Pick of the day: Molly the pony
Someone once said that photographer Carol Guzy is better at what she does than anyone else at The Washington Post, and I believe it. She stays with her subjects so long that she loses her outsider status, which bestows a level of intimate access that seems increasingly rare these days in daily journalism. And she doesn't miss a moment. Upon looking at these photographs of Molly the amputee pony, a Katrina survivor, I initially wished there were a print story to go along with it. But the more photos I looked at, the more I realized the images told a story by themselves.
