Clinton, Fighting For Obama's Foreclosure Legislation?

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) raised eyebrows Tuesday night in her Indiana "victory" speech when she said: "I say it's time to freeze foreclosures for families most at risk of losing their homes, including our soldiers who are in harm's way and are being foreclosed on here in America."

Funny enough, legislation to do just that -- freeze foreclosures for veterans and military families -- is moving through Congress. The bill, sponsored by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), was tacked on to a housing bill now in conference between the House and Senate.

But Clinton is not a co-sponsor of the bill. Her Democratic presidential primary rival, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), is.

One congressional aide (and obvious Obama supporter) said, "I guess Hillary was right after all when she said one candidate just offers pretty speeches. Unfortunately, it looks like what happens in Indiana stays in Indiana."

Or maybe Clinton was plugging Obama's bill, and this is the first step toward unity and healing.

Dear Fellow Americans,

Our Great-grand Nation, the United States of America
is and will face very critical and substantial
"Challenges" in coming,
months, years, and decades to come.
It is very essential that we pick out our next
President on following criteria in mind.

1. A candidate with "Vision and Mission".

2. A candidate with " Stable Character and Integrity"
.

3. A candidate with "Presidential Temperament" and
"stable Judgment".

4. A candidate with "little "Washington" exposure"
and
"real connectedness with New Voters".

5. A candidate who "Inspires us up" rather than
"Tears us down".

6. A candidate not based on sexism, racism, and
ageism.

In my professional and personal opinion, the only
candidate who has the above qualities and
characteristics and is also cool, calm, and collected
is Senator Obama.

As an independent registered voter since 1980. I voted
for Carter, voted for Reagan, voted for First Bush,
and second Bush in 2000 and In the process last
interest in Washington politics as usual and I
stopped voting. Not a good idea under any circumstance
particularly at present.

This time we can not afford to stay on side lines and
let Washington stay the same.We can not afford our
Greatgreat Nation to become less than what we are and
can be.

We need to send clear and candid message to the world
and some 24 hour partisan hateful media. These media
outlets are trying to deprive, dupe, and derail us
from getting it right this time.

They are trying there best to deny us better rather
than bitter future. { Our Greatgrand Nations people
are persistently and constantly subjected to
Psychological terrorism" without their knowledge thru
these hateful partisan media outlets.

We Americans are should not and would not to allow
them
psychologically terrorized, traumatized and silence us
this time.

I am sure that we will get it right this
time and elect Senator Obama our next President. let
us not get dragged down into racism, sexism and
ageism.

Let us remember that our Greatgrand is constituted of
family, friends,fellowships, faith, funds,foundation,
fun, and future with fairness and freedom and without
fear or favor.

We can not afford to lose any of above. Let us stand
up, be counted, save, build our Greatgrand Nation for
centuries to come and regain our world economic, and
power status back.

God Bless our Great grand Nation and its diverse
people.

Our Greatgrand nation needs present and future
stability, security, safety,sustained progress and
restoration of our due status in this perilous Global
World at the all levels.

Yours sincerely,

Hillary Clinton is now a snake in the grass and can't be trusted. No one in their right mind would continue with the odds being as they are, so she is most likely up to something. And I am sure it is not good for Barack Obama.

It is time for about 180 superdelegates to come to the forefront and end this thing.

Posted by: Susan | May 7, 2008 4:39 PM

Hillary's temperment , style and tenacity are prefect for a Senator. It's time to let Obama have the nomination. Come on Super Delegates, end this now!

Posted by: thebob.bob | May 7, 2008 4:43 PM

Or she has seen the light, though her ego won't allow her to concede. Maybe it is her way of groveling for the VP slot.

Posted by: str8talk | May 7, 2008 5:24 PM

Hillary is DELUSIONAL and in DENIAL!!!

Do we need another president that can't face REALITY? Another PANDERER? Another DIVISIVE figure that incites FEAR?

I think not.

OBAMA '08!!!

It's time to stop beating up on Hillary and using caps for every other statement. I have supported Obama since January. He's winning the nomination. Show a little class and stop exaggerating Hillary's dark powers. Her campaign is out of money but losing is difficult, especially if you have fought hard, which she has.

