I am actually thinking, you want to make sure that if you sack him, stay away from his legs, go for the mid section. Let him jump on every pass as that has to reduce his accuracy by 25%. I am no pro QB, but I know you want to keep the feet on the ground to throw accurate.

For what it's worth, the University of Minnesota Law School is named after Walter (Fritz) Mondale - looks like that's about it...

Throwing a basketball when your feet are already off the ground, your arms already need to be partially extended and in motion to get any distance on the shot/pass. Seems like keeping a QB in the air would limit his distance too.

At a minimum, Gibbs will sign a one-year extension (option) so that he can coach like he's coaching for the future, instead of a farewell tour. Then, at the end of the season, he will retire after fulfilling his original five year contract.

Funny, and also not so funny. I voted for Mondale in 2002 to keep that chump Norm Coleman out of the US Senate. He took over after Wellstone was killed 11 days before the election.

I am confident the Skins will pull out a win this weekend and I don't think it will be that close either.
1. Vikings have no passing game, they rely on the run. The Skins are better against the run than the pass.
2. If Winfield doesn't play, or plays injured with that strained pectoral, Moss could have a field day against them.
3. The Vikes have one of the worst pass D's in the league, Moss and Cooley will be a focal point for the scheme this week. Also, all the plays in the playbook will be utilized with Collins at the helm. And is it me, or does Collins have that Peyton Manning extremely long head and neck syndrome? That's got to be a good omen.

I think it happened the first week Peterson was out with an injury, and before Chester Taylor was not into a rhythm ... not sure whether that is a strategy as much as a set of circumstances.

My guess is that their running game cannot be shut down, just outscored. Two solid backs (plus a Pro Bowl fullback) and a road grading line. Just need to make sure that they don't get too many yards after contact. That plus force fumbles.

Anyone notice how hard the Steelers try to strip the ball? For them, the first guy to the ball carrier has to make the tackle. The second guy goes for the ball. The third guy assists on the tackle.

Skins need to force turnovers on D.

He had like 14 rushes for 3 yds. Taylor picked up the slack, but didn't dominate by any means. They're too one dimensional...

The best way to stop their running game is to kneecap the left side of their offensive line.

Speak for yourself. I personally feel that anyone who would make the above comments simply has no understanding of history, doesn't understand the meaning of the word loyalty, and isn't the type of fan the team needs.

Toddcoat, I think you should be happy about Tunaball coming to South Florida. He knows how to build a winner. And, as everyone knows, I adore Cleolemon; Tuna is good with the young QBs. Even tho it would be a front-office job, I'd think Cleolemon would benefit.

There are a lot more shut down corners in the NFL than there are good head coaches.

I expected more from Gibbs by this point in time, and he's made some mistakes, but honestly, how many head coaches are there that are better than Gibbs? Of those, how many would you offer the job to? Of who's left, who do you think would take the job?

There are plenty of Norv Turners out there. Great guy, just don't want him to be head coach.

I don't see Coach Gibbs getting a contract extension offered at the conclusion of this season either. If by great graces we do in fact make the playoffs, the topis will be brought up at the conclusion of whatever the post season affords us. I personally believe that Coach Gibbs may simply say "no thanks" to the Daniel and put this second coming away. I also believe that Russ Grimm and Bill Cower's names will be thrown into the mix along with others.

Saunders is in his sixties, we all know older assistant coaches don't usually get promoted to head coaches and whose to say he even wants to be a head coach somewhere else? I wouldn't mind seeing Gibbs in the front office, his qualities would be much appreciated in that aspect. I just don't want to see another year of what we've seen this year as far as conservo playcalling,ineptitude, and blown leads. I don't think I could handle it...

Now you listen to me you little pip-squeak, I have no problems with younger fans. None. Or even older fans, who didn't become fans until after the Gibbs I era. Maybe that's you.

But what I do have a problem with--what I absolulte, positively, abhor--is fans who publicly diss Joe Jackson Gibbs in any way, shape, or form. It's disgraceful.

An opinion is one thing. But to publicly call for any man's firing--any man--you better have damn good reasons. I mean DAMN good. And when that someone is a person who has risen so high to the very top of his profession and set a new standard for excellence that will probably, realistically, never happen again here...to call for that very man's firing in such a time is simply disgraceful.

I'm just calling it as I see it. Some Redskins fans are simply disgraceful.

The man has tenure in this town for Christ's sake. He has earned a lifetime pass to coach this team. Lifetime! And when you little pip squeaks who don't know jack shEEt about appreciation of greatness, nor have any clue really what this man has done for this team and this town. We as residents of this area and fans of this team do not have any God given entitlement to having winning teams year after year.
