Posted by: x | April 27, 2008 3:06 PM

Which Josh Johnson was picked by the Bucs? CNN Draft Tracker lists Josh Johnson ILB from Marshall. Is the QB from San Diego still available?

Posted by: Nick | April 27, 2008 3:07 PM

Henderson
Dixon
Justice

I am okay with any of them at 168

Posted by: RedBee | April 27, 2008 3:07 PM

Henderson or Barrett

Posted by: CLEGG | April 27, 2008 3:08 PM

What a insider. Not had one correct thing all day.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:08 PM

CNN got it wrong then, holmes. The QB from SDSU went.

Posted by: Nobcentral | April 27, 2008 3:09 PM

Please do not draft henderson, the guy has bust written all over him. Plus he played for the twerps.

Posted by: DWC | April 27, 2008 3:09 PM

give me a break, like the redskins are going to tell a journalist who they are going to pick...

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:10 PM

3 of the next 20 picks!!!!!!

Posted by: CLEGG | April 27, 2008 3:10 PM

Josh Johnson gone, as is Ainge.

Posted by: E-man | April 27, 2008 3:10 PM

Just lost out on Schmitt

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:11 PM

Cowboys draft 3 RB, strange??

Posted by: Wilco | April 27, 2008 3:11 PM

Sorry I saw wrong.

Posted by: Wilco | April 27, 2008 3:12 PM

i love the way espn is currently listing shawn alexander as a seahawks key leader...

the released him days ago...

Posted by: deadskin | April 27, 2008 3:12 PM

Would love to see Robertson there. Not sure we'd take him, but he sounds like he'd help at DE more than Dixon, as far as pass-rushing.

Well, he's available.

Posted by: SaltyDog75 | April 27, 2008 3:12 PM

PLEASE TAKE ME

Posted by: erin henderson | April 27, 2008 3:12 PM

DAMN I WANTED OWEN SCHMITT!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:13 PM

Is it just me or does Mel Kiper look more like an 1960's italian gagster each year. I think the guy is turning into a charecter from casino.
Cut your hair Mel.

Posted by: DWC | April 27, 2008 3:05 PM

It is getting ridiculous, plus his draft boards are useless. ESPN needs to do us all a favor and wack Mel Kiper. The guys a tacky tool.

Posted by: Skinard | April 27, 2008 3:13 PM

We pown all with our evil 6..6..6 picks.

Posted by: notevenfirst | April 27, 2008 3:13 PM

CNN got it wrong then, holmes. The QB from SDSU went.

Posted by: Nobcentral | April 27, 2008 3:09 PM

That sucks. he sounded like a good fit as a guy to develop.

fyi, Josh Johnson the QB is from University of San Diego which is different from SDSU. Only reason I know there's a difference is because my girlfriend went there.

Posted by: Nick | April 27, 2008 3:13 PM

dixon, dixon, dixon. come on Vinny. show some brass ones.

Posted by: Nobcentral | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

Just thinking there are a lot of special players left, maby we grap a lot of talent whit last 5 picks (more then we had last year)

Posted by: Wilco | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

Kicker

Of course

Posted by: RedBee | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

WOWOWOWWOW A KICKER

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

A KICKER??????

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

Posted by: Comeon | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

SWEET!!!

Bye Bye Frosty...

Posted by: BT | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

PK WTF?

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

a PK??? wtf???

Posted by: deadskin | April 27, 2008 3:14 PM

A PK? They passed on 2 QBs and a FB for a PK?

Posted by: ChucklesHB | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

Punter?

Posted by: Greg | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

lolololololololol

Posted by: Terpin It | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

im feeling a trade down...i think theyre going for 6 picks in the 7th

Posted by: hail196 | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

A kicker?!? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Posted by: Mattsoundworld | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

Oh thank god now we can use that crazy 2 kicker formation I always dreamed of... @$$ H@T$ all of them!!

Posted by: Alex35332 | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

what draft board is VinnyDan watching??

Posted by: Wilco | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

Strengths: Powerful, generally puts good air under the ball and gets excellent distance on kicks. Accurate, can place the ball inside the opponent's 20-yard line, and kick away from dangerous kickoff return man. Efficient and gets rid of the ball quickly.

Weaknesses: Handled the holding duties but has not kicked off while at Georgia Tech and lacks ideal versatility.

Posted by: RedBee | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

A punter?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?\
WTF?!?!?!?!?

Somebody slap Vinny C with a salmon fish.

Posted by: Nobcentral | April 27, 2008 3:15 PM

Why not go special teams from our very special braintrust? Um..I sseriously would have gone punter

Posted by: notevenfirst | April 27, 2008 3:16 PM

THE BEST PUNTER IN THE COUNTRY IN COLLEGE. YAY!!!

