Check out the Post photo gallery from the United-Fire match. Some stunning images.
And for your reading entertainment, Valderrama and a few South Korean players are in trouble.

Oh well. Remember fans, you can read hilarious quips and see funny videos on my website, bobbyboswell.com. Next year I promise to update the site even more and add more flickr photos. Also be on the lookout for more bobbyboswell.com parties in and around D.C. and maybe I'll even give you a free t-shirt.
Sincerely,
MLS Defender of the Year.

I love that picture of the Barra. The confetti shower was pretty amazing to see from across the field.

FYI - Freddy Adu scored for Benfica again. It's his 4th in 5 appearances. And he started too.

Hadn't thought about this til now: Fire put both LA and DCU out of the play-offs. BSPN and MLS are bumming, not just DCU.

Win or lose, is there another team in MLS that can bring it like DC United and its fans did last night?
Not a chance.
Great atmosphere!
Bitterly disappointed with the result, but with the Shield again, we're guaranteed another great year of soccer at RFK in 2008!
Champions Cup, Superliga, BRING IT ON!
Chicago bites.

So who do we support at MLS CUP in 2 weeks?
As United fans we can't in good conscience support the Revs, KC, Bulls or the Fire.
So that leaves the West . . . no way Ruizafloppalooza at Dallas gets my nod. That leaves Chivas or Houston.
Hmm?

Go with Dallas. They have two local kids playing for them -- center back Clarence Goodson and forward Abe Thompson.

Can DC natives root for a Dallas team while present in RFK on the same day that the Redskins play the Cowboys?

Root for Kansas City. Go 'Zards!!!!!

I'm now rooting for KC since DC is out. One of the young rookies on the team, Kurt Morsink, went to my college.

Why bother with the Cup, its the runner up prize for the season after the Ssupporters' Shield. BOYCOT THE CUP!!!
Go Arsenal!!!

Yes, BOYCOT THE CUP. Go Man United!!!
Posted by: td | November 2, 2007 2:31 PM
Don't boycott the Cup. Fenty will announce that day that we're getting Poplar Point afterall.
Posted by: Hoost | November 2, 2007 2:59 PM
I'll be going to the Cup, wearing my old DCU kit for the last time (I'll be getting new kit coming out next year).
My prediction for the game with the two best teams in Europe right now: Arsenal 1-3 Man. United.
Glory, Glory Man. United!!!!

I will keep my Cup tix...
I pray we have a good old-school English first division style streaker with nothing but a DC Utd scarf and running shoes on.
Such an intrepdi soul could do wonder for the stadium campaihn by writing a though-provoking slogan on his or her (I wish!) chest.

Can we get Freddy back?? :-)
Joke aside, for next year : Gomez out, Veron in! Moreno will stay! A couple of fast and talented flank players ..... And we will be in good shape!
Finally...Arsenal - MU : 2-0. (Adebayor & Fabregas). GO Gunners!

Houston gets my rooting interests the rest of the way. Ricardo Clark incident aside they are a classy side. Beyond that I will root for anyone who's playing the despicable Fire.

I'm torn between Houston and Dallas.
Dallas: I mean, its pretty cool to see Abe Thompson, a guy I used to defend against for years, playing and it is tempting to root for him.
Houston: They play prettier and I think would represent MLS better in international competition.

A Chicago vs. Dallas final would be miserable to watch. Between Blanco and Ruiz, I might have to be booing the entire game.

Everyone should go to the MLS Cup, wear their DCU jerseys, and sing DC United songs with the flag-waving BB and SE. How awesome/weird/surreal would that be?

Since I live in LA, I'm backing Chivas USA...vamos los Goats!
Be kind of interesting to see the two Goat sides squre off internationally in a meaningful match -- which I think Vergara and Co. have been trying to avoid.

OK, I looked at the linked story about the South Korean players. Get this:
"The day after the match he took Lee Dong-Gook - along with Kim and Woo - to a karaoke bar in Jakarta, where they drank into the early hours with female bar employees."
"Female bar employees," eh? I guess that's one way to put it. (Thanks for the link, Goffinho -- worthy of a chuckle.)

Hey Goff,
Any quotes from clubhouse indicating certain folk suggesting they might have played their last game in United kit?
I'm hoping both G and M are back, but especially G.
