Maybe he can learn cornerback and play 2 ways like Troy Brown did for the Pats when they were decimated by injuries.

I never thought I would ever celebrate a 10mil dollar WR being injured and replaced by Jimmy Farris like I am now.

He's probably a real nice guy but the Skins need a FOOTBALL PLAYER! Idiots!
This is why the SKINS SUCK!

Yeah, because there's so much talent "walking the street" in week 11 of the NFL season, right? Mike Williams?! There's a reason he got cut in Detroit and Oakland. Couldn't stick in freakin' Oakland! But you want him, right. Charles Rogers?! He's so good that he can't sniff the NFL's jock from up in the Canadian league.

I want him? Whatever. Rogers ran a 4.8 sec forty this summer, a little better than Farris.
Williams? He's a tool.
Who we really need is ______________

Man I've missed a lot up here since yesterday. Jimmy Frickin Farris? Oh well, guess you can't expect too much this time of year. Any updates on Moss, Santana?

Man, New Orelans is going to be awesome next year with Lloyd, Patten and Colston!
Posted by: demayc | November 15, 2007 1:11 PM
I'm actually surprised about how quiet TO has been this year. He's getting the ball and the girls are winning... The only time he even remotely made extra-curricular news was before the Pats game and they got embarrassed in the second half of that game. If a media schlub could get him talking and have him pop -off, we may stand a chance.
After all, we have Jimmy Farris.
Circle takes the square.

Brilliant. If you bring in a Plinko reference, you win Blogger of the Day.
Just saw last week's "30 Rock" (catching up on TV after my trip). Al Gore's cameo was genius..."Quiet! A whale is in trouble! I have to go!"
"This Earth is ruined. Let's get another one."

At this point anything is better than what we have been bringing to the games, you really can't get much worse performance-wise at WR. El and McCardell have been the only solid performers in a group that on paper were supposed to rock the NFL. I really don't put too much into the fact that Charles Rogers/Mike Williams didn't pan out in Oakland or Detroit. The time they spent in Detroit, the team as a whole just wasn't good. R.Moss wasn't playing well at Oakland either, but as soon as he left he was great (remember most everyone had written him off as a has been and that it was a bad trade), and I know Woodson was on D but as soon as he left his game stepped up too. I just don't base players abilities on the times they spent with less than stellar teams, although I'm starting to believe ours is one of those teams.

First timer/longtime reader..
I've seen the fury spewed at Lloyd and it's legit with the bust he has been since his signing. I do have to say that we all owe him a nod, though. Dan Snyder, love 'em or hate 'em, has proven to be a shrewd and highly successful businessman. With that being said, I bet he's sitting at home knowing that Lloyd took him better than any other business deal he brokered where he had fallen on the 'short end of the wishbone'...
well, that is until Gibbs finally walks away. I love the man and was one of the utterly and crazed fanatics who KNEW that he was the answer. When Gibbs leaves, his payroll and his staff will, ultimately, trunmp Lloyd's triumph of fleecing Snyder's pockets.
Lloyd- what a waste of money and, supposed, talent.
Gibbs- what a waste of legacy and pride for him and energy, fanaticism, and money by both Snyder and me.
I will echo the sentiments of "F Dallas!"
Hate 'em, hate 'em, HATE 'EM!!! HTTR

Posted by: seanc | November 15, 2007 02:00 PM
I used to think that, but I changed my mind. He is making money off the Redskins, but I don't think you can call him "highly successful."
His other big investment, Six Flags, has gone from thriving to struggling to disaster. He's lost big bucks on his investment there. So what else has he got? Johnny Rockets and Tom Cruise.
Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 15, 2007 2:18 PM
Snyder has recently bought Dick Clark Productions and is in the market for an EPL team. Lets not forget the ever popular Triple X Radio.
Posted by: bigfish | November 15, 2007 2:27 PM
Six Flags Inc. SIX (NYSE)
Delayed Quote $2.02
It has a three year high of $12.
The chickens are coming home to roost. Hopefully he'll get stuck in a position where he has to sell the team.

