Iowa Poll Puts Huckabee and Obama Out Front

Mike Huckabee on the campaign trail in New Hampshire on Saturday. Can he convert his lead in Iowa to a lead in the Granite State? (AP).

A poll released by the Des Moines Register confirmed the shift in the presidential race over the last month, as Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is ahead of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.). And in an even more surprising result, former Gov. Mike Huckabee has vaulted ahead of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, long the leader among the Republicans.

The leads for Obama and Huckabee remain small, particularly given the four percent margin of error. The poll placed Obama at 28 percent, Clinton at 25 percent, and former North Carolina senator John Edwards at 23 percent, meaning that depending on how effectively they turn out voters, any of them could win. The GOP race appears a two-man contest with Huckabee at 29 percent, Romney at 24 percent and former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani at 13 percent.

The polls show what's happening in the campaign, as Clinton, who had long sought to rise above the fray, is attacking Obama more frequently, and Romney is slamming Huckabee for tax increases during his days as governor.

For Obama, the polls results have one potential worrisome trend. According to the Register, Obama dominates among younger caucus-goers, with support from 48 percent of those younger than 35, compared to 19 percent for Clinton and 17 percent for Edwards.

The under-35 bloc represents 14 percent of Democratic caucus-goers, according to the poll. Clinton is the top choice among caucus-goers 55 and older. Older people generally show up and are considered more reliable than younger and first-time caucus-goers, another group that Obama leads. At the same time, Obama also leads among those who say they will definitely attend the caucuses.

For Clinton, the poll showed her strength among women has slipped. Obama is supported by 31 percent of women polled who are likely to attend the caucuses, compared to 26 percent for Clinton.

For the Republicans, the poll suggests Huckabee is performing strongly based on two factors: Social conservatives favor him, and he's ranked as the "most principled" of the candidates.

Huckabee, a former Baptist minister, is leading Romney 38 percent to 22 percent among those who consider themselves "born-again Christians." In October, Romney edged Huckabee 23 percent to 18 percent among people in that group, which accounts for half of all likely caucus participants, according to the Register.

He's leading even though Iowa Republicans rank Romney as the "most presidential" and most "fiscally conservative" and the "best able to bring about real change."

The numbers suggest that Clinton and Giuliani, the two leading candidates in national polls, have some significant challenges here. Iowa voters are not choosing the two, even though voters say Giuliani and Clinton are the "most electable" in their respective fields. Giuliani is effectively tied with Romney, with 30 percent of voters calling the former mayor the most electable, compared to 28 percent for Romney and 13 percent for Huckabee.

Thirty-four percent of Democrats say Clinton is the most electable, compared to 26 percent for Obama. At the same time, 52 percent of Democrats said Clinton is the most "ego-driven" of their candidates and 36 percent of Republicans said the same of Giuliani.

The Republican Party (particularly in Iowa) obviously has a severe identity crisis as it contemplates such as Huckabee as the Republican candidate. The party needs to re-examine itself and see if it can settle on anything that remotely resembles a platform or a set of principles for which it stands. We are already looking a a range of positions among candidates (based on their history not what they pander to now) that shows Republicans have no idea what they stand for. Of course this has been their problem all through the Bush administration and it is not getting better. Huckabee is the republican populist and statist version of Hillary. What are the Iowa republicans drinking?

