Rabach Groin Strain

His return is questionable. The O Line is getting decimated by injuries. Yikes.

Stretch!!! Hammies & groins... stretch!!!!!

Posted by: Alan | October 14, 2007 3:31 PM

Here we go. Come on O - steady steady go.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:32 PM

If you pull hammies when its 88, then when its 40 pulled muscles are easy.

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 3:33 PM

Flock!

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:33 PM

3 and out. Giants game redux...I'm going to find the Mylanta right now.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:33 PM

i hate woodson

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:34 PM

It looked like someone grabbed Portis's face mask on that last run.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:34 PM

These Madden Verizon commercials are awesome.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:35 PM

No, it was his shoulder.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:36 PM

Bruce Campbell's Old Spice commercials are great too.

I don't remember seeing any Manning commercials today...

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:36 PM

Okay D here we go steady steady turnover.

*deep deep sigh*

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:36 PM

MORE penalties. Ugh. Double Move.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:37 PM

#22 is NOT an NFL corner

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:37 PM

The FIX is in. I don't see anything wrong with Wade or with Rabach.

I do see all kinds of garbage calls and no calls. Obvious face masks not being called. Phantom holding calls. The Thrash pass 41 yards called back for what??

The tie reception Randle EL, goes against the NFL rule and is awarded to the Packers, with NO challenge possible. WTF!@ Santana Moss is either a peice of SJK or he is going to get a big check in his mailbox sometime soon. He looks like a cheater, drops, fumbles, the whole nine.

Posted by: DTC | October 14, 2007 3:39 PM

I'm putting the laptop down... see you guys later

Posted by: Dorf | October 14, 2007 3:39 PM

F 22!!!!!!!!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:40 PM

ANOTHER flag on Double Move.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:40 PM

Taylor has dropped three today. Horrible.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:40 PM

Almost lost my lunch there. Okay come on come on!

WOOHOO!! LET'S GO REDSKINS! LET'S GO REDSKINS!

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:41 PM

How can you give up down 3 with 11:00 left, Dorf? We need you here in the RI!!

heh

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 3:41 PM

ohhh c'mon! there's like 10 minutes left. have some fait in JC and cooley

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:41 PM

F 22!!!!!!!!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 03:40 PM

ANOTHER flag on Double Move.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 03:40 PM

Dudes. You were both wrong. Too much #22 hate between you.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:41 PM

DTC, you're right. A vast conspiracy is at work. Tom Cruise will defeat Hillary Clinton in 2008 and instead of every American getting $5000, we'll all get couches. TCCLs all around!

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:42 PM

talent evaluator, we're not hating on #22 the opposing QBs and OCs are hatin on #22. obviously they see something there

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:43 PM

t-e, I don't hate ANY player. I needle Receiver, The. But I love them all. #22 does find himself getting picked on all the time, but that's because #24 is actually really good.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:43 PM

I don't even know what to say.

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 3:43 PM

I'm going to puke.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:43 PM

positive thoughts! only down by 3 on the road against 'keep throwing' Brett Farve. Score!

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 3:43 PM

GB has fumbled 3 times, lost none. The Redskins have fumbled twice, lost one. That's the difference right now.

Posted by: Alan | October 14, 2007 3:44 PM

POrtis fumbles. Must be Saunders fault for calling his number.

I actually think Gibbs has taken over the play calling with all these lame go-nowhere runs.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:44 PM

Okay I did just lose my lunch.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:44 PM

2 out of the 'Skins big 3 stars have fumbled this game away. Unreal.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:44 PM

My guess is they will stack the box because they don't have to fear our wideouts.

Gonna have to get back to Cooley. He's been quiet in the 2nd half.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 3:44 PM

well....if you keep running to the left...that's where the whole D's gonna be

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:44 PM

Make that 4 fumbles and 2 losses.

Posted by: Alan | October 14, 2007 3:45 PM

F positive thoughts.

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 3:45 PM

Can you say "ball handling drills next week?"

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 3:45 PM

Refs missed ANOTHER call there. Good for us, but, seriously...

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:45 PM

Smoot should have intercepted that ball. He would have if he would have had his head turned around. We got lucky on that call.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:46 PM

Uh, that was a touchdown.

Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 3:46 PM

Time to hit mute button to calm myself down. Totally irrational I know but I can't listen. Watch sure but not listen.

Dodged a bullet on that endzone play.

Ugh.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:46 PM

Actually both teams have fumbled 3 times. GB lost none, the Skins lost 2. That's just dumb luck for GB.

Posted by: Alan | October 14, 2007 3:47 PM

i know one thing...that wasn't all portis's fault. he should've just taken a knee cuz the D was waiting for him but like the good soldier he is he tried to make something out of it.

i'm telling you...i'm never gonna let my wife sit with me again...

skins got a call

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:48 PM

This is the beinning of the end...Portis is Fumbling, the O-line is in absolute tatters, defenders SHOULD NOT be behind the line already on a deep sweep.

I agree with Greg Williams, I am sick of excuses from the Miami crew, putting our defense in bad spots.

Posted by: DTC | October 14, 2007 3:48 PM

Defense holds again. WOW.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:48 PM

Nice job, D.

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 3:48 PM

Way to go CANADIA!!!

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:48 PM

We needed that. Go Chris Wilson! Who?

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:48 PM

Doink! No good!

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:49 PM

OH MY GAWD! How lucky was that!

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:49 PM

man, i hope that the media gives both clinton portis and santana moss hell. both of these players should not be in the game and i am not sure that they should start next week. they suck, i hate them, and we all should as well. they are good for nothing fools that give far less than 100% in a game. give mike sellers the ball, or even ladell betts or rock cartwright, but trade clinton

Posted by: A Redskins Fan | October 14, 2007 3:49 PM

WOO!!

