Portis and Moss on Rolle's Comments

Dan Steinbog reports:
Portis and Moss talked extensively to reporters about Taylor today, as did many other Redskins, but the University of Miami guys, who sat next to Taylor in the locker room and had spoken with him on Saturday, addressed Antrel Rolle's comments about how Taylor had been targeted.

Moss: "Antrel Rolle and Sean grew up pretty close together. If he knows something that we don't know, then all you can do is respect what he said. I don't know how true it is, but he might know something that we don't know."
Portis: "Antrel grew up with Sean. He know the neighborhood, he know the people. So Antrel would hear more conversations than you would hear, he would hear more conversations than I would hear. They still stay in the same area, they still from the same part of town. Antrel go back to six years old, he knew more about Sean than any of us. Maybe he knew something we didn't know. It don't matter if people was targeting him or not, at the same time we need to find who did this."

OK guys. I wasn't sure if we shoudl do this or not, but I think it's time to start healing. Please don't attack too hard if you're not ready for this. If you are ready, then join in.

Sean Taylor is in a better place now because any place Sean Taylor in is better.

Rolle may be right about Taylor being targeted.

But it sure doesn't sound like a hit. Generally, people out to kill will empty the clip. The person in question only shot twice; one missed, one hit Taylor in the leg.

Well, whatever the reason for this terrible crime, I just hope they catch the maggot who did it as soon as possible.

Jasno has been doing a great job, and i really think its great that everyone in consensus has let him know. i'm sure it helps while he has to go through this too, and thanks to bucktown too. i'm getting my shirt, baseball shirt, and wearing it to the game. i'm also bringing a sign, anyone have any ideas? i was thinking of "Do it for Sean, He Saved 2 Lives" or something like that

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2007/11/colin_cowherd_on_sean_taylor.html#more

I heard this yesterday on the radio.

Now Stephan a. Smith, Wilbon, and Jason Whitlock are the voice for Blacks? Utterly ridiculous.....

JM220 - I agree with you. Miami-Dade police need to pay a visit to Antrel and ask, 'What people are you talking about?'

Rolle should have chosen a more anonmyous manner of saying what he said, just hope that he hasn't put a target on his own back.

Great quote in from the above link, RW, thanks for sharing:

Not all of Shapiro's assailants hid behind screen names. Last night, John Mitchell, a sportswriter for the Washington Times, ripped Shapiro a new one WOL-AM's nightly sportstalk show, The Sports Groove.

Mitchell decried Shapiro's column as "bigoted, racist garbage," and then really cut loose. With some prodding from host Mark Gray, Mitchell called Shapiro a "racist, conniving skunk," took a breath, and called him "a racist conniving dog of a skunk."

"Everything he writes," Mitchell continued, "is inaccurate. No research, it's just lazy. When's the last time Leonard Shapiro broke anything? He's just an old white guy hanging on."

Let the healing begin.

Thanks for the post gregmarino88. It to hear someone stood up.

RightWay oh you best believe if it was my boy that I have known since age 6. If I didn't make a move on who I thought it was the police would get a letter with names from a John Doe.

JM, definetly, stand up for your boy, but Rolle needed to be smarter about it, he shouldn't have spoken to the press at all. It sounds like Rolle still goes back to Miami, or lives in that area. I would hate to see another young life ended at the hands of these animals.

That is true. I don't want another fan to feel the pain I felt all week.

Smith/Whitlock/Wilbon are wannabe social crusaders, via sports columns... Move over, Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman... Wilbon and Whitlock are in da house.

If the situation weren't so tragic, their presumptive writings would be funny.

There is a new post. Actually, there are two new posts, but they are identical.

Maybe Cindy can delete the most recent one.

Some people put *way* too much stock in what these writers are saying. Who cares? It's one person's point of view. The energy can be put to much better use elsewhere.
