TN: Fox News Gives It to Clinton

Updated and corrected 9:07 p.m.
By Krissah Williams
Fox News called Tennessee for Sen. Hillary Clinton as polls closed in the state. A tornado watch in western Tennessee had threatened turnout, particularly in predominantly black Shelby County where Sen. Barack Obama hoped to do well. Clinton had held a double digit lead in statewide polls and was expected to win here.

Despite the inclement weather, election officials said that in many counties more voters cast ballots than in 2000 and 2004. State Elections Coordinator Brook Thompson said nearly one million people may have voted.
