A Military Earmark's Ties to Obama Money Man

Sen. Barack Obama requested $8 million for a military defense contractor that has close ties to one of his most prodigious fundraisers.
Obama disclosed the 2006 request on a long list of earmark requests his campaign made public today. The $8 million was for something called a "High Explosive Air Burst Technology Program." The request led to $1.3 million in funding for the program. According to the campaign's earmark disclosure, the defense project was overseen by General Dynamics, one of the nation's largest military contractors. Obama's Illinois finance chairman, James S. Crown, serves on the company's board of directors and his family holds a sizable stake in the company.
Crown and his wife, Paula Crown, are members of Obama's National Finance Committee and have raised more than $200,000 for the Obama campaign, according to a list of fundraisers posted on Obama's campaign website.
The Obama campaign had already made public his 2007 funding requests but had for months resisted requests to share letters written earlier in his tenure to budget committees.
Obama's release of his earmark requests today came with a challenge for Sen. Hillary Clinton to do the same.
"Bringing real change requires changing the way we do business in Washington," said Obama for America communications director Robert Gibbs. "If Senator Clinton will not agree to join Senator Obama in releasing her earmark requests, voters should ask why she doesn't believe they have the right to know she wants to spend their tax dollars."

The press does nobody any favors with its "hands off" policy with respect to Obama's past.
The real Obama is the slickest chicago politician anyone's seen in years.
He has a history of over-promising and under-delivering.
His history of funneling money to Rezko for slum repairs that were never done is shameful and quite literally criminal.
The majority of Americans do not know of Obama's history of repeated Cocaine abuse and will not knowingly elect someone with a history of abusing "hard drugs" to the Presidency.
Republicans will not be the least bit shy about bringing these facts to the public's attention.
The best hope for America is for the press to do its job and bring these facts to voters attention before its too late for Democrats to choose another candidate.
If Democrats nominate Obama, they will lose.
America can't afford for that to happen.

Obama has a very carefully crafted image.
Its about as far from reality as can be imagined.
The real Obama is cold, calculating, and manipulative.
He only cares about himself.
The real Obama is crooked as a horse-shoe.
The real Obama let the people who elected him state senator suffer and die in Slums that he funneled $100M of Government money to his friend Rezko to repair, but were never even touched.
That's the real Obama.
He's arrogant, incompetent, and only cares about himself.
His carefully crafted image is as fake as Bush's was.
Will America make the same mistake again?
For all our sakes, I hope not.

Obama is a very stand up kind of guy.He has the integrity to at least reveal this stuff to the American people. He is pretty much an open book compaired to Clinton and McCain.

To get back to the article, I readily commend Obama once again for his integrity. I can't remember the last time a politician offered his past so casually for review. Usually this happens 25 years too late and after several lawsuits. As we speak the Clintons are trying to bury her records while first lady. HRC has claimed she's "too busy" to release her tax records but will do so when she wins the nomination... Umm... #1 - you've got 6 weeks not until the next primary. There's some time for ya. Is that not enough time to fax some docs? I mean it's her friggin taxes... it's already prepared. and #2 - assuming, god forbid, she gets the nomination... does she really anticipate having more time??? And SHE has the nerve to complain about hollow speeches.
