For Huckabee, a Weekend Detour Through the Cayman Islands

PEWAUKEE, Wis. -- While he is continuing his campaign despite almost impossible odds, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee will also take a day off the trail this weekend to give a paid speech in the Cayman Islands.
His aides did not say how much he would be paid for his speech at the Young Caymanian Leadership Awards at the Ritz-Carlton there on Saturday. They said it was not a sign Huckabee was ramping down his campaign, as he will stump in Wisconsin on Thursday and Friday and return for campaign events here on Sunday and Monday ahead of Tuesday's primary, and then start campaigning in Texas, which votes on March 4.
"I'm not independently wealthy. I wish I was. I have to make a living," Huckabee said in a news conference here. "I do that through my writing and speaking."
Since Huckabee left the governor's office in January 2007, speeches have been his main source of income. Campaign manager Chip Saltsman said the Caymans trip would be Huckabee's first paid speech in months.
Huckabee complained that he was effectively "subsidizing" his opponents, because the four other remaining candidates, three senators and a congressman, are all on the federal payroll.
"I'm the only person who doesn't get paid by the taxpayers to campaign," he said.

What difference does it make why Huckabee is visiting the Cayman Islands?
The truth is that the so-called "democratic" system in this country is nothing of the sort.
We have two Democratic candidates who have been buying votes from superdelegates.
We have a Dr. Stranglove presumptive Republican nominee who only has the nomination because he made a deal to shut up and support Bush 4 years ago.
And we have an opportunist "minister" milking the publicity he'sm receiving for all it's worth.
God Bless America, but, for God's sake, don't ever, ever trust an American.

There have been about six primaries and caucuses since the February 5 Super Tuesday contests. Mike Huckabee has still not passed Mitt Romney for second place in the delegate count even though Romney quit running shortly after Super Tuesday. Give it up, Huck. Your fifteen minutes of fame are up.

Gov. Huckabee has to earn a living to pay his bills, just like the rest of us. Only Senators and U.S. Reps. can draw money while not reporting for work. People should appreciate an honest man who works for his pay.
America, we have the opportunity to elect an honest man who has proven his leadership as Governor of Arkansas. He is not "all-talk-and-and-no-record-of accomplishment" as the two Democrats are. And, with all respect, we know what the Republican front-runner's record is: compromise to the liberal Democrat position. Just remember, please, when the Republicans rejected Reagan, we got Carter. When Bush I was abandoned for Perot, we got Clinton and all his sex-capades and scandals and investigations, which totally consumed our government and media--while the terrorists just kept on planning, plotting, and training for 9-11 right in front of us, but we were too busy with "Clinton problems" to protect our county. Oh, please, let's not go down that road again when we have the choice of electing a man with a proven record of good accomplishments. Give Hope a second chance, vote Mike Huckabee for President!

And Huck is hawking his new book that's hitting the airwaves. Let's not forget about the free publicity he gains on his "book tour." It's not about the American people; it's all about Huck.
I'm shocked! Someone is spitting out biased verbage against Huckabee! Of course Huck would never spit out religious bias about anyone else. Too much integrity. Wink, wink.

As for Mike "The Huckster" Huckabee, his constituency is mostly evangelicals. But we are electing a President - not a Pastor.

How can you possibly post this? much less, believe it. Now I realize that it's just your un-educated opinion but your getting close to slanderous nonsense.
Mike Huckabee is continuing in this election because he wants to give the American people their right to vote, in every state, not just the states holding early primaries. Every person's vote counts. Gov Huckabee is head of a hugh movement whose core belief is that this US of A was founded on the Constitution. We've drifted away from that fact in the last few generations. I suggest that if you wish to speak on any of the candidates that you first go to their web-sites and research what they believe in, and what their running platform is instead of spitting out bias verbiage.
Vote for whomever you like, but please do it with integrity by knowing the issues.

There is no way for Huckabee to win. The remaining delegates are not enough to get a majority. McCain needs less than 40% of what is left to take the nomination, as well. It would be a long shot to hope for a brokered Convention and the last one of those resulted in electing a Democrat.

I am glad that Mike Huckabee is staying in the race. He is running a good campaign. He is well spoken, sharp, and stands up for what he believes in. And, he seems to really care about people. If you haven't taken a close look at his policy positions or listened to him speak, I encourage you to find out more about him. Go, Mike!!

The fact that Gov. Huckabee is fulfilling a prior employment commitment is not an issue with me. The issue I have is paying the salaries of Senator Obama, Senator Clinton, and Senator McCain while they run all over the country neglecting their current employment commitments.

How? By gaining a large amount of delagates and having a virtual tie with Mccain.
Actually if Huckabee gets the rest of the delagates, he can get more in count than Mccain. So it is not over.
We need to go out in swarms and vote for Huckabee. We can have the nominee that we choose.
