Obama Snags Richardson Endorsement

By Peter Slevin
CHICAGO -- Gov. Bill Richardson (D-N.M.) will endorse Sen. Barack Obama's presidential candidacy today after a long courtship by both Obama and his rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Obama campaign announced this morning.

The endorsement of Richardson, the nation's only Hispanic governor, has been seen as a rich prize since he abandoned his own presidential campaign in January. He is expected to appear with Obama at a campaign event in Oregon today.

In a statement first reported by the Associated Press, Richardson described the Illinois senator as a "once-in-a-lifetime leader that can bring our nation together and restore America's moral leadership in the world."

Clinton campaign advisers dismissed the significance of Richardson's endorsement, Washington Post staff writer Anne Kornblut reported. "You know, look, I think everyone has their endorsers," said chief strategist Mark Penn. Given that New Mexico had already voted for Clinton in its primary, "perhaps the time when he could have been most effective has long since passed, " Penn said. "I don't think it's a significant endorsement."

But it is one that Clinton had solicited. For Obama, who is laboring to stop Clinton from building momentum and persuading voters that she is more electable, Richardson's endorsement could add to his credibility among Hispanics, as well as among Democratic superdelegates whose choices could prove decisive. In recent weeks, the bumpiest of his 13-month campaign, Obama has picked up more superdelegates than Clinton.

Richardson chose Obama despite his close ties to the Clintons and Hillary Clinton's win in New Mexico's primary. He served as energy secretary and U.N. ambassador in Bill Clinton's administration, and the former president joined Richardson to watch last month's Super Bowl.

But when it came time to decide, Richardson said Obama "will be a historic and great president, who can bring us the change we so desperately need by bringing us together as a nation here at home and with our allies abroad."

The Obama campaign provided a copy of prepared remarks Richardson is scheduled to deliver in Oregon.

While Richardson called Hillary Clinton "a distinguished leader with vast experience," he said it is "now time for a new generation of leadership."

In a reference to the Clintons's argument that Obama is too inexperienced to be commander in chief, Richardson referred to his own role as a globe-trotting troubleshooter who has met with rogue state leaders. He said Obama possesses "the judgment and courage we need in a commander-in-chief when our nation's security is on the line."
Obama returned the praise and said he was "deeply honored" to have Richardson's support.

Obama said in a prepared statement that Richardson has a strong economic record in New Mexico. On foreign policy, Obama credited Richardson with "tough, aggressive diplomacy" that aligns with an Obama credo that "we have to talk to our enemies, as well as our friends, which is why he stood up to North Korea and Saddam Hussein to secure the release of American hostages."

Michelle Obama should be ashamed.

"GLORK" Michelle Obama should be ashamed of her separatist-racist connection to Farrakhan and Chicago's Trinity United Church trumpeting Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama as the second coming of the messiah. If Michelle Obama new what her husband -- the Hope-A-Dope, Fonster Monster -- Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama did in Harlem, she would wash her wide-open, Hus-suey loving MUSILM mouth out, with twenty-four (24) mule-team double-cross X-boX-BorraX. He is a MUSLIM "Glork" It's time to introduce this false, fake "GLORK" Xerox - X box Obama and invite the self-indicting thief plagiarizing pipsqueke Xerox - X box to meet the Buffalo "GAZOWNT-GAZIKKA" Police Department Buffalo Creek. He's MAD!!!

THE SPEECH --

The Apologia has arrived and once again the self-indicting, separatist-racist Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama, promises to heal the wounds of the world. The speech is the rude awakening of mass messianism of his campaign. Apologetically, Obama the MUSLIM double-cross X-boX-BorraX has an astonishingly empty two-prawn echelon explanation of his misjudgment.
In the first prawn: with regard to his connection to separatist-racist Rev. Wright; Obama summons voodoo and juju to express slavery as beginning and ending with the Rev. Wright.
In the second prawn: Obama's speech takes credit for Ashley's dream. A dream of unity Martin Luther King, Jr. borrowed from Ashley for his historic "I Have A Dream" speech. In Obama's speech, the connective bond Ashley, the elderly black man and Obama's grandmother share; represents Obama's self-indicting rise to the Harvard Yard. For Obama, the grand flag of language is the semi-fore of words, bestowed upon our nation by the messiah-alumni from Harvard. Obama's Swoon-Song Apologia to the nation represents a failed hymn -- a hymn that fails to heal the nation, repair the world, or make this time different than all the rest. Obama's speech is a brilliant failure.

no matter how he tries to say it....it is time for a new generation to take charge (wasn't he also running for president, is he saying his generation no longer has anything left to offer??)richardson will mostly be seen by the majority of hispanics as being blatantly opportunistic and disloyal. clinton put him on the map and afforded him all the opportunities he has had as a politician....which helped him win his state's governorship. he should have at least waited on the sidelines but chose instead to stick in the eye of his mentors who made him all that he is. disgusting!

