Barca Toons: marketing Barca to the youth, or stoners and drug-trippers across world?
Seriously, was the catalan dialog track missing or something? Otherwise, that's the trippiest most disturbing thing I've seen in awhile. Or, did I need to play it in synch with "Dark Side of the Moon" to fully get the picture?
BTW: United played its April Fool's joke early on us in KC. Surely they were looking past KC to Pachuca. Vamos United!

Ronaldinho isn't on the roster today...first time since he joined Barca. He's not on the injured list, either, so he's in "limbo":

How can I watch streaming video of the Pachuca game on a Mac?
Should I pay for MLS.live or whatever it's called or is there another option?
I could always head back to Kitty Oshea's...
They stay open late don't they?

Where in Gaithersburg can I watch the game tonight? (my usual FSC place closes at 10:00pm...)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

gringo, truer words have never been spoken. I was torn - on the one hand I was paranoid that I was being tracked by my employer, but on the other the SI lure was so powerful that I could not stop trying. Hey I needed my SI fix.
I even emailed Goff. Nice one SG (here's hoping the jokes on you for tonight's game down in Mehico). VAMOS UNITED>

Dadryan-
MLSLive is only for MLS games. Since this is a CONCACAF Champions Cup game, Fox has exclusive rights through FSC or Fox Sports Espanol.

As for the rumored MLS acquisition...In an effort to restore her brother's reputation, Zizzou's sister (the one whose honor he was defending) has decided to lace 'em up and show the Galaxy midfield how the game is played, properly.

BREAKING! ESPN to be jersey sponsor of DCU!

Two things:
Is United our very own version of Liverpool? Looking past the league games for a couple of years now, wanting to win the notoriety and silverware from international competitions; only problem is we don't win these competitions anyway. Concentrate on the MLS schedule and playoffs. United is SO much better than any other team in MLS talent-wise. Show it on the pitch. The rest will come.
Second point: Since Dave Johnson was calling the Dynamo-Revolution for FSC Saturday evening, we got stuck with what's his name on Comcast for United's tilt with KC. This guy is AWFUL. If he uses the word "centrally" one more time, I'm gonna vomit. What's his name and Rongen did so much yapping you really couldn't pay attention to the match (as boring as it was anyway). Guys, LESS IS MORE. Take a hint from Martin Tyler, John Champion, Alan Parry and Ian Darke from the EPL telecasts and their counterpart analysts. Ledt the beautiful game flow on its own. Stop Yapping!!!

for online football(and every other sport) broadcasts. One needs free software like SopCast or TVAnts.

Posted by: mizage | April 1, 2008 1:01 PM
Goff: The Post routinely sends you to cover midweek United games on the West Coast, doesn't it? Would sending you to Pachuca really require that much more of your time or the Post's money? Or is this another case where higher-ups don't grasp the significance of this competition? I can hardly blame them, because in no other American team sport would a team juggle participation in serious outside competitions with the regular season of its domestic league.
Posted by: tri-village | April 1, 2008 1:07 PM
Can someone at Comcast congratulate Thomas Rongen on his excellent command of English as a second language, and then ORDER him to stop saying "absolutely!" in every sentence?
Posted by: Hedbal | April 1, 2008 1:13 PM
I killed a bottle of Chianti for lunch and I thought the prediction about DC United-Pachuca was a joke!
Posted by: Jose | April 1, 2008 1:17 PM

"No, I'm not in Mexico. Yes, Limarzi is there -- the team pays for all of his travel."
Is this a joke!?!
Posted by: | April 1, 2008 1:22 PM
Hey Waldorf SC - that was Tony Limarzi...the radio guy. He's usually on radio so of course he talks all the time. It's not a great transition, but certainly better than some. I certainly wouldn't want some other Comcast stand in like awful Al Koken - yuck!
But your point about taking a lesson from guys like Martin Tyler - I agree. I love the English/European style of calling games. Silence can be golden.
Posted by: DE | April 1, 2008 1:29 PM
The English radio broadcasts are controlled by DCU; they pay the announcers and cover their expenses.
If DCU makes the Champions' Cup final, I will certainly go to Houston and probably go to Costa Rica. But for the first leg of a semifinal in Mexico with a very late East Coast starting time? No.
Posted by: Goff | April 1, 2008 1:33 PM
Hedbal -- Very funny. I couldn't stop making fun because Rongen wouldn't stop saying "absolutely." He did misuse a few words, but that just made his otherwise strong command of English more obvious.
Posted by: Fisch Fry | April 1, 2008 1:40 PM
WaldorfSC, Liverpool only concentrates on international competitions because they usually have blown their shot at a league title by...oh, I dunno, November. Liverpool very much wants to win a PL title and they do take their league games seriously.
I think DCU does (as it should) focus on the league and playoffs, but if we are to put MLS on the map (since the self annointed "Gems" can't seem to do it) we have to take international competitions seriously. I think DC gets better and better from these competions and more mauture as a soccer club with a deep tradition from international exposure. Yes we took a KC loss, heck we took 3 early losses last year and things turned out OK(sans the Boswell playoff incedents). I am for an MLS title too, but no titles were won last week, and I bet none are going to be won this weekend either. But we do stand to win something big if we can do the business today and next week. We stand to win something very BIG.
VAMOS UNITED!

Hey Waldorf SC - that was Tony Limarzi...the radio guy. He's usually on radio so of course he talks all the time.
=========================================
Add to that the fact that he does his radio gigs unaccompanied, with no Wrongen or anyone else to give him a breather. Listen to Limarzi tonight, with the FSC audio stifled, and I hope you'll appreciate him:

I you have an older Mac like me, you install SopCast or TVU on your wife's work laptop and watch it there! If you have a newer Mac, you could do the deal where you install and run Windoze on it and do per the above. Result may vary.
