Another Step Closer to PG County
We offered you a pro-stadium perspective in this morning's kickaround. Now, yet another anti-stadium theme.
A group of economists have checked in on the Poplar Point/soccer stadium issue. Their conclusion: 20-30 events at such a stadium is not economically feasible for a city that would have to commit at least $150 million toward the project. 20-30 events? D.C. United alone would hold 20-30 events there. Throw in the new pro women's team, local college and high school games, national team matches, lacrosse, concerts and other non-sports dates and I would think the total would easily surpass 50 per year.
Commence tirades.....
