J. Freedom du Lac

J. Freedom du Lac has written about poker players and guitar players; hallucinogenic herbs and Peaches and Herb; Ben's Chili Bowl and salsero Marc Anthony. He joined The Post's Style section in 2005 as pop music critic and turned in his backstage pass four years later, after attending one too many Coldplay concerts. He was born on Haight Street to a pair of hippies; thus, the middle name. (No real explanation for the first initial, however.)
