Jansen Speaks .. So Does Wade
Jon just did a conference call with us. It was pretty gruesome. He will have surgery this week, either Wed. or Thursday and will be out probably 4 months. Said he is unsure if he will be placed on IR right away, ending his season, but seemed to expect the move at some point.
Todd Wade says he is operating on the assumption he is starting indefinitely. Wade says that Coach Joe Gibbs and associate head coach Al Saunders both gave him "The Nod" - you know, that universal look and tilt of the head that means, get ready to strap it on and step up, son. We need 'ya.
Have to wait until Coach Joe talks around 5 pm to find out if Wade's reading of body language was correct, but he was fairly adamant about being the guy.
As for Jansen, until they perform the surgery the doctors will not know how extensive the ligament damage is, but there will be some. Jon said they reset the fracture on the field - holy schnikes I almost puked just hearing him describe it - and said "I could feel things popping, I could feel things breaking" at the time his leg got rolled.
Jon said he'll spend 6 weeks in a cast and on crutches and then will be able to put some weight on the fractured and dislocated right ankle in a walking boot. Ten to 12 weeks after surgery he should be running and "by end of three-to-four months there I should be able to resume any normal training."
The Redskins still have three healthy tackles so there is no rush per say to put Jansen on IR, and who knows, perhaps after surgery they see a reason to keep him active for a post-season. But Jansen was focusing on being back for next year, and was talking about this injury in the same terms as the 2004 ruptured left Achilles that kept him out of that entire season.
Since then Jansen has broken both thumbs and was finally forced out of the lineup once last season with a calf injury as well. He plans to be around the team more than he was while rehabbing in 2004.

Seriously, Jansen seems like a great guy. Who knows if he's lost a step? You always find that when you tell a great athlete that they've lost a step, they pick it up and surprise you. Jansen will be back.
Good for Wade if he starts, and I hope the line stays healthy enough that Heyer never has to play again all year. Heyer was impressive though, you have to admit that...
Posted by: P Diddy | September 10, 2007 2:41 PM
Thanks, Jason -- you are rocking it with these Monday posts.
I hate this for Jansen; he has to go on IR, we can't save a spot for him on the off chance he's ready to go in December. We got games to play before then. And if we need him that badly in December, that would mean we're in some terrible shape.
I have little doubt that Wade would have gone in at RT if he hadn't been dinged up enough to be inactive. He's the right guy to plug in at right tackle, and I feel great about Heyer as the #1 backup for either side. Next season maybe Heyer becomes our starting RT if we cut Jansen loose? But again, miles to go before we get there.
Time for Wade to prove he can stay healthy. The only reason we have him is because he couldn't stay healthy at his first stop, right?

JLa,
You are speaking negatively of broken bones. You obviosly hate them. You should never post again.
Posted by: Just sayzin is all... | September 10, 2007 2:44 PM
Jansen is a warrior, can't question his heart or his dedication. I can't fathom the amount of pain he had to endure in order to reset the fracture.
I almost passed out just writing that....
Posted by: Greg(Boston) | September 10, 2007 2:45 PM
Prediction: No announcement from St. Joe about who starts at RT until the end of the week, or maybe game day decision. Thought process: want to see whether Wade's injury, which kept him inactive, presumably requiring him to play hurt is balanced by Heyer's game film.
The second half sack on Jason C. was Taylor coming off Samuels, not Heyer. When Taylor came on Heyer's side, Heyer stood him up and kept him off the QB (and kept the pocket intact).

Posted by: E | September 10, 2007 2:50 PM
I'm only on that bandwagon if Wade is still injured. Heyer is a nice player with a big upside but Wade is a very good player who should not have many growing pains. It's a nice problem to have.
Posted by: Glass Half Full? | September 10, 2007 2:51 PM
Yeah you saw the trainer run out and immediately cross his wrists in the skull and crossbones. It was bad.
Posted by: Skinz | September 10, 2007 2:52 PM
They probably don't have enough reps available to put off making the decision, sween.
I wonder how much of the RT playbook Heyer knows... he certainly handled himself well, but it would seem like Wade has both the skill and experience to be the default favorite.
Posted by: cload and daggar | September 10, 2007 2:52 PM

Why is it all of these trolls are hating on Soup? Go take a look at the stats for Vince Young and Super Bowl QB Rex Grossman. Vince Young's are just plain horrible yet the media continues to ride his SJK saying "all he does is win games". I didn't realize football was a one on one sport and not team effort.
Other notable QB's with crappy starts;
McNabb
Brees
Favre
Bulger
Losman

