Redskins Insider, by Jason La Canfora Redskins Insider

Skins Inactives - No 89 or 53

Marcus Washington (hamsring) is out again. He's missed a lot of games the past two seasons now.

Santana Moss (heel, hamstring) is out again too. This is looking like a lost season for him at a time they really need a WR step up.

Thomas, Boschetti, Macklin, Pucillo and Sampson are scractched.

So Receiver, The is up and will play with Santana out.

Other than that, all quiet. Had a good time throwing them back with DCSween last night. Plan on splurging on the new cds by The Hives and babyshambles this week. Anyone heard either? I could not get into the last Hives album but loved their early stuff; no doubt I like the babyshambles becasue I love their stuff pretty much no matter what.

SKINS BY 40!

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 11:57 AM

Eleventy-tooth.

...skins by 40.

Posted by: shuttledik | November 11, 2007 12:00 PM

Damn - Two minutes earlier and I would have started Lloyd on mt fantasy team. I still predict he will score the first TD by a Skins receiver this year.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:03 PM

bigfish,

I kinda got that feeling too. What irony!

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 12:05 PM

Receiver will be thrown a deep ball on the first series, 7-0 Skins with less than 5 minutes off the clock!

HTTR

Posted by: tdg0810 | November 11, 2007 12:05 PM

I guess Moss got hurt when Choo Choo was giving dancing lessons. I hope he taught Lloyd how to dance this week too.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:07 PM

The fact that he's starting after being boofed last week - does NOT bode well.

Let's hear it for the running game!

Skins by 40! HAIL!

Posted by: shuttledik | November 11, 2007 12:10 PM

None of ESPN's so called experts are picking the Eagles. Divisional game; go figure.

Skins by 40!

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 12:12 PM

time to cut Moss and Washington, they aren't acting like "core guys" and playing hurt.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 12:15 PM

Let the Eagles pass rush come on. Cuz we sure as SJK arent gonna throw the ball. Besides, we're 5-3 with no TD's to WR's so who needs em anyways.

And fish....what the hell is BLloyd doing on ur Fantasy Team brother? Last one left?

HAIL!!!

Posted by: shadam1242 | November 11, 2007 12:15 PM

BTW shadam1242 (like the name Adam..not Saddam Hussien)=skinnyntenny

Posted by: shadam1242 | November 11, 2007 12:18 PM

...a big dose of CP and enuf BL-T to win..

Posted by: bobeaston | November 11, 2007 12:23 PM

He's not on my real fantasy team but I would have started him in the Home Team Challenge league that I play.

Unfortunately I have Kevin Curtis and McNabb on my real fantasy team.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:26 PM

Can we see McCardell and Caldwell some anyone but b.lloyd

Posted by: noone.from.tampa | November 11, 2007 12:34 PM

Let's see McCardell in the game on as many packages as possible.

Posted by: kreitman4 | November 11, 2007 12:37 PM

So can we consider Macklin a bust? He was brought in here for depth and the only depth he adds is to the inactive list.

Posted by: david | November 11, 2007 12:40 PM

Damn this been a really bad year for Moss.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 12:44 PM

Skins by 40!

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 12:46 PM

Well let's see the Eagles are 7th against the run and we have no Wr's...hmmm.

Posted by: ezdoesit74 | November 11, 2007 12:46 PM

ARE, Lloyd, McCardell and Cooley will get it done. ARE had one of his best games this year when Moss sat out.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:49 PM

Skins win 6-3

Posted by: tdskinz | November 11, 2007 12:49 PM

My predictions for the Eagles game;

-Jason Cambell will connect on at least one pass of over 30 yards.

-At least one WR will catch a TD pass.

-Cooley will catch a TD pass.

-Portis will break 100 yards again.

-Sean Taylor will have an INT (he's due).

-Receiver, The will have at least one catch.

-Skins will be kneeling down and running out the clock with a big lead at the end of the game.

Posted by: bigfish | November 8, 2007 11:54 AM

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:52 PM

The Eagles blow chunks. We should beat them by 30.

First play- Line up in run formation, play action long down the middle to Lloyd.

This will solve the WR TD situation and let our defense play downhill (go after McNabb on the first play)from the start.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 12:52 PM

Roll call for the game? Eats? Drinks?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:55 PM

They are showing the Packers game her. WTF!!!

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 12:56 PM

We get the Goose again?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:58 PM

Siragusa just said what I did. "Don't play close or we'll lose."

Go long!

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 12:58 PM

Where's Key Lime?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 12:59 PM

D gets the test early. Let's Go!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:03 PM

what a tackle!

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 1:03 PM

Nice job covering the trick play on the return.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:03 PM

Okay I was supposed to be in DC this weekend. I was going to hang out with friends and go see the Boss with FLOOR TIX!
And yesterday I woke up and felt like death had run me over with a Mack Truck full of anvils. Getting on a plane was not an option.

So here I am lying on my sofa wrapped up in blankies galore, feeling considerably better but bitter bitter bitter. So our guys better kick some ARSE!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:06 PM

Greetings Redskins nation hope we have a good day

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 1:07 PM

Another penalty on the D on 3rd and long that ends up in a 1st down. This should have been addressed by now.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:08 PM

F 3rd down defensive penalties!

Skins by 40!

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:09 PM

What idiot committed the penalty?

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:09 PM

Okay. D is beating themselves right now.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:09 PM

F all defensive penalties! Skins by 40!

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:10 PM

The last time I was up on this blog - the Skins luck was horrible. So if bad things start happening let me know and I'll get off.