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:49 PM

okay boys...no harm no foul...LET's GO JC and CP!!! let's go patched up o-line!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:49 PM

to quote line a great movie "inconceivable"

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 3:49 PM

'Skins get so many opportunities. Now the O has to capitalize. Maybe a goat can redeem himself.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:49 PM

clinton's got no trade value.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 3:50 PM

Keenan McCardell in there now, 1 catch.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:50 PM

look, even 49 year olds can make simple catches. trade santana NOW

Posted by: A Redskin Fan | October 14, 2007 3:50 PM

Back to positive thoughts. Should have been 7 only 0. Huge!

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 3:50 PM

Thank goodness for the old dude.

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 3:51 PM

Another one - McCardell signing looks huge about now.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:51 PM

The run is not there today.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:51 PM

Another catch for McCardell.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:51 PM

WOOOOO HOOOOO they ran right,,,,

Now thats gonna confuse everyone !!!

Posted by: Ian/ London Uk | October 14, 2007 3:51 PM

Old Man River! Way to go McCardell!

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:52 PM

almost!!!

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 3:52 PM

Receiver, The...OH SO CLOSE!!!!!!!

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:52 PM

You can't blame that all on Lloyd!

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:53 PM

I think "A Redskin Fan" is actually a Cowboys, Giants, or Eagles fan. But the posts are quite comical!

Posted by: Alan | October 14, 2007 3:53 PM

Breathe I need to remember to breathe.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:53 PM

good thing santanas not in the game. those would have been 2 dropped passes right thur

Posted by: A Redskin Fan | October 14, 2007 3:53 PM

ian, i'm with you man! i don't know why they think it's okay to run left 90% of the time

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:53 PM

Another bad Al Saunders call. He knew Jason would throw the ball too far and that Lloyd would not catch it. Should have run Portis to the right.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:55 PM

Time to give it Sellers. Poor clock management with the TO's being taken right now.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:55 PM

sjk game mgmt again!!!!!!!

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 3:55 PM

Without sound it looks like mass confusion on the sideline.

SELLERS SELLERS SELLERS SELLERS

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:55 PM

spread them wide with 4/5 WR set and run it!!!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:55 PM

Coooooley, 2 yards short.

Here we go. Ballgame right here?

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 3:55 PM

not sayin its right, but they run left behind the starters samuels and kendall... the right side is all backups

Posted by: jts | October 14, 2007 3:55 PM

why won't we run??

Posted by: mmok | October 14, 2007 3:56 PM

Sellers up the middle...gotta go for it..

Posted by: X | October 14, 2007 3:56 PM

Why throw the ball short of the 1st down on 4th and 2? I'm going to be sick again.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 3:56 PM

NOT LIKE THAT! RUN! Or over the middle!

)@(#*$()@#*$()@#*$)(@#*$()@#

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 3:56 PM

ladell sucks!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:56 PM

bad execution.... still plenty of time.. go D

Posted by: jts | October 14, 2007 3:56 PM

Nice play call...why not kick the damn FG and tie..NOOOOOO lets lose the game right now!

Posted by: Leevi | October 14, 2007 3:57 PM

Another bad call by Saunders. He knew that Campbell would throw to Betts and not an open McCardell.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:57 PM

Nice play call...why not kick the damn FG and tie..NOOOOOO lets lose the game right now!

Posted by: Leevi | October 14, 2007 3:57 PM

Great f*ckin play calling gibbs. godd*mn i hope he retires

Posted by: A Redskins Fan | October 14, 2007 3:57 PM

Crikey!

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 3:57 PM

looks like it's about to be over...D is giving up

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:58 PM

W T F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: X | October 14, 2007 3:58 PM

groan.... what a great drive, sike

Posted by: mrm0to | October 14, 2007 3:58 PM

Another blown game thanks to AL.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 3:58 PM

looks like it's about to be over...D is giving up

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 03:58 PM

That's pretty low to accuse them of giving up.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 3:59 PM

still plenty of time.. GB can't run the clock out.. their rushing attack is too crappy... keep the faith men!

Posted by: jts | October 14, 2007 3:59 PM

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 3:59 PM

The Reaper with the pick. DON'T LATERAL THE BALL!!!!!

Cardiac kids. OH MY GOD.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

I just called it! ANd then I had a heart attack! DON'T LATERAL!

Call 911!

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

Nice INT Reaper but we gave up 10 yards on the toss back to Fletcher.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

Took a sec to go to Bucs-Titans. JFish and Chuckie both getting a little fat....They look like they're coaching in the Paunch Bowl.

Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

So, Taylor's two for five.

Dealer,

That flat out shows what you're made of in calling the defense quitters.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

to take a break from bashing my team, does any one else see how soft favre's arm has gotten?

Posted by: A Redskins Fan | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

Jesus

Can Al's unit be any more incompetent

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

okay...skins aren't winning this game...it's over! they're just too silly with the ball...

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:00 PM

wtf with the fumbles.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 4:01 PM

Lateral shows a defense that has no hope in the O.

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 4:01 PM

Yay offense

Drop passes - Check
fumbles - Check
Dumb playcalls - Check
Fall down for no reason - Check

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:01 PM

portis and moss are HORRIBLE today

Posted by: jts | October 14, 2007 4:01 PM

footing sucks, everyone keeps slipping

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 4:01 PM

If you hear a scream that's me throwing myself out the window.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:01 PM

Favre sucks... we should be up by 21 pts right now.

Posted by: X | October 14, 2007 4:01 PM

Kampman with the sack again. Punt this away and play D again. Packers can't run the ball. Not out of it yet.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:02 PM

Another bad Saunders call. He should have known that Portis would fall down on a screen to the right.

