United Injury Status

Defender Bryan Namoff, recovering from a hamstring injury, was limited to individual workouts today and appears unlikely to play Saturday against FC Dallas. Forward Guy-Roland Kpene -- who also has hamstring concerns and could be seen jogging around the field prior to the U.S. Open Cup match Wednesday -- was more active than Namoff in training and seems close to game-day selection.

I am hoping DC brings the "A" lineup:

Perkins
McTavish Boswell Vanney Gros
Olsen Carroll Gomez Fred
Emilio Moreno

It'd be nice to see the (almost) full first string team together again, for the first time in a while. Too bad Namoff is taking so long to heal.

Thanks for the update, Goff.

Without Namoff, the best I'd call it is A-. I'd love to see Namoff, Boswell, Vanney, and McTavish along the back.

How's Altidore?!?!

Thanks for the timely update on Namoff. I'm a fantasy player and he's on my team. The deadline for each week's lineup is 1 hour before the first game (usually Thurs night), so I was able to substitute Larentowicz for him.

Off subject but the Soccer by Ives blog had a hysterical contest. There was a pic of two mexican fans (one who looks ridiculous) and they had a caption contest. This was the winner.

Imitation goalie gloves - $10
Imitation "Genuine" Aztec headdress - $50
"Made in China" Mexican National team jersey - $65
Watching Mexico lose 3-0... PRICELESS!

Very funny -- check it out.

Brazilian trialist was supposed to begin Friday, but they'll probably hold off until next week.

What LeesburgSoccerFan said...

I think this is may well be the defensive part of the key to how we get to where we take down the good teams on their good days. ie- win championships :-)