The Chris Paul song for the game this week says: Carter gonna drop Romo faster than Carrie Underwood did!! That's hilarious!!!
Here is the link to all the songs so far this season and some of last season: http://redskins.torresa.com/audio/

HAHAHA, Excelsior!!! Why doesn't anyone listen to me, Man-Bear-Pig really does exist!!!!! I do have to give Dan the benefit of the doubt, he will do whatever it takes to win. Granted, he has made some of the stupidest decisions (he's not alone), but how much suave does this man have that he got JG to come outta retirement and NASCAR when his team was doing great? I will never say that Gibbs wasted his time here, for as much as I dislike the play calling, I would take him over Bellicheck any day of the week. Yeah I know, winning is great, but not at the expense of your soul!
Posted by: tweedr01 | November 15, 2007 2:33 PM
Well, he did BUY the franchise for, at that time, an all-time high of ~600 million dollars from a fortune he amassed by the age of 40...so I just sort of figured he must have made a couple of good financial decisions in his past....you know, like a certain other person who, in his past, amassed a 'fortune' of 3 SB's and garnered praise and adulation for his cunning nature in his industry.
I know there's a lot of venom out there towards the man, and I'm not necessarliy defending him, but I'm still of the opinion it's better to have an owner that has money and WILL spend it. He and the franchise just need to do a better job of allocating funds.
He got rooked on a lot of big signings but Lloyd will probably go down as the biggest and Gibbs and his staff will trump that if this season pans out as most see it going (up and down winning, maybe, a 'surprise' game but continually to lose to teams we should beat, not making the playoffs, and Gibbs stepping away).

"Well, he did BUY the franchise for, at that time, an all-time high of ~600 million dollars from a fortune he amassed by the age of 40."
He took ownership of the franchise with ALL borrowed money. The Redskins are mortgaged to the hilt ($800 million +or-).
He put none of his money down, he got cash from other part owners.
Posted by: X_1967 | November 15, 2007 2:37 PM
"In May 1999, he purchased the team and their then two-year old stadium for $800 million following the death of the previous owner Jack Kent Cooke. At the time, it was the most expensive transaction in sporting history. The deal was financed largely through borrowed money, including a $340 million borrowed from Société Générale and $155 million debt assumed on the stadium. Annual loan servicing costs are an estimated $50 million."
Posted by: bigfish | November 15, 2007 2:41 PM
I don't care if the money was borrowed or not. How many people do you know that can take out a loan for $340 millon?
Posted by: bigfish | November 15, 2007 2:43 PM
Isn't Jimmy Farris on Saturday Night Live?
F DALLAS!!!!

Can we put this up there with the "trade, Portis, Samuels and Cooley" emails from yesterday?
You've made a habit of being wrong.
Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 15, 2007 2:46 PM
Grande Pescado - up until recently it seemed like if you wanted to buy a house for $340 mill they'd loan you the money even if you were the fry guy at MickeyDees making $5.15 an hour.
Oh and once again just for emphasis.
F DALLAS!!!

I presume we've all concluded that this is the end of the Lloyd, Brandon experiment?
Not the way I wanted him to go out I'll say. Don't wish injuries on many.

Creating a syndicate that on paper appears to be able handle such debt does not make an individual all that impressive.
Have a look at all the bank stocks-
MER
C
CFC
WB
BAC
These masters of the universe are single handedly destroying the world debt market.
These are the same geniuses that lent Danny Boy the money. And by the way, SocGen had a huge debt writedown recently as well to the tune of $587 million a few days ago. That will just be for starters.

Well if you think Snyder is unsuccessful then I'd like to be unsuccessful too.

How am I wrong? Those guys are the losers that have led the skins to a 26 and 31 since Gibbs came back. Remember, these "guys are all in it together."

Hey don't forget me bigfish, I'll be your Vinny! You can pay me to...uh....you know...evaluate talent, you don't need the actual "talent evaluator", just me, Vinny!

I didn't say he was unsuccessful as a business man. I think he needs to be seen through a clear lens.

"Creating a syndicate that on paper appears to be able handle such debt does not make an individual all that impressive"
Here is where you put your money where you mouth is. Shut up, and do EXACTLY what you've stated above, and then report back to us.
You think its not that impressive, however, you yourself couldn't replicate it. Makes you even more full of ----.
Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 15, 2007 2:58 PM
I think we should trade Farris with the other guys too. LOL....He is an overachiever that fights his guts out and has great character and can be a core guy and fight his guts out and another team would surely value this.
Posted by: X_1967 | November 15, 2007 3:00 PM
tweed, you're talking to the wrong guy. X_1967 is the one who's going to buy the team.
And F Vinny!
Posted by: bigfish | November 15, 2007 3:00 PM
X, wanting to trade those three players is just stupid. Not only is it stupid, but it would be self depreciating to the Team, as you would only be able to field a team of 30 players, in order to get under teh cap, when their COLLECTIVE signing bonsus's hit AT ONE TIME.
Stop.

