DCU's All-Star Snub
Jaime Moreno, commenting on no United players in the All-Star Game for the first time in MLS's 13 years:
"For me, it has always been very political. Just look at who they are playing [MLS's selections]. Do they deserve it? No. When Juan Pablo Angel has missed half of the season and is in the all-star game, he's definitely a great player, but [Luciano Emilio] has scored nine goals, I think, in the last nine games. Angel only has three. The All-Star Game is just for big names, not for what you did the whole season."
Said Zach Wells: "We got off to a slow start, but I think we still have some all-star caliber players. ... I don't know if we're angry, but some of the guys feel a little slighted by it."
Emilio (10 goals) said he was not disappointed because "it's an all-star game. It's not about the best players in the country; it's about the stars."
Tom Soehn: "I think it's ridiculous, but it's [Steve Nicol 's] choice."
