Wet field. The key is gonna be tackling well on the passes inside 15 yards. Sure wish they had Marcus out there.

Johnny on the Spot Jasno.
How's that Lambeau beer?
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 12:02 PM
Tyler Ecker has to be worried about Cody Boyd learning the playbook.
Also, what position did we sign DeMulling to play? Offensive Impediment? Maybe he blocks well.
Posted by: dcsween | October 14, 2007 12:05 PM
Still don't think ARE should be returning punts today. Surprise us and put in Lloyd.
Also, with Packers O-line polka dosie doe (sp.), I'm thinking about 4 false starts on the Pack O-line, esp. with some anticipatable fake blitzes from G. Williams.
Posted by: dcsween | October 14, 2007 12:07 PM
Where's Kili Lefotu? I thought he might play...
Hungover?
Still in the pokey?
Posted by: GAD | October 14, 2007 12:09 PM
All this Fox pregame crap is about Dallas/NE. The are compelled to switch to Skins/Packers, aren't they?
Posted by: dcsween | October 14, 2007 12:11 PM
OK, I'm OK with monoblogging for a while. I'm guessing that Fox didn't bother to "refocus group" that transformer guy on the lefthand side of the screen ... just went straight to the producers of the movie to buy the ad space. That thing has to be done after this year.
Posted by: dcsween | October 14, 2007 12:15 PM
why do they always bring up Gibbs'all time records? I know he's St. Joe and can do no wrong, but when they tell me he's 30-6 all time against NFC North teams I have to think....
The NFC North didn't exist in Gibbs 1.0
The teams that are currently in the NFC North are totally different (make-up wise)after 2 decades (plus they don't get to play the Bucs 2x a year)
1991 season:
Detroit Lions 12-4
Chicago Bears 11-5
Minnesota Vikings 8-8
Green Bay Packers 4-12
(Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-13) Now in the NFC South
You just can't say Joe Gibbs is 30-6 vs. the NFC North all time... its apples and oranges.

MW with hamstring problems on a wet field?? Uh oh. I hope nothing happens more to it.
Posted by: charlie | October 14, 2007 12:19 PM
Hey aren't we supposed to be on that gametime chat instead?
Posted by: charlie | October 14, 2007 12:21 PM
charlie, i was thinking about that game chat. did anybody try it out last week? what's the format like?
Posted by: dcsween | October 14, 2007 12:23 PM
Dorf,
"They" also have been commenting all week that the Skins have not beat the Packers in AGES and that we have been outscored 67-9 in our last few games against them.
In fact, Merrill Hoge said this morning on NFL Matchup that the Packers D is "brilliant" and that "young Jason Campbell" is going to have a rough day.
Posted by: Lisa | October 14, 2007 12:25 PM
I also watched Comcast pregame ish this morning with Ray Brown and Chick Hernandez (I hate that guy).
It has to be the worst produced sports show I've seen. A lot of awkward pauses while the visuals and cut-aways are segued. No chemistry between the two guys (CH is annoying and Ray Brown is boring) Ug. That's why I don't watch pregame shows. Should have gone to church instead.
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 12:27 PM
It doesn't look this way in interviews, but there are something about Jason Campbell's eyes when he has a helmet on ... its like he has eye liner on or something ... looks like a dragon or a demon or something. Just noticed this, not man-loving on the guy (not that there's anything WRONG with that!).

Do you think the Fox guys have to come in early to do pre-game for every game that's shown locally around the country (with a tape delay so that it looks like its live before the game)? Or do you think this is actually the second biggest game this weekend (i.e., the two teams with one loss, after the two undefeated teams)?
Posted by: dcsween | October 14, 2007 12:31 PM
What do "they" know Lisa?
Go Skins.
Also, my parents have the NFL Network and I have to say its pretty good... but what do they do in the offseason? Show old games?
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 12:31 PM
Hola blog. Just getting caught up from one hell of a birthday weekend. Ready to watch the Skins whip up on the cheeseheads.
HTTR!!
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 12:38 PM
Just switched to FOX... the 1st thing I see is the Pats/Cowboys pornography. Ug.
This game needs to be done and over with?
Jimmy Johnson just made a TO joke about him dropping his popcorn. Great.
Getcha Cheese Wedge ready!

Big game, could actually get some national attention if we take down the "great Fauvre" blahh. I hate that washed up dude being shoved down my throat ass the greatest thing ever.. Madden seems to want to marry the guy.
Running game needs to show up and Cooley will be open so needs a big game.
Hope Brett's old ass doesn't prove me wrong.

