The Hidden Campaign

Romney's Attack Dog

Mailer from Mitt Romney for President sent to Iowan little dog owner. Obtained by the Washington Post.

By Matthew Mosk
Why make the case for your campaign if an indignant Yorkie can do the job for you? Mitt Romney apparently felt the dog pictured here made the best case for warning Iowa caucus-goers about Mike Huckabee's tax on pet groomers. (And felt confidant enough to stand up to Chuck Norris.)

More alarming, according to the independent Iowan voter who shared this unusual piece of political mail with The Trail, is that the recipients of the mailer actually do have a little dog -- "a lhasa apso, I believe, which needs to be groomed," our tipster reports. "So there's no telling whether it's a coincidence or surreal micro-marketing."

Ha, ha -- very funny -- what is funnier, of course, is that Huckabee also CUT nearly 100 other taxes and every tax listed above was a) court-ordered, or b) approved by a majority of the voters. As Huckabee explained on "Meet the Press", it didn't work out so great for the last Governor of Arkansas who defied a federal court ; )
