Can't ESPN please fire Dave O'Brien and replace him with the commentator from Ecuador?

Can we get some love for Colombia, who took 3 points off Argentina at home in probably the biggest story in South American qualifying on the day (Ok, Ecuador's reversal was interesting as well.)

I mean no disrespect, but Paraguay has to win the award for best national team with poorest league.

The Albirojos always do real well internationally, but their clubs just are not that good.

I am not a fan of ESPN, period. But Dave O'Brien sound A WHOLE lot better than most of the ESPN commentators. GET RID of Wynaldo or whatever his hame is. He is so rubbish.

No offense taken ;) For the most part, this is true. Even though Paraguayan clubs Olimpia (It pains me very much to say this, Copa Libertadores champions 1979, 1990 & 2002), my beloved Cerro Porteno, Guarani, and more recently Libertad, have done well here and there in international tournaments, the league (and the country for that matter) is not rich, and therefore, the best players are sold as soon as anything better comes along. With a few exceptions, almost all the National team players play abroad.

RE: The broadcasters on ESPN
O'Brien has a wonderful voice but I think the best thing would be just to cover the action on the field. Just like the camera work, too many times ESPN (and FSC and even Telefutura) break up the flow of the game with irrelevant commentary, in-game interviews, crowd shots, replays and graphics. There are plenty of opportunities for this stuff during a game, but if the ball is on the field, that's all we should be looking at or talking about.

I remember complaining about never being able to watch US National Team games. I love being able to complain about other things now.

Agreed. Wynalda is worse. However, he doesn't do play by play. Apples to apples.