Obama's efforts to connect to the Republican Party, specifically Bush, and Dick Chaney, of the Halliburton Company, dates back to the Presidents Grandfather, Prescott Bush, and indeed Chaney was once an executive officer of Halliburton.

The American military pounds Iraq with Artillary, bombs, and the like, destroying large sections of cities, and infra-structures, then Halliburton comes in to rebuild. Halliburton and Halliburton associated companies have raked in ten's of billions.

Obama is just like the BIG HALIBURTAN. Haliburton has contracted to build detention centers in the U.S. similiar to the one in Quantanammo Bay, Cuba. Halliburton does nothing to earn the Two Dollars for each meal an American Serviceman in Iraq eats.

http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/

Halliburton was scheduled to take control of the Dubai Ports in The United Arab Emiirate. The deal was canceled when Bush was unable to affect the transfer of the American Ports.

Now we see what some might suspect as similiar financial escapading from the Democrats.

Two years ago, Iraq's Ministry of Electricity gave a $50 million contract to a start-up security company - Companion- owned by now-indicted businessman (TONY REZKO) Tony Rezko and a onetime Chicago cop, Daniel T. Frawley, to train Iraqi power-plant guards in the United States. An Iraqi leadership change left the deal in limbo. Now the company, Companion Security, is working to revive its contract.
Involved along with Antoin "Tony" Rezco, long time friend and neighbor of Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, and former cop Daniel T. Frawley, is Aiham Alsammarae. Alsammarae was accused of financial corruption by Iraqi authorities and jailed in Iraq last year before escaping and returning here.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON --
Recently, Obama's campaign staff have been vetted by the IRS to disclose his connection to the criminal money generating underworld. Besides, his connections to the REZCO MAFIA types, his up-coming tax fraud charges -- Obama needs to disclose why he is a MUSLIM "PATWANG-FWEEE" and disclose Obama's MUSLIM Farrakhan mob connection to Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama's spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright's daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said "truly epitomized greatness." That man is Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan and Chicago's Trinity United Church are trumpeting Barack Obama AKA Barack Hussein Obama as the second coming of the messiah. Obama should stop suppoting our intervention in IRAQ. The face had drifted through American pictography for decades before being claimed by Mad editor Harvey Kurtzman after he spotted it on the bulletin board in the office of Ballantine Books editor Bernard Shir-Cliff, later a contributor to various magazines created by Kurtzman.

For all you Obama cultists and Hilary freaks - you all better face the facts here. Democrats are going to lose big in November. So while each side and their lemmings throw mudballs at each other... just know that it's all going to be for naught anyway. John McCain will be the one standing on the steps of the Capital in January 2009 getting sworn in as the next President of the US. Repubs will most likely also regain control of either or both houses of congress. The US will party like its 2000 once again!

As a New Mexican, former New Yorker, I am proud that Bill Richardson endorsed Barack. Hillary would sell her gender down the river if it got her the nomination. Women need to wake up. Working class people need to wake up. She is a carpetbagger who is for herself and herself only. I am disgusted that I am being lumped into her demographic of white older women. This older woman has always endorsed Barack.

Posted by: soulpainter95 | March 22, 2008 8:36 AM

Hillary is such an unashamed liar, it is no point in saying to her, "Shame on you!" The Clintons are shameless, and in their lust to return to the WH they are prepared to destroy Senator Obama, the Democratic Party and our country and the younger generation. President Clinton's horrible slurs on Senator Obama's patriotism, Hillary's endorsement of McCain over Obama, their playing of the gender and race cards, her lies on NAFTA, etc, etc--it is TIME for the party leaders (Gore, Pelosi, Edwards, Biden, etc) to place the Clinton Dynasty in the wastebasket of history and to turn the page for a new America of WE the people, of all colors, creeds, genders, and classes. The Clinton machine is going berserk and taking us all down with it.

Look, if we are going to be handing out the Executive Branch to Foreigners, we should at least take advantage of the illegal Employment Practice the Dim's favor!

Vincente Fox for example is Illegal, and as such we will not have to provide any Medical, or Retirement Benefits!

Plus, I think he'll work harder and not demand as many Vacations! Won't want to Travel either because of having to come back through Customs!

Much Cheaper! ;~)

-- Reverand Wright is not racist. --

-

Yet it's not hard for millions to morph
over to that, when he has been an
angry, racially-divisive extremist.

Language that Barack, categorically
renounced. So the "it's true / it's
accurate" defense, he's already taken
away.

The "not like that most of the time"
defense, as I just mentioned above is
also difficult. Extremists, are usually
extremists...