Huckabee
Taxes. Huckabee's first term in office. Huckabee signed into law a 3 cent increase in tax on gasoline and a 4 cent increase on diesel. Huckabee signed a tax on private nursing homes for $5.25 per day per non-Medicare patient. In Huckabee second term as governor. Huckabee signed into law increases in cigarette and tobacco taxes as well as a 3 percent income tax surcharge. Huckabee's record as a hole. he increased state spending 65.3 percent (1996-2004). Also under him taxes were raised twenty-one times for an increase of $883 million dollars. During his tenure, the state's general obligation debt shot up by almost $1 billion. Huckabee is "the biggest taxer and spender in Arkansas history".
Crime. Huckabee met with Dumond's wife prier to becoming governor and privately announced his intention that Dumond be set free, stating his unhappiness with the way Clinton had handled the case. Huckabee met privately with the parole board to talk about the Dumond case. Dumond was granted parole, just five months after he had been rejected. Wayne Dumond moved to Kansas City in 2000 and was convicted there of sexually assaulting and murdering a woman that lived near his home. Wayne Dumond died in prison in 2005.
Illegal immigration. In the 2005 State of the State address, he complained that a Hispanic student was not able to get financial aid because he was an illegal alien. Huckabee supported a 2005 bill by Arkansas State Representative Joyce Elliott to make illegal aliens eligible for scholarships and in-state college tuition. When a Mexican consulate opened in Little Rock in 2006, Huckabee strongly supported it. Gov. Mike Huckabee gave $10,000 to the consulate form the governor's $500,000 emergency fund. Huckabee did this even though he knew that his support of the Mexican consulate broke federal law.
Criminal behavior. Both Huckabee and his wife drew criticism for creating wedding registries in the amount of over $6000 at both the Target and Dillard's web sites, in conjunction with a housewarming party to celebrate a new house they had purchased in Little Rock has a $100 cap on gifts to political leaders.
Sounds to me like Huckabee is a liberal to me. Give up the jokes and lets talk about issues.

What is is (sic) about the Washington Post that brings out the people who are off their medications?)

When confronted with a new word, if I am not on my medication, I use my dictionary wherein crypto is defined as follows; noun - a person who secretly supports or adheres to a group, party, or belief
adjective - secret or hidden, not publicly admited: a crypto Nazi

who, if not clinton, has demonstrated the ability to deal with large, complex problems(like health care) ?

health care reform failed in 93. it is arguable that it was bill's fault-and he was a very successful president in spite of it(he'll be a better first dude than pat nixon, barbara bush or nancy reagan or any of the others competing for first lady). the republicans have controlled the white house and congress for most of the time since 93 and have only worsened the health care problem.hillary is still the most credible on health care.

regarding iraq, i was strongly opposed to the war. but i think she is smarter and a better choice than the others. i'd rather vote for the best candidate, win or loose

You are Right Lincoln ran on the Whig, pro Mexican war, platform when he ran for congress. Once he got there he opposed it---However in modern media sauturated times the politicians do not have the luxury of changing there positions especially on the moral questions ---it makes them look like they are pandering for votes. This is an unfortunate aspect to modern day politics..it does not allow for "in the trench" last minute conversions. These will be exploited by the other side. This IS the way it is.

Everything is comfortably within the margin of error...we still have a long way to go until January...Any candidate can slip at this juncture. http://enewsreference.wordpress.com/2007/12/01/a-fight-to-the-death-in-december/

Newsweeks Johnathan Alter had a GREAT article back on November 15th called The GOP's Best bet?-This article shows why Mike Huckabee provides the best contrast to Hillary Clinton. The democrats would WIPE out Romney in the General election because of all his past switches on abortion and gays n the military...they would make him look SOO inconsistent with attack ads. I think if Hillary gets the Dems nomination she will make Barack her running mate. The only Republican ticket that has a chance to beat them is a McCain Huckabee ticket. Both are men of honor---Romney & Juliani spell death for the Republicans if they get the nomination. Huckabee has a chance to win this outright-if he did the question would be who would he pick for a running mate. I don't know that McCain would want the second position. I think Thompson might be the guy. but maybe not. It is about to get intereting!

AN APOLOGY! FOR WHAT?

What is more irrational than to attack Senator Clinton for failing to apologize for voting on October 10, 2002 to authorize President Bush to attack Iraq if Saddam Hussein refuses to give up weapons of mass destruction as required by U.N. resolutions? (See fgerard December 2, 2007 04:37 PM )

The resolution required President Bush to declare to Congress either before or within 48 hours after beginning military action that diplomatic efforts to enforce the U.N. resolutions had failed. The resolution further required Bush to certify that action against Iraq would not hinder efforts to pursue the al Qaeda terrorist network that attacked the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, DC, on September 11, 2001. It also required the Bush administration to report to Congress on the progress of any war with Iraq every 60 days. After all, the evidence on which she relied was presented by Bush and vouchafed for by his agents, many of whom were in positions of trust at that time. Such attacks on Senator Clinton are pure unadulterated Rovian in their nature.

