Hillary Rodham Clinton
Clinton Skips Flight; Campaign Won't Say Why
By Anne E. Kornblut
DALLAS -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has disappeared from the campaign trail, and her campaign plane, with no explanation.
Clinton did not show up for this afternoon's flight from Dallas to Columbus, Ohio, and campaign spokesman Doug Hattaway would not elaborate on the reason or her whereabouts.
"It's nothing bad," Hattaway said on board the plane. He added that the press corps would see Clinton on Sunday.
She disappeared in similar fashion Feb. 7, when, it was later revealed, she had flown to North Carolina to meet with former rival John Edwards.

The 3AM Ad is misleading!
I have known from childhood that the presidents Top Advisor are called first. After consulting with them the
President will then make a decision.
If you were president isn't that what you would do?

"The 3AM Ad is misleading!" Hmmmm .. Thats based on someone's opinion.....
If that was the fact, why not Barack Hussein Obama said so, or why not the media said so....
We need to vote for democrat in November... regardless who is the democratic nominee. I am sure you all might agreed with me...

The 3AM Ad is misleading!
Posted by: Iwantmyvoicetobeheard | March 2, 2008 10:54 AM
Well some people said that if Hillary Rodham Clinton win Demoratic nominee, they will not vote for Hillary in November. And some people said that if Barack Hussein Obama win Democratic nominee, they will not vote for Barack.
So who are you going to vote for?
I thought we want the Democrat party to be in WH. I thought we have enought with Republican in WH.
We should all Democrats combine our power together to win in November election.

Fear TACTIC, Woo-Scary
This is Playing on Americans Fears.
This is how a 3am phone call would work as we know it. Thanks to the writer.
Hillary's ad plays to a false argument. The idea that the President makes "split-second decisions" in the middle of the night. The President can't order pizza without his/her advisors. The idea that the PRESIDENT MAKES DECISIONS IN ISOLATION IS LAUGHABLE. At 3 AM, the top advisors to the President get the call too--and usually before the President does. Then they get together and give the President what the military calls "just in time training" (a quick precis of the facts, our options, and the recommendations of the top advisors). Then the President picks one of those choices.
This ad is about creating doubt that Sen. Obama could credibly lead without acknowledging that she has marginally more experience than he does and doesn't always get it right.
The is misleading!

Barack Hussein Obama in RI speeches said "Say what you mean and mean what you said" I wonder if Barack remember in one of the debate when asked question and Barack answer "That was not what I meant"

If experience, wisdom and judgment may be relied upon to judge a presidential candidate's abilities to solve problems, then let's look at the records of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
In the Illinois legislature, Barack Obama secured bipartisan support for health-care reform and passage of low-income tax credits and child care subsidies.
In 2002, Barack Obama cautioned that without clear rationale an invasion of Iraq would encourage the worst impluses of the Arab world and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Qaeda.
In the U.S. Senate, Barack Obama promoted a restoration of balance between work and wealth, criticized special interests for distorting U.S. tax codes and fought in a bipartisan effort to establish independent oversight of Senate ethics.
When did Hillary Clinton demonstrate her economic wisdom and foresight while Alan Greenspan was warning of irrational exuberance as the subprime housing loans were created and pandered during her husband's administration and her husband supported China's entry into the World Trade Organization without any conditions such as protecting the environment or labor and property rights to levels that are comparable to western standards?
Today China is not only a leading contributor to environmental pollution and global warming (thank you very much Mr. Nobel Laureate, Al Gore), it's also pushing up oil and other commodity prices, taking our jobs and stealing our intellectual property.
When did Hillary Clinton deliver health-care reform? In Hillary Clinton's eight (8) years in the Senate, the Congressional Record (www.thomas.gov) shows she "sponsored" only two (2) pieces of legislation that were presented to the president for signature. The first piece of legislation (S. 1241) was to establish a historic site in New York state, the second (S. 3613) was to name a U.S. Postal Service building.
At 3:00 AM who is Hillary Clinton gonna call in a national crisis? GHOSTBUSTERS?
Without any attachment to a position and no leadership qualities or principles to guide her in a time of national crisis, Hillary Clinton like her husband, would need to first conduct a poll to determine what is in her political interest before committing to any national decision.
It's refreshingly nice to see the better angels of America's character prevailing as voters reject the racial, religious and ethnic slurs being spewed by the divisive Clinton, Limbaugh and Hannity supporters.
As a Republican-leaning independent, I will vote for Barack Obama if he is the Democratic nominee running against John McCain but I will not vote for Hillary Clinton.

