A Porn Star's Odd D.C. Connection
The hard-core party crowd in Washington, D.C., is buzzing and giggling about next Tuesday's much-hyped "event everyone will be talking about" at Indebleu restaurant's Tantra Lounge. That's because they'll be able to rub elbows (and who knows what else) with the portly porn star Ron Jeremy. (Sorry, we can't provide a link to Jeremy's work.)
Jeremy, star of VH1's "The Surreal Life Fame Games" and author of "The Hardest (working) Man in Showbiz," will be the featured "celebrity host" of the party.
Better get there early, kids. The ad promises that the first 50 guests will receive "Late Nite party bags with stimulating party gifts!"
In the six-degrees-of-separation category, one of Jeremy's more obscure claims to fame was reported this week by the celebrity gossip Web site TMZ. Jeremy, it turns out, went to high school with former CIA Director George Tenet.
"George Tenet's Porno Connection," blares the headline on TMZ, which obtained high school yearbook photos of Tenet and Jeremy. If you look closely, you can kind of see how one of them wound up a porn star and the other the U.S. government's top spy.
Oddly, in his new book "At the Center of the Storm," Tenet brags about being named the "Public School 94 doubles stick ball champion" but mentions nothing about his high school glory days with Ron.

How about Jeff Gannon, ex-prostitute and fake journalist, hosting a National Day of Prayer in Washington? Oh! I forgot! He is probably born-again. Will we ever know why Gannon made so many visits to the WH a few years ago? Who is it that he was *escorting*? Rove?

And who might have guessed that Ron Jeremy would end up with a more honorable legacy than George "Coward" Tenet.

Don't you think the association of Tenant and Jeremy should be considered nine inches of separation?
I wonder if Tenant has attended his HS reunions?

I knew about your editorial on Alvaro Uribe and Colombia. I think you are wrong, because it's very important to control politics to Uribe's government, since it's claire it recieved paramilitar aid, and his desmovilizations politics are clairly favorable to them. I agree with democrat position. I beg your pardon bacause my poor english. Thanks.

Not sure how Tenet's porn connection links with aid to Colombia, but since you raised it, the more military aid the better. Colombia is a safer and more secure democracy than it was eight years ago, and much of the credit goes to Uribe and Plan Colombia. Uribe's administration has been far from perfect on human rights, but the leftist insurgents and criminal kidnap gangs have posed a far greater security threat than the paras.

Actually it would be "9 and 3/4's" of separation, High School Reuinion Committee.

I love your column. It's politics-light. Good to know that not everyone takes politics in D.C. too seriously.

Ron Jeremy knows a bit about "stick ball" as well.
