Charity Event
Scott, who has been a blessing to this blog since the start and who led the volunteer trip to New Orleans last year, is back at it.
Here's his latest venture to benefit others. He rocks and deserves our applause:
Over 35 DC Locals to Shave Heads in Solidarity with Cancer Kids
"Shavees" have already raised nearly $30,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation
WASHINGTON , DC , Mar. 3/For Immediate Release/ -- Thirty-eight local men, women, and children will be shaving their heads in solidarity with, and to raise funds for, children suffering from cancer. The shavees will be participating in the annual St. Baldrick's Foundation ( www.stbaldricks.org ) fundraiser taking place at Fado's Irish Pub at Gallery Place on March 15 th, from 3-10 PM .
The event currently has 35 volunteer shavees, who have already raised over $27,000 with another two weeks of fundraising to go. The shavees will join thousands of others in 18 countries and 46 US states to raise money for the world's biggest volunteer-driven fundraising program for childhood cancer.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation was created to raise awareness and funds to cure pediatric cancer by supporting cancer research and fellowships. The St. Baldrick's Foundation coordinates worldwide head-shaving events that raise money to support childhood cancer research. 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year worldwide; childhood cancer kills more U.S. children than any other disease - more than AIDS, asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and congenital anomalies, combined.
In 2007, the St. Baldrick's Foundation rewarded research and infrastructure grants to numerous local DC pediatric cancer facilities including INOVA Health Systems, The Children's National Medical Center, The Lombardi Cancer Center and Walter Reed Medical Center.
Barbers and equipment for this year's St. Baldrick's DC head shaving will be compliments of Bang Salon and Spa ( http://www.bangsalon.com ). Besides the head shaving, the event will also include a ceremony honoring children in the community who have courageously battled cancer.
Information on the fundraiser and an online donation form are available online at www.stbaldricks.org . Media kit attached.

You know what would be great? Trading the best CB in the NFC East for bum Lito Shep who never plays, which is better than when he does because he gets lit up by the likes of James Thrash.

Seriously, regarding taking a wide-out at 21, if everyone else worth the 21st pick in the draft if gone, and the team explores trading back, and is uable to do so, I'm ok with taking Devin Thomas.
He could fill a number of roles, starting with the #3 wide-receiver, KR, and PR.
Thoughts...

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN, reports the New England Patriots and unrestricted free-agent WR Randy Moss are close to finalizing a three-year deal worth $27 million.

Is Moss now the highest paid wide-out?
Good for NE, I hope he gets old overnight.

We need to pick one post and stay in it.

I tell you what, pre-combine I was massively on the Calais Campbell bandwagon, but after a poor combine, and an even worse Pro-Day, I'm not sure if I'd want to use out 2nd Rnd Pick on him!

WR Bryan Johnson is scheduled to visit the Redskins.
He appears to be the top free agent WR on their list with DJ Hackett being next on their list.

I was about to post about Bryant Johnson, and I see it has already been done, oh well, here goes anyway. He said in interviews while leaving Buffalo's facility that he has a meeting scheduled with us. Apparently, some Buffalo locals think we're pretty serious about going after him. I sure hope Snyderrrato doesn't get antsy on this one, he's a good player, but not that good yet. They need to "convince" him to come here for something other than big bucks.
I guess we'll see how much our FO has really learned now.