Let me know what's happening as I am here in Europe unable to watch.

charlie

Posted by: cmecyclist | November 11, 2007 1:10 PM

All they keep talking about is how far off the line the Redskins D is playing. BRING THE HEAT!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:11 PM

Nice to see nothing has changed with Westbrook. He still kills us.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:12 PM

They best start paying attention to Westbrook

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 1:13 PM

Can we start the Fire Coach Gibbs chants yet?

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:14 PM

TD Eagles. Ugh!

Time to go Charlie. Sorry!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:15 PM

Hi defense. You guys have been awesome mostly all year. But did you forget that you were playing football today?

Football. It's what you get that big paycheck for every week.

ARGH!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:15 PM

Poopy--

Coach Gibbs? How many penalties did he commit on that drive?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:15 PM

Once again the D gives up 20 yards, keeps drives alive and can't stop Westbrook.

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:15 PM

Uh, yeah.

I'm outta here!

Posted by: cmecyclist | November 11, 2007 1:16 PM

Grilliams can't keep playing these guys 10 yards off the line. Westbrook will eat us alive if he keeps this up. If anything we can start the F Grilliams chants now.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:16 PM

Seriously if we take Westbrook out of the game Philly has nothing, now cant we do this?

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 1:16 PM

6 points for the Black and Whites!

Posted by: filmchis | November 11, 2007 1:16 PM

Isn't it the head coaches job to eliminate the mental mistakes during practice?

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:16 PM

The Packers-Vikes game is the national broadcast? Wha?

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:16 PM

bangkokben--Yeah, but look at the positives. We didn't let them burn us deep, and Taylor and Landry should be rested in the fourth quarter when we need them!

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:17 PM

Why does double G have the Reaper playing 20 yards back? WTF!!!! Not like the Eagles have any good wide outs.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 1:18 PM

What's up, dawgs? Just finished lemon meringue Yoplait as the Iggles were driving....Stupid penalties there on the Skins.

Posted by: TheCindy | November 11, 2007 1:18 PM

SFskin yeah the 7-1 packers vs. a team where last week the rookie rb set the league record for rushing yards in a game and who is also over 1000 yds for the season.

Sounds like more of a ratings getter than the average skins vs the sub-par eagles in my book.

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:19 PM

Isn't it the head coaches job to eliminate the mental mistakes during practice?

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 01:16 PM

Uh, I always thought this was the players' jobs.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:19 PM

jm, on one 3rd and 2 the Safeties were litterally playing at least 30 yards off the ball. I almost wanted to puke.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:20 PM

Once again I'm at a loss to understand why our guys are playing 10 yards deep on d.

Anyone care to explain? Is this the bend don't break mentality?

Okay come on offense!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:20 PM

Should they be rested when they let the Eagles have the ball for more than six minutes? This D has serious issues when they're asked to play more than 28 minutes.

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:20 PM

CHOO CHOO!!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:21 PM

If the players keep making mistakes isn't it the head coaches job to step in and fix it and make sure it doesn't continue?

if a kid keeps getting d's and f's in school would a good parent step in and help fix the problem or just sit back and say "it's the kids problem, not mine"?

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:21 PM

Williams' theory seems to be "my nine can beat your eleven." Wrong, so far.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:21 PM

Hey lookie a pass!

Poopy - not saying we should be the national game. And now that I look at the other NFC 1pm games I guess it makes sense.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:22 PM

Poopy, They're professionals, not bad children.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:23 PM

UGH!!! Anyone think we can come back from 14 down again?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:24 PM

sfskin yeah believe me i wish it was too, i'm sitting here in so-cal watching the pack/vikes waiting for all the bars to open up at 10:45-11 so i can go and actually watch the game

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:24 PM

Gibbs 2.0 style "we won last week so we must lose this week" play in full effect for Redskins

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 1:25 PM

Great start! A whopping six plays by the offense. Nice work by Jason and company.

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 1:25 PM

Hmmm I'm starting to get more and more on board with folks who've been saying that Soups is way too afraid to make mistakes.

It doesn't seem like he's playing with the confidence and swagger from early in the season.
Nice run by him there.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:25 PM

same basic principles apply to both situations talent.

i guess since they're professionals, the coaches don't need to even attend practice/games eh?

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:26 PM

Bring some effing heat!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:28 PM

FUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:31 PM

Go for the score.

SSSSSOOOOOOOOUUUUUPPPPPSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:36 PM

Todd Yoder made a false start. Must be Gibbs fault.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:36 PM

hahahahahha, the offense is trying to match the defense for most idiotic miscues.

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:37 PM

If you think about it, Mostly Invisible could be our secret weapon now.

I mean put him in and no one expects anything right?

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:37 PM

Shotgun....draw.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 1:38 PM

talent, yes i understand that it is the players responsibility to not commit a penalty and to do they best in practice to rectify the situation but if the players continue to make stupid penalties year after year, at some point the coaching staff has to also become responsible for not correcting it either.

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:39 PM

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO. Too bad it had to be Thrash though.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:39 PM

TD THRASH!!

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 1:39 PM

Thrash wins the ham sandwich.

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:39 PM

Thrash gets the first TD by a receiver? Isn't the dude older than Moses?

Thank god I don't have to hear about no TD to WR

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 1:39 PM

How the F do you miss an extra point after kicking 50 FG's last week?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:40 PM

wtf

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 1:40 PM

Oh for the love of Pete!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:40 PM

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS....

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 1:40 PM

Five field goals last week and a missed PAT this week? Should have gone for two.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:40 PM

WTF! How he miss the extra point? FFFFFFF

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 1:41 PM

Okay the career builder ads are pretty effin funny.