Have any of the Republican presidential aspirants apologized for the role their party played for commencing and continuing the war crimes of the Bush administration or of its many violations of our Constitution? That is the relevant question.

s.robertson: You are right, with Obama at 28% and Hillary at 25%, with a 4 point margin of error, they could be in a tie. However, the margin of error could go the other way, with Hillary at 21% and Obama at 32%.

Romney is in very good company:

"When Abraham Lincoln first ran for the Illinois Legislature, he wrote to his "Fellow Citizens", ("the independent voters of this county"), in a March 15, 1832 announcement in the Sangamo Journel of Springfield, that "...upon the subjects of which I have treated, I have spoken as I thought. ...as soon as I discover my opionions to be erroneous, I shall be ready to renounce them."
The Living Lincoln

It is good that Romney is pro-life

Posted by: manwaringjd | December 2, 2007 10:39 PM

I guess your story about Obama's ties to Muslims isn't working very well.

Posted by: yiannis | December 2, 2007 9:59 PM

Romney will still win Iowa for sure. I am confident of this because Iowa realizes that any vote for anyone other than Mitt Romney, is essentially a vote for Rudy, and a vote for Rudy is, in my eyes, not what this country needs. Iowa is smart, and they will choose the higher ground of Romney.

We can't risk voting for huckabee who does not have anywhere near the funds, fiscal responsibility, experience of turning things around, organization, or transformational leadership that Mitt posseses.

We need to rally around Mitt and carry him toward the nomination because he is the only one who in my eyes can win Rudy, destroy hillary, and bring America back on track.

Go Mitt!

Obama is 3 points away from Clinton in a poll with a 4-point margin of error. That means they are tied, not that Obama is ahead. The Post should know better and should help educate readers about how to interpret these poll numbers.

Take a GOOD look at Huckabee and the FairTax - why is the FairTax studies only evaluate incomes up to $200,000? Because the effective tax rate for billionaires under the FairTax is less than 1%. You can buy things of great value all day long without ever buying a new one. Think mansions, land, yachts, valuable coins, stamps, bullion, stocks and bonds - all of which increase his wealth and none of which is taxed. The things that are NEW that the super rich require will be provided them as perquisites by the businesses they control. Think company car, company house, company jet - all of which use our infrastructure and none of which is paid for by the entity using them. Why should Walmart pay for roads and bridges when they can get you to pay for free? This is another attempt by the liberal media to face ANYONE but Dr. Ron Paul. Much as we'd like politics to be positive, it is in fact ruled almost entirely by negatives. For instance, what's the biggest negative the Republican Party is facing in 2008? Iraq - a staggering 70% of people favor IMMEDIATE withdrawl from Iraq. Who is the only candidate that doesn't have that negative? Dr. Paul, who advocates using those trillions of dollars to secure our border (perhaps against Saudis who were 20 of the 24 terrorists in 9/11) and rebuild our crumbling infrastructure which is far more worrying than the loss of Social Security. Hm, full employment, withdrawl from Iraq and a huge boost to our economy from rebuilding our infrastructure - what Democrat wants to run against that. Hence the behavior of known liberal biased network CNN, who wants us to nominate either Guiliani or Romney - both of whose negatives are so high the copy practically writes itself!

Mike Huckabee was regarded by fellow Republican governors as a compulsive tax increaser and spender. He increased the Arkansas tax burden by 47 percent, boosting the levies on gasoline and cigarettes. The Arkansas Leader.com editorialized that Mike Huckabee raised more taxes in 10 years in office than Bill Clinton did in his 12 years.

The Arkansas Ethics Commission held proceedings 20 times on the former governor. During his tenure, Huckabee accepted 314 gifts valued overall at more than $150,000, according to documents filed with the Arkansas secretary of state's office. (He accepted 187 gifts in his first three years as governor but was not required to report their value.)

Two months after taking office, Huckabee stunned the state by saying he questioned rapist Wayne DuMond's guilt and that it was his intention to free the rapist, DuMond murdered a women in Illinois after Huckabee set him free

Huckabee battled conservatives within his own party who were pushing for stricter state-level immigration measures, such as:.
- proof of legal status when applying for state services that aren't federally mandated
- proof of citizenship when registering to vote
- Huckabee failed in his effort to make children of illegal immigrants eligible for state-funded scholarships and in-state tuition to Arkansas colleges.

