DE: McCain, Obama Win

Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain won solid victories on a day of unusually heavy voter turnout in the First State.
Hillary Clinton had not campaigned here, though daughter Chelsea attracted a modest crowd of 300 on Monday. By contrast, Obama drew 20,000 cheering supporters at a rally on Sunday.
McCain had repeatedly stumped here, with help from former Pennsylvania governor and former Homeland Security secretary Tom Ridge and former FBI director Louis J. Freeh.
With more than 90 percent of the votes tallied at 9:30 p.m., McCain had 45 percent of the vote. Romney had 32 percent and Huckabee 15 percent.
Barack Obama had 52 percent in the same early returns, against Clinton's 43 percent. Early exit polls showed that Obama had especially strong support from African American voters.
Favorite son Sen. Joe Biden was not in the race but was on the ballot, which was printed before he dropped out, and had about 3 percent of the Democratic votes.