What about Peter Paul, Peter Paul, Peter Paul! Hilliary's baggage.
The judge is setting a trial date right now for FRAUD case which involves the Clinton's, especially Hillary and now the court has dragged Chelsea into it.
So what about What about Peter Paul,Peter Paul,Peter Paul! And Vince Foster!! And the Land Deal and the untruths (a euphemism) she told during that investigation and they almost nail her. Talk about baggage.
Maybe this is NOT the image a lot of mothers want for their girls.
Google: "House of Cards"
My point is don't say Obama has baggage and Hilliary doesn't.
Nonetheless, if she is the nominee I suppose I will support her.

Those sleasy Clintons. How many times have I read this from the Obamanites and the Repubs. Read todays NYT. Rezko. How can he clear this up. Even if he did nothing wrong, he sure is dumb. This guy has been investigated for 20 years and Obama didn't know. That is worse than a crime. Man. We want him to be president. Naivity, first class. Wake up sheep.

Richardson is appearing on MTP with Timmy Russert and perhaps will be endorsing.
She may have made a side-trip to NM to see Bill to try to talk him out of the Obama endoresment after her appearance on SNL.
Alternately, she may have had the same mission to North Carolina to see John Edwards.
Her SuperDelegate leak factor has been rather high lately and the endorsments, Dodd, Dorgan, and Rockefeller are going for Obama.
My guess is that after the SNL trip she went on a STB (Stop the Bleeding) trip.

1. Anyone who is familiar with many blog sites knows for a fact that most of the online supporters of Senator Obama are spewing language of hatred and worse of which their mothers' would not be proud.
2. Just because the self-important Wolf Blitzer says that Senator Clintons' supporters are poor, old, uneducated women does not make it so. If you really want to know what an educated, articulate kind hearted crowd that I have surrounded myself with, go to hillaryclinton.com and learn how sophisticated people express themselves.

In her quest to get more of the Texas male vote, she ran away in tears when they told her that they would never vote for her, the reason being that she reminded them too much of their ex-wives.

"Any man or woman who puts up with his or her spouse's years of serial philandering doesn't have the pride or self-respect needed to be president of the United States.
Hillary swallowed what was left of her pride decades ago so she could hang on to Bill's coattails and ride them to fame. If she had an ounce of dignity she would have left him many, many years ago."
i agree fundamentally, but i wouldn't have been as harsh... i think more that she blew a grand opportunity to stand up for women everywhere. she should have drug his ass out onto the white house lawn for an ass kicking. but she wanted her political career more. i would be upset if i were a woman and this opportunity to send a message to all cheating bastards was passed up to preserve her career. i mean, how many MORE people would have supported her if she kicked his ass and went on her own!?

I have been a Democrat for all of my adult life. I wish people in forums like this would take a deep breath and step back from the issue of Hillary and Barack.
all of this fighting only helps the pathetic Repugs out there.
With either one of these candidates we'll have the best opportunity for a great president in generations.
Let's revel in an embarqssment of riches rather than tear each other down.