Wade was listed as "probable" with his shoulder for the game, but then again, Portis and Samuels also were listed as probable. Wade has almost a season of backup RT in the Saunders' offense under his belt. Plus, I love what he did in New Orleans last season against that DE who the Saints put the franchise tag on.
In other news, Suisham is currently in a five way tie to be the #1 kicker in the NFL.
Posted by: dcsween | September 10, 2007 2:59 PM
Pic #5 of two threads ago gallery link says it all... that ankle was JTFU. His injury sounds significantly more serious than mine was. I didn't suffer and bone damage. That brother is out for a while...
did Jasno just mention the POST SEASON in passing? Not the normal doom and gloom we're used to. It felt sort of weird reading it.
My church flag football team looked good yesterday. I went for a pass and the QB under threw me. The DB jumped in front of me to catch the ball and you know what I did? I reached back there and grabbed it right out of his hands. Give me a Jersey. BLLOYD needs me to show him how its done.
Chump.
Posted by: Dorf | September 10, 2007 2:59 PM
Sellers stepped to the right, right?
The penalty was: " 4-2-MIA 21 (6:28) (Pass formation) PENALTY on WAS-87-T.Yoder, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at MIA 21 - No Play."
Based on the discussion, that seems like the wrong call.
Posted by: cload and daggar | September 10, 2007 2:59 PM
Heyer has been very impressive (not perfect) and who wasn't happy about all the pre-season work he got when Jansen went down.
JC has been very impressive too (not perfect).
With the youth movement, you have to be patient.
I'm with Jack (can't believe it) 9 or 10 wins this year. Something to get excited about next year.
We're on the right path.

A fracture sounds bad enough, a dislocation sounds bad as well, but put them together - OUCH! This may be the end of the road for the Rock but I hope he can come back at least as a backup/mentor next year.

Jansen's injury is Thiesmanesque.
Go back to the previous thread to see a link to a Picture of his foot turned backwards.
Not for the faint of heart.
In my gut I can't see him being ready to play anytime this year and like JT it may be one to end is career.
Posted by: Stumped | September 10, 2007 3:11 PM
Bad news for Jansen and the Skins. Always liked the guy, but thought the Skins went too far in the deal they gave him in the offseason. He is getting up there in years and this type of injury only gets you older faster. Its IR for him, no question. And Wade should be the guy that steps in. No question, not even a close call. They oughta to get rid of Lloyd in a big hurry.
Win 1 is reason for optimism. Santana will play better and Campbell will improve. The special teams were reasonable and the D looked like it will be much better than 2006.
Beating the Eagles would really mean something. And then a win over the Giants ...
Posted by: AL | September 10, 2007 3:12 PM
LT has the best QB rating so far. Maybe next year we can make a move to get him to be our starting QB and Priest Holmes to be our #1 WR.

Posted by: Dik | September 10, 2007 3:21 PM
It's a shame to see anyone get hurt. I know I'll get lambasted for saying this but I've said it before...Jon Jansen is vastly overrated. He's been a turnstile at times yet because he's an elder statesman on the line, no one says anything. Wade outperformed him last year and I suspect will do so again this year. This remind s me a bit of Theismann's injury when Shroeder came on and immediately hit Monk with a bullet. Regardless of anyone's personal feelings for Jansen, we are better off with him out of the lineup. I understand that he's been playing hurt and admire him for that but I want the better guy out on the field. That guy is Wade
(and possibly Heyer).

Granted, in slow mo things seem exaggerated (sp?!?) - but it lookled like ol' Zakky was tryin to roll through just about anything he encountered there, not to mention the D-Lineman's zealousness to crumple JJ (... it is his job, but dang!)

mark - I won't argue with you on that. I mentioned yesterday that this could be a "blessing in disguise" at the RT position. I like Jansen and I feel bad for him that he got hurt but his replacement could probably do a better job than him.
Posted by: bigfish | September 10, 2007 3:27 PM
What are the rules with the salary cap if Jansen is unable to play again? We just handed him a 10M bonus in the offseason.
It is looking more apparent that the receiver is gonna have to be cut after this year. Not trying is inexcuasble.