And again! He knew Campbell would get sacked.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 4:02 PM

The Defenestration of San Francisco

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:02 PM

we look like a dome team

Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 4:02 PM

Another year without the playoffs...at least we have our 1st round pick next year.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:02 PM

I am so glad I can only follow this on the computer or else I would be needing a new TV just about now.... god save us from ourselves !!!!

Posted by: ian/London Uk | October 14, 2007 4:02 PM

no breaks today.. even on the muff.... still not over.. GB can't run the ball

Posted by: jts | October 14, 2007 4:02 PM

Two guys jump the count no call.

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

1 TO left and 2 min warning not much hope left

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

It's time for danny boy to give gibbs the norv turner treatment.

Posted by: X | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

Call timeout!!!

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

THis is sick, though. Even if we win this game it doesn't vindicate St. Joe. They're still f'ing useless in the 2nd half.

Posted by: mrm0to | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

what are they doing??? USE THE TO!!!!

Posted by: jts | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

Boy - Those timeouts would be nice abut now Mr Gibbs. This is horrible.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

ohh my god talent evaluator, you're calling me out...booohoooo i'm gonna cry

dude, chill. favreh gave that ball up.

D isn't quitters but they're not robots...did you see the stats for the offense....last 8 possessions? c'mon dude...open you eyes!

and don't get a holier than thou attitude...everyone up here loves the skins the same...

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:03 PM

The offense has no heart this year.

They find ways to lose games.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:04 PM

GB gonna burn the clock with runs and our clock mgmt sucks

this is goin to be another nailbiter...hopefully we get close enough for a FG....

but the way it looks right now, we're toast

Posted by: waiting since 92 | October 14, 2007 4:04 PM

And... Troy Aikman is the color, right? He's calling out Gibbs every f'ing drive on bad clock. Ugh.

Posted by: mrm0to | October 14, 2007 4:04 PM

I hate this. We should win this game, but we we made too many mistakes

Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 4:04 PM

It's time for danny boy to give gibbs the norv turner treatment.

Posted by: X | October 14, 2007 04:03 PM

Right. How many passes did Gibbs drop? How many times did he fumble?

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 4:04 PM

Norv Turner was a better coach for us than Gibbs 2.0

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:05 PM

Seriously time for the Danny to change the name and call for a curse lifting ceremony. . . .and we need to practice playing in the rain . . . and catching the ball . . .and getting better shoes. . . .and play calling. . . .but it's definitley the curse.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:05 PM

Actually, the turnover ratio is 0. We have two picks, they have 2 fumble recoveries.

Saunders should have known this.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 4:06 PM

Jason Witten just got blown up by a 7 year old! Pansy Cowboys.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:06 PM

had to start Derek Anderson this since other QB has bye. 3 TDs and 245 yds

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 4:06 PM

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse. Then I have to see F-ing Jason Whitten

Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 4:06 PM

ok, is anyone else sick of having this f*ckin team break our hearts every season. i cant do it anymore. every game i get hyped up, and just about every game they let me down. gibbs needs to go, along with saunders, portis, and moss. sellers should be our main back, williams should be hc, and we should hire a young offensive mind to, you know, not make senile decisions at key times in the game. im sick of this bullsh*t, as we all should be, and i hope jlac asks coach difficult questions as to why his team sucks so bad.

Posted by: A Redskin Fan | October 14, 2007 4:06 PM

i actually liked the fact they didn't use the TO there...

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:07 PM

Portis can't run without falling down all over the place, get him otta there. Also, our whole offensive line is out.

Poor clock management by Joe. P=Diddy, give COach Joe and the staff a couple of TCCL's for putting their starting #1 WR (MOSS) on the bench, cause they don;t trust him.

Take a few conspiracy leaps on that!

Posted by: DTC | October 14, 2007 4:07 PM

73 sec and 60 yds to go

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 4:08 PM

Yes Virginia there is a Santa Clause - right? We would like a nice quick clean drive for a score right now please Mr. Santa Claus.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:08 PM

The funny thing is we're not in horrible shape right now, despite all the shabingi.

Posted by: farstriker | October 14, 2007 4:08 PM

Here we go, let's see if we can get the field goal!

Posted by: Fred | October 14, 2007 4:08 PM

The offense is led by a QB playing his 12th game, with an offensive lineman with ONLY 1 guy left who started at the onset of camp. Come on now. We ALL knew they were going to be inconsistent until later in the year. The good news is that the defense appears to be stout this season.

Remember, 9-7 will get you in the playoffs...

But enough of that...1:13 left, let's see what our young QB can do...

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:08 PM

big big big play by JC there!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:09 PM

But that assumes we can move the ball forward.

Posted by: farstriker | October 14, 2007 4:09 PM

Uummm...last I checked, the Packers were a good team. It's not like we are losing to the frickin' 'Fins.

Go cry somewhere else.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 4:10 PM

O-Line getting eaten alive. Chalk this one up for another 2nd half loss for Jasno to add to his stats.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 4:10 PM

Wow, this is dire.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:10 PM

Heyer out, Lorenzo in?
GAME OVER

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:10 PM

We now don't have an offensive line anymore. It's actually not there. It's gone.

Gone.
Gone.
Gone.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:10 PM

This is what happens when you play guys because of their name instead of how they are playing

Should have benched Moss in the 1st quarter

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:10 PM

Favre did absolutely NOTHING and we are going to lose.

Posted by: BT | October 14, 2007 4:11 PM

Nasty injury on Heyer. Hope he's not our for long.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 4:11 PM

Yeesh. Hester is nuts.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:11 PM

here come the false starts...they should just kneel...only samuels and pete kendall left on the o-line...wow!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:12 PM

On the bright side, I didnt pay for a ticket to watch this 2nd half debacle and England made the Rugby World cup final.
This is crap to watch happen....

