Google Phishing
Internet security firm Websense is warning surfers to be on guard for a phishing e-mail that pretends to be from Google alerting recipients that they have won $400.
The e-mail directs users to a spoofed copy of Google's site, where "winners" are prompted to click on another link to claim their prize money. The next page asks the visitor to enter their credit card number and shipping address.
I don't know why anyone would fall for this scam, although I'm sure some will, if for no other reason than it takes advantage of a trusted brand that hasn't thus far been exploited by phishers (at least to my knowledge).
Frankly, I've been wondering when we're going to start seeing the Skype phishing sites, seeing that the single biggest target of phishing scams -- eBay -- now owns the company.

What if a million Googlers responded to such phishing (using sham email addresses), thereby sending the phishers on a million wild-goose chases. Might that not at least slightly discourage them?