Posted by: mruth | May 7, 2008 6:15 PM

It'd be foolish for anyone to think that members of the Democratic Party don't have to answer to special interest (a.k.a. big donors). And Mrs. Clinton is certainly one of those. After years of preparation and millions in bribes, I mean donations; it must be disconcerting, demoralizing, scary and impossible to comprehend, to see her campaign coming to an end. How would she explain it to her financial supporters? How would she convince her ego, that her second White House stay was never meant to be? How this? How that? In a way it's sad but I truly hope she'd be able to see beyond it, and step aside while she can in a dignify way. Mrs. Clinton, listen to your very intelligent mind and not your ego or your heart. Please!!!!

Posted by: P. Aybar | May 7, 2008 7:34 PM

Hillary needs to stay in the contest for 3 reasons. 1. She needs to raise money to pay back her loans to her campaign. 2. She needs to campaign on to help unite the party and show that John,(Bush-3), McCain is the common target for Democrats not each other. 3. To allow her supporters, who have fought as hard and loyally as Senator Obama's supporters, to have the opportunity to cast their ballots for her. Senator Clinton owes them that.

Posted by: mvers | May 8, 2008 12:12 AM

Since Clinton is not a co-sponsor of the bill and her Democratic presidential primary rival, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and front runner, is; maybe Hillary has another new rule--Unity. Yesterday she said under the Republican rules e.g. "winner takes all". Until she officially bows out; she'll help Obama. But, Obama must pay her campaign debt.

In addition to her "states of denial" (pun intended), I see another critical state. Hillary's campaign is broke which is due to mismanagements. I can't see her managing this nation's economy because of this (one of her imperfections); I'm not sneering; I'm serious. We're all human; make mistakes; but we usually learn from those. Hillary hasn't. Florida, Michigan, West Virginia, the rest of the states, winner takes all, momentum, Obama is not electable; or whatever she conjures the numbers just are not there.
I suggest one of Hillary's New Rules should be studying accounting 101.

Next, REALLY help Obama; and don't change the game again. Unity to the party is needed. Then she can bow out gracefully; if you're planning your future in Republican rules.

mruth===thankyou. I appreciate your efforts to help calm things down. A lot more people have given in these campaigns from money that they didn't really have to spare or could have easily used for themselves or family, people with not a lot of money to play with, and they have given labor for the campaigns, both labor and money close to the heart. It is understandable that emotions are high, especially with a first time involvement. The politicians will come together, but all of both politicians supporters will be losers if we don't come together. Winners need to win graciously . I suspect things are winding down as Hillary has deleted any reference to Obama today in her speech.Don't be surprised if they are on the same ticket. I don't think it will happen , but it could.

I wonder if Hillary would want people to give her their gas tax money. Just a random thought.

I am no fan of Hillary, however, she can run as long as she wants. It is America. I just wonder what the point really is. She is broke, and in debt. This is not good and or fruitful.

McCain is weak and it is time for the DEMS to unite.

Posted by: Vance McDaniel | May 8, 2008 6:19 AM

HRC was declared the presumptive nominee by the media almost a year before the first ballot was cast. Unfortunately, for her, she beleived in her inevitability too. Then the voting started and the result has turned out to be the polar opposite of what she had planned and perceived. It is not surprising that she and her campaign have difficulty grasping the new reality that it is over.

We, supporters on both sides, have argued and even fought vociferously for our candidates but now we need to show more maturity and stop the name calling. We do have a new presumptive nominee and sooner or later the new reality will sink in with Senator Clinton. Lets all remember we all need to defeat McCain. Hillary, like her husband, will go on to make millions but we still have major problems facing our middle and lower classes.

Let today be the beginning of the new phase where the supporters become united and lead the way rather than waiting for unity at the top; that will happen if we provide the impetus for it.

This should be a very good year for Democrats but it appears that the DNC is screwing it up again by pushing hard for the wrong candidate.

Do you want REAL CHANGE? Then hear this... The McCain and Clinton ticket is probably the BEST and THE REAL DEAL to COME!!!

With this combination, McCain will have a better shot of winning PA, OH, FL, NJ, MA and even CA. The women's votes, the blue collar votes, independents, older people, and yes young Hillary supporters as well. With Hillary in the team, it will put our candidate in at a very meaningful lead position moving forward.

This will be a LANDSLIDE and UNSTOPPABLE COMBINATION!!!