I need to laugh after that PAT debacle. We need every flingin flangin point!!!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:42 PM

Suisham needs a Peyton Manning pep talk.

Posted by: TheCindy | November 11, 2007 1:42 PM

Lol absolutely nothing surprises me with this team. Bet ya 1 point makes a decision thes finer executed points of a team are supposed to be installed by the coaches, I love my Skins but they are a sloppy team

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 1:43 PM

Ask PMcP, apparently they didn't coach Swiss enough to make the x-tra point.

That line of thinking just goes beyond all logical though.

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 1:43 PM

Nice kickoff to the 17 yard line. Thank the lord for decent coverage.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:43 PM

Did swiss ham's leg just fall off? Fielded at the 16?!

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:44 PM

Donde esta Diddy? Incarcerated in Barcelona?

Posted by: TheCindy | November 11, 2007 1:44 PM

BTW I'd like to give a hand, shout out, high five, blog salute to any and all of our folks in uniform and vets today.

Thanks for your service from a sick shlub on her sofa in San Francisco.

I'm sending out an extra special thought to all our Skins fans and my former students in uniform.

Okay back to the game!

HTTR!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:45 PM

actually you could blame gibbs/front office for not getting a better kicker in the offseason.

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 1:45 PM

OMG. How did they not stop that?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:48 PM

I mean does Westbrook pour coyote pee on his uniform before the game so our guys get scared and don't tackle him well?

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:50 PM

Finally. A frickin stop on 3rd down.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:50 PM

First 3rd down stop! Don't go for it.

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:50 PM

Larry Michael and Sam Huff are horrible!
Sam just said London Fletcher has not made a play all day, haven't called his name yet.

Fletcher officially already has 5 tackles.

Those two are horrible, Sonny is still mentally sharp.

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 11, 2007 1:51 PM

Now let's get this lead!

Time for a double chocolate stout.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:52 PM

When will Westbrook have a bad game against us? He's like Tiki.

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:52 PM

I sometime pour pee on myself however I do not play football

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 1:53 PM

Not to point out statistical facts or anything, but Adam Viniateri has missed 2 xtra points this year. I mean, not to compare Shuisham to a First Ballot HOF Kicker or anything, but perspective...

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 1:53 PM

Someone needs to lay the damn wood on Westbrook.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 1:54 PM

actually you could blame gibbs/front office for not getting a better kicker in the offseason.

Posted by: Poopy_McPoop | November 11, 2007 01:45 PM

He won the game with five FGs last week. He won two other games in OT. That's three of our five wins. Sure, let's blame Gibbs for not getting a better one.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:54 PM

Beautiful

Posted by: vadude336 | November 11, 2007 1:54 PM

Sonny and Sam are horrible. They are blind an d senile.

Thrash can play,

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 1:54 PM

Thanks greg!

WOOOOHOOO Soup! 2 of my predictions have come true already!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:55 PM

Posted by: bangkokben | November 11, 2007 1:55 PM

Gibbs 2.0 style "we won last week so we must lose this week" play in full effect for Redskins

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 01:25 PM

Can you explain what you were talking about earlier, MMZ? All these stupid announcers keep talking about how different the game plan is this week.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 1:56 PM

Cleveland is making Pittsburgh's day miserable...

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 1:56 PM

If Thrash is a kid then I must be still in the womb:-)

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 1:56 PM

Hey maybe Soup "heard" my post about him. . .

Thrash - nice catches but man he is not the fastest horse in the race.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:57 PM

Sam just said JC called time out to make sure they wanted B Llyod in the game. LMGO!!

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 1:57 PM

Nice McCardell!

Nice ARE!

Hey lookee we do have WRs who can catch!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 1:59 PM

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:00 PM

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:03 PM

Not to be negative, but we should have kicked it to be up 13-7.

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:04 PM

A good running game is a QB's best friend!!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:05 PM

We don't need extra points. Will kick their asses w/out them.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:07 PM

Hmm let's try this again.

It wouldn't be a Skins game otherwise. We score 2 TDs and still need at least 2 scores in order to break 20 point barrier.

I laugh. I cry. I laugh.

HTTR

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:07 PM

hey guys go redskins

all though it was a bad call at least we are seeing gibbs opeing up the offense and not being conservative if we play like this every week we could esily be 7-1

Time to blitz McNabb and knock him out.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:09 PM

Offense must have inspired the D.

Go Skins!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:09 PM

I know you won't believe me but I told my son, just kick it, and we will worry about an extra point later if we need it.

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 11, 2007 2:09 PM

One more TD to Thrash.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:10 PM

Sorry JM, you're right.

Apologies all around...we're winning.

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:10 PM

One more score before the half. Break their will right here and right now!

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:11 PM

Eagles have a heck of a punter.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:11 PM

We gotta be like the Pats and run up the score.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:11 PM

gregmarino88 it all good brother. I know it's hard to stay positive with this team.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:12 PM

Did we really want to take a timeout only saving 8 seconds, when we would have gotten 2 minute warning anyway?

Now we only have one timeout remaining and 72 yards to go

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 11, 2007 2:12 PM

Here some words for Donovan. I'm thinking he's already learning them.

Now this could only happen to a guy like me
And only happen in a town like this
And so I say to each of you most gratefully
As I throw each one of you a kiss

This is my kind of town, Chicago is
My kind of town, Chicago is
My kind of people too
People who, smile at you

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:12 PM

I'm not seeing the game, but are these passes directed to BLloyd, is it a case of him not trying or a complete miss?

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:14 PM

Go for it!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:14 PM

Thats some bad play calling, right before the half....

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:15 PM

WTF?

