So, you might ask, how can I get away with such a random item in a soccer blog? Well, amigos, all I needed was the ticklish, 2.3-second reference to the beautiful game midway through the flick. Ha! Full eligibility for inclusion in Insider Nation.

I just got back from the movie and the sound mix was low enough that I missed the setup to the joke and only heard the word soccer.

Really happy with the movie. I was an avid Simpsons fan growing up but haven't watched more than an episode or two in the last 4 or 5 years. The series really dropped off in my opinion.
The movie was great. I'm really surprised how well they did it.

The opening here in Argentina was the largest opening night for any movie ever in Argentina.... Argentines are passionate about their futbol and Homer Simpson.

I have never seen an episode of the Simpson's. The lines I hear on the movie adverts on the radio seem devoid of humor. Totallly un-funny. I guess you had to see the show...

Goff, have you visited simpsonizeme.com ? It literally uses a close-up photo of yourself and it turns you into a simpson charachter. Let's see the Goffer in all his simpsonized glory!