Yes we're democrats but are seriously thinking of voting for McCain if Hillary doesn't win the nomination. If Hillary is with him so much the better. This will be a very strong ticket. As the exit polls show there is at least 40-47% of us, middle of the road democrats, who feel this way right now. Even if only 15%-20% of that is more than enough to win this election.

Unlike Obama, McCain and Hillary have very strong records of TRUE BIPARTISANSHIPS in the Senate, NOT ONLY IN WORDS BUT IN DEEDS!!!

What a very SOLID COMBINATION this will be.

SEN McCain show your maverick self and make REAL HISTORY...

We already passed that law. Section 533 of the Civil Service Members Relief Act provides that after default on a mortgage executed prior to the mortgagor's entrance into military service, the mortgagee cannot sell, foreclose or seize the mortgaged real estate during the period of service plus 90 days thereafter without a court order. Failure to comply with the statute is not only a criminal act, but also likely renders a foreclosure without court approval void.

So? I don't see myself unless I look in a mirror. Anyway, you obviously lack an education, so I can understand your voting preference.

I am a woman..and African American..Why do
all of you whites out there think that
Obama is going to save you...A pretty speech,
and you have declared him to save America...
Miss Hillary has made mistakes, but I do have to say this, she loves this country..she loves your children. I have spoken to the lady, and she holds back tears because she knows that people hate her..but she wants
to fight for us down and outers...You people
of Ivy League don't care about the poor or
the Blue Color workers..What goes around,
comes around...you will be in it with us one day and then you will know...When you have lost your job, your home, or have a child,God for give, that is ill...Remember,
Hillary wanted to help us all...not only the few that already have....You all make
me sick and I want to puke...you voted
for Bush...and you have not learned....
Go ahead and make a mistake again..Bring
this country to it's knees...
you voted for Obama...and the Republicans
win in November...

I am an Obama supporter. Senator Clinton will quit when she is ready. No one should try to bully her. She is running her race as long and as tough as she can because she believes in it.

We need to let her do her thing. I believe that she like Senator Obama will do the right thing and bring us all together because folks, our focus should not be simply on two great candidates for the Presidency. Our focus should be on the Democratic President and the overwhelmingly Democratic Congress that will take office in January 2009. Vote Democratic in November!

Everybody...Keep your eyes on the prize.

We will end up with the dream ticket: Obama- Hillary. We are sitting and waiting for that day... to come as soon as possible.

Posted by: Mike Hanson | May 8, 2008 3:51 PM

Tracy:

I can't speak for "all us whites", (and imagine the FUROR if I had said "all you blacks") and I don't have an Ivy League education...I do, however, have the common sense necessary to see through the pandering, say ANYTHING to get elected rhetoric of Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton changed her tune with every different constituency. Blue collar? Come on, let's grab a beer and a shot. Hunter? Hey -- I held a gun once! Struggling with making ends meet? Here's a meaningless gas tax holiday that will put $28 in your pocket (but thousands out of work - she forgot to mention that part, didn't she?)

I've met Senator Clinton, too and she may care about "down and outers" to get your vote, but once in the White House, all she would care about are the deep pockets that got her there. With all your berating of "us Ivy Leaguers" you seem to have forgotten -- Hillary Clinton is an Ivy Leaguer. She and her husband made over $100 MILLION dollars last year and they could care less about you right now...Unless of course, you're a super delagate.

I said Whites, to refer to the white men
who the voters seem to be for him...Is it
because you don't want a woman in the
white house...WE blacks who feel more white
then black, do not want Obama to be the nominee. WE want our American system to
work. We don't want things taken from the White house and changed into black history
month 12 months a year. If you don't get
it now and understand what I am saying,
you all never will. The Clintons got their money after they got out of the W H..not
while they were there. A lot of people
sell books...Obama is one of them. How
can you vote for the lies that Obama have already said, and not forgive Miss Hillary?
Have you ever asked anyone about the job
that Mrs. Obama has now??? She runs a hospital???? Have you ever heard any of the
stories about her??? Do your home work!

I'm voting my genitals, not my race!

Posted by: Aisha | May 8, 2008 6:14 PM

Obama stands an excellent chance of winning the Presidency for the following reasons:

The Clinton's have not fully disclosed anything asked of them, and apparently Hillary will do ANYTHING to win - which makes me wonder how many people would she throw under the bus on her way to the top?