Mike fails on so many levels as a true conservative. Maybe that's why the Washington Post likes him.

What makes Iowa, New Hampshire, and South
Carolina, three small, insignificant states
so important in our presidential selection process?

Posted by: eldoil | December 2, 2007 5:54 PM

The #1 cause of injury, disability, and DEATH in America is, Health Care. More people die now from contact with the American Medical Health Care system than from any other cause of death. More than from Cancer, Heart disease, or Stroke. More than any other country in the world. Many times more than any other people in the world. This fact is a catastrophic indictment of the entire US Health Care System.

Driven by greed. And a rush to profit. Thousands of Americans are killed, and injured daily in America. By compromised health care. Cutting corners. Over, and under treatments. And poisonings with all manor of toxic, poisonous pharmaceuticals. Especially the children. America only makes up 2-4% of the world population. But Americans buy, and consume 50% of all pharmaceuticals world wide.

But the tide has turned. I can see it. Hear it. And feel it. The message is getting out. And taking hold about the fact that we have a very serious, and major health care crisis going on in America. Hurting everyone. Especially our precious little children. Rich, and poor alike. And most all Americans seem to understand now that "HR 676 Not For Profit Single Payer Universal National Health Care For All (Medicare For All)" is the way to go. Like all the other developed countries have done. I have seen numbers as high as 90% of Americans want government managed health care Now. Medicare for all. Like other developed countries have. And like older Americans have now.

BRAVO!!! America. YOU GET IT! YOU REALLY GET IT! See sickocure.org.

It's NOW TIME to bring out the BIG GUNS!! The BIG GUNS!! are you. The American people. And anyone else that wants to help. From now until HR 676 is passed into law. I want every person to reach out and touch their fellow Americans every day if you can. I want you to take a phone book. And call at least one of your fellow Americans every day. And ask them to pickup the sword of HR 676 Single Payer Not For Profit Universal Health Care For All (Medicare For All).

Call more than one each day if you can. And ask them to do the same as you are doing if they can. And also to put maximum pressure on their politicians to get HR 676 done. And to make sure their politicians support HR 676. Accept no substitute. HR 676 is a no-brainer. It's the best way to go on health care. It's the only moral, and ethical way to go. That is why every other developed country has done it. Most did it years ago.

I know that many of you have been doing a fabulous job of spreading the word by talking it up with family, friends, and co-workers. And putting pressure on the politicians to get HR 676 done ASAP. The phone calls to your fellow Americans will increase the pressure. And grow the movement at an astonishing, and exponential rate. And I know many of you have been wanting to do something more to help. The phone calls to your fellow Americans is something you can do every day to help.

Trust me. It will be something to see. But you have to keep the focus, and pressure on getting HR 676 passed pronto. They will try to distract you. With all manor of other crises, and catastrophes. And other plans. Don't be distracted. HR 676 Single Payer Not For Profit Universal Health Care is the #1 concern of the American people. Thousands of Americans are dieing daily now. And you or your loved ones could be next.

There is no good reason HR 676 cannot be passed into law well before the coming elections. Do not tolerate delays. If it is not passed before the coming elections. All America will know which politicians are on the side of the American people. And which are not when they vote. Well before the elections.

Everyone can do this. Most of you are well informed about HR 676. This truly is one of those no-brainers. Be considerate of your fellow Americans when you call. But be comfortable about calling. These are your fellow Americans. Some will be receptive. And some will not be. Some maybe rude, and mean. Just thank them, and move on to the next. Most will be with you. And if you get a call from one of your fellow Americans about HR 676. Let them know you are already on board. And thank them for calling. Build them up. And keep them strong. They are fighting for all of us.

I will try to make a second post with just a few of the reasons everyone with 2 working brain cells agrees HR 676 is the best way to go. But you can also look them up for your-self. And read some of the positive informed post on many of the message boards too.