Just dropped by to say bye.
Perhaps I'll 'see' you all again on RI 5.0 in 2011 when our two teams (probably) meet again - unless somehow we both find our way to the same Super Bowl before that.
No doubt by then, NFL quarterbacks will actually be autonomous robots with on-board jetpacks that manipulated by sideline coaches using 'wii-like' controllers, although Miami will still be starting Trent Green, 41 (years) or maybe even a perfectly embalmed Dan Marino under center (American spelling to please y'all). You'll probably just have finished paying off the cap debt for Archuleta and Brandon Fraud, sorry about that, but at least robo-Vinnie will have some space in the $5BN 2011 cap to sign a clone constructed from the DNA of Sonny Jurgenson to a 1 year deal.
In the meantime enjoy the season(s) and ENJOY THE GAME, IT'S MEANT TO BE FUN, for us at least. Good luck to all.

Somebody a little ways up the thread asked who's in favor of starting Heyer.
I was the original Heyer bandwagoner saying right after they signed him that he would be on the opening day roster and have been his staunch defender against the evil Jackson LaCanicholson, and yes I can handle the truth, ya'll.
But the truth is this; there is no way Heyer should ever start ahead of Wade at this point. Jansen's injury is the reason we signed the guy to the nice deal in the first place.
Stephon is my boy and he deserves to be on the depth chart, but should only play if Wade can't.

Sheppard hurt his right knee in a three-way collision with teammate Sean Considine and Packers receiver Ruvell Martin late in the first half of Philadelphia's 16-13 loss at Green Bay on Sunday.
An MRI exam Monday confirmed Sheppard has a sprained medial collateral ligament. The Eagles host the Washington Redskins next Monday night.
"I don't think he'll make it this week," coach Andy Reid said.
Will James would replace Sheppard in the starting lineup and Joselio Hanson would fill the nickel spot.

Seriously though, wonder whether they'll squeeze in an extra day of practice or something, or just a day off?
Will our boys be taking the train up to Philly, as they do sometimes? I love it, seems so old-fashioned to do that.

cL, in Cleveland, my hometown buds really do think Quinn is all that ... and that the season already is written off (and Crennel is good as gone). Atlanta MUST be thinking they get a bye year (and maybe Petrino is counting on it so he can pick up Brian Brohm), but for the time being they seems like they need to keep Joey (don't call me Joe) Harrington from quitting. They will need an NFL to mentor whoever they bring in, but presumably they can wait to get Leftwich till the offseason. KC just drafted high last year to get Croyle (even though Huard looks better).
I'm guessing the reason no one has jumped to grab Leftwich is because its Week One and they all have a lot of other stuff to worry about. My guess is that he gets a job once some starter goes down and out for the season with an injury. My other thought about roster moves this year is that, of yesterday's 32 starting kickers, less than 20 of them will still have the job as of Week 17.

I believe we will be better with Wade at RT than Jansen. I firmly believe that JJ is one of those guys that somehow gets a reputation for being a great player because he's been in one place for a long time. You guys saw him this preseason getting beaten like a red headed mule. He's a good dude and all that but so is dcsween, and dcsween doesn't get to play RT.
In one of the previous posts, somebody said something about L2 not having an impact. I don't know how to say this but he knows who you are and well...don't go over the middle of your lawn. He was all over the field, lined up in a dozen different places, covered, hit and took down beverage orders. Absolute man.

Dolphins' Daniels accepts partial blame for loss
Travis Daniels doesn't care if you blame him for this loss. He blames himself. Anyone that doesn't know the importance of Jon Jansen, just doesn't know football. He is a solid performer on that line, last year and this preseason. Joe Bugel, whom I would list as an expert on the subject, really likes Jansen and his work. He is a major cog on that line and will be missed.
I hope Wade can step in and play well. He has Strahan coming up. Not to mention a tough Eagle dline next week. I thought Heyer played great yesterday. He is a gem in the rough.
Godspeed to Jon Jansen #76. My prayers are with you.

Just so I can torture myself, can someone post a link to the play where Brandon Lloyd embarrassed himself and the organization? Cap hit or not, this cancer should be shown the door yesterday. Does it matter if it's Caldwell or some other stiff in the third spot and warming the bench, as long as they play the Redskins way?
Posted by: Pete in Atlanta | September 10, 2007 4:12 PM
Moss is a great decoy in coverage, even with a sore wrist. He can take the #1 cornerback out of the play with deep routes, even when Moss knows he can't catch the ball.
Cooley was getting under and over coverage on almost every route he ran, so that takes away another defender (usually the free safety).
End result is Randle El getting single coverage from the #2 cornerback or nickel back, and lots of balls thrown his way.

Repeat after me:
Lloyd can't be cut because the Redskins don't have the cap room to do so. To cut Lloyd, other players would also have to be cut to create the cap room necessary.
It's not a difficult concept - stop being stupid about it.
The cap goes up every year. An increase in the cap in 2008 should give the Redskins the cap room necessary to dump Lloyd in March 2008.