Cindy, any details on the Kili Lefotu Incident? It's got to either be a fight over a girl or a fight over booze. I'm betting on the girl. Is he still in the klink?
In times of distress, I often ask myself, "What would Kili do?" Now I know.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 1:00 PM
What a combination Diddy. I've got my pint of Double Chocolate Stout and after that I'll be breaking into the 6 pack of Hobgoblen Dark English Ale.
Go Skins!!!

What happened with Kili? He's on the practice squad.
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 1:01 PM
Gametime chat is boring. The action is wherever Cindy is. If this game turns into a blowout, we should all go over to the Bog and say hi.
I love this Kinko's commercial..."Sue, you're in charge of waffling."
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 1:01 PM
c dub, As soon as this game is over I'm hopping right back on the Favre wagon. How can you hate that guy?
Until then:

I like how they have Troy doing the game.
FedEx/Kinkos commercial is hilarious.

Is it me, or have punters in the NFL become a lot more adept at landing balls inside the 20? I wonder what the league-wide stats are on that...
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 1:10 PM

Well, Favre and the Pack did a nice job there.
On another matter, I see your Calvin Schiraldi and raise you one Bruce Hurst.
Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 1:20 PM
Double Move didn't get burned. He missed a tackle. Rocky McIntosh missed his assignment because the TE was lined up in the backfield and ran that route up the seam.

Wise flew into GB this morning from Minny and sends me this post on his conversation with the pilot:
He said he wants my job and was horribly dismayed that I wasn't sure whether Randle El was playing. "That's like me not knowing whether the wings are de-iced," he said. Funny guy.

DC Noodle is looking pretty good.
Posted by: SMACK | October 14, 2007 1:31 PM
Dorf - I was thinking the same about Cooley being slow but after watching the replay it didn't look too bad. Maybe because the replay was in slow motion:-)
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 1:31 PM
Hester got an 89 yard punt return for a TD.
Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 1:32 PM
No, JC showed really good patience, saw nothing open in the endzone, and rambled in. Not exactly graceful, but it got the job done. Flag on the play was Illegal Contact on the D, declined, obviously.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 1:32 PM
Damn! wished Cooley scored he's my starting TE in my FFL and I need some points, too many player injured or on bye weeks
Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 1:32 PM
Cooley did seem horrendously slow, but that's why he's not a WR!
Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 1:32 PM
Both Soups and Cooley looked a little stumbly bumbly but I'll take the stumbly bumbly TD.
HAIL HAIL HAIL!!
Hey was it me or did Favre use the ref as a nice pick on one of his dink/dunks earlier? He's one of the best at that.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 1:32 PM
dorf,
I don't know about slow, but it looked like Cooley started his stumble at the 30.
others - 89 yrd TD return by Hester, made the first 4 dudes miss, then off to the races. Sick.

Posted by: waiting since 92 | October 14, 2007 1:34 PM
Hester is amazing. But this is the end of his career. Always feel like when a guy has big year or two of returns they then inevitably disappear. Remember KC - what was his name?
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 1:35 PM
So if you're playing the Bears, shouldn't you just go for every 4th down? Why bother to punt?
Adam
Posted by: EaglesFan | October 14, 2007 1:35 PM

Adam
Posted by: EaglesFan | October 14, 2007 1:36 PM
SMACK... that was very nice. You're a classy guy.
Are the Pack putting 8 in the box? We're still running on them
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 1:36 PM
JC holding the ball far too long on that. Intentional grounding.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 1:37 PM
speed of erosion - LOL!
What's up with ads? Isn't this the national game and therefore lots o'ads? Or do they want to get it over so Cowpukes and NE?

Nice clip of Favre's first ever NFL pass...against the 'Skins at RFK in that 55-10 win over the Falcons in 1991. Picked off, Andre Collins with the TD :-)

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 1:43 PM
Non, sfskin. Our guy is on le bench today. Still plenty of weeks for him to come in and lead the league in receiving.

NICE D! Praline! They are running around like headless chickens!
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 1:51 PM

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 1:51 PM
Great D but for one missed tackle!
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 1:51 PM

Great D but for one missed tackle!
And one dropped INT.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 1:53 PM
Jerome, you'll talk a big game and do nothing. God, I love that commercial.
55-10 was the score of the 49ers game a couple of years ago, right?
That 56-17 game was something else...ah, the memories. That 1991 team was very special, and we all knew it. Yet after that miserable pre-season, lotsa people calling into Ken Beatrice's show calling for St. Joe to be fired. Heathens.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 1:53 PM
Actually, Gibbs does apper to be coaching....he turned around and was talking to a player a little while ago.
Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 1:54 PM
So, CP gets a 20 yard gain and Aikman says, "Portis isn't running like we've seen." You're right, he's getting positive yardage.
I love Troy, but F Troy!
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 1:55 PM

Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 1:57 PM
How does Green Bay get the ball? That will be challenged.

