Now Batting, Henry Waxman

Shucks. We were hoping to see a potential pitcher's duel next week but a House committee has postponed a day of scheduled testimony from two of Major League Baseball's best pitchers accused of taking performance-enhancing drugs: Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte.

Clemens and Pettitte, close friends who have spent much of their careers with the New York Yankees, along Brian McNamee, Kirk Radomski and Chuck Knoblauch, are now scheduled to appear before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Feb. 13. The committee and lawyers agreed to wait until after the sentencing of Kirk Radomski, the former Mets clubhouse attendant who is cooperating with former Sen. George Mitchell's steroid probe.

In a joint statement released yesterday, Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and ranking member Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.), said, "Postponing the hearing will provide additional time to coordinate the Committee's investigation with the Justice Department's ongoing efforts."

But the committee still plans to hold a hearing on Tuesday with testimony from George Mitchell himself, Baseball commissioner Bud Selig and Major League Baseball Players Association chief Don Fehr.

what a waste, they pass budgets months or years too late, but have plenty of time to complain about baseball

Actually, guy, the House passed its FY2008 budget on time, on March 29, 2007. And how do you propose the Oversight Committee should be working on the Budget or the spending bills for 2009 when that is the responsibility of other Committees and the President hasn't even released his budget proposal yet?

Give the game back to the kids !!! why the kids that play today are brats...they need their mommies and daddy's there to push the coach around and make sure they get to play. even if they are terrible...when we were children we played all types of sports and our parents didn't have to be there, we had a great time, and if you were awful wellllll..then you found another sport that suited you better, we have allowed our children to be dummbed down..just like all over this country, Wasting precious time and money on adults that are jacka%$#@...Please get to the real meat and potatoes and Impeach DARTH (DICKY) Vader..

I can't believe Waxman thinks baseball is more important than nuclear espionage. :(

Here's what I'm talking about if anyone is curious!