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:15 PM

Is there something wrong with my TV or did Floyd just make an effort to make a catch?!?

Posted by: jcooke539 | November 11, 2007 2:15 PM

that last pass to Lloyd was overthrown. The first one looked like it could have been either a throw away or confusion on routes.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:15 PM

kick it deep!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:15 PM

Why the hell didn't they go for it?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:16 PM

James Thrash!! He ate his Wheaties this morning boy!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:16 PM

OK Reaper time to pick one off.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:17 PM

now watch the Iggles pad the stats going into half-time...

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:17 PM

Nice coverage by Springs

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:20 PM

gregmarino -- On one pass to Lloyd it wasn't clear whether Lloyd ran the wrong route or Soup threw it away. On the other route, Lloyd was open and running -- Soup overthrew him.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:21 PM

Griffin offsides. Must be Gibbs fault again.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:22 PM

Why is the D playing to give up the field goal? Bring the damn heat!!

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:22 PM

Are we trying to break the penalty record?

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:22 PM

TheRon laying the wood on McNabb!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:22 PM

Guys thanks for the update on Lloyd. If there was ever a chance for him to step up, this was it. Apparently Thrash is the one who was going to step up. Its not like he hasn't been given chances.

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:24 PM

wide left..watch

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:24 PM

If the Eagles lose, McNabb has made his last start in Philly.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:24 PM

Whew!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:24 PM

Gibbs better not play it safe in the second half....or else!

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:25 PM

Thrash - 4 catches for 78 yards and 2 TD's at the half. Who'd a thunk it?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:26 PM

Jeez, with Akers missing that kick, based on McP's logic, he's done for, right?

Good half, lets wear their stuff out in the second half.

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:27 PM

gregmarino, I don't agree on Lloyd. Two passes his way, neither one catchable, isn't enough. But, Thrash has been bigger than any of us would have expected.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:27 PM

Here is my question. Who is doing the play calling today? Except for the last series it seems like a different approach.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:27 PM

Pretty happy with the O and D so far, but very fearful of another conservative second half and collapse.

Question: Is Joe Gibbs that scared that he can't even throw a hail mary on the last play of the half? That is twice now.

Posted by: johnw | November 11, 2007 2:28 PM

Thank god for Thrash having a career day. Keep playing like that and I will forget about him being a bum for the first 8 games.

As for Campbell, I have said it before and I will say it again. He's a better QB when that little Midget Moss doesn't play.

Campbell's 2 best games of the year passing wise will both be games that Moss miss. Just shows you how much Moss is dogging it out there this year.

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 2:30 PM

Not many coaches would throw a hail mary on the last play of the 1st half. That's an invitation for a turnover.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:30 PM

gregmarino, Right on the Akers logic! Maybe the 'Skins can pick him up next week after Philly cuts him. But wait, we already gave up on him once. We can't admit we were wrong, can we?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:31 PM

They got to come out and score at least a field goal. If they score a TD that may be it for the Eagles.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:31 PM

Just shows you how much Moss is dogging it out there this year.

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 02:30 PM

mmz dude, This sort of stuff makes you guilty of dogging it on the blog. Come on, raise your game. Your best days come when you don't post.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:33 PM

Cleveland capitalizing on Steelers miscues.

A 90+ yard KO return and an interception deep both led to TD's. Wow!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:33 PM

Te, We did bring McCardell back 20 years later.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:34 PM

We still have at least 1 TD left in Portis and Cooley and maybe one to squeeze out of the defense.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:35 PM

Both teams dead even at 172 net yards at the half...

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:36 PM

We get the ball in the second half. I want a score! None of this conservative crap!

Come on Skins!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:38 PM

LOL, TA, that is some funny stuff right there:

"You're best day's come when you don't post".

Nicely done. To say that Moss is dogging it, is just foolish, to say the least

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:38 PM

wicked catch by Jennings for the Pack!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:38 PM

The Rock!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:40 PM

That's it for Akers. KO only carried to the 15. That's Reid's fault for not getting a better kicker in the off season. He'll be on the street for sure next week.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:40 PM

Nicely done. To say that Moss is dogging it, is just foolish, to say the least

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 02:38 PM

Kinda like how Moss's best days are when he's not on the field because he's been dogging it all season?

But i am sure our Talentless Twit will keep sucking his dick

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 2:40 PM

Rock solid start by Cartwright.

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 11, 2007 2:41 PM

McNabb looks a little dinged up.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:41 PM

Come on ride that train.
Hey ride it.
Choo choo

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:42 PM

ITA

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:42 PM

MM, grow up.

Portis came to play!!!

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:42 PM

Hmmm look at what Soups does when he actually gets to throw! He warms up and wow look he's actually doing some good stuff.

Hmmmmm

Oh and I'm assuming we're going to be hearing how Choo Choo needed that many games to get back up to speed and become the back we know he can be and is.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:45 PM

He's thrashing the Iggles today!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:45 PM

I like this playcalling. Campbell is averaging about 10 yards per pass, which is great, when combing with Portis gashing them on the ground.

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:45 PM

Portis is the reason Soups is having a good day.

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:48 PM

What the hell Sellars? You don't leap 3 yards behind the line. That and the muffed block in first half aren't highlight reel stuff.

But izz okay. We winning!!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:48 PM

Fire Gibbs Fire Gibbs Fire Gibbs

Posted by: zeb | November 11, 2007 2:48 PM

That stretch play to the left would have been nice there.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:49 PM

Sellars has lots of muscles, but the ones in his head 'cause us problems occasionally...