The "don't blame Barack for Wright"
defense, suggests that the self-
proclaimed racial uniter, had no
obligation to object to this ideology
for 20 years. He can attend it, look
the other way - no problem.

Again it doesn't wash. It's hard to
see Dr. King patronizing that message.
He understood that the key to progress
was to bring ethnicities together, and
he did it. He didn't just talk the
talk.

This is of Obama's own making. He
could have objected, he could have
left. Instead he stays, and says
he'll denounce only, not disown.

He is a hypocrite that tried to work
both sides of the table, and it blew
up on him.

It's a convenient racist, divisive myth that Latino/Blacks are enemies, except for those who assume white superiority thinking. Despite any little/local issues they might have, overwhelmingly they have more in common than they have in difference: racist exploitation and oppression, but still confident of their human worth and dignity.
Period.

Best candidate by far. My goodness. This bonehead called his grandmother a racist. A woman who raised him. How can anyone vote for a guy who would sell out his own grandmother to win an election, after he, himself got into a political mess because of a racist minister. Very poor judgment. Follow obediently sheep.

Posted by: bnw173 | March 21, 2008 03:09 PM

He did not call his White grandmother racist. He talked about her being afraid of Black men. That is the truth. I guess you are the one calling her racist. IMO, Tis is not racisim, it's prejudice. In your case though, it sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. Reverand Wright is not racist. He may have made some "unAmerican" comments but not racist. Saying that this country is controlled by rich White people is not racist. It's true. We wouldn't be in Iraq fighting this idiotic war if that weren't the case. I guess making statements about chickens coming home to roost and saying anti-american things makes one racist? However, making assumptions that all Black men are out to get you when you are passing them on the street is not. That way of thinking in itself is racist and you are the sheep.

Meanie! ;-)

The idea that most of the time Wright
is not a manic, is a weak defense Ed.
No wonder you need to drop to a personal
level to defend it...

% of the time, is irrelevant. Wright
spewed it, Barack attended. For 20 years.
By Obama's own acknowledgements now,
only because he knew he was about to
be busted on last week's version, that
he hadn't heard them before.

Why wouldn't Richardson endorse Obama, they both want the same things as does Clinton and McCain, i.e., amnesty and benefits for millions of ILLEGAL aliens at the expense of and against the protests of American citizens, they also want world government.

Why wouldn't Richardson endorse Obama, they both want the same things as does Clinton and McCain, i.e., amnesty and benefits at the expense of and against the protests of American citizens, they also want world government.

CFR / NAU & 2008 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

"The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is the American Branch of a society which originated in England and believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established." -Carroll Quigley, member of CFR, mentor to Bill Clinton

"The main purpose of the Council on Foreign Relation is promoting the disarmament of U.S. sovereignty and national independence and submergence into an all powerful, one world government." "...the very substantial research facilities of the CFR are put to work to develop arguments, intellectual and emotional, to support the new policy..." "...and to confound and discredit, intellectually and politically, any opposition." -Admiral Chester Ward, former CFR member and Judge Advocate General of the U.S. Navy

Who is a CFR / NAU member?

Which Presidential Candidates, including those that dropped out, are for One-World Government?

Republican Fred Thompson

Republican Rudy Giuliani

Republican Mitt Romney

Republican JOHN MCCAIN

Republican Jim Gilmore

Republican Newt Gingrich

Democrat HILARY CLINTON

Democrat BARACK OBAMA

Democrat John Edwards

Democrat Joe Biden

Democrat Chris Dodd

Democrat Bill Richardson

Is there any difference between Republican and Democrat when they have the same goal?

Go to www.cfr.org (Council of Foreign Relations Website). Do a search for: Sovereignty and Globalisation. Take a look at CFR President Richard N. Haass' article "Sovereignty and Globalisation. Check the membership and involvement of all the candidates. See For Yourself!

So called free trade deals and world governmental organizations are a threat to our independence as a nation.

We MUST withdraw from any organization and trade deal that infringes upon the Freedom and Independence of the United States of America!

Governor Richardson has extensive international negotiation experience and has been nominate for the Nobel peace prize on four separate occasions. Last month he said that the Clintons used a cluster bomb technique in seeking his endorsement compaired to Obama's surgical air strike technique. All three Clinton's and many of their party supporters called him everyday. Senator Obama made a short personal call to him once every week or two to tell him that he would appreciate the endorsement if he felt he could give it. It was most likely loyalty to the Clinton's that held him back so far, but in the end, he made his choice based on what he felt was best for the country and the party. He said that was "A once in a lifetime leader that can bring our nation together and restore America's moral leadership in the world." The Clinton's did give him a job, but he paid them back. He did the job well. He didn't sell his soul forever because they gave him a job. It's a mistake to be angry at someone who has served us so well because he acts on his own concience. I agree with the writer who said he would support the democratic candidate, whether Clinton or Obama. Obama brings more of what is most important to me, but Clinton is surely better then eternal war. Bush/McCain are sword rattling at Iran and Ecuador and McCain says there will be many more wars. Since our army is already too dessimated to handle what is being asked of them currently without endless rotations for our soldiers, where do you suppose the republicans plan to get the bodies for all this fighting?

