for someone who does urine testing for drugs, the idea of putting urine on a slide and then looking at it through a microscope is quite disgusting. Guess that's why no one in the A-League ever tests positive.

Very good player for Melbourne. High work rate, great passing and certainly an attacking style of midfielder. Played through the centre for Melbourne but given his ability could go wide. Only concern is that he may not have electric pace to get around the full backs if he is out there.

It may be a ridiculous ad but Fred had a fantastic season for Melbourne Victory in the A league here in Australia. One of three Brazilians signed for the second season of the A League, Fred was the only one who made a real impact. A great touch, good vision and a excellent work rate made him very difficult to contain.

The season was rounded off with a 6-0 victory against Adelaide United in the Grand Final in front of 55,436 fans in Melbourne. Fred assisted 4 of Archie Thompson's 5 goals.

My friend hasn't matched much or any MLS -- so I imagine he's somewhat overestimating the speed of MLS defenders (though some are quick). Still, it probably means Fred wouldn't be one to just sprint down the sideline and cross the ball -- I'd imagine him linking up with Gomez more and playing through the middle than a a lennon-type player.

If Fred is so good, why is he going to MLS? He should be in Europe

RU kidding? The A-league is 10X more relevant in Austrailia than the MLS is in America, even though they have only been around for 3 or so years.