I think someone needs to perhaps explain theat 2nd half adjustments are designed to Improve the team... How can we get worse in the second half so often. Its New York all over again

Posted by: Ian/London UK | October 14, 2007 4:13 PM

It's surprising we are only down by 3 based on this second half shabingus.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:13 PM

so we lost like 30 sec to crappy time mgmt

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 4:13 PM

GREAT GAME AL

GREAT GAME

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:13 PM

wow! i think the skins covered though!

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:14 PM

Bummer. There will always be games like this. Let's see if they bounce back at home.

It's been great BOGO with you guys as usual. I have to head down to Qwest Field to tailgate for tonight's snoozer of a game.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:14 PM

This makes the 4pm game painful.

*sigh*

Maybe Redskins will be better off firing Gibbs and Saunders. Hire an average Offensive coordinator and have Williams be the head coach

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:14 PM

very good comment by troy aikman there...about not knowing if the skins/packers are contenders or pretenders

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:15 PM

They are who we thought they were.

A mediocre team.

We let em' off the hook.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 4:15 PM

dont be fooled, santana moss and clinton portis are the SOLE reasons we lost. dont lets gibbs bullsh*t you otherwise. portis and moss lost us this game. both should be benched

Posted by: A Redskins Fan | October 14, 2007 4:16 PM

I think someone needs to perhaps explain theat 2nd half adjustments are designed to Improve the team... How can we get worse in the second half so often. Its New York all over again

Posted by: Ian/London UK | October 14, 2007 04:13 PM

In Gibbs 2.0 era, half time is usually a time for those Old farts to take a nap. Our opponents make adjustments at half time. Gibbs and Al take a nap so they can pretend to be awake on the sidelines in the second half.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:16 PM

Both teams played sloppy.

The difference was Moss. He gets a free pass because he is a Cowboy killer.

I won't give up on him.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 4:16 PM

Moss was horrible and he lost this game for the Skins. He needs to sit until he can play like a man again.

Yet another 2nd quater collapse by a team in control. Horrible coaching

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:17 PM

the O-line is just just Done by injuries....wow...no team can win with 4th stringer multiple lineman...yeah it sounds like an excuse but that's really tough...ohh well...let's hope everyone gets healthy up here...

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:17 PM

The difference? Both teams fumbled 4 times, but the Skins lost 2 (and 1 went the other way for a touchdown).

Posted by: Alan | October 14, 2007 4:17 PM

Wow, this was a terrible game. Terrible. My inclination is to fault coaching b/c I can't believe that guys just forget how to play at halftime. I don't know what it is but these 0-point 2nd halves are a joke.

Posted by: mrm0to | October 14, 2007 4:17 PM

I think Gibbs and Saunders get a lot out of the personnel they have. The guy to fire is the one who selected the offensive players. Is that Gibbs? Saunders? Cerrato? Snyder? I'd love to know. The offensive players, aside from Randle El, Campbell, and Cooley are not very inspiring.

Posted by: talent evaluator | October 14, 2007 4:17 PM

Where are all those idiots saying we should stick with Moss now....

If we have Lloyd, Caldwell, McCardell playing for Moss from the start, we win this game easy

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:17 PM

This is the season. They are who we thought they were which means every week is heart stopping and sometimes it's great and then it sucks.

So we're 3-2. I still take it. Did we stink up the joint like cat pee, helll yeah! But I keep the faith. You can clean up cat pee with the right stuff.

Its not catpee...its the old man pee from a leak in Joe gibbs diaper

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:19 PM

Once again we have the lead a halftime and come out in the second half and do NOTHING. The offense lost this game and they lost it in the second half. The dropped passes didn't help, but I think it's more than that. I drank the Joe Gibbs Kool Aid a loooooong time ago. But someone on the offensive side of the coaching staff ain't getting it done. Gibbs? Saunders?

Posted by: Mike Diamond | October 14, 2007 4:19 PM

i'm with the people calling for benchings of CP and moss. but only if they bring up marcus mason or sellers and make ARE #1 and cut #85 as well.

and yes, the score does indicate that Moss was the reason they lost the game and that play calling...wow...he really needs to be down on the field...what a clueless, clueless playcalling

Posted by: dealer | October 14, 2007 4:19 PM

Redskins are in deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppp trouble for the rest of the season. I love them but they suck. Also, Santana Moss is terrible.

Posted by: Mike | October 14, 2007 4:19 PM

i don't know about you guys, but i've never been so pissed after a game, no way do you lose this game, no way

Posted by: Uncle Spence | October 14, 2007 4:19 PM

This isn't about coaching. This is, purely and simply, about mistakes. Any objective person watching this game would say the Redskins are better. Better on defense and offense. Turnovers, three dropped interceptions by Taylor, 498 dropped passes. Moss and Portis having the worst game of their lives. Not to mention another offensive lineman going down on every play, which gave Campbell no time to throw.

I actually feel good about the Skins after this. They CLEARLY outplayed GB, but handed them the game on a platter. They won't make that many mistakes again all year.

The question now is, who plays offensive line?

Posted by: Keithinator | October 14, 2007 4:19 PM

Space Cowboy loses another 2nd half lead.

We should be 5-0

I feel sick.

Posted by: Ricky Bobby | October 14, 2007 4:19 PM

Gibbs and Saunders don't touch the defense. So the defense gave us every chacne to win with the exception of last year where Gibbs decided to bring in Archuleta...

Offense is Giibs and Saunders all teh way. No one else to blame.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:20 PM

Favre has never lost to the Redskins.

F Favre.

Posted by: SCSkins | October 14, 2007 4:20 PM

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 4:21 PM

O-line continues to be destroyed and Gibbs still does not know how to manage the clock. This was an embarassing lost.

Didn't you say this after the giants game where Porits fumbled away the Win

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:21 PM

The Redskins can't win close games. I think they SHOULD have won both the Giants and this game.