Lastly, I am sick and tired of hearing how the candidates, and politicians health care plans are going to protect, and preserve the private for profit health insurance companies that have been killing, and ripping off the American people. And now the politicians want to mandate (require) that every American has to support the private for profit insurance company's that have been killing, and ripping you off. Or you will be fined, and PENALIZED. Thats right. PENALIZED. Ridiculous! The politicians really think you are all detached idiots. CASH COWS! To lead to the slaughter. Don't put up with that.

So get on it America. Get those phones going. Chat it up! Save some lives. You want all of America talking about HR 676 becoming law, Now! Before more die needlessly. Make it happen. And to my fellow cyber warriors. You have been doing great! I see it! Keep it up. 1 of 2 post...

Below are a few reasons why "HR 676 Single Payer Not For Profit Universal Health Care For All (Medicare For All) is a no-brainer. And some reasons why private for profit health insurance is a stupid idea, and injuring, and killing you and your loved ones.

Medicare cost 2-3% to administer. Private insurance cost 30% to administer.

Under HR 676 everyone would be covered from birth to death. No co-pays. No-deductible. No out of pocket cost. Plus Dental. And Vision. For less cost than we pay now under private health insurance.

With private insurance. You have 47 million Americans with no insurance.

And 89 million Americans that had no insurance part of the time from 2006-2007.

And over a 100 million that are under insured.

18-30 thousand Americans that die each year from lack of health care.

Health Care bills as the #1 cause of personal bankruptcy. And loss of homes.

Under HR 676 health care is moral, and ethical.

Private for profit insurance is immoral. And unethical.

Profit is the primary motive of the private insurance companies.

They make profit by charging needy, vulnerable, sick Americans as much as they can charge them.

Then they make more profit by denying them care when they most need it. And are most vulnerable and unable to fight back. When they are sick. Or trying to recover from major illness.

Yep! I know you are getting angry. I'm sorry. But I have to continue.

Under HR 676: we will save 300 billion dollars in administrative cost each year.

With private insurance: we spent more per capita on health care than any other country in the world. Over twice as much as most other developed country's. Yet we have 47 million with no health care.

We rank at the bottom in quality of health care #37.

Americans have a shorter life expectancy than people from all other developed countries. We rank # 42 in life expectancy. Down from #1.

For the first time in American history. The life expectancy of American children is less than that of their parents. American children are dieing at a record rate. And are in terrible health generally.

People from other country's enjoy a much higher level of general health than the best privately insured Americans.

Americans are also shrinking. We used to be the tallest people in the world. Now we are down to # 10.

People from other country's never have to worry about going bankrupt, or loosing their homes over medical bills if they get sick.

Maybe you should go take a break for a while before I go on. I know this must be upsetting. But this is just a small part of the sad truth about private health insurance that HR 676 can fix.

Under HR 676: Health care will be based on need. Not on profit. And high standards, and quality will be enforced, and patients protected by the Government through a dedicated civil service. With the power, and resources to rain in abuses of patient care. Like they do with Medicare now.

With private insurance: Medical care is base on ability to pay. And profit. Tens of thousands of patient are killed, and millions are injure, crippled, and mutilated each year under private for profit health care, and insurance.

By insurance companies denying needed care to increase their profits.

By hospitals cutting corners. And using the cheapest least experienced personnel, equipment, and standards they can get away with.

By doctors that over treat, and under treat. Who injure, mutilate, and kill patients with unnecessary test, procedures, surgery, and invasive diagnostic test for profit. Who poison, kill, and injure millions of Americans with all manor of unnecessary pharmaceuticals for profit. Men, Women, Children, and babies.

Americans makeup 2-4 % of the world population. But Americans buy, and consume 50% of all pharmaceuticals world wide. This is a monstrous evil. And immorality.

And lastly, by politicians that take blood money from all these despicable groups and turn blind eye's to this slaughter of the American people. And the slaughter of their own loved ones. And them-self.

Well I could go on. And on. But I think this is enough to get you started making your daily phone calls to your fellow Americans to support HR 676. And to help them understand how important it is that each of them join the fight. And bring the MAXIMUM pressure to bear on all individuals, parties, and especially your politicians, and Representatives. To get HR 676 passed into law immediately.