Patrick ~~ I agree. I don't see BHO picking a senator (or a former senator). He needs a Governor but I don't think it can be Richardson. Two minorities on a ticket won't fly. Richardson would definitely be cabinet material but I would guess he's not holding out for the VP slot.

I'm waiting for Bill to call me on this so I can't confirm it at the moment.

DISPATCHES FROM THE GROUND WAR ...

THE HUFFINGTON POST IS REPORTING ...

McCain Spiritual Guide Accused Gov't Of Enabling 'Black Genocide'

By Sam Stein

This past week, Sen. Barack Obama's former pastor Jeremiah Wright has come under heavy fire in part over comments that suggested the U.S. government had introduced AIDS into black communities.

But it turns out he's not the only religious confidant to a presidential candidate who thinks the state has targeted black populations with death and disease.

Reverend Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church of Columbus, Ohio -- whom Sen. John McCain hails as a spiritual adviser -- has suggested on several occasions that the U.S. government was complicit in facilitating black genocide.

In speeches that have gone largely unnoticed, Parsley (who is white) compares Planned Parenthood, the reproductive care and family planning group, to the Klu Klux Klan and Nazis, and describes the American government as enablers of murder ...

It has been quite some time since Richardson has been publicly trying to coerce Hillary to quit.

Many of you need to understand that the Hispanic community would not support Richardson and he would not convince us because we see clearly that he is an opportunist looking to enhance himself at the cost of anything including the population of his state who supported Hillary.

This man rose out of nowhere thanks to the generosity of the Clintons and should have looked at Hillary much closer. Also he has succumbed to the pressures and tactics of the Obama camp who dangled before him possibly a position. You certainly lose your soul when you sell yourselves to the highest bidder.

I invite you to research Richardson's record and you could also discover that he is full of himself (he demonstrated this when campaigning) and only cares about himself. His record also presents a history of harassment and perhaps that is why he is NOT voting for Clinton. Individuals with a low degree of understanding in our community cannot divorce themselves and trascend from their prejudices and the choice could be as simple as Richardson NOT BEING ABLE TO VOTE FOR A FEMALE CANDIDATE despite her qualifications.

Despite his look I DO NOT consider him to be one within our community and sharing our values.

So, don't get fooled because his endorsement will MEAN NOTHING to us and will be the end of his career as he has lost any support from the Hispanic community.

Good riddance!!!

You are aware and it can be confirmed with full documentation that during the time you were a presidential candidate you and other former presidential candidates (i.e Senator Chris Dodd) were repeatedly placed on written notice that presidential candidate/Illinois US Senator Barack Obama and co-chair Obama 2008/Illinois US Senator Dick Durbin had been placed on prior repeated noticed that when I a Hispanic American citizen reported incidents of race discrimination towards me by Hormel foods Corp., UFCW, and Target Corp., the agencies the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (four instance, but not limited to) refused and are still continuing to refuse (even to the date) to afford me, a US American born citizen from the state of Illinois, the full language and the same full and equal protections under Title VII that non-Hispanics enjoy as a matter of record. You and other former presidential candidates (i.e., Senator Chris Dodd, who has already made it abundantly clear by endorsing Obama that he doesn't care about Hispanics/Latinos being treated unequally in Obama's own state of Illinois) were repeatedly placed on written notice about presidential candidates/Illinois US Senator Barack Obama's unwillingness to stop ongoing illegal discrimination. In his own state of Illinois as it relates to his Illinois constituents (who happened to be Hispanic/Latino) when they report race discrimination in Illinois, which are facts that can be verified. By endorsing Barack Obama you are helping Obama to facilitate this harm against Hispanic Americans, which makes this ongoing fight against this form of discrimination harder because you are Hispanic. Governor Bill Richardson, you are knowingly selling Hispanics out for whatever Barack Obama is promising you. I am not a governor I am just an average Hispanic American citizen in Illinois and in Barack Obama's own state of Illinois. If you identify yourself as being Hispanic and report race discrimination not as a governor you will run into the same discrimination and obstacles I am fighting against that without dispute prevent me, a Hispanic American natural born citizen, the same rights and language non-Hispanics enjoy as a matter of record when non-Hispanics assert race discrimination in Illinois, and having been placed on repeated written notice by me about this ongoing discrimination in Illinois against Hispanics/Latinos you are now being complicit in this discrimination against Hispanics/Latinos by endorsing Barack Obama as there can be no dispute this obstruction of justice and discrimination is ongoing in my particular case. Barack Obama has given a supposedly historic speech about race recently to defend his pastor's hate of America but Hispanics like me who love America cannot assert race discrimination because of Barack Obama's inaction. This should be more than a simple red flag, but with history on my side and facts that back up the true nature of Barack Obama you endorsing Obama will forever include you with Barack Obama's racist legacy.