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:50 PM

Riggo - agreed about Soups and CP. But I do think Soups needs more than 10 attempts in a half to really get going.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:50 PM

Damn Caveman. You suppose to run right up someone chest not take a leap.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:50 PM

Fire Gibbs Fire Gibbs Fire Gibbs

Posted by: zeb | November 11, 2007 02:48 PM

Zeb, you're too late. We fired him in the first half because of Smoot's pass interference call. Or Yoder's false start, I forget.

I know, it sounds weird, but we did. Try to keep up.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:51 PM

sfskin:

absolutely on target with that comment. Can't get your groove on if they won't let you dance

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 2:51 PM

Can't get your groove on if they won't let you dance

Posted by: Riggo44 | November 11, 2007 02:51 PM

Well, Soups has helped his own cause by hitting the receivers and getting first downs today.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 2:53 PM

sacked...

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:53 PM

WOOOOHOOOO. Sack baby!!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:53 PM

i know i'm late but what the heck was that by sellers? the way JC reacted after the play signaling first down i think they were confused as to where the first down marker was

Posted by: dealer | November 11, 2007 2:53 PM

that's a fine example of how we did not have it in us to shove it down their throats and score a td going up 19-7!

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 11, 2007 2:53 PM

GRIFFF!!!!

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 2:53 PM

short

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 2:54 PM

i can't belive they're gonna convert 3rd and 21

Posted by: dealer | November 11, 2007 2:55 PM

What's up with the short kick offs? That short and now the O needs to score again.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:55 PM

Early Xmas for the Eagles with that spot on the pass.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:56 PM

OH don't tell me the Reaper is hurt!

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 2:56 PM

Reaper hurt?

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 11, 2007 2:57 PM

So much for bending and not breaking. ATTACK!!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:57 PM

3rd and 19 and they convert on Skins D!
Can't have that!

Posted by: RedskinRay1 | November 11, 2007 2:58 PM

Reaper's back in the game.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 2:58 PM

Errgghh come on defense hold it!

Buf 2 Miami 3 - wow now that is a football i.e. soccer score.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 2:59 PM

Gotta hold them to 3. Carter's been quiet today.

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 3:01 PM

Reaper going back to the locker room now.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:01 PM

Big, what did reap hurt? Knee, shoulder?

Posted by: gregmarino88 | November 11, 2007 3:02 PM

Damn!!

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:02 PM

Looked like a shoulder but I'm not 100% sure.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:03 PM

Welcome back Kardiac Kids. eeek

Gotta score.
Gotta score.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:03 PM

Grilliams is solely to blame for this. No excuse for keeping those DB's and LB's that far away from the line.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:04 PM

Here we go Redskins.
Here we go.
Here we go Redskins.
Here we go.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:04 PM

OK they just switch to the Skins game on Fox.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:06 PM

Seriously this feels like a different game on offense. The hurry up, spreading the pass and yep CP is picking up where he left off last week.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:10 PM

We need a TD on this drive.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:12 PM

Al must have won the coin toss with Gibbs this week.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:12 PM

OMG the other team got a penalty!
Woo!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:15 PM

Man, you know that Thrash is a threat when you have to hold him.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:15 PM

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The old guys are coming out to play today!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:17 PM

JC is doing his thing today.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:17 PM

YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Soups! Soups! Ol'Man and Soups!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:18 PM

I all for the old guys. The D got to stop them on this one or get a turnover. If that happens this game is over.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:19 PM

Oh and look twenty two, 22, vingt deux, veinte dos, XXII ponts!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:20 PM

very happy fox switched over to the skins game in NY :)

Posted by: spotter | November 11, 2007 3:21 PM

spotter you got that right. Not sure why they didn't have it from the start since Philly and DC is right down the road.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:22 PM

Holy Crap!! 3TD's for Campbell? Wow, these old timers are making Moss look expendable. Gibbs ain't the only one who took his Geratol today.
mmz114
Good call earlier this week saying Campbell would have a good game with Moss out. Second time this year they have done alot better without Moss. Very strange..

Posted by: ga8085 | November 11, 2007 3:22 PM

I don't trust Grilliams in this game.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:23 PM

Godfrey dropped that INT. That has to be Gibbs fault. Good thing we fired him in the first half. Serves him right.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:25 PM

bigfish--It ain't Gregg, it's the guys on the field who are blowing it.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:26 PM

Reaper would have had that INT. How in the hell did PP not bat that down at least?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:27 PM

nnnneeeeeaaaahhhhhhh

Here we go Redskins.
Here we go.
Here we go Redskins.
Here we go.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:28 PM

TE, I would agree with you if the secondary and the LB's weren't playing 20 yards off the ball and anyone was blitzing. Bend don't break does not work.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:28 PM

Damn he got to bring the heat. McNabb have way too much time back there.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:29 PM

Well atleast Gibbs can't go into conserve mode with that Eagle score.

Posted by: ga8085 | November 11, 2007 3:30 PM

fish, he had them in exactly the right place on that TD and they didn't make the play. Same thing with what should have been an INT by Godfrey.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:31 PM

Cindy,

When is Jasno going to give us a new post with the story on Taylor?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:32 PM

Man I am just hoping the Reaper will be able to come back next week.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 3:34 PM

TE, McNabb wouldn't have had all day to sit back there and throw a perfect pass if someone would have been sent on the blitz. Plus I'm not just talking about the last play. I'm referring to the whole game.

Especially the 3rd and two on the scoring drive for the Eagles in the 1st Q when the safeties were literrally playing 20 to 30 yards off the ball, LB's were at least 10 yds off the ball and they handed it off to Westbrook. It's been happening all day.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:34 PM

CHOOOOOOOO CHOOOOOOOOO!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:36 PM

He was down. That's BS

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:37 PM

We're marching it down the field. It's looking good.