The players simply don't beleive in Gibbs and the Space Cowboys. Gibbs playcalling and clock management stink. I have never seen a team slip and fall down so much. Anything goes wrong and Portis and Moss start choking and whining. THe offense is consistently a major weakness. I am sick of it.

The offensive line conditioning is awful.

Moss - 50%
Gibbs and Saunders for not benching Moss and horrible play calling - 25%
Portis for his fumble that killed drive and eat up the clock - 25%

Santana sucks. Hasn't done anything this year except cost us a game.

That was the worst game I've seen by a set of refs in years, against both teams. Did anyone catch the blown offsides call that should've been made against the Packers late in the 4th.

Posted by: Icarus | October 14, 2007 4:25 PM

The first quarter of the season was 3-1. I figured we'd be in good shape if we came out of the 2nd quarter of the season at least 2-2, which would make us no worse than 5-3 at the midway point.

No need to hit the panic button yet. But, they should have won that game handily, even with a makeshift Oline. Our receivers were pure crap today. Absolute crap. I still can't believe how badly Santana played.

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 4:26 PM

Great game for the Reaper.
I thought Moss's groin was hurt, not his hands. Thay play killed us, why call that play when up by 4 on their side of the field with second and 5. The offense should have showed fight enough to recover from it though. Bad showing offense.

Posted by: ross | October 14, 2007 4:26 PM

Can we excise that stupit WR reverse from the playbook? Will anyone miss 1 page out of 700? I think every time I've seen it it's been a loss and today was just heartbreaking.

Posted by: mrm0to | October 14, 2007 4:27 PM

People, take a knee. Breathe slowly. Relax. The Redskins lost by three after playing a horrific offensive game. The defense was sensational (minus Sean Taylor's continuous problems catching the ball.) Jason Campbell is the truth. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot time after time, we win.

We'll be OK, assuming the line injuries aren't too serious. If they are, all bets are off.

But for pete's sake, calm down! I can't stand this "They're the best!" after every win and "They're the worst!" after every loss. Get a grip.

Posted by: Keithinator | October 14, 2007 4:27 PM

I absolutely feel sick...700 play and we get this S$#@ every week, $10M in coaching salaries and we dont know how to call timeouts or manage the clock period, $10M in wide receiver bonuses and we cant catch or hold onto the ball...I say we fire Bubba Tyer - we obviously dont know how to train, stretch or condition these players well at all...I have never seen so many hamstring, groin injuries ever - I think are losing the confidence of our players due to poor handling of plays, players and injuries.

Posted by: mhartz25 | October 14, 2007 4:28 PM

santana moss is a punk clown who was a one hit wonder. that one season was good only because defenses didnt prepare for him. he sucks as a number one. he sucked as a #3 with the Jets for christ sake. just another stupid personell decision that looked good at the time, but during year three with him we realize that maybe he isnt so great. portis, hasnt helped our team once this season; cant break the long run without that stout denver line. he sucks, sellers is way better. i have more confidence if rock cartwright. but in true gibbs fashion, we will probably play portis until he gets injured, and by then it will be too late. honestly, gibbs has done nothing to show me that he is a competent coach. had this been anyone else, we would have run him out of town. STEP DOWN GIBBS, you are a hasbeen. snyder, stay ou\t of personell decisions, cerrato get bent, and saunders needs to take that 5,000 page playbook and shove it up his a$$ because none of them are earning their money and they have dont nothing to return us to glory. Williams is actually worth his salary, so he should be HC, and he has the right personality to lead men. Little pld panzy gibbs cannot command respect, and thats why you have clowns like moss and portis who are supposed to be the backbone of our team playing like dumb f*cks. dont buy merchandise from this team, it is not worth it. make them go bankrupt, change the racist name, and start all over again. the redskins are dead, it is time for a new era.

Posted by: A Redskins Fan | October 14, 2007 4:29 PM

CP and Moss did have the worst game as Skins totally agree. I think Moss clearly wasn't ready to be out there and the mistakes were mostly mental. I realize it sounds like I'm making excuses but I think his hammy injury was really bad and playing in the rain made him over think and fear too much.

I think CP knows he blew chunks out there. He was sitting on the bench alone at the end of the game.

That being said it is awfully easy for us to say coaches should have pulled them sooner. The game was close, really close and so do you pull your two major offensive weapons who've come through for you before? Don't know. Clearly GB got onto Cooley so why not more 4/5 WR sets? Well lots of dropped balls so that may not be the answer.

Finally the o-line is in complete tatters right now and a tattered o-line trying to deal with crap conditions and dealing with mental mistake after mental mistake. Sheesh.

So I will keep the faith as I said. It's going to give me an ulcer and a heart condition but as a fan that's fine with me.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:29 PM

"Keithinator" - (OP?) The problem is we *always* shoot ourselves in the foot. I ahve no problem losign a "good game", even blowing a 2nd half lead... but not scoring in 30 minutes after DOMINATING the first 30? That's embarassing.

-- because it hasn't been their tendency this year. Could they keep it up? Sure. But I haven't seen any evidence to make me believe they will. I think this is post-game emotions talking, not rational thought.

Posted by: Keithinator | October 14, 2007 4:30 PM

St. Joe just dodged the "did you bench Santana?" question.

Beautiful execution on St. Joe's part there.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:31 PM

Yeah Joe...that santana sure is a "playmaker"...He made allt he plays for the Packers

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:32 PM

3-2 is *not* 0-5. Do some folks on this board understand that? Today is was mistakes that did them in. Mistakes are correctable. Lack of talent, which has been the major problem in the past, doesn't appear to be the problem now.

Campbell played great, I thought. Much, much better than Favre. How can you not be excited about the kid?

Posted by: Keithinator | October 14, 2007 4:33 PM

The reverse wasn't the issue (and, I hate that play and have said on the blog before that if I never saw it again it would be too soon). They have got to secure the damn ball. It's as simple as that.

