Atlanta Mayor Needles Bill Clinton
By Garance Franke-Ruta
Proving that Barack Obama's supporters have gotten the message that Bill Clinton is, as Barack Obama announced on "Good Morning America" today, now fair game, The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Atlanta mayor and Obama backer Shirley Franklin "took what appeared to be a political shot" at the former president today, as he stood "not 20 feet in front of her":
Speaking at the 40th annual MLK commemorative service at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Franklin said the country is on the "cusp of turning the impossible into reality. Yes this is reality, not fantasy or fairy tales."Clinton, in supporting his wife Hillary's bid for the Democratic nomination, recently took heat for using the term "fairy tale" to describe Obama's depiction of his stance on the war....
Today, after Franklin's remarks, the crowd of more than 2,000 rose to its feet - except for Bill Clinton, who sat in his front pew seat and clapped politely.
The state of Georgia has long been a focus for the Obama campaign, which hopes to do well there during the Feb. 5 Super Tuesday voting. As in South Carolina, African American voters -- now one of Obama's strongest constituencies -- are expected to make up more than 40 percent of the Georgia Democratic primary electorate.

Personally, as an Atlantan who has always been a huge admirer of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin, I'm appalled that she would stoop to this insult in such an artless and classless way. My opinion of Franklin has suffered today.
On Dr. King's birthday it should be a time for healing, not divisive and personal insults. Why fan the divisive flames yet more?
It is a very troubling time. Yet again we are descending into intranecine fights. I'm ashamed to be a Democratic.
It's almost enough to make me throw up my hands and say, "Mayor Bloomberg, please rescue us from this mess."

Unlike Congressman Clyburn, or even Bill Clinton, I don't have to bite my tongue at times in order NOT to offend idiots.
Barack Obama and his agents have engaged in the most despicable racial hucksterism in this campaign, and as a white man who originally had been pushing HARD among all of my friends, family, and associates for a Hillary Clinton/Barack Obama ticket, I feel sickened. To me, this man has revealed himself over the last two weeks to be a despicable, lying, racist scumbag. He may think he can whitewash it with lovely rhetoric, but I for one am far too intelligent to be fooled by it.
Therefore, as a very passionate citizen, I will NOT chill. I will VEHEMENTLY shout to the rooftops that I feel this man doesn't deserve to be elected dog-catcher of Podunk, Illinois, let alone President of the United States of America. We need someone in that office who can UNITE this nation, not just some slick, lying, racist piece of shiite who with flowery rhetoric can FOOL people into believing that's what he stands for.

Hotnuke2007:
Congressman Clyburn had a message for Bill Clinton today : "Chill."
I think that his advice might also serve you well, too.

Just know this, zukermand and RyanMcC. Obama is going to lose. He's headed for political oblivion. And all the lying, lowlife racist scum who support him are going to then go back to their worthless lives. thank God that'll be soon, as in the next two weeks. Enjoy those two weeks sowing your lies, your vile, racist crap, and your sickening and despicable smears of Bill and Hillary Clinton. You and I both know that once Obama drops out you'll go back to your failed lives, watching Jerry Springer, fukking your uncle, or whatever else you lowlife trash do.

I have a question:
Last night, and this morning, I saw the article on abc.com that stated the Obama Campaign was filing a complaint with the Democratic Committee because of caucus doors being closed on Saturday, here in Nevada, at 11:30. The proof provided - included in the article as a link to the Clinton Campaign's handbook for caucus team captains/chair, as well as the Democratic Party handbook used by the Obama Campaign, was pretty self-evident that the claim was correct.
And, judging from the comments section to this article, which was on either Washington Post or msnbc.com (can't remember which cause I read them all), while there were comments from LOADS of caucus workers who backed both Edwards and Obama that noted individual stories to back up the claims, there was not ONE comment listed by any of the Clinton campaign workers, to refute ANY of the allegations. As a matter of fact, one individual even commented that the Democratic Party is behind Hillary Clinton. And there were several stories told by individuals, who actually worked AT the Nevada Caucus, showing intimidation by the Clinton Campaign - and NOT the Obama or Edwards Campaigns.
This article, which originally showed up on the site listed below, was pulled off the other site it was on - it was either Washington Post or msnbc.com. This other site was the one that had comments on it from those of us who were there in Nevada.
Does anyone know why?
Here's the story link:

Hotnuke needs to take a nap (and perhaps his medicine, too).

One hopes Obama supporters have the sense to ignore "hotnuke2007". Engaging someone like this only encourages her.

Just another Obama supporter trying to continue the FALSE storyline that Clinton had implied Obama's CAMPAIGN (and by inference the candidacy of any Black Man for President) was a "Fairy Tale".
These racist scum have NO problem using their racial hucksterism blatantly, even in the face of Obama's phony a$$ claim of a truce on this BS. Obama isn't fit to be dog-catcher of Podunk, Illinois, let alone President. He's scum. All you have to do to know this is read the hundreds of blogs by his supporters, who are lying, lowlife racist scum themselves.

Thank you, Mayor Jackson. You are a courageous and honorable woman, and may your constituents follow your example and do thier part to make the "impossible" a reality!

Looks like Hillary has a bit of work to do, at least with the number of people visiting her web site in comparison to Barack:

You, go Shirley !!! Now I hope Senator Claire McCaskill, Governor Janet Napoliteano and former Senator Jean Carnahan all come out and do the same for Obama.
I love the fact that the crowd gave Shirley a standing ovation. Perhaps this is a turning point for the better for the Obama campaign.
Incidentally, Hillary is spending very little time in South Carolina this week. Is she conceding this race ?