Anyone else feeling really really nervous?

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:43 PM

Oh and I second that emotion.

Betts is a fumbler when it counts. He's a good #2 to rest up Choo Choo but he ain't a starter. No way no how.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:43 PM

Sellers injury hurts

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 3:44 PM

Sellers right back. No worries

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:45 PM

fish, Betts started a lot last year and had a good year for us. He's a good back. He could start on some other teams in the league and can start here if Portis breaks down.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:45 PM

Come on!!! We need TD

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:47 PM

TE, Betts was known as a fumbler last year and cost us at least two games.

You're in a feisty mood today aren't you?

oh man... was that salsa that just came up?

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 3:57 PM

I hate everyone.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:57 PM

Nice call, Riggo. Ugh.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 3:57 PM

Westbrook is most deadly with that screen

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 3:58 PM

no worries, we'll march down the field and win!

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 3:58 PM

PLEASE give the playcalling back to Al now. All we need is a FG.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 3:59 PM

Here we go Redskins.
Here we go.
Here we go Redskins.
Here we go.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 3:59 PM

Gibbs looks to be in full pout mode..lol

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:00 PM

Well here we go

Posted by: mofass79 | November 11, 2007 4:00 PM

This is a great test for Jason right now. If he's going to be a big-time QB, this is the situation that will send him forward or drop him back.

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:01 PM

Our secret weapon? BRANDON LLOYD!

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:01 PM

Is Lloyd down there praying that Thrash is hurt so he can get some playing time?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 4:01 PM

I can't stand it.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 4:03 PM

we suck....it's official....now one more shot of vodka

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:03 PM

Gibbs needs to quit after the game.

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:04 PM

I'm going to get sick now. Gotta root for the Cowboys now.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 4:04 PM

Well I guess that answers those questions about the will of this team and Jason in the clutch.

I think many of you owe me an apology this week.

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:05 PM

WTF! We went for it on 4th and 13? WHAT?

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 4:05 PM

well, that's it. can't punch it in on seven tries from inside the 5. can't gain one yard with 3 minutes left and needing a touchdown to win. can't preserve timeouts in the second half.

Posted by: msray1201 | November 11, 2007 4:06 PM

Eagles just scored too fast. Skins can get into overtime with a TD and a two-point.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 4:06 PM

Come on TD and 2 point conversion!!!

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 4:06 PM

LPD (little prick danny) is pissed!!!!!!!!!!

There go the revenues from the last three home games...LOL

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:06 PM

Season is over. This is a sorry effin' offense and an idiotic defense with a coordinator who won't pressure for the life of him. They all deserve it. Bunch of losers.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:07 PM

Riggo44 no this is not on JC. There were two drop pases. And the D totally sucked this week.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 4:07 PM

Okay, guys, make way for the haters -- they're out in force with two minutes left in the game.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 4:08 PM

My Talent Evaluator Imitation

"really its not Joe Gibbs fault"

It's not his fault that he didn't go for it on 4th and inches,

Its not his fault that he took the ball out of campbell's hands who was having a career day

It's not Gibbs fault that Talent evaluator is a giant douchebag.

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:08 PM

f*ck gibbs...he sucks as a coach and is the reason we lost this game. he calls a pass play on that goal line series we win. gibbs is a dumb f*ck, the sooner he is gone the better off we will be. stop ruining our team, old man!!

Posted by: jmc2007 | November 11, 2007 4:08 PM

jm220:

you're an idiot; shut up! Face it, I own you!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:08 PM

It's finally clear -- time for the entire coaching staff to go. Regardless of whatever may happen here.

Posted by: stevie_in_gp | November 11, 2007 4:09 PM

F it.
F it.
F it.

A run on 3rd and goal at the 8?! When a TD would've put the game away?! Never thought I'd say it, but F Joe Gibbs. I've had it. I can't believe it. And I'm 4-12 as long as he's still coaching this team.

Posted by: 4-12 | November 11, 2007 4:09 PM

I see that talent evaluator is finally off the 900 number and back with us...

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:10 PM

Haters - hold on. Wait until the game is actually over and then the blog is your happy hunting ground.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 4:11 PM

and for the dumb a$$ announcers, THE REDSKINS LET THE EAGLES SCORE ON PURPOSE. look at the play, its obvious. but gibbs is still a douche

Posted by: jmc2007 | November 11, 2007 4:11 PM

There is absolutely no reason why, late in the game, Gibbs should've stopped throwing the ball. They were getting whatever they wanted, and yet he continued to run with no real effect, particularly in the red zone. Bunch of idiots.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:11 PM

Funny. Where were all you fickle haters when the Redskins were winning in the 4th Q? Go somewhere else and complain because no one here other than other losers like you are listening to your nonsense. And you know who you are.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 4:11 PM

2 min left. Campbell can still get the ball downfield.

Just don't have Betts trying to run it in at the goal line.

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:11 PM

Exactly, 4-12. A run on third and 8. That's just stupid, stupid, stupid. But that's what this coaching staff is.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:12 PM

skins suck, cant even snap it

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:12 PM

is it official enough for ya??

Posted by: jmc2007 | November 11, 2007 4:13 PM

Ohhh, a 2-yard pass. That'll get seven.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:13 PM

Gibbs is done. Done. Done. Done. He thinks it's the '80s, and he thinks he has the Hogs. Pass the friggin' ball.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:14 PM

Thank you Grilliams for not getting any pressure on McNabb today and keeping our DB's 20 yards off the line of scrimmage and letting Westbrook kill us.