Santana didn't secure the ball on that play, and he dropped 4 other balls. It was a bad day for him, and he doesn't have many of them. But, he just killed us today. Fortunately, he's the kind of player who will work hard to come back from this performance.

I do think, though, that he needs to work some more w/ Soups. He could adjust to everything Brunell threw at him. He doesn't seem to be able to do that as easily with Campbell. I wish I knew why, but they really need to figure it out quickly.

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 4:33 PM

Remember folks...9-7 gets you in the playoffs. They have to get to 6-5 and then make a run. Don't panic.

The thing to be concerned about isn't St. Joe or Weird Al or Moss or Portis. The 'Skins are fielding an offensive line with ONE guy who started at the onset of training camp, and that one guy even missed all of camp!

Ah, hell...keep venting. Blog it out. Blog it out.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:34 PM

Gibbs is a clown. I want to hear how defends Moss and Portis...they stunk it up big big time. If Gregg Williams was HC, these players would get the MESSAGE. Plus we would proabably draft some decent o-line players instead of Buges pulling undrafted free agents off the scrap heap and sticking with Veterans like Jansen two or three years too long.

Posted by: DTC | October 14, 2007 4:34 PM

Not that I was expecting anything different, but the Space Cowboy's press conference was brutal today.

Does this guy have a clue? If he's purposely being positive or deceptive, he needs to stop because he sounds like a clown who has no clue what's going on.

Posted by: Ricky Bobby | October 14, 2007 4:34 PM

Pats - 7
Cowgirlz - 0

The other 81 must have brought his popcorn today.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 4:35 PM

i do think its too early for the "dump santana" calls, he clearly wasnt ready to play today......as for CP, his mental mistakes make me also think that he just isnt fully healthy either and he doesnt have confidence in his body and skills

Posted by: realchica | October 14, 2007 4:35 PM

The Washington Softskins.

I hear ya Keith but I'm sorry. Portis needs benched SO bad and the fact they are throwing to a guy with glass shins once a week and he's STILL on the team just further makes me feel like Gibbs is lost it after all of that time away.

The Skins offense wasted a superb day on the defensive side of the ball. Green Bay came out "swinging" the second half and the offense couldn't take a punch just like they did against the Giants.

The Redskins remind me of the bully in school who beat up on the smaller kids but backed away from bigger kids.

They are so soft it's not even funny. They had the game, got punched in the nose, and said,"Oh sorry Mr. Favre! We didn't know that was you!"

They had the game won and gave it away.

Keithanator,

What planet are you from dude? We have flat out thrown away 2 games. We should be 5-0. This isn't baseball. You play 16 games and can't afford to throw away any of them like we have.

Posted by: Ricky Bobby | October 14, 2007 4:37 PM

What about this take???

Would we feel different if we went to Lambeau and got our lunch handed to us?? What if we lost 31-10?? I would be more afraid for the rest of the season if that had happened.

Right now, we went on the road to one of the toughest places to play. Yes , we threw up all over ourselves. However, at least those mistakes are ones that can (hopefully) be corrected. If we had gotten blown out, we would KNOW that this team is not ready for primetime. This way, we know we can play in tough places ( GB and Philly )

OK....I have officialy changed my name to RoseColorGLasses !!!!

Posted by: Reppin TX | October 14, 2007 4:38 PM

You don't seriously expect St. Joe to call out a player in front of the media, do you? I mean, come on. What purpose will that serve other than to ameliorate a handful of fans? He'll call them out in private. Santana was healthy at the end of the game and standing on the sidelines. That should tell you everything you need to know about what St. Joe thought about Moss's performance.

Posted by: P Diddy | October 14, 2007 4:38 PM

I agree with the manic responses. Yes I'm pulling my hair out but 3-2 is NOT 0-5. We have a winning record. And I think most of us picked them at 10-6 or 9-7. We're on track for that.

Calling for the heads of every person after every loss is makes no sense. We're not NO or STL or Carolina or ATL or SF. We could end up like them but right now we're in the mix and have to play mistake free more often than most teams to achieve victory but so be it.

Plus I'm feeling better watching the Cowpukes getting manhandled by the Patriots who are clearly Pod People from Planet Robot.

Posted by: sfskin | October 14, 2007 4:39 PM

Ray - I'll be on the Wizards blog in due time after the season starts. Thanks for the invite.

Cowgirlz are looking horrid. For all who can watch, it will make you feel better to see it. TO must have eaten his popcorn before the game with extra butter. Already dropped a pass. Randy Moss already has a TD catch. If it keeps going like this then TO will definitely blow his top today.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 4:39 PM

Sorry - The comment to Ray at 4:39 was me.

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 4:41 PM

4:37 - that was very morbid, but hysterical.

The blame goes all around today. Moss, Sellers (3rd down drop), Portis, etc.

But I still can't get over the coaching. This is ANOTHER 2nd half loss, folks. Jasno, go ahead and update your article from last week. I mean, Gibbs specifically, seems out of it. Clock management. Play calling. Having Gregg Williams brief you on the sideline about what's going on. Failing to call a play that puts the ball passed the line of scrimmage on the 4th down play. I mean, you didn't even give your team a shot on that chicken shart call.

We should be 5-0 and it makes me sick that we're not. I really hope Gibbs just goes away after this season.

what happened to Cooley in the second half? do we think that gb's defense adjusted or were the plays just not called for him?

Posted by: realchica | October 14, 2007 4:44 PM

Someone want to check Moss and Rogers lockers for a Packers jersey? These two were pathetic today.

Maybe with a little more experience Gibbs will begin to master this clock management thing...If I hadn't watched this guys's resume for the past 25 years I would swear he had never coached during the last 5 minutes of a game in his life.

There are bright spots on this team but they are simply not ready yet.

