John Edwards
Elizabeth Edwards On "Moms Blog"
It's been a high-bandwith few weeks in the Windy City. The YearlyKos convention kicks into high gear this weekend, with the netroots establishment welcoming the majority of the Democratic presidential candidates to meet with--and be live-blogged by--an expected 1,500 people. The favorite of the Kos-crowd so far is John Edwards (N.C.), who led a recent DailyKos straw poll.
But when he meets with his supporters at the convention will they "hug tight as a way to acknowledge all the truth and beauty of this moment?"
That's how one woman wrote about meeting his wife, Elizabeth Edwards, in Chicago last weekend when Edwards gave a keynote address at the "BlogHer convention," a gathering geared toward the women's blogosphere.
Edwards spoke to a crowd of about 800, many of whom wrote rave reviews of the event, some going so far as to suggest a write-in candidacy for the candidate's wife. Highlights of the speech, as reported by the Silicon Valley Moms Blog, included her take on everything from Rupert Murdoch and media consolidation, Hillary Clinton and how if "women were in charge, there would be no more wars."

Elizabeth Edwards is a great asset for her husband's campaign and would make a fantastic first lady.

Elizabeth Edwards is completely inspirational. Another great quote was when she mentioned that "it's part of the jobs of campaigns--wherever they are on the spectrum--to hand young people a megaphone.".
It seems that the bloggers are also being handed the microphone. As a Silicon Valley Moms Blogger, I find that quite refreshing.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for John and Elizabeth Edwards. They have the ethics and intelligence it takes to put this country back on track. Ethical behavior is a quality lacking in the current administration. ELIZABETH EDWARDS FOR PRESIDENT!