Posted by: Skinz | September 10, 2007 4:19 PM
I said it on another thread and I will repeat it here. Jon Jansen is an average lineman that gets a pass because he is a great guy, a good soldier through good and bad, and get to play on the less busy side of the line. If he were in Samuels spot, he would have been found out long ago. As for the Buges liking him comment, what do you expect him to say? The elder statesman player on the team and part of his line is a bum? he is not a bum, but Wade is at least his equal, and with Heyer behind him, just put him on the IR now and go out and get a guy off someones practice squad or one of the unemplyed TE or WR that we need. And one more thing, though his injury is bad, at least he knows he is going to walk again. Think about it.

What was really bad about the Jansen play is that the Fish were offsides and refs should have blown the play dead as defense had a straight shot to the QB. Thus Jansen would never had been in that situation.

This may be overly optimistic, but I think the Iggles play right into our hands.
Westbrook is a pretty good back, but mostly as a receiver out of the backfield. Rocky and Fletcher will be all over him as a runner, and I can't wait to see the grim reaper take his head off when he floats out there with that weak screen crap. they have no WR even as good as Miami so our guys should be able to cover. Lito Shephard is out, and their LB's are not that good to begin with. Our O-line should be able to get Portis and Betts through to the LB's.They will be over peersuing so much that Antwan shoud be able to throw a pass from an end around or a flea flicker should be good for a TD. may be all that is needed. I am busy the rest of the week so I will try to check in on Saturday when the real predictions start flying.

It's football - SJK happens.
Jansen lost for the season is not the end of the world - it's just one of those things. Lots of people up here were calling for Wade to start at RT anyway, based on Jansen's weak showing in pre-season. Now they have their wish. The truth about Jansen is that he is still a very good run blocker, but not so good anymore at pass protection. (Don't discount the torn Achilles as the reason he doesn't backpedal so well anymore.)
It was a bad day for injuries all over the league this week. The same thing happens every year. Other players now have to step up. It will always be this way - football is a violent game.
Yes, Jansen may walk again when he recovers, but chances are pretty good he won't walk very well as he gets older. I hope he buys a whirlpool and a ice tub with his extension money, for his sake.

WOW, from PFT, so take it with a grain of salt, but these would be devastating:
On the same day that the Giants learned that starting tailback Brandon Jacobs will miss 3-5 weeks with a knee injury, it also was learned that defensive end Osi Umenyiora will be out for two months with a knee injury of his own.
But that might not be the worst news.
We're hearing an unconfirmed rumor -- and this is incredibly unconfirmed for now -- that quarterback Eli Manning might be done for the year with a shoulder injury that he suffered during a failed two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Giants.

I'd love to see Thrash take the field against his former team next week. Every time that guy gets some minutes good things always happen. F Brandon Lloyd. I'd rather sacrifice some speed and get a work horse performance from a proven vet and team player then roll the dice with Lloyd. If dropping from #2 to #3 on the depth chart hasn't lit a fire under his a** there's not much that'll motivate this bum.
Beantown Greg, for what it's worth I checked out the game at Coolidge Corner Clubhouse in Brookline and enjoyed the heck out of it. Did venture back to 205th, between my crue and some ones we hooked up with we had fun. Also, as I described last night, some drunk floosey was taunting us with "Lets go cowboys" but wasnt paying attention to where she was going and face planted right into a wall....hysterical..we gave her standing O...and the entire bar chanted "cowboys suck"

I may be way out of date since I've been out of the country until Sunday afternoon, but the pre-season injuries of most concern were
DMac's knee - won't be 100% all year
LJ Smith's sports hernia - re-injured midway through training camp, if he's even playing, he's nowhere near 100%
Shawn Andrew's (PB Tackle) ankle - no one's sure what's wrong, but this went from mild sprain to potential career ender the week before I left; very weird
and from this week's game
Lito Sheppard almost certainly out with a knee injury.

skins getting lucky....... OT coin flip, CB for eagles out next week, Manning out, eagles loose to packers..all in two days, wow.

With the 300lb QB, injured RB, injured Umenyiora and that horrible defense from yesterday, I'm liking our chances against the Giants.
Posted by: bigfish | September 10, 2007 5:29 PM
Question for the blog:
What were you surprised most by from this weekend's games?
For me it was Tennessee rushing for over 250 yds on what was supposed to be a strong Jaguars defense - IN JACKSONVILLE.

