocks but two bad plays.
Posted by: sfskin | September 9, 2007 3:18 PM
Yeah, t-e, it appeared that he gave up. I don't like to call guys out for that stuff because who knows what's going on, but, yeah, he did look like he pulled up a little there.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:18 PM
Totally, Talent, totally. And that pass interference by Smoot was horrid.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 3:19 PM
They've got to make Lloyd inactive next game and let Bodiford and Thrash have a chance. Those guys at least care.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 3:20 PM
Yeah that was crap... lets use the rest of our free cap space this year and cut b lloyd now
Posted by: Dante | September 9, 2007 3:20 PM
Alright, just how BS are these Ford commercials? Anybody have a giant plane and a Ford truck so we can try it out?
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:21 PM
man im getting really nervous...Can JC lead them to a score? Will the Def hold Miami for the rest of the game???
Posted by: Anonymous | September 9, 2007 3:21 PM
i understand the $$ side of things, but can't we make the Wide Receiver pour Gatorade or something??
Posted by: JC in NC | September 9, 2007 3:21 PM
Ad break commentary:
Who was the genius at CBS who decided that China is "the land of mystery"?
Nice thing about game on CBS is no Chevy commercials!!! Not our country at CBS woohoo!
I'm sad about Oreo Pizza - not because I didn't think it would be anything but vomitous but it diminishes what I consider the finest cookie on the mass marketplace.
Posted by: sfskin | September 9, 2007 3:22 PM
I'll take the drop, maybe he was hearing footsteps with da reap closing in? ? ?
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 3:23 PM
Miami hands are our best defensive weapon!
Posted by: Redskinrex | September 9, 2007 3:23 PM
david martin? brandon lloyd? Have they ever been seen together? I'm thinking not. The receiver's drawing pay checks from two teams.
Posted by: talent evaluator | September 9, 2007 3:24 PM
I prefer the Newman O's (ginger and mint!). Paul is a culinary genius.
Posted by: Cindy | September 9, 2007 3:24 PM

more than I'm used to seeing . . .
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 3:25 PM
im not too stoked on the way our d is playing...they are getting off the hook too easy with all those dropped passes that shoulda been first downs...
we gotta get some pressure on the qb...too many plays look like last year...secondary just getting picked apart...good thing they are dropping those...
of course we're guilty as well on the other side of the ball...
Posted by: deadskin | September 9, 2007 3:25 PM
Time to run CP to the end zone again. And damn it get Cooley involved.
Posted by: JM220 | September 9, 2007 3:26 PM
BTW just to demonstrate how fast and smart I am and that all that $ my parents spent on my education was totally worth it. . .
I just realized that 30 + 21 = 51. Yup maybe me and Skippy should meet and procreate.
CP way to keep it going.
Posted by: sfskin | September 9, 2007 3:26 PM
It's time to put this game in CP's hands. He's the franchise, he's the guy.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:26 PM
sfskin, that's hilarious. I had no idea either...
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:27 PM

randel el...is he stepping up to be a bonified #2?
today he looks like the #1...
Posted by: deadskin | September 9, 2007 3:28 PM
So The Receiver makes a catch, but there's a penalty on the D, so it doesn't count. Love it.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 9, 2007 3:28 PM
Hey looky the Receiver just caught a pass! What was that worth? $1 million?
Cooley is blocking I assume.
Posted by: sfskin | September 9, 2007 3:28 PM
Time for Lloyd ass to be inactive for the rest of the year.
Posted by: jm220 | September 9, 2007 3:28 PM
Did everyone see that? Someone stole the Wide Receiver's jersey and went out and caught a pass...
Posted by: JC in NC | September 9, 2007 3:28 PM
sellars takes z thomas for a ride . . .
Posted by: skinsfan@8KaboveMSL | September 9, 2007 3:29 PM
What? 30+21=51?
I googled it and I got -- an airfield whose primary purpose is believed to be the operation and analysis of enemy aircraft and weapons systems -- from Wikipedia.