I so was NOT at that 1991 game. I was at the Atlanta game in 1993. It was also a win but not nearly as exciting. I wish it were th 1991 game.
Ummm jump ball! That's ours dagnabit!
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 1:57 PM
GB has two studs at CB. Gonna have to win this one with CP/Betts and Cooley.
Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 1:57 PM
I think you have to challenge that
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 1:57 PM
Santana stinking up the joint...2nd drop passed by him
This time for an interception
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 1:58 PM
I don't know how that's an INT. Amazing.
Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 1:59 PM
We need to get fired up!
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 1:59 PM
Yeah Aikman is a huge tool.
Gibbs is hot under da collah today! I like it!
That was so our ball. Stupid refs! Stupid Aikman. Shut up.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 1:59 PM
Conspiracy theory...Favre's last year....refs doing everything (maybe unconsciously) to get him one last shot at the Super Bowl.
Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 2:00 PM
The ball was a little high, but what's up w/ Santana that he can't catch anything this season? Brunell's passes were not always on the money, but he never seemed to have an issue hauling the ball in.
Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 2:00 PM
D looking strong. Favre looking weak.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:00 PM
Looks like The October Brett Favre is rearing his head.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:01 PM
3 and out. Great D. Offense was cooking, just needs to finish.
This should be holding, not roughing the kicker...
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:01 PM
Other can Carlos Rogers miss tackle, D is playing well.
But no production from offense from either Moss or Randle El.
Maybe they are coming back when they aren't ready. Especially Moss looks like he's half asleep out there.
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 2:01 PM
Nice D! We need to get Moss some short passes to get his confidence back. Seems like everything being thrown his way is overthrown or not exactly on target.
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:01 PM
46 degrees and rainy. Not ideal conditions for airing it out.
Maybe this will be a "hogs" type game.
Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 2:02 PM
Umm Soups is gigantic! He's towering over all the WRs and I noticed he has very large feet . . . .
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:02 PM
Moss, ARE having off days. Good change for Brandon Lloyd to step up with a big day. Did he make the trip?
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:03 PM
I was just teaching The Captain how to use his new iPod I got him for his birthday... so I missed the interception... that was lame. Moss is struggling.
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 2:03 PM
Pass protection - Ugh!
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:04 PM
Big feet=big brain.
On another note, Fred Willard is soooo funny.
Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 2:04 PM
Offensive line getting tossed around like ragdolls today. This guy #74 is stealing Wade's lunch money today.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:04 PM
Sheesh Todd Wade is getting handled like my dog handles a squeakly toy. Ugh.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:05 PM
Lloyd. Brandon was so open on that play if the pass protection would have held up.
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:05 PM
Good job by Weird Al there...ran a little waggle right to get Campbell out of the pocket and give him some time.
Illegal Contact on the Peckers, first down 'Skins.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:06 PM
Aaron Kampman is no slouch. Guy had 15 1/2 sacks last year.
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:07 PM
Cute...handoff to Betts, run right on that old Packers sweep. Of course, they ran right, so minimal gain. Ugh.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:07 PM
Wow all the 1pm games are sluggish in scores except Cleveland over My Hammy.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:07 PM
Got to catch that
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 2:08 PM
WTF is going on with our receivers?
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:08 PM
Yet another drop by a WR....
Gibbs just bench Moss and ARE...obvious they are not healthy.
Play "the reciever"..at least he's got a better shot at catching
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 2:08 PM
Our receivers are killing us.
Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 2:08 PM
Man. So close, but no cigar. Anywhere -- D, O, or special teams.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:08 PM
I think we are due for an INT for TD
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 2:08 PM
The line is playing like crap, so our receivers have got to help out by catching the damn ball. Grrrrrrrr......
Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 2:09 PM
Miami getting destroyed.
Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 2:10 PM
Ugh, Ugh, Ugh, Ugh, Ugh!!!!!!!!!!1
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:10 PM
Seem to me to be a "Art Monk" type of game. Think you need to get McCardell some time
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 2:10 PM
Two drops by Taylor. He must be working out with Carlos.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:10 PM
can we get a break? Dropped passes? Missed punt grounding on the 1 yard line... Missed INT?
Lets get it going.
Favre is giving Sean Taylor the record! Take it!
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 2:11 PM
Is it possible the WRs are worried about footing and that's contributing to drops? Wet field + tender hammy = lack of focus on the ball.
Reaper! He's gotta get one right?
Defense is playing monster game and Favre is helping, rushing it too much.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:11 PM