Nate and others in NYC,
I have my show in Brooklyn on Monday. My plan is to do my time then roll to HC. Even though its a national game, I still want to build the mo there. I'd stake my namesakes ability to get first downs on it...

When will ESPN stop hiring commentators who can't speak English just because they used to play football. i.e. Keyshwan and Emmit.
Posted by: bigfish | September 10, 2007 5:41 PM
E: Not if you can still spell "officially."
Beantown Greg and fellow Boston skins fans: good to hear you're out there. I'm usually in Cambridge for the games, either at the Tavern in Central Square or, even better, at one of the many bars in Davis or Porter (I prefer Joshua Tree). We'll have to organize a northern gathering of Redskins fans sometime this season...

Man my heart goes out to Kevin Everette.
Posted by: jm220 | September 10, 2007 5:46 PM
sorry if this has already been said, but too many posts and not enought time.
Anyway, it seems to me that this injury should be the fault of the officials. Jason Taylor was way offsides on that play, and I think it should have been blown dead, before the injury could have any happened, for encrochment. But i'm not really clear on when it is encrochment and when it is just offsides, so maybe should have been offsides and injury still would have happened. But when somebody jumps that early it can mess up what everybody on the line is doing, and there at least should have been a penalty.

Posted by: David | September 10, 2007 6:07 PM
I'd have to say how good the Texans looked.
That and how bad the injuries were this weekend... physically and psychologically
(you can't tell me Chicago's offense is feeling really confident right now)
Posted by: Dorf | September 10, 2007 6:14 PM
dcsween
(lots of random injury info)
And we can't field punts, so a Skins 3 and "out" may be an effective offensive series.

That's no surprise - that's just bad defense. Chris Larry could have covered the receivers on either team better than the clowns the Gints and Cowgirls had out there.
Both teams were rushing hard on every play and leaving the secondaries to be toasted. (Kind of looked like the 2006 Skins defense.)
Posted by: TM | September 10, 2007 6:21 PM
Adam,
Shawn Andrews might be a bit of a head case. He was crying and proclaiming his injury a career-ender. Reid played it down the following day or two (probably after you left town), saying it wasn't that big of a deal.

EVERETT LIKELY WILL BE PARALYZED
The AP reports that Bills tight end Kevin Everett suffered a "catastrophic" neck injury on Sunday. The injury also is described as "life-threatening."
"A best-case scenario is full recovery, but not likely," Dr. Andrew Cappuccino said, one day after performing a four-hour operation on the player. "I believe there will be some permanent neurological paralysis. . . . A full neurological recovery was bleak, dismal."
Although Everett has had successful surgery to remove bone chips resulting from fractures of the third and fourth vertebrates in Everett's neck, he remains at risk for blood clots, infections, and breathing failure.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Everett has been placed on the Bills' injured reserve list. But Everett's playing status is just a footnote at this point; the injury is a reminder of how dangerous the game of football can be, at every level.
Posted by: Forget about Jansen for a minute | September 10, 2007 6:28 PM
The Skins should look at recently released RT Rob Petiti. He started all 16 games as a rookie with Dallas in his first season, then dropped to the Saints last Saturday. He is a n ex Pitt Panther and we know that Joe likes a Pitt Panther on OL (Russ Grimm).
Posted by: Jon | September 10, 2007 6:29 PM
Seriously, the Kevin Everett thing should give us all pause. Sure, these guys are playing a remarkably violent sport as their profession, and that definitely puts them in more harm's way than any of us (most likely). But it's humbling to think just how much your life can change in an instant.
My heart and my prayers are out to Everett and his family.
Posted by: P Diddy | September 10, 2007 6:37 PM
Good thoughts go to Everett in Buffalo. Ugh is all I know what to say in this situation.
Hope Jansen is okay too talk about gruesome picture.
Stuff like this makes it even more outrageous that the NFLPA doesn't step up and demand benefits for the vets.
Posted by: sfskin | September 10, 2007 6:37 PM
Couldn't get through all the posts so maybe this is old news but the rumors out here are Skins are looking to trade to get Kwame Harris from the Niners. At least that's what Niners fans are saying.
Anyone heard anything?
Posted by: sfskin | September 10, 2007 6:39 PM
Holy shmokes the Gints are cooked! Could it get any worse for them? I was thinking Raiders had it bad but wow.
Good for us though right?
Posted by: sfskin | September 10, 2007 6:40 PM
Will they take BLloyd back?
Posted by: Anonymous | September 10, 2007 6:40 PM
I'm at my last nerve with the Receiver. I know you guys have hashed it out on him already but #@($*&@(%&@#($%&@#(*$ is all I can think to say.
I mean do you even trust this guy to put him on the field to prove himself at this point? That INT was a JOKE! I could have caught that ball and while I'm tall I'm a vaugely outta shape nice white lady who never played football seriously in any way shape or form.
Posted by: sfskin | September 10, 2007 6:43 PM
I need the experts in the room to please please please explain to me the thousand yard cushion our CBs seem to be giving receivers. I remember this from last year.
What is the strategy?
Posted by: sfskin | September 10, 2007 6:44 PM
Finally I thought Soups showed the promise we all think he has. He hurled the ball around like a drunken Scotsman with a tree but I'm guessing adrenaline + his height + his strenght + his youth = bullets that can be controlled with time.
Posted by: sfskin | September 10, 2007 6:45 PM
I found this on a 49ers blog over on Sportsline.com.
"Redskins starting right tackle, Jon Jansen, was seriously hurt in week 1. he might be out for the season. u think we should try to trade them harris (who might not even suit up for today's game) and try to get a draft pick or two from them?"
No further evidence yet.