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:16 PM

I like this pick. We really needed a punter. We have another pick coming up and should be able to get a DL there

Posted by: BT | April 27, 2008 3:16 PM

Not bad. Sounds like the best P in the draft (not a PK, as far as I can tell). Not sexy, but we'll appreciate it when he pins teams deep.

Posted by: SaltyDog75 | April 27, 2008 3:16 PM

Well, you know, they had him next on their draft board, so they had to take him.

Posted by: RedBee | April 27, 2008 3:16 PM

a punter... are you serious.. i actually would have rathered them trade again

Posted by: hail196 | April 27, 2008 3:16 PM

Hey they got the #1 WR #1TE and .... the first kicker? now I'm officially scratching my head. Essentially we made a trade to draft a kicker.

Posted by: JustinBaker | April 27, 2008 3:16 PM

the redskins seriously did not just draft a punter

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:17 PM

you guys can knock the kicker choice if you want but last time I checked our kicking game SUCKED the last few years punting and FG

Posted by: leevi98 | April 27, 2008 3:17 PM

WHO TAKES A KICKER?!?!?!?

Posted by: harrisso | April 27, 2008 3:17 PM

Bye Bye, Frosty.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:17 PM

So Long Frosty

Posted by: So Long Frosty | April 27, 2008 3:17 PM

We need a flexible OL, maybe a center. USC Matt Spanos? He can move around, play C, OT, OG. How about an OT with a high Wonderlic?

Posted by: Joe | April 27, 2008 3:17 PM

not a kicker....a PUNTER

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:17 PM

He's a punter according to scouts.com at espn.

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:18 PM

does that mean they expect to be kicking a lot?

Posted by: JustinBaker | April 27, 2008 3:18 PM

I realy like this, every pick I think WHY...then I read about the player and he is pretty talented and I like the pick.

Posted by: Wilco | April 27, 2008 3:18 PM

Im convinced vinny was sent here to destoy us he's relly a cowboy fan abd him and jerry jones are best friend's.

Posted by: D.C. | April 27, 2008 3:18 PM

If he is a punter, why would you list "hasn't handled kick off duty" as a weakness?

Posted by: BT | April 27, 2008 3:18 PM

DCSween will LOVE this pick!

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:18 PM

Someone needs to check Vinny's family history for mental illness

Posted by: harrisso | April 27, 2008 3:18 PM

He's a good punter

Posted by: JD | April 27, 2008 3:19 PM

OK, he's a good punter, but can he rush the passer?

Posted by: Uncle Keith | April 27, 2008 3:19 PM

didnt know we had a need at PK...punter maybe...but kicker??? and when we have more pressing needs at DE, DT, S and OL and guys still available we like??? wtf???

Posted by: deadskin | April 27, 2008 3:19 PM

YOURE TELLING ME THE KICKER WOULDNT HAVE BEEN THERE 12 SPOTS LATER??????

AT LEAST TAKE ROBERTSON FIRST!!!!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:19 PM

who wastes a pick on a K when you already have a good one? Kicker IS one of the few positions where you do draft for need, not BPA. Idiots. The world to Vinnie and Danny is black or white now. Whats next, a P because he is at the top of their board? We traded a higher pick for this?
Total morons. Total fools. Please Vinny choke a chicken bone and let those big beady eyes finally pop completely out of your head.

Posted by: oddjob | April 27, 2008 3:19 PM

If they're stuck on drafting wide receivers and punters, may as well go back to throwing money away via free agency.

Posted by: spike_2.0 | April 27, 2008 3:19 PM

pretty sure we probably could have gotten him with one of our 3 7th round picks..

Posted by: hail196 | April 27, 2008 3:20 PM

Frost is the worst punter in the NFL, I'm ecstatic that we nabbed the best punter in the draft. There aren't any QB's worth taking now, maybe could've gone for a C/G but, we pick again in a bit, don't hate so quickly people!

Posted by: Anotherwes | April 27, 2008 3:20 PM

You know what's interesting...they'd probably get criticized for not getting a punter if Frost screws up. This is what you can do when you have 10 picks

Posted by: Anonymous | April 27, 2008 3:20 PM

Great litmus test to see who REALLY knows football.

GREAT PUNTER = GREAT PICK

Posted by: corkczar & Guy | April 27, 2008 3:21 PM

Brooks may not be the most versatile kicker in this year's draft and he could still become a little more consistent but no other punter possesses his blend of touch and power so he could get drafted as early as the fifth round.

Posted by: Club 320 | April 27, 2008 3:21 PM

he IS a punter. field position. Not sexy, but a basic concept.

Posted by: E-vent | April 27, 2008 3:22 PM

We don't need a punter. With all these receivers, we should never have to punt again.

Posted by: Uncle Keith | April 27, 2008 3:22 PM

He was a second team all-american punter. That means the first team all-american punter is still on the board for our next pick!