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 4:15 PM

Let's hear it from talent evaluator and JM220 and chrislarry and bigfish. Who's your daddy? Who's your daddy? Can you say Riggo44?

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:15 PM

Skins is only hope is that the Giants beat the Cowboys, but it's not as though the Skins will beat Dallas in Dallas next week. This game was the season, and Washington blew it. Per usual.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:15 PM

Okay. Now it's all yours.

I hate to say this but I think this may be the turning point.

This isn't a team with the will to win right now. The whole team needs that will and every week one unit or the other finds a way to let it slip through their fingers.

Ah SJK!

DOUCHEBAG

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:16 PM

The omen was there when Gibbs ran the freakin ball on 3 and goal from the seven. I was so proud of this team today, and now I'm just as disgusted. Gibbs will never learn, I'm sick of going through this week after week after week.

Bad imitation. It was Gibbs' fault that we lost the game. Terrible play-calling inside the five. That's on Gibbs. He let the players down, big time.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 4:17 PM

Gibbs coached this game like a loser who has no idea about how to win a football game. He deserves this loss and any criticism that may come with it. He alone blew it. And he alone blew this season.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:18 PM

At least I finally have most folks agreeing with me on what I've been saying on the blog: this team has no will to win and that's the coach's fault. To lose a critical division game at home is inexcusable; especially the way CP played. They need TD's not FG's in the red zone.

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:19 PM

This team just makes you sick to your stomach don't they.

Posted by: kost52 | November 11, 2007 4:19 PM

Gibbs: " we fought real hard, real tough loss for the swingin' souls.....no one else I'd wanna be in a fight with though," rubs brow, exhales and says we'll work real hard.

That's TWO division games this team has lost at home. TWO!!!!!!! That's unheard of from a team that actually has the desire to win.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:20 PM

That sucked. Defense couldn't get any pressure, which combined with no Sean T, really hurt us.

JM & TA, ignore the morons that will now inhabit the board. They don't deserve your time.

I will say on the Westbrook 58 yard touchdown, Landry was held by LJ Smith. Smith almost pulled his jersey off his back, but oh well, can't rely on the refs to make our breaks.

Talent Evaluator = BIGGEST DOUCHEBAG ON THE BLOG

Way to do a 180 on Gibbs

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:21 PM

GIBBS IS STARTING TO MAKE SPURRIER LOOK LIKE EINSTEIN.

Okay, that's a gross exaggeration, but...

How did Gibbs suddenly get so stupid? Was it track fumes? Old age?

And it's contageous.

I have never seen such stupid play in my life by a Gibbs coached team.

1st Drive. Three key penalties, and Grilliams plays a Bizarro-world Defense with safeties 25 yards back. Philly didn't need to block them, they were out of the play on their own.

Near the half. With 2:08 left Gibbs calls timeout, instead of letting the clock run down EIGHT seconds. This takes the threat of a pass down the middle or a running play out of the equation for Philly. They stop the skins and would have scored except for the missed FG.

But WAIT, the 'skins are just warming up on times out.

Three TO's used up ihn the SECOND HALF before the end of the game were wasted, including one that meant thay couldn't challenge the McCardell reception.

Why was McCardell running that patterns? Let's see.

Your best receiver, who you will need to run patterns downfield ion a game winning drive was on the KICKOFF return team. Nice, Joe, you got Thrash out, probably for the season. And since you have the safe and sane choice returning kciks--Cartwright--there' no chance he'll break one.

Moss is injured muscle pull. How many is that? 17.

And the moron trainer you wont' fire has 17 guys with hammies and groins.

And how can you get linemen to stay onside when you have no authority, because you consistently make moves dumber than jumping offside?

GIBBS 2.0 is an absolute disaster.

Resign, retire, quit for health reasons. And take that stupid stinking owner and his pet dog Vinnie with you. Maybe in five to ten years the stench surrounding your return to ingloriousness will be forgotten and we'll remember the good times. Maybe.

Posted by: corkczar | November 11, 2007 4:21 PM

5-5 next week with Cowgirls beating us is going to hurt a lot more.

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:22 PM

'Skins are now out of the race, even though it's not official. Three games out in the division in third place won't get you a wildcard to anything.

Gibbs must go; Jason had a great 80% of a game, but slid back badly at the end with the pressure on him.

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:22 PM

Okay. What a sorry loss.

But it's Dallas week and so I have to cling to my fairy tale fantasy to get pumped up for next Sunday.

So I'm going to focus on . . ahem . . good things.
CP had a whale of a game. Awesome.
Soups had his best game in weeks.
Our 2nd tier WRs stepped up and did a nice job.
Our o-line is really gelling and making stuff happen.

I agree coaching/play calling here was a major sinker. And the stupid penalties on defense in particular. Hopefully Grilliams takes them to the woodshed this week for that.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 4:22 PM

c'mon, sf, I love ya, but that is WAYYY too positive.

Posted by: stevie_in_gp | November 11, 2007 4:24 PM

I hate watching the Redskins. The coaching staff is a joke.

Posted by: taylorlaw | November 11, 2007 4:24 PM

corkczar bringin' the wood!!!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:24 PM

in response to bigfish's post about "Where were all you fickle haters when the Redskins were winning in the 4th Q?" i must say that that is a very shrewd argument. i was actually watching the game rooting for my team. however, in this heartbreaking loss (and in others this season) i can see our real flaw; Joseph Gibbs. He is a bad playcaller, he has not adjusted to the 21st century, and the team that he (yes HE) handpicked is a dissappointment once again dispite talent up the bum hole. He was good in the 80's during an era with no salary cap and where a few teams were really good and most sucked. well, now gibbs sucks and needs to go. he is old, senile, and just a bad playcaller. i miss steve spurrier!!! SPURRIER, COME BAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: jmc2007 | November 11, 2007 4:25 PM

Soups had his best game in weeks.

