Sinbad Unloads on Hillary Clinton

By Mary Ann Akers
Finally, the Barack Obama campaign has found a big gun to help shoot down Hillary Rodham Clinton's self-proclaimed foreign policy experience. And he may be the wackiest gun of all: Sinbad, the actor, who has come out from under a rock to defend Obama in the war over foreign policy credentials.

Sinbad, along with singer Sheryl Crow, was on that 1996 trip to Bosnia that Clinton has described as a harrowing international experience that makes her tested and ready to answer a 3 a.m. phone call at the White House on day one, a claim for which she's taking much grief on the campaign trail.

Harrowing? Not that Sinbad recalls. He just remembers it being a USO tour to buck up the troops amid a much worse situation than he had imagined between the Bosnians and Serbs.

In an interview with the Sleuth Monday, he said the "scariest" part of the trip was wondering where he'd eat next. "I think the only 'red-phone' moment was: 'Do we eat here or at the next place.'"

Sinbad (what's HIS middle name?) is a "big gun"?! LOL -- did he also listen in to every conversation Hillary DIANE Clinton had? Maybe she had SECRET meetings he was not a part of? What's next -- and Obama endorsement from Sheryl "The Way to Solve War is Not Have Enemies" Crow herself?

Posted by: JakeD | March 11, 2008 01:40 PM

So, the Obama camp is running out of, or firing, decent endorsements? Not lookin' good.

Posted by: Susan9 | March 11, 2008 01:58 PM

Sounds like Sinbad has passed Hillary's "presidential threshold." What a joke.

Sinbad/Crow 2012

Posted by: Gleiblein | March 11, 2008 02:02 PM

Uh yeah, I can't say that Sinbad is exactly a big gun.

However the fact remains that the refugee deal that Hillary claims she negotiated with Macedonia happened the day before she arrived. So unless she made the deal via phone or email she is vastly overstating her role.

Same with her claims about brokering peace in Northern Ireland. The former Ireland Prime Minister called Hillary's claims "silly" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/03/08/wuspols108.xml

So yeah, what foreign policy experience?

Posted by: eine1 | March 11, 2008 02:07 PM

You can't hide the truth, it always comes out. How much foot can one mouth take? How many feet does Hillary have? How sad to run a campaign on lies and tricks. Give up Hillary and go check on Bill because he is spending too much time alone and we all know where that will lead too.

Posted by: draynick | March 11, 2008 02:13 PM

The point isn't that Sinbad is a "big gun". The point is how ridiculous Hillary's claims of her foreign policy experience are.

Here's a photo of that harrowing excursion.

Most people don't read the whole article:
He [Sinbad] said, "At the time, we didn't realize how crazy it was between the Bosnians and the Serbs. I didn't realize how much hate was going on."

I can't believe that I had never understood until the last couple of days that Clintonistas actually enjoy watching good people get savaged by their queen. When they come in close contact with something ingerently decent and good, they recoil like vampires exposed to sunlight.

Of course, the implication is that someone just came out and refuted Shillary's lies again. Kind of like what Nobel laureate David Trimble did this weekend exposing her farce of helping in Northern Ireland.

http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_News/2008/03/09/irish_blast_clintons_foreign_policy_claim/9676/

You Clintonistas are just panicking that your despicable candidates lies are being exposed one by one.

Wow, so many posters not getting the POINT (or are cynically trying to obfuscate it?)

That Sinbad and Sheryl Crow are not individuals one would place in situations of high danger and international sensitivity makes the point that Hilary Clinton is overstating the significance of the "foreign policy experience" she received on that *same* tour.

Please, guys, actually *read* the article to which you're posting before responding.

I wanna make one thing VERY clear, Hillary Clinton will NOT win the Presidency without the black vote. That is why she has been pandering to that group since her husband showed his true racist colors! And guess what....she has lost the group. Many blacks either won't vote or vote for McCAin in the general election.
There is a HUGE constituancy that HATES the Clintons. Most of the people that HATE the Clintons are white. So the white vote between Clinton and McCain will be split. A lot of Asians are republicans and the Hispanic vote is split between republicans and democrats (they voted overwhelmingly for Bush and in Florida the Cubans STRONGLY supported McCain). So the group that will put Clinton over the edge and help her win is the backbone of the Democratic Party...African Americans and she has already lost this group.
The beauty of Obama is that he can get all the votes going to Clinton PLUS the black vote in record numbers, so if you want a Democrat in the white house go for Obama if you want a republican go for McCAin

Don't see it as a big gun. Axelrod is talented. This ridicules her claim of experience. Who takes Sinbad on a diplomatic mission?

If this was a real diplomatic mission who will she take once she decides to meet Ahmadinejad (after preconditions!)? Will Ferrell?
