I think he's right about Bellamy though. Bell's a loose cannon.
Bellamy drives Shearer to drink, lol.

Is he related to Harry at all?

What's Ironic is that 'Bellamy' is an old anglicanisation of 'Belle amie' or 'Good Friend'. 'Shearer' is old english for 'He who slices you off at the knees'.

No-one is paying attention to this inferior product anyway.

I remember an Alan Shearer who won a trophy with Blackburn. I wonder if this is the same chap?

Totally off-topic, I know, but:
From today's Nationals (baseball) discussion:
"Arlington, Va.: The outfield grass looked terrible last night. How is the field condition regarded by the players compared to other venues?
Barry Svrluga: They hate that the soccer team plays there. They mow the grass really low and it gets slippery. Plus they don't seem to be able to get rid of the lines. The other night I was sitting in the pressbox and, in my best Charlie Slowes voice, said, "And Kearns steps juuuuuuuuust inside the penalty area to make the catch." Ridiculous.
[ snip ]
Troy Perkins: Just so you know, I blamed the one goal I let in against Chicago on the third-base foul line grass. We all agree it's ridiculous. At least you guys know you have a new stadium coming, we're still waiting. And we're the ones that kept RFK in barely operable condition for the day baseball came back to Washington.
Barry Svrluga: Who the heck is Troy Perkins? Goff? Goff? Are you here?"
Okay, Goff, fess up. Was that you? :-)

LOL
I did see that in Barry's chat.
No, that was absolutely not me.

LOL @ England exiting yet another major tournament via PKs.

I seem to remember grass causing a poor clearance and a goal against us in our first shared season too! Either Bos or Namoff misjudged a ball as it hopped over their foot.

BYE BYE BASEBALL!!! Please leave your beer though.

"LOL @ England exiting yet another major tournament via PKs"
Major tournament? [scoff] If the UEFA U-21 championship were really a major tournament, some Chinese company would be trying to sell air from the stadiums.

"LOL @ England exiting yet another major tournament via PKs."
They wouldn't have if only Alan Shearer had been there.
(That's actually true, but let that go for now...)

Big Al is absolutely right in pointing the finger at Bellamy. Bellamy sent abusive text messages to Shearer. So anything and everything Shearer can do to prevent Newcastle from bringing in any more locker room cancers is OK in my book. It's bad enough we've got Barton at the team now. Barton and Bellamy in the same room might spark visions of Bowyer v. Dyer a couple of seasons ago.

Shearer is swiftly becoming just like NFL great Jim Brown. Old and bitter. In his estimation, nobody will ever be as good as he was. Time for him to fade away.