News about next week's opponent

Arizona starting quarterback Kurt Warner sprained his left elbow in the first quarter against Carolina on Sunday, and his return was questionable.
Warner made his first start in place of Matt Leinart, who is out for the season with a broken collarbone.
Warner got hurt on a sack by Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers midway through the first quarter. Warner fumbled on the play, and Peppers recovered.
Tim Rattay, signed last week as Arizona's only backup, replaced Warner.

Ray,

Thanks for the props, dude. I troll this board a lot, but almost never post (I'm likin' our Wiz, too!), even though I'm a fanatical 'Skins fan. I don't have the time for both, so I stay with the Wiz, since there are so many on this board.

I don't know why, but I'm not really down after the game. The D looked great, the offensive I believe will come around. And again, Campbell is the key. He looks fantastic, especially for a guy who hasn't even started a season's worth of games yet.

Well, since we're not gonna get another bye, for today, I'd settle for Tom Brady diggin' in that cowpoke behind.

Dear God,

I promise I will no longer hate Tom Brady with the intensity that dealer hates BBM if he crushes the pokes today. Ok?

Ever faithful,

So, here we are..............

3-2....Dallas is getting spanked, so they could be 5-1. NYG go to Hot-lanta tomorrow, even if they win, they go to 4-2.

Hmmmm...it looks like we are rightin the mix of everything. Let's calm down. Think about the positive.... Campbell still played well, with all of the drops. Defense played well again, Sean-Tay was all over the place...we stared down the " ferocious Green Bay Packers" and took them to the 4th qtr.

No doubt, there are some things to fix, but, it is not terrible. It has been terrible here before....think Spurior, think early Marty, think other Gibbs 2.0 seasons.

F Moss...simply a horrendous game

Posted by: Chris Larry | October 14, 2007 4:59 PM

bigfish,

I don't. They are losing to the best team in football. A team we'll lose 63-0 to.

Good teams don't give away games the way we do. I can't even count the amount of games we've given away since Gibbs came back on 2 hands... it's way more than that and that is SICKENING

Okay, so this is what if feels like when a team works out its growing pains.

They grow. Slowly.

We suffer pain.

I have to admit I had this game pegged as an L on my season prediction chart.

I am now officially very concerned about the former offensive line, which is now to be found on the IR. Wade, then Heyer today. Who's left, for crying out loud?

Posted by: sieskani | October 14, 2007 5:00 PM

why were we not pounding....

please no more reverses...they never ever...ever ever ever work

Posted by: Chris Larry | October 14, 2007 5:03 PM

Pats' pasting of Cowboys does set the table perfectly for a big upset in New England....
But I don't think it'll happen.
The lack of second-half intensity is indeed troubling. They're great when Gibbs is fired up (usually after a bye).

Posted by: Cindy | October 14, 2007 5:03 PM

It was fun while it lasted. We will be 8-8 at best with all of the injuries and our horrendous coaching staff.

Bye bye season tickets. Hello 1k more dollars and "visiting team" returns.

I support Gibbs all the way. If half of the passes that were dropped had been caught we would have been in a completely different situation late in the 4th quarter. And, I won't even go into the fumbles. However, I stand by my team. Win, lose, whatever. I am going to catch serious sh*t at the office tomorrow because I am an obnoxious (sp?) fan that loves my Skins!!!

If we win - Hail!!!
If we lose - Hail!!!

I am kind of looking forward to the Patriots game. It will be a good contrast of watching a well coached team like the Patriots vs. the poorly managed team like the Redskins.

We will see how much better belichek prepares his team than Gibbs

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 5:04 PM

Chris Larry,

No kidding. That 4th down pass wasn't even beyond the line of scrimmage. That is flat out unacceptable.

What also is unacceptable is the Space Cowboy wandering the sideline wondering what is going on. He has to hold briefings like the President where people try to tell him that yes, he's in Green Bay, and yes, he's coaching a professional football team.

And stop saying how proud you are. It doesn't work, Joe. Welcome to 2007 and Earth!!!!!!!!

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 5:17 PM

Chris Larry,

The execution was worse than the play calling. We didn't protect the ball so we didn't win. It's really that simple.

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 5:18 PM

New policy in the nation's capital: fire the head coach after every loss. That should work.

I don't disagree with the fact the Joe Gibbs didn't win the game for us. But to put all the blame on him is just stupid. I'm sure it's his fault that Wade, Heyer, and Rabach got injured. It is prolly his fault that Moss and Portis fumbled, all the dropped passes including B. Lloyd's at the goal line and that the secondary didn't hold on to a few INTs. Your right fire the guy. Start over then we can expect 4-12 and be happy with it.

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 5:20 PM

Boy your offense stinks! You sure turn yellow in the second half! Get yourselves a lead, then proceed to blow it just like you did with the Giants! Ha! Ha! Ha!

How many times have you guys done that? Well, sorry you're not ready to play up here with the big boys. Maybe next year! Not!

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 5:24 PM

Completely agree, the players lost this game, not the coaches. Play calling wasn't that bad, dropped passes, fumbles, dropped INT's especially the one from Taylor that would have been a touchdown. None of it matters, season rides on the health og the O line, and you all know how that is going.

Posted by: monkalicious | October 14, 2007 5:24 PM

JustMe

i agree execution was abysmal

butt the offensive play calling was a joke

- Portis was running well, we went away from it....

- Not running on a 3rd and 1...thats a statement down

- not coming out of half with a power football plan is a joke

- on 4th down you gotta have plays called that get two yards

- the WR reverse is the worst play of all the 700 plays. It never works, and its a wasted play...that was second in short hand the ball off and establish yoself! No need for gimmick

- With our oline in shambles we continues to have a pass first menatality allowing d to tee off....

- where was cooley in 2nd haldf?!?!?1 they couyldnt stop him...yet we went away from him

wow moss was bad today......

the wr's let down JC so bad....