With two highly qualified Democratic candidates with almost identical policy positions vying for the Democratic nomination, the main difference becomes style, not substance.
That a Clinton supporter or an Obama supporter could possibly threaten to help put another Republican into the White House if their favored Democratic candidate doesn't get the nod is simply beyond me.
I favor Obama, but I'll gladly vote for Clinton if she's the nominee. There is no way I'd ever vote for a Republican, particularly in light of the last seven years.
Get it together people! Sto feeding the beast! Save the venom for the general election against the common enemy; The Republicans.

Gender bias? Is that what it is that makes me and most of the men I know cringe when the words "Commnader and Chief" roll off Hillary's lips? I thought it was just mutual concern that the multiple personalities she displays at each debate make her unsuited to be President. Emotional stability might be a virtue for the President - male or female.
Posted by: freedom_47522 | March 1, 2008 9:30 PM
This just in: one of her false eyelashes fell off and, mistaking it for a tarantula, she did what she did at the showdown moments on Iraq and Iran: she folded like a cheap suit. Check the Dallas private care facilities.

Let's put it this way: more people will probably not vote for Obama because he is black than not vote for Clinton because she is a woman.
And here's the inversion: Clinton probably gets more boost from being female (from the sure female vote) than Obama does (from the sure black vote), because females vastly outnumber blacks in America.
Posted by: dojeagle | March 1, 2008 09:07 PM
If that's true, than his caucus wins would be cross over Republican and Indenpendent votes and it would mean he will not win a national election. That's not what the polls or the prognosticators are saying.
BTW Walter Shorenstein said that the media has given Obama the environment to win. This is not the case with Hillary.
The Washington Post is anti-Hillary.
Posted by: vammap | March 1, 2008 9:18 PM
As a 50-year-old woman, I'm embarrassed by these cries of gender bias. If anything, she's getting special treatment. As numerous people have noted, if Obama had lost the last 11 races and saw major leads all but disappear in a fortnight, they'd be screaming that his campaign is over.
If HRC is such a tremendous candidate, she should immediately cease negative campaigning and media attacks, and simply run on her policies and much-heralded 35+ years of experience. If she is so superior to Obama, she will be able to overcome her seriously mismanaged campaign. It's beyond time that she realize that Democrats will not bow down to anyone named Clinton. If she wants to be our nominee, she has to EARN it.

The answer to the CTV story is clear: the Consul General of Canada based in Chicago exaggerated a conversation he had with an Obama adviser. Obama has been clear that he intends to renegotiate NAFTA. This story has no legs.
Posted by: dojeagle | March 1, 2008 9:04 PM
With all the disrespectful things said about Ms. Clinton, it's obvious the country has made significant social changes since the 1960s--it's decided that being misogynist is acceptable and being racist is closeted.
We can thank the last 20 years of conservative Republican brainwashing for the nation's reprogramming.

I also saw mention of that NYC/SNL appearance on Twitter ...
Posted by: skbell1 | March 1, 2008 9:01 PM
See that two the secretaries of two labor organizations in Ohio issued a letter to Sen. Obama today wanting some answers on the CTV story.
Might be that some things are starting to open up showing that Sen. Obama is not that "new kind of politician" with such high ethical and moral standards that he and his followers are praising him to be.

I am curious as to what Obama supporters have to say about the threatening emails some superdelegates are getting to 'persuade' them to switch their support from Obama to Clinton.

The Saturday Night Live theory makes a lot of sense to me. Hillary, with the same "experience" and "good judgment" that's characterized the rest of her campaign, probably figures that appearing on SNL will give her the same kind of commanding lead that Huckaby's Colbert Report appearances have given him.

She went to New York to appear on Saturday Night Live.

Ignorant? It's an established fact that Obama leads comfortably over Hillary among the college-educated.
Aside from a few die-hard HRC supporters who post comments on sites like these, her "base" largely consists of people who don't pay attention to political news and instead rely on her name recognition.
Posted by: dojeagle | March 1, 2008 8:49 PM

And most important, I would appreciate if the HRC supporters stop treating Obama's supporters as ignorant and deluded.