This is an emergency. America is in a crisis. More Americans have died from this health care crisis than have died in all the wars in US history. Do your best. Millions of Americans lives are counting on each of you. Including your own life. Remember, you are Americans. You know how to fight for your country when you have too. The whole world is in your blood. I'm with you.

All the best... 2 of 2

The only reason Huck's ahead is because the MSM refuses to do their job and look into his highly questionable past policies, like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5Dp7FaKIJo

See also this for a possible fib he told during the last debate:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIbDAVQMKGM

Since the MSM won't do their job, please go to Huck's appearances, ask him exactly what version of the bill he was refering to, and then upload his response to Youtube.

We need to do the reporting the MSM refuses to do.

Yes it's clear the Right wants Obama. When Fox News speaks good of him be weary.
Actually i wish he would be the new President, but it won't happen, at least this time around. After another term in Congress under his belt he'll look better and be more ready, trust me...as long as he doesn't run as Clinton's vice pres canidate. If Hillary get's congressman Webb of Virgina to be her running mate, that'll be a bigger net for the swing voters. But if her terns it down, it's because Webb himself is thinking of 2012. See what happened to Edwards? Whenever the newest poster boy of the Dems is shot down in a general election, the next time around he's finished, with or with $400 hair cuts.

"Gangs that torture with poison and radiation" .....? Oh, you mean the ones that talk to me through the TV set, right? I've got to stop watching Hannity and Colmes.

You made a lot of good points, Forrest. I personally prefer Edwards, who seems to have matured alot since '04. You left out another disadvantage of Hillary's: the fact that Republicans want her to be the Democratic nominee so dang bad! An Edwards-Obama ticket...now that sounds like a winner to me.Chris.

The Huck can expect quite a battle once Romney unleashes his "Wives for Romney" people all over the state. All those women, many quite young, with their children swarming through the neighborhoods is a weapon to be reckoned with. As for Obama, expect Hillary to play up his initials, faux Mohammedanism and blood relationship to Dick Cheney. To counter Oprah's appeal, don't be surprised to see Ol' Bill let it all hang out to wow the ladies. You ain't seen nuthin' yet, people!

WHATD ABOUT OUR LIBERTIES AND RIGHTS

If the poll is reliable and the reporting of its results is honest, it shows little more than that the Hawkeyes, notwithstanding their state motto, "Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain." are little concerned about electing those who will defend our Constitution. The citizens of Iowa should be reminded that their liberties and their rights are those given by the Constution.

Obama is a crypto-neocon and Huckabee a religious fanatic who would attempt to take the country back to the Middle Ages. Neither seem concerned about the does and don'ts embodied in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the rule of law. Both are medicine men selling their own brand of cure-alls which are the stock and trade of their respective idealogies

Clearly the messages are "Don't Shuck (or Chuck) the Huck" (and not that other word) and, "B. O.'s Got It!" Perhaps Bill and Hill ought to make a deal to sell them the "missing" White House furniture cheap.

Here is one old Demo, 82 yrs, who jumped behind Obama eary on because I recognized a principled, bright, ariculate and attractive candidate. Clearly, he is the candidate of change that many of we Demos have been looking for.

Hillary projected an image of inevtitability that is surely being eroded as more and more prospective voters see her for what she is, a connving DC insider who uses double talk and triangulation to evade answers to difficult questions of the day. Witness her several positions on the issuing of drivers licensis to illegal immigrants.

Moreover, she has inflated her role in foreign relations, based solely on her role as first lady. In that capacity, she was no more than"window-dressing" on her eighty visits to foreign countries.

She has never apologized for her vote to give Bush the power to invade Iraq; and, I submit that she shares as much blame as Bush for blood and money lost in that misguided, dangerous venture.

When presented with a leadership role to direct the effort to secure enactment of national health legislation in Clinton 1, she was totally ineffective at a time that I submit the congress was receptive to approving such legislation. So much for her so-called leadership ability on national issues.