Posted by: Chris Larry | October 14, 2007 5:29 PM

The only problem with the play calling was running a 1 yd route on 4th and 2.

I hope Coach Joe isn't giving the "fought their guts out speech"! I hope he calls them out behind closed doors. This was absurd.

Posted by: DS | October 14, 2007 5:29 PM

i guess i stand corrected....the wr reverse was a good call...can anyone name one time that play has done anything more positive than 4 yard gain?

Posted by: Chris Larry | October 14, 2007 5:32 PM

I *always* think the reverse is a bad call. I can never defend that one. LOL

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 5:36 PM

offensive play calling bad, is Al calling the plays Joe wants, not what Al would call?

Drop the reverse, bring back the bubble screen. If is 3rd/4th and short call a play that gets 3 yds not 1.

I think the running game got worse because of all the injuries

Posted by: noone from tampa | October 14, 2007 5:38 PM

Tom Brady up the middle for 3 on 4th and one. Love the call. Next play touchdown. That's how to play on the road.

Speaking of our 4th and 2, wasn't that a horrible spot? Looked like Cooley got within a yard on 3rd down.

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 5:38 PM

Posted by: bigfish | October 14, 2007 5:58 PM

Does anyone else think Santana gets the Shawn Springs treatment once the season is over (unless he turns it on and starts performing at '05 season levels)? The injuries and the poor performance so far this season are leading me to believe he'll be offered a pay cut or else kinda deal.

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 6:03 PM

bang,

the officiating was dreadful. honestly, I think they are the worst crew in the NFL.

the spot you are referring to was awful. it looked like the side judge marked the spot as if Cooley stepped out of bounds, but he wasn't even close. it was more like 2 inches, not 2 yards. awful.

Posted by: Ricky Bobby | October 14, 2007 6:05 PM

Thank the lawd for LT on my fantasy team. Still winning even with Warner hurt and no QB.

BTW - LT just moved by Riggo in all time rushing TD's.

Posted by: bangkokben | October 14, 2007 6:08 PM

he = Santana

Hard to answer if I don't say who I'm talking about. LOL

Posted by: JustMe | October 14, 2007 6:08 PM

It's only our 5th game. Let's see where Santana is ata the end of the year. It's still too early to tell. I tend to think that he can't do any worse than he did today. As a matter of fact our whole offense can't do any worse than it did today so I'm still positive about this season. We WILL make the play-offs this year and that is all that I ask. If our O-line is healthy by then there is no telling how far we can go.

Troy Aikman rivals randy Cross as one of the worst commentators of all time. He is f'n brutal.

Explain how we can have offensive and defensive pass interference by the same two players. One interfered first, which I believe was the defensive guy. Thrash was trying to shake loose from the guy who was HOLDING him.

Posted by: cosmofla | October 14, 2007 6:10 PM

our offensive game plan is horrendous. so predictable, so 1940's.

without the safety, the pick six, and the Thrash punt return, we would have scored under 20 again last week. this week, 14. the week before Detroit, 17.

what is with this offense? I know we've had injuries, but Gibbs coaches like we're back in the civil war era, which coincidentally was the last time Gibbs knew his name or whereabouts.

Posted by: ricky bobby | October 14, 2007 6:11 PM

BigFish
Moss is my favorite receiver, but the problem is he's been struggling since the start of the season. He missed games last year and was not a factor in so many others, makes you wonder if he's gotten a little too confident after the 2005 season.

Posted by: redskins8085 | October 14, 2007 6:14 PM

Prediction for rest of the year

Arizona W 4-2
NE L 4-3
Jets W 5-3
Philly L 5-4
Dallas L 5-5
Tampa Bay L 5-6
Buffalo W 6-6
Chicago W 7-6
Giants L 7-7
Minnesota W 8-7
Dallas L 8-8

Best case scenario is 8-8 to me.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 6:15 PM

JustMe,

Moss asking out boggles my mind. I can't believe Gibbs stands for this crap. RB's make their own substitutions, your best WR bows out down 3 instead of wanting to stay out there and make up for his mistakes. I blame this on leadership and the obvious communication issues on the sideline.

bang,

where do you live again? germany? I feel bad you stayed up for that crap.

cosmo,

Aikman was really pissing me off today. he said he couldn't find holding on the TD that was called back because of holding. Are you serious? Daniels clearly got held, you dope!!!!!!

Posted by: Chris Larry | October 14, 2007 6:16 PM

Anon,

I agree 100% on your predictions. This is why I hate when people try to take positives away from these games we flat out give away. HELLO! You only play 16 of them. The Giants and Pack games are the difference between 10-6 and 8-8 and out of the playoffs.

Posted by: Ricky Bobby | October 14, 2007 6:18 PM

Skins will beat Tampa Bay and Minnesota. I give them 9-7 or 10-6 if they can avoid horrendous play like today.

Posted by: redskins8085 | October 14, 2007 6:19 PM

Gibbs wasted first 3 years of his return with Brunell.

By the time he actually has a QB, the offensive line got a little bit long in the tooth and injuries are starting to pile up.

Gibbs problem is his loyalty to players who had good seasons in the past...that's why Brunell got so many chances. Thats why Jansen got a huge contract extension when most thought he was on the decline. Thats why he refused to bench Moss even though he was dropping every single pass thrown in his direction.

Posted by: Anonymous | October 14, 2007 6:19 PM

hmmm...seems to me i wouldn't mind jansen starting right about now.............................................

Gibbs has blown more 2nd half leads than any coach in the NFL since his return. That is flat out atrocious, especially for a guy nicknamed "Mr. 2nd half adjustment". The NFL should meet with Gibbs and remind him that he's not Neil Armstrong, officially strip him of this BS nickname, and remove his bust in Canton.