The undecided superdelegates as an obligation, side with the candidate who has more delegates and has won more states, and has the best chance of beating the republican nominee and that's been proven countless times in Polls to be Obama.

Well done, Richardson, you have supported the best candidate BY FAR!

You clinton and mccain supporters are so bitter at every single positive thing that happens to Obama. Surely the best candidate with the best credentials should win. And that person is clearly Obama. Sorry to dissapoint you, but he is going all the way to the white house as President Of The United States Of America.

I mean, Mccain is addressing his democratic nominee as Obama, not clinton. Obama has won twice as many states, more delegates, he has the popular vote, etc, etc.
Obama is ahead of clinton. The undecided superdelegates as an obligation, side with the candidate who has more delegates and has won more states, and has the best chance of beating the republican nominee and that's been proven countless times in Polls to be Obama.

Remember the campaign slogans :

- hillary for president.

- OBAMA FOR AMERICA!

Yet she can only win if she gets the super delegates to overturn the voters... and who are the endorsers but the super delegates! This looks like a major gaffe by Hillary as she can't have it both ways! Look for other superdelegates to start making their move to embrace the candidate with the popular vote, the most elected delegates and the most states... nobody by Hillary wants the outcome decided in a smokey room at the very end.

Posted by: arthurWfromVA | March 21, 2008 01:59 PM
------------------
I know who superdelages were but did not know the rules so I looked them up.

"Superdelegate" is an informal term for some of the delegates to the Democratic National Convention, the presidential nominating convention of the United States Democratic Party.

Unlike most convention delegates, the superdelegates are not selected based on the party primaries and caucuses in each U.S. state, in which voters choose among candidates for the party's presidential nomination. Instead, most of the superdelegates are seated automatically, based solely on their status as current or former elected officeholders and party officials. Others are chosen during the primary season. All the superdelegates are free to support any candidate for the nomination.

As the last line says, ' All the superdelegates are free to support any candidate for the nomination.'

So they are not going against the rules. The one thing that is clear is the DNC needs to get it's act together. If we lose against McShame, it will be sad.

Let the weakminded be silenced to the louder positive crowds of every life position and status, age, registered party preference, religion, all combined.

Hillary or Obama for 2008

Any progress is good for this country. For us positive people, lets join in the ranks to victory. Nevermind the few, let us be the majority. We do have that option.

I look forward to November; let the most understanding outnumber the less. That's all I have to say about that =) To all of you, goes my nod =)

Media Inc. is now on it's 4th attempt to
tell America that Barack is the nominee;

- "Up 12 points" in NH / Hillary done

- "Closed to 2 points" in CA / Hillary in trouble
in MA, NJ, maybe even NY

- "Up 4 points" in TX, ClosingClosingClosing
in OH / Hillary will have to Quit Soon...

Now they are back to delegate projections and
declaring Hillary "can't win".

Those assume Obama holds the support through
the last 8 primaries, that he's had prior. As if nobody
has much problem with the lunatic pastor that he's
been hypocritically patronizing the last 20 years.

The blogs say otherwise. People are clearly leaving
the tent now. Hillary wins big in PA, Barack can't
wallpaper over Wright with a subject-changing speech
from Tuesday, loses his coalition, loses everywhere left
except maybe Af/Am-heavy NC - you will then see
Media Inc. stand corrected.

Again.

Very interesting choice of words by Clinton:
In a statement Clinton shrugged off Richardson's endorsement, saying "both of us have many great endorsers, and the voters, not endorsers, will decide this election.
Yet she can only win if she gets the super delegates to overturn the voters... and who are the endorsers but the super delegates! This looks like a major gaffe by Hillary as she can't have it both ways! I wonder how many of those who condemn Obama for Wright's comments have actually taken the time to see the context of his sermons, i.e., the full sermons. There are so many willing to attack, based on these outtakes--made by who knows who--and latch onto them to justify the real feelings in their hearts. What kind of cartoon mind will hate a person's words with such venom without taking the minimal time or energy to see if their hatred is justified? I'll tell you: a mind that is predisposed to hate. A mind that is small, lazy, incurious, anti-intellectual and primitive. A mind like George Bush's.