In Arizona, McCain was caught with his hand in the preverbal cookie jar due to the Keating Scandal.

Obama was raised during a time of extreme racism for which children having both a black and white parent were rejected by both races; therefore, we are truly mistaken if we assume that Obama knows nothing about racism, cruelty and hatred - he has experienced it two-fold and still believes in the good in people.

Obama cannot say his mom AND dad provided moral support because he was not raised with a father, and his mother passed away from Breast Cancer at 52.

I, personally, would be honored to see Obama walk off of Air Force One representing the USA, as he - unlike any president (with the exception of Kennedy) has what "it" will take to bring the USA back to a country we can all be proud of.

Posted by: Colton | May 8, 2008 6:26 PM

Hillary is trying to sabotoge the Democratic party so McCain can win and she can say,"I told you so" and be the Nominee in 2012.

She would sell out the party, the voters and America to four more years of failed policies so she can have a chance for power.

Posted by: Sam | May 9, 2008 1:08 AM

some of you guys are right about Hillarys need to stay in the race, she needs to pay herself 11 million dollars back and also needs to save face somehow, Barack is going to continue to run through this primary focusing on McCain and rightfully so, let the lady lose gracefully-if shes capable

Posted by: joSHm | May 9, 2008 1:54 AM

its obvious most people want mrs clinton to quit now. the most reason being that they fear the damage she may cause oboma at the end especially in unifying the democratic party and also because people fear she may in some way (though remotely unless she succeeds in blackmailing the super delegates) she may become the nominee and give the presidency to Bush3, which is what the republicans want most. let the people's choice count now, which is what democracy really is. and about florida and michigan, let the rule of law prevail., and no body is above the law even if it is a party's law.

Go obama!i have always voted in the general election and i have never donated money to any campaign until recentely.senator obama is a breath of fresh air in the political landscape.I beleive that senator obama is honest and clean as can be for a politician of his stature. he has been in washington briefly therefore he is less coruptible.i am waiting eagerly to watch him debate sen mc cain.

Clinton, Fighting For Obama's Foreclosure Legislation?

Remember the phrase 'I love when a plan comes together'. Well there it is. Hola!
Together in unity see what can happen. Together, 'Yes We Can', wouldn't you think so? A much needed bill enroute for the benefit of the American people, in the midst of such alarming amounts of foreclosures manifesting. I feel that we will receive some positive feedback from our democratic nominee. Obama is more than mere words. Just have faith in the power of love, faith, belief and change. I can testify to positive oocurrences despite the indifferences we all may have. We all wants a better tommorrow for ourselves and especially our kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids. Don't expect Obama to do it all, it will take the efforts of all the American people to make this change. Obama has constructed a wise plan and now we all have to do our parts too. I know Hillary have a desire to do what's right for America as well, it's apparent that defeat doesn't come easy for some. But together it would be a lot easier to accept, especially since both democratic nominees are so proud of their country. God Bless America.

Posted by: Nisey01 | May 10, 2008 5:02 AM

the dnc has screwed up... they are asking us hillcrats to fall in line, but i will not and there are many of us. mr. obama has not even tried to earn my vote by showing any substance behind his rockstar image. why would i vote for someone who is going to lose in november... i think the dnc seriously does not want to win the white house because they want to keep their majority in the house and senate intact. see if a dem wins the white house it is more likely they will lose their majority in the congress because repubs will be so upset to have two branches dems... and i am starting to believe they are deliberately throwing it to keep their majority in the congress the branch that actually has to get bills done... that is my theory... otherwise obviously the smartest thing to do to actually win the presidency in november would be to elect hillary. i think the repubs choosing mccain was the smartest thing they could have done. if they had chosen someone who was too conservative then it would not be so easy for us to feel okay with picking mccain over obama. plus i think with mccain's age he may actually only want to run for 4 years and not 8.

Posted by: kanaughty | May 10, 2008 2:37 PM

Thanks, Hillary , keep up the good work. Exhale and continue with positive attributes, you should find it to be a bit refreshing, I would say. My family are strong supporters of Obama, both financial wise and in all efforts possible. We know the truth and apparently you have picked up on it too. You go girl, you must have come out of the darkness into the marvelous light. How bright?