D holds AGAIN. Offense needs to get it together.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:11 PM
Is it just me or Betts completely suck since he got the big contract...
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 2:11 PM
Gotta score by halftime. If we do, the Packers probably won't come out for the second half. Favre will be waiting for the social security office to open on Monday.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:12 PM
CP quietly getting some major yards.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:12 PM
It's just you. Betts hasn't had enough carries to do anything, including sucking.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:12 PM
I think that Betts has been consistent. I think we are just seeing how much better Portis is. We didn't have him last year to compare to Betts
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 2:13 PM
Definitely some Cooley fans in GB for this game.
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:13 PM
Well, Betts was the primary back when he racked up those yards. Coming off the bench, he's not so good.
COOOOOLEY with the reception. Again, great game for #47. It's going to be a CP/Cooley game.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:13 PM
Thank goodness for Cooley. At least *he* wants to catch the damn ball today. Hell, even Portis can catch today. I agree they should throw McCardell in for a bit. The other receives aren't catching the ball, so their speed is a non-factor.
Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 2:14 PM
That FRiday's food always looks so good on TV, so bad at Friday's. They must film those commercials in a real restaurant.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:15 PM
Betts is CP's back-up for a reason. He's good but he ain't Portis.
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:15 PM
Wade benched or injury? Heyer in.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:15 PM
Heyer will take us higher!
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:16 PM
Why is Heyer in the game? What happened to Wade?
Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 2:16 PM
Heyer for Wade!!! F Jasno! I believe in this kid!
Posted by: waiting since 92 | October 14, 2007 2:16 PM
Betts is reading the blog and just made his statement :-)
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:17 PM
Wade was getting beaten like a drum.
Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 2:17 PM
fish,
Aikman said Wade pulled a groin, presumably his own.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:18 PM
Diddy, do you beat your "Lucky Dog" when the Skins lose?
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 2:18 PM
Philawarepragicago is my favorite of those commercials. That smug little college kid cracks me up.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:18 PM
Heyer - hopefully this is his breakout game. Seems to be handling it better than Wade.
Gotta score here. But also gotta stop Favre from theatric score in two minute drill.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:18 PM
Nobody is bringing me beer so I had to go get one - what did Betts do?
Posted by: mmok | October 14, 2007 2:18 PM
Wade was getting beaten like a drum.
Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 02:17 PM
More like a meat
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:19 PM
Once again I ask - how often do you flip your truck upside down and thus need stuff tied down that well?
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:19 PM
Yes, Dorf. He's a little dropkick dog (Yorkie). I usually stick a pole up his butt and mop my hardwood floors with him.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:19 PM
Charles Woodson is, what, 60 years old?
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:20 PM
Just don't pull something like the Cal Bears did last night.
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 2:20 PM
Oops. Heyer missed a block there.
Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 2:20 PM
beep beep
Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 2:21 PM
Aikman is freakin' schizo in his commentary!
Team is good. Team is bad. RB is good. RB is bad. WR is good. WR is bad. I can't decide.
Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 2:21 PM
This #74 guy for the Packers is single-handedly killing the 'Skins offensive line. Not much pressure from anywhere else.
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:22 PM
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLEY!!!!!!!!
Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 2:22 PM
Cooley finally having a break out game
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 2:22 PM

Whoever has Cooley in the fantasy league is happier than a pig in you know what...
Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 2:22 PM
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLEEEEEEEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HB pass right here
Posted by: Mofass | October 14, 2007 2:23 PM
awesome!! You guys hear our fans singin 'Hail to the Redskins' in the background?! HTTR!
Posted by: waiting since 92 | October 14, 2007 2:23 PM
I guess the Packers should have somebody check 47. He's playing great, but he's consistently being left wide open.
Posted by: tmc | October 14, 2007 2:23 PM
sfskin... I liked the commercial a few years back that had the truck driving vertically up a mountain cliff and on the bottom in tiny print was "Dramatization".
Ya think?
COOOOOOOOOOOOOLEY!
Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 2:23 PM
....hail victory...
Posted by: Mofass | October 14, 2007 2:23 PM

Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 2:28 PM
YES!!!
Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 2:30 PM
Moss stop being a bum. Thx
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 2:49 PM
Lloyd > Moss today
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 2:50 PM
Typical....Betts suck. Therefore let's get more touches for Betts
Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 2:51 PM
We need a turnover here
Posted by: gatorskinz2000 | October 14, 2007 2:56 PM