You have no idea what I can do.
Posted by: X_1967 | November 15, 2007 3:01 PM
I used to be a trade Portis guy. After watching Betts put the ball on the ground last week, I have to say I'm way off his bandwagon.
CP seems to be back to form and the ONLY side of the line we can run on right now is the left.
And it is in no way Cooley's fault that he gets all the tough coverage. It's what happens when your all 3 of of your starting receivers go down.
Sorry, 1967, they may not be the best, but they're all we've got.
Posted by: LarryBud | November 15, 2007 3:01 PM
Hey X, while you are right about the record, those are the same guys that have produced pro bowl numbers every year, save Portis last year. They are pretty much the only ones on the O that consistently bring it. I just think it's pretty obvious the fault of these losses falls directly on JG and injuries, but I really do believe that if JG was prepared enough the injuries wouldn't matter.
Posted by: tweedr01 | November 15, 2007 3:02 PM
OK, yesterday I was thinking about calling in the L, resting the team (esp. the hurt guys), avoiding another week of new injuries, taking the weekend off, watching some tube, but now I'm willing to alter my game plan a little bit.
I remember this one game in Dallas (where Skins ALWAYS do great, esp. in the late afternoon games) where I fell asleep b/c the Skins were losing really badly ... and woke up to find out Santana Moss caught two long bombs from Brunell to win the game in the closing three minutes.
Maybe Jimmy Farris can be that guy. Maybe Dallas will be looking beyond the injured Skins and onto their next game (against the injured NY Jets). Now I'm thinking giving it the old "any given Sunday" shot ... at least for the first half. If the Skins are down by 28 plus going into the half, however, then the second half should be like preseason. Reverse depth chart. Everyone who never plays gets game film. Helloooooo Todd Collins deep to Reche Caldwell. Picks all around ... Eubanks and Macklin and Doughty. Frost kicking off and Suisham punting. Every other possible "contingency" plan gets played out. Everyone mildly important to the rest of the season on the bench.
After the two minute warning in the second half, bounty on taking Romo out for the season. The Owner indemnifies all defenders for possible unsportsmanlike fines issued by the league.
OR ... we can talk about the team mascot some more ...
Posted by: dcsween | November 15, 2007 3:02 PM
"it would be self depreciating to the Team"
Tell me you were just typing fast and you are not this stupid. The three longest years of your life must have been third grade.
Posted by: X_1967 | November 15, 2007 3:02 PM
'X'...
It's ridulous to say he didn't put up any money. It's ridiculous for you to hate the man because he brokered that kind of deal. Just like he brokered bringing in JG to begin with. Just like he increased the value of the organization to where it's ranked as one of the most successful and profitable sport organizations in ALL of sports.
You're of the opinion that it's best to.. what, jettison half of our starters, the coach, the owner, and what, START ALL OVER?!?!
My whole point was that Lloyd was a terrible deal Snyder made and that Gibbs&Staff could even surpass that.
With that being said, He's not perfect and has made some mistakes but give me an owner who will, hopefully, continue to learn from them and continue to spend the money. We could have a Bidwell here...you know, the owner of the hyper-successful Cardinals.

BLloyd will go down as the WORST deal GIBBS made during his tenure (and that's saying something)....
Not only did he trade a 3rd and a 4th round draft pick but he renegotiated a contract with BLloyd for $10 mil guaranteed. At least Archdelux was a free agent and we didn't toss around draft picks for nothing.
And he' caught, what, 25 balls in 2 years. That's $400,000 per catch. That's more than Roger Clemons money!
And this deal rests on GIBBS head and not Danny boy...

SAN FRANCISCO -- Barry Bonds was indicted Thursday for perjury and obstruction of justice, charged with lying when he told a federal grand jury that he did not knowingly use performance-enhancing drugs.
The indictment unsealed Thursday against baseball's home-run king culminated a four-year investigation into steroid use by elite athletes.

This is a link that is reported to be BLloyd's house that is for sale.
http://www.homesdatabase.com/cherylkenny/LO6590979MRV
It has been reported on the Junkies Radio show that this really is his house, that they had inside info about what really happened when he got benched (bad argument with one of the O coaches), that he put the house on the market last week, before his injury.
For what it's worth....

Hello Everyone,
I want to thank Jasno for all the great info. Also, I would like to remind everyone who thinks JGII is a bust to remember back to the days of Spurrier. At least with Gibbs each week the team has a chance to win and now they have a legit NFL QB. In my opinion, the team could have 10 Coach Gibbs and not be able to dig out from the incompetence and disgrace that has been provided by The Dan and The Vin.