Hi I'm skippy. I have a metal plate in my head and I really really like Lemon meringue pie.
So what's the deal with Brenda Lloyd. Anyway? He ax like he doesn't know and he doesn't care, leading me to enquire, is he ignorant or indifferent?
He didn't even jump to try to defect that intercepto. And then he chased the intercepto like he had a toad in his pants.
But skippy has the solution to the enema within the condom within the basilicus that is Brando Linda?
Football is like the military except you don't have to play overseas games where they don't speak English. In other words, if Bimbo Lando are given a direvt odor by Joe Gobbs, and he disobeyed it, they could shoot him, for deoilation of dooby, right?
Sp make him a wedge burster on speckledl teams.
Skippy may have mental in his dome, but he isn't as dumb as the next guy. Not on this forum. Anyway?

sfskin - Only looks like an internet rumor that only SF fans are talking about since Jansen got hurt. I think we're good with Wade and Heyer but I did notice that this guy is in the last year of his contract so he could be a good FA pick up next year.

They were showing the highlights of Sav Rocca's first game here on the news last night. I found it funny, as he was setting up the commentator (Have no idea who it was) says "Here's the Aussie rookie Sav Rocca, and he has to be the biggest punter I've ever seen, he looks like he's about 6'3"!" Then the other commentator says " Ah actually he's 6'5" 265lbs!"

Thanks for the nice game summary butt holes.

Kost - meanwhile they spent at least 5-10 minutes on every other game. I just don't get the lack of love for the Skins over there on ESPN.
Posted by: bigfish | September 10, 2007 8:07 PM
maybe 5-10 minutes is stretching it but you get what I'm sayin.
Posted by: bigfish | September 10, 2007 8:08 PM
Not only that, but I reckon I saw Randy Moss TD's 4 or 5 times. Then halfway through they do this Reset crap where they replay the highlights of the games which they had on at the start of the show!
I understand that there is a lot of sport going on, which they are trying to get through, but 1 kick? That's ridiculous.
I'm going to write them a letter!

CJ needs to slow it down. The guy I'm playing FF tonight has him on his team.

Not one mention of CP's return to form w/ no preseason or his TD run.
Not one mention of ARE blowing away his career marks in receiving yards.
Not even one mention of our so called "lack luster" D rising to the challenge, picking up 2 sacks and a TO which were lacking last year.
They didn't even show the almost amazing hail mary.
Posted by: bigfish | September 10, 2007 8:18 PM
Not to mention, they didn't even show our star tackle going down with a season ending injury. I'm SJKed!

Posted by: bigfish | September 10, 2007 8:42 PM
After the 2 injuries, the achilles and now this you have to wonder if Jansen might not finish up as a backup? I think Wade is it and they go out and look for another tackle either for the roster or practice squad. Next year I think its almost a lock that they draft a tackle in the upper rounds. If can find any available with their picks. The DL has been helped but they may still be looking there. But given JlC's "glowing" comments about the Brandon Lloyd wide receiver is definitely going to be a target. 12 mill guaranteed. I'd still cut the guy just to set the right example. They asked guys to leave who fought their guts out and you keep that guy? For financial reasons only? Its a terrible system if that can happen to any team.
As we listen to stoked up niner fans laughing their sjk's off at us for picking up Brandon "the red-finned tuna" Lloyd.