Richardson wants to get out of Iraq that makes Obama the logical choice. Hillary voted for it. Her constant changing of her opinions on the war, NAFTA, drivers licenses, Florida/Michigan status makes her untrustworthy to do what she says.

dyinglikeflies: "And by the way, it's time someone said this- Howard Dean is the most incompetent, stupid leader the Democrats have ever had- imagine throwing Florida away in the general election because he is afraid of ticking off one of the primary candidates who is losing there?"

It was thanks to Dean and his forward-looking 50-state strategy in 2006 that returned the Senate to Democratic hands. And Dean is once again looking to the future in taking a hard line against those state party organizations that deliberately defied DNC rules and moved their primaries up before Feb. 5. (I certainly don't want to see the next series of primaries beginning in November of 2011.) Dean's performance has been exemplary--I hope he continues in that position for a long time to come.

I am for either Barack OR Hillary. Whomever gets the Democratic nomination, is whom will get my vote.

This isn't kindergarten. The Issues we are facing are very real. This is not a game. I hope not all of us are children, but ADULTS; therefore, like Adults we should remind ourselves of where we stand on The Issues and support the nominee whom is proposing to carry out our wishes on the matters.

To those of you whom are Hillary or Obama supporters whom suggest you will totally aim to purposely FLIP the nomination when we may have a strong case to grasp The General Nomination if we all unite regardless of our preferences....THINK ABOUT HOW YOU ALL SOUND RIGHT NOW and let me ask a few questions.

We have TWO fine candidates of the three and they are on very similar issues; their stances on The Issues are not so different.

For ALL of your reasons to remain purposely biased or prejudiced (against the candidates in general, not at all referring to race) it is YOU ALL and not Obama or Hillary-IT IS YOU ALL whom are POLARIZING and DAMAGING not to the party but for this entire country. IS THAT CRAP more important than our Americans serving day in and day out overseas in Iraq of all places when they damn well shouldn't even be there?! WE ARE HERE at home enjoying our comforts, THEY AREN'T. Don't you think many would like to come the hell home? Can you people for once GET OFF OF THE DUMB you know what and think about bigger issues that affects EVERYONE and NOT JUST YOURSELVES?!?! Can you consider to NOT attempt to flip the nomination for your petty reasons for the greater cause that you can help someone else BESIDES YOURSELVES? Did you hear McCain mention he is ready to keep sending our fellow Americans over x amount of years?! Our defenses have been minimized by thousands of individuals, and families are losing crucial members. This is not a game. We need to worry about our economy. Jobs have been shifted overseas and for what?!?! Can you think about the two fine candidates whom will battle that entire issue? There's many many more issues. Please, get off of the dumb you know what and Focus On The Issues and what YOU intend/OR SHOULD intend to help do about it. Get on THAT general bandwagon.

That sure is adult thinking amidst the matters we are facing: "If my candidate isn't chosen, I'm voting for someone whom is totally against everything my preferred candidate is for."

GROW UP!!!

My hope is that every person with legit logic and understanding will vote for the great cause and leave these here people twisting in the wind. We're on the same team for similar reasons. We didn't wait 7 years to flip the nomination FOR AN ADDITIONAL 4 YEARS RIGHT AFTER THIS PAST 7.

Seriously we look like idiots to foreigners, because SOME PEOPLE are allowing the flopping to happen when we clearly have positive choices to choose from. Could it be your faults for Bush? I pray you seriously don't put McCain in office after he has declared to continue Bush's nonsense WHEN THE DEMOCRATS have been attempting to fight his nonsense all along and you're threatening to help McCain?? It is not just the candidates whom may send messages to the foreigners. We the people, putting the nominated into office can send foreigners the message of what we stand for as well. Right now, opinions aren't very enlightened.

Poor Bill! He and Pelosi are both angling now
to be VP on the Titanic. Have they learned
nothing from Ted Kennedy?!

;-)

Richardson must have endorsed, after viewing
racially divisive remarks from Wright that he has
no problem with Barack in attendance of for 20
years, but before this;

-

610 WIP host Angelo Cataldi asked Obama about his Tuesday morning speech on race at the National Constitution Center in which he referenced his own white grandmother and her prejudice. Obama told Cataldi that "The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know (pause) there's a reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way."

-

"Comes out in the wrong way", indeed. Obama was
referring to himself in the present moment there.
He is far smarter than to utter stereotypes. Even
idiots like Bush don't make that error. Fatigue
and disorientation has obviously set in.

That is backed up by the comical release yesterday
by the Obama staff - after days of scrambling for
something/anything apparently - of a pic of Wright
at some Bill Clinton event at the White House 10
years ago.

As if that somehow legitimizes Wright, or means
Clinton endorsed him just like Barack.

That released yesterday by Obama staff is so
nonsensical, so totally unhelpful to their situation,
it illustrates the kind of internal turmoil that has
taken over. These guys do not know which
way is up anymore.