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 04:22 PM

Soup has his best game since "THE OTHER GAME WHERE MOSS WASN'T ON THE FIELD"

Our 2nd tier recievers didn't step up. We played our best recievers because our 2nd Tier Reciever Moss wasn't playing.

Too bad Moss will probably be back for the Cowgirls.

That Midget can't block anyone. Anytime he's on the field all he does is whine about "other team is playing Cover 2"

Play anyone other than Moss...Campbell plays better when he has a reciever who actually makes an effort.

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:25 PM

I agree with mmz114 about no-talent evaluator. What a wuss! Defends Gibbs all week until the end then turns on him. What an absolute coward!

Posted by: Soups1 | November 11, 2007 4:26 PM

It doesn't matter one iota how well players play if the coaches don't make the right calls. And that's certainly the case today. You all know Dallas is weak in the secondary, but do you think Gibbs calls for pass after pass after pass to beat them. Hell no! He'll run and get nothing and that'll be that. Next week could be another NE game. It's atrocious.

Posted by: CDon | November 11, 2007 4:27 PM

stevie - I feel like someone punched me in the gut. (partially cause I'm sick) after that game.

I'm sick of this feeling with my beloved team. So I'm trying to be positive i.e. pollyanna cause Dallas is coming up and I want to walk into next week feeling lukewarm rather than suicidal.

Ugh - I don't think I can pull it off though.

That was such a crap loss! UGH!! SJK!!

Posted by: sfskin | November 11, 2007 4:28 PM

JLC is going to be so happy!

I'm sure he'll be wearing blue next week! Along with the rest of you who jump on and off the bandwagon every other play.

Tough loss....nothing we haven't seen before.

Losing Sean Taylor for the game was huge and really the difference in the game.

Nice game Thrash! Hope it's not to serious.

Posted by: filmchis | November 11, 2007 4:29 PM

Coach Gibbs, please QUIT!!!!!!!!

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:29 PM

Watch, Gibbs won't come out. He's having a prayer vigil in the locker room and calling the Holy Spirit....sniffle, sniffle

Posted by: X_1967 | November 11, 2007 4:31 PM

I'm still defending Gibbs against some of the crap that he's accused of -- penalties, dropped passes, short kickoffs, etc. But I haven't, and can't, defend his play calling.

If you want to hang someone, you need to hang him for a capital crime, not for someone else's misdemeanor.

Posted by: talent_evaluator | November 11, 2007 4:32 PM

I said all week that campbell will play well. And he did. He was having a Detroit Lions type game

Whenever Moss plays Campbell looks at him as his first option and tries to stay with him too long. But that little Midget never gets open anymore. All he does is cry about Cover 2

Then whole offense stalls.

Without Moss on the field, Campblell plays like a real veteran quarterback.

The only one that could have stopped Campbell today was Gibbs...and Gibbs stopped him all right.

Gibbs and that hack CockTalentEvaluator can get the F out of town

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:32 PM

Gibbs is to blame for the WR's dropping critical passes in the 4th. Gibbs is to blame for the defense giving up 33 points. 21 in the 4th Q. Gibbs is to blame for the O-line's false start that got us into that 3rd and goal situation in the first place. WRONG!!

I tell you what Gibbs is to blame for and that is 361 yards of total offense, 3 passing TD's and 137 yards rushing. A huge step up from what we are used to seeing.

Our defense lost this game and you can blame that on Grilliams and his sorry a$$ play calling.

Gibbs lost that game when he choked and called a Time Out to kick a field goal on 4th and inches.

Posted by: mmz114 | November 11, 2007 4:35 PM

Wrong!! Gibbs is responsible for the third and goal from the seven running the ball when your QB has thrown 3tds! Thats where the blame comes in.

Posted by: ga8085 | November 11, 2007 4:37 PM

Gibbs lost that game when he choked and called a Time Out to kick a field goal on 4th and inches.

Yeah. A lot of good an extra 4 points would have made huh?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 4:38 PM

The only problem I saw in the last 5 minutes was that our left side of the line was overwhelmed by a four man rush. Bugle needs to step up with the GD O-Line. I think these old guys are not able to play the 4 quarters, we need to rotate them out more through the game.

Posted by: alex35332 | November 11, 2007 4:38 PM

filmchis No question JLC will have a field day.

Posted by: jm220 | November 11, 2007 4:39 PM

he shoulda taken the -5 yards and then kicked, it wasn't that long and it was a waste of a time out. swissy's missed pat was a fluke

Posted by: chillsonic | November 11, 2007 4:40 PM

Yipes bigfish: it actually would have mattered, right? Wouldn't have had to let the Eagles score that last TD. Skins would've been up after Westbrook's screen TD, if I'm not mistaken.

Posted by: stevie_in_gp | November 11, 2007 4:40 PM

Yeah. A lot of good an extra 4 points would have made huh?

Posted by: bigfish | November 11, 2007 04:38 PM

You are an idiot.

1st...Gibbs wasted a time out to decide to kick a FG. You never do that. Use a time out if you are going to go for it and need to sort out a play. But never to kick a Field goal.

2nd...yeah that 4 extra points at that point of the game would have gone a long way towards finishing the Eagles.

That extra timeout he wasted could have been used to challenge (a) whether Yoder got into the end zone (b) whether McCardell caught the pass.

But no....Keep defending Gibbs and go over to Talent Evaluator's house and have you gay sex.
