Hello From Seattle
P Diddy rocks. Prashant is the man. Want to thank him sincerely for the food and drink and good times he provided last night. Nate, Dave, Chris, Jeff ... everyone was super cool. We had a blast and hope to see as many of you guys again tonight as possible. I still can't believe how many of you guys take the time to read this thing and I love the little community we're built up. All props to you guys for the that; I'm just a lunatic with a keyboard who gets paid to blabber about football.
As such, I managed to partake in a little too much of the drinking part of things last night - big shocker there - and didn't stay out as late as I would have liked. So to anyone I did not get a chance to meet I sincerely apologize. Jason Reid told me that he met a few people later last night, after I had crashed, who wanted to say hi. Again, I feel awful about that. Jason said that he spent some time speaking to Laura, and I wanted to let her know how sorry I am for her loss and all thanks for her readership. If you read this, please shoot me an email (lacanforaj@washpost.com), and I believe we'll be at a bar called Barca tonight with Diddy and his gang, so if you can stop by I promise to be at least somewhat cogent and half-sober.
Anyway, it's a typical Seattle morning. We had a few flashes of sunshine but not much. It's raining - big surprise - and that's supposed to be a constant. If it stays like this it won't be a huge factor. The wind is a different story. It's not too crazy right now but they are expecting gusts up to 60 mph and steady winds in the 20-45 mph range during the afternoon. If that's the case, we're looking at another Meadowlands situation like a few weeks back, and that definitely favors the Redskins. If this turns into a smashmouth game I love Washington's chances.
Not much going on here. Brunell, Rabach and Fabini are standing on the field chatting and that's about it. Skins wearing burgundy pants, I can tell you that much. Not sure that Thrash will be able to go with that ankle injury, especially in these conditions, and I'll post inactives when I get them.
Either way, Diddy gets a game ball. He is most definitely the mayor of Seattle. Okay, I'm off to tear up some clam strips from the concession stands here. Wish me luck.

I heard the same thing RedskinRay stated....they were talking about it on Sportsnet last night. They said if we do not go to the SuperBowl we will probably pick @ #21.

If you've got a bottle of gin that's been sitting on your shelf for ten years, it is time to mix yourself a TODD COLLINS.

Well I know it's been posted here and will be mentioned again thoughout the day. But incase you didn't know. Regardless of what happens today...there is going to be a contingent of Skins fans out at the Park tonight/tomorrow morning to welcome the Skins back. It's going to be in the wee hours of the morning...but looking like quite a few people are already planning on being there. I know I will. Hope to see one hell of a showing of Skins fans there tonight!

So I took my boys to see National Treasure 2 on the day after Christmas.
We're watching the movie and there suddenly was Frank Herzog himself!
In the movie the President actually calls him "Frank".
We have to get Sonny in the next big movie!

I am getting so nervous!
Now my dilemma - watch at home alone so I can get all nervous and yell at the TV or go over to a friends?
Posted by: suzannepdc | January 5, 2008 2:47 PM
I'm nervous beyond belief.....and I'm sure that will not surprise any of you :)
I'm just not ready for this sweet ride to end and I know the players want it so bad.

Clam strips? Not sure that's such a smart move after a hard night JLa.....
C'mon Skins, let's get it done!!!

Don't be nervous, Lisa. Be strong, be confident. Our boys will be ready to play today.
Great, great time in Seattle last night. Biggest blog meet-up ever. Jasno was great, JReid was great, Wise was hilarious. P Diddy was the host with the most, RI rookie of the year freakzilla was even better in person, the Portland crew repped it to death, puttinforbird (formerly "nah" up here) was awesome. Great.
Back in Portland with the family this morning, heading to the sports bar soon. Should be our biggest Skins group of the season.
I'm ready to sing that song a bunch of times.

Suzanne,
Tough call, there - I'd say watch it with friends! Being in Houston, there are not a lot of 'Skins fans around, so I tend to watch by myself, but it's not the same....
I'm going the Lisa superstition route today, same 'Skins t-shirt, same shorts, same tv and hoping for the same results as for Minnesota and Dallas!

Pedro Taylor is on Comcast. What a fantastic man. Hail To The Redskins!
Posted by: mjwies11 | January 5, 2008 3:32 PM
Grrrr...it just ate my post!
Think I am goingto watch this solo - I watched the last Skins/Hawks playoff game with this one friend, so I think I might stay away. I also don't miss as much when I watch alone. Plus, I'll have my Mom, sister and brother calling constantly.
Hopefully my dirty jersey from Sunday's game will be good luck (didn't have a chance to do laundry!!)

Light rain, light winds at the moment, according to noted meterologist Tom Boswell.
Posted by: TheCindy | January 5, 2008 3:43 PM
If it can be measured, Mr. Boswell is on top of it!
Posted by: johndinhouston | January 5, 2008 3:49 PM
You ain't kidding, johnd. The Nats players were telling us two years ago that the measurements in the park were off. So we sent Boz and Svrluga to RFK with a 300-foot tape measure....We still have it in the office. Haven't used it since. If you need it, you can borrow it.

Same crap...giving to Portis on 1st down...hate Gibbs football. He keeps trying the say thing...wish Saunders was the coach...

1st?
If so, 1st time ever!
Some interesting Skins and #21 correlations:
Sean Taylor wore #21.
Vs. Chicago S. Springs' INT was returned to you guessed it, the 21 yd line.
Todd Collins then threw a TD to Todd Yoder for yes, 21 yds.
How much time was remaining in the half?
Yep, 21 seconds.
Three games later, we beat Dallas 27-6 for a yep, 21 point margin.
And looking at the draft there is a good chance we could be selecting in the position of #21 team to select.
I won't be superstitious, but did think I would bring it to everyone's attention.