I've always held Richardson in high regard and am delighted to see this endorsement...and he would be a great choice for VP.

I find all the comments about being "disloyal to the Clintons" or "doing this to become the VP choice of Obama" to be very disappointing.

If a person thinks that an endorsement should be based on "loyalty", doesn't that mean that the only basis for a decision today is what someone may have done for you in the past? Doesn't that mean that someone is not allowed to make a judgment that is based on his current belief?

I happen to agree with Richardson that Obama is a "once-in-a-lifetime leader" which is why as a Republican I am actively supporting Obama...does that mean I am disloyal to my party or does it mean I am loyal to my country. I think loyalty to one's country should be the litmus test, not loyalty to personal relationships.

Oh, and by the way, who wouldn't want to see Richardson on the short-list for VP. He too is a leader with great judgment and wide-ranging experience.

Is it just possible that we might end up with a government that can work over the couple of terms instead of the embarrassing debacle we have all suffered with under the Bush Administration?

Good luck Mr. Obama and thanks for supporting the best candidate in the race, Mr. Richardson.

Just a few thoughts.
I find it interesting that there are few, if any, posts dealing with why we should vote for Hillary, only why we should vote against Obama.

The only way Obama injected race into this campaign that I have seen is by having the unmitigated gall to run for President in the first place. How dare he?

Part of the significance of the Richardson endorsement is that Bill Richardson must have a pretty good idea about what his political future holds if Hillary wins the nomination, but he endorsed Obama anyway.

BILL RICHARDSON. What a ZERO, pandering for a V.P. position, staying quiet to endorse either candidate till he thought Obama would prevail, then, calling for Hillary to quit the race before the people had a chance to speak in Texas and Ohio when it was still virtually tied as it is now.

Zero because Bill Richardson picked up all of ZERO delegates when he bowed out of the race just before his state's (New Mexico) caucus, because he did not want to be embarrassed in his own state.
He didn't have the "cojones" to continue, Hillary does, she wears the "Pant-Suit"!

Bill Richardson is a former Clintonista, un-grateful and dis-loyal after Bubba put him on the map. Nobody wants him as a V.P., because being overweight, he is only good to occupy latitudes and longitudes on that map that Bill C. put him on! "HE is the overweight lover in the house, the house...!"

Richardson is a wannabe latino (one could not tell from his name) who started to market himself as one after it became fashionable to be "livin' the vida loca"! I wonder if he can even speak the language (Spanish) properly? He can't, just heard him endorse, his accent sucks and his vocabulary limited.

Bill Richardson's endorsement is like having PESOS in your pocket, CHANGE that is not worth very much!

Who was he (Richardson) to tell Hillary to quit the race when there was still "time left on the clock"? Americans are not quitters, it's just not the American way. Hillary is a great American and she will be a great President!

God Bless America, God Bless America, God Bless America. Yes, the 2nd word is BLESS, let me repeat it: GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Great choice! A late endorsement is better than no endorsement.

Actually, many blacks are Latino and many Latinos are black. Latino (language) versus black (color) is not an accurate comparison. Being Latino means so many different things to so many differnt cultures. During slavery I might add, a greater percentage of Africans ended up in other parts of the Americas, West Indies, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Hondurus, Brazil, etc. than the smaller percentage of Africans that came to the US.

Of course, US history in the US doesn't exactly teach the whole truth to our youth. In my youth, everything seemed to start with slavery and end with MLK. This also contributes to the many issues we are seeing with respect to race and culture.

Good for Richardson. Obama is the real deal.

Hillary's shill Mark Penn is a union-busting scumbag who does PR for Blackwater, those murdering mercenaries.

Hillary is a DLC DINO corporatist and is splitting the Democratic party with her Rovian smear-and-lie tactics.

Posted by: TomIII | March 21, 2008 1:04 PM

As a Hispanic myself I totally disagree with Richardson endorsing Obama. He has risen to where he is today ONLY because of the efforts and support of the Clintons and he reaped out of his connection with them. True Hispanics have a deep sense of loyalty and appreciation for those that support us and Richardson once more proves to be JUST AN OPPORTUNIST looking for a way to make bigger bucks. I do not accept his idea of UNITY and CHANGE because Obama HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY nothing for our cause. The Clintons with their longstanding actions of support are much more credible.

I,unlike others, would not support one within our group that is NOT DESERVING and we have seen that his ties are merely those where he can gain something. He used the Clintons continuously and now he throws them in the bus. I guess Obama and Richardson are soul mates!!!

Further, in our culture there is a major test that hispanic males need to pass and it is that of trascending MALE CHAUVINISM. It is a vicious cycle for quite a few males in not educating themselves enough to recognize that WOMEN can be as effective in our societies as MEN are.