Finally, I resent her behavior that suggests her limited role as first lady somehow gives her an entitlement to serve as the Demo candidate for Prez in 08. I say baloney to that arrogant attitude, and I believe the good Demos in Iowa see through the Hillary facade. Forrest Gerard

IOWA IS TRUE SIGN OF FUTURE COME OUT OF THESE ELLECTIONS. I THINK WHOEVER WINS, OBAMA OR HUCKABEE, THIS COUNTRY WILL BE IN GOOD HANDS. IOWA IS PRETTY MIXED UP WITH REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS AND THAT IS WHY YOU ALL SHOULD CONSIDER THIS RESULT SERIOUS AND AMERICAN VOICE FOR CHANGE, NOT CONTINUOS YAPPING AND YAPPING, JUST TO GET IN WHITE HOUSE. I AM NOT SYRPRISED FOR OBAMA OR HUCKABEE.

It looks like Hillary Clinton's disingenuous doubletalk and coziness with lobbyists are finally starting to catch up with her.

Edward is right. Polls mean noting. It is just the pulse at that moment only. It is a momentary satisfaction or disappointment that is it.
Huckabee is raising! Good for republicans. However polls are meaning less when the difference is within the margin of error. Media is playing the big game here manipulating voters to vote for Obama so that Republican can beat Obama easily in the general election. Media makes up and reports that in one on one match Obama leads all Republican front runners and Hillary lagging. This is the most intelligently hashed Republican Plan. Novak is a big player in this. As Media is biased always towards the republicans, it wants to implant in the voters mind that Hillary is never ever electable and Obama is their choice. Republican media wants Obama to be the nominee. One should not be surprised to find out that it is the Republican Machine behind Obama's surge in polls. Once that happen it is all out easy war to smash Obama by bringing in middle name 'Hussein' as the biggest issue.

Voters who really care for this great country should not be bought into these poll results as they are meant to manipulate them. A true democracy is where voters are not manipulated and are provided with unbiased facts about the Candidates with regard to their true potential to lead our powerful country and grant him/her the most powerful and responsible job on this face of the planet.

I will decide whom I am going to vote on November 2008

the attack machines are working on the next swift boat ad,disconnected from reality.

the polar glaciers are melting down as we speak. we're stuck in iraq for 40 years.
who, if not clinton, has demonstrated the ability to deal with large, complex problems(like health care) ?

Yuck! Oh God as usual Iowa seems Hellbent on picking another pair of losers again, so
let's not forget that Iowa went for that
windsurfer village idiot loser Democrat
phony John Kerry and this time this phony
motor mouth Democrat Barack Hussein Obams
will never win the Nomination and even if
Obama did so any Republican will make hash
out of Barack Hussien Obama on Election Day
2008 as well. Why do both the Iowa voters
always pick the biggest losers in both the
Democratic and Republican Parties anyhow?
As this Huckabee is another real GOP loser
as well and the Republican Party had better
get over letting their radical religious
hypocrit Evangelial Christians Control It
or just plan of becoming extinct.

Giuliani only seems electable in a vacuum. In the real world, no Dem will vote for him; Independents will be cancelled by Republicans who stay home, one would hope, out of disgust for the historical facts.

Hey Hisroc,

Too bad the only way you can distract people from the truth is with insults.

avraamjack,
We know where you are. The tin foil in your hat doesn't work.

It is possible that Senator Clinton is the best candidate. However, even though many may like the policies that Senator Clinton proposes, they should also consider her record, just as Senator Clinton insists.
.
The last Clinton Administration, when faced with the fact that protection rackets where torturing people with poison and radiation, chose to avoid its responsibilities to incarcerate the criminals and to protect the citizenry.
.
Instead, they made a deal with the criminal gang stalker protection rackets to leave them alone and to consequently abandon the citizenry.
.
Do we want a President who sells out the citizenry for votes?
.
Do we want a President who sends a "crime does pay" message to society?
.
Would you vote for a President who signed nonaggression deals with the KKK or the Nazi party? Gangs that torture with poison and radiation are much like the KKK and Nazi Party.
.
We do not need a sellout President. We need a principled leader President.
.
If you are one of the few who do not know what the above refers to, do a web search for "gang stalking" to see the tip of the dirtberg. Please do it before you decide to reply to my post. Here let me make it easy for you: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22gang+stalking%22.