I'm not sure if it's funny or sad that the Clinton camp thinks SNL has such cultural currency. It's 2008, not 1978 (or even 1998).
The fact that the SNL reference went over as well as "Change You Can Xerox" should have been a clue...
Posted by: playscape2 | March 1, 2008 8:34 PM
yes, the majority of negative comments are attacks on Clinton's gender (c'mon...would anyone make a botox joke against barack?). and this is supposed to be an "educated" crowd...

SNL appearance is free publicity and Hillary will take all of that she can get at this point. Maybe this appearance will give her image a boost or help her campaign the same way an endorsement from Richardson or Edwards would.
Posted by: claffiteau | March 1, 2008 8:26 PM
dboudreau, are you kidding me about baggage??? Obama's baggage is at most a small handbag compared to HRC's steamer trunk. If you're so concerned about ethics, please demand that your candidate release her tax returns tomorrow. Why is she waiting until she's won the nomination to do so? What does she have to hide? Perhaps their complicated financial/political interests?

I am so sick of the media bias towards Obama with the total silence from every talking head on TV and the printed press. I was just watching CNN who were supposed to be addressing this very question. The idiot on CNN in his infinite wisdom expressed his opinion which was she should stop whining. I switched over to FOX news (while I was sending Hillary another contribution) which is treating Hillary with more fairness than all of the other news channels.
I click on the Huffington post and there in huge bold print it states Hillary Banks On Fearmongering As Key To Tuesday Victories.
It then links me to The Swamp, where the article is titled, Clinton belittles Obama as 'a lot of talk, little action'. Is this bias or are Obama supporters willing to win at any cost? I have never voted for a Republican but if Obama wins this nomination using bias, like Blacks voting as a block, bias news reporting, and distortions and lies I will vote for McCain. It is really sad but this country who gave us Bush deserves the hell we are going to be going through this year. We are heading into the worse recession in my life time and our country is being split apart.

Today's bleat from the Clinton campaign--this time from Hillary mega-contributor Walter Shorenstein, founder of the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, who claims that HRC is losing because the media is biased against her--tells me two things.
First, that there is a cultural commonality of victimhood that unites Clintonites-they are never responsible for their failures, their mistakes, or their lies, ever ("not one time," as Bill would, and did, say).
Second, that the media is actually bending over (and not necessarily backwards), to accomodate this kind of bullroar in order to placate the fading bulls of the Democratic establishment.
Maybe real estate developer Shorenstein should remember the words of broastcast legend Edward R. Murrow:
"We cannot make good news out of bad practice."
You cannot make good news with a bad candidate either.

I for one agree with the Clinton campaign's message that the burden is now on Obama. He needs to win both Texas and Ohio by double-digit margins, and also be able to bend a teaspoon by telepathy, and recite the Odessa phone book backwards, from memory, or else it's obvious that Hillary is still "in it to win it."
Sidenote: Odessa, Russia. Not Texas.

When Hillary finally bows out and this becomes about Obama, I pray for the party's sake that his background has been thoroughly checked. The moment he messes up, the wolves will devour him. He is not, God; he is not infallible. He is a human being and he should be treated as such. Don't lead the public on that this man will change the world then drop a bombshell on the night of November 4th.
His honeymoon ends tomorrow. On Monday, the Rezko trial begins as well as all the dirty laundry on Illinois politics.
Make sure Hillary is defeated permamently so there will be no way to go to her for backup in case the Golden Child slips on the water he's walking on.

She had a valuable rally in Dallas at 4pm to weigh against her alternate destination. Given that she has reason to anticipate losing Texas by campaigning there, and has already threatened to litigate the law in contempt of the facts, she must believe she has a wondrous compensation to dazzle us with -- like an endorsement, from a figure assured of untraceable emoluments to come. Yet, having softened up the press with persistent, sometimes openly surrogated intimidation, dare we ask how Significant This commonplace News will Be?