Richardson has FAILED majorly this test!!!!!

A smart move!!

DemocratforPeace: "BARACK OBAMA PLEASE STEP DOWN. The Democratic Party is bleeding by being split - deeply - in two."

Richardson's endorsement shows the just the opposite. An Hispanic governor who was a former Clinton appointee is joining the Obama campaign. Obama is bringing people of all races and affiliations together, not dividing them. The people who were already against Sen. Obama may be digging in their heels even more firmly, but those people of good will and open minds who are putting the good of the party and the country above personal or ethnic or racial or gender loyalties will win out in the end.

"What kind of 'judgment' is Gov. Richardson displaying? New Mexico is backing Hillary! He is a traitor to his state - a traitor to the Clintons who boosted his career with cabinet posts. It is back-stabbing, to say the least. And, I don't think it will help Obama. Richardson has a loooooong history of sexual harrassment as Governor. All those stories are about to spill out. Obama = lousy 'judgment.'"

I'm guessing that "loooooong history of sexual harrassment as Governor" would have been copasetic with you had he backed Hillary?

Posted by: Goombay | March 21, 2008 12:59 PM

I can tell you this, as a proud American of Hispanic/Latino descent from Texas, Bill Richardson's endorsement of Barak Obama means absolutely NOTHING to change my vote. My support of Senator Clinton has not changed and I believe that even if I was undecided, Richardson's decicion would have had NO bearing on who I would have eventually chosen.
I didn't support Governor Richardson's run during the early part of the primary race so his decision makes no difference. He's entitled to his own personal beliefs.
I'm more interested in who Senator John Edwards will support.

Posted by: txslatino2003 | March 21, 2008 12:59 PM

Obama probably offered Richardson the VP slot, something Hillary was not able to do. That's fine, each superdelegate is independent and have a right to endorse whoever they choose. New Mexico went for Hillary and so do most Hispanics. This will just bolster Hillary's argument that superdelegates do not need to follow the voters' preferences but should exercise independent judgment. GO HILLARY!

Posted by: Skkye | March 21, 2008 12:58 PM

I still think this may go to an open convention. Without MI & FL neither may get enough delegets. If that is the case if Obama gets it Richardson got a shot at a job. If Hillary does though he stays in NM. One thing for sure, politicians have very long memories.

I've always liked Richardson. He is a very passionate straight shooter when it comes to politics. He is very intelligent and comes with the credentials to back it up. If it were between he and Barrack, it would be a tough decision. But with Hillary, I am so extreme as to say, if she by some stroke of bad luck gets the candidacy, I will for the first time in my life vote for a Republican.

Posted by: gmundenat | March 21, 2008 12:45 PM

I'm a typical voter in so much that I could give a rats a$$ as to who or what is endorsing a candidate. Sometimes these endorsements give me pause to look at the candidates, usually not from a positive perspective. I also think I'm more of a typical voter because when you get right down to it - there's no one that deserves my vote. While there's no way in hades that I'll ever vote GOP again, the mess the Dems are offering up simply sicken me. You've got Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum throwing mudballs at each other - no thanks! Instead, I think I'm going to vote "NONE OF THE ABOVE" and vote for good ole Ralph Nader (if he's on the ballot). As of now he's the only person I think deserves a shot at the big job.

Actually, LAGCII, I don't think they are.

I think they are Hillary supporters and will stay home if Obama is the nominee.

They might be thinking a McCain win means another Hillary run in 2012.

But that can't happen with an Obama win.

With an Obama win, the dream of Hillary in the White House is over forever.

That is why I think they are serious when they post what they do.

Thank you, Gov. Richardson. The sooner we can select our candidate the better. And then perhaps we can start debating some real issues instead of phony ones.

I see that McCain's campaign just fired some low-level aide who was posting videos linking Obama to Wright---good show, Sen. McCain; I bet you've seen enough of slimeball politics yourself. You and Obama are capable of conducting the highest level campaign in decades, and I'm looking forward to it.

//This is great news. I wish he had done it sooner. For the sake of the country, party unity and our best shot at winning this in November, the rest of the fence sitting party elders (superdelegates) should follow suit and put some real pressure on Hillary to come to grips with the fact that she can't win this, is doing more harm than good, and should step aside and wish Obama well.

Posted by: badger3 | March 21, 2008 10:43 AM //

I'm saying the time is sooner, not later, for the superdelegates to send a clear and united message to Hillary that they are not going to be her trump card. Realitstically, she doesn't have the regular delegate numbers to catch up and before any further divisions are created that can't heal, the party elders left on the fence should let everyone know they are not going to hand this to her. Game over. Stop throwing good money after bad. Let's talk about what's wrong with McCain and the Republicans.

"There are still millions of voters in upcoming contests who want to have their voices heard," she said.

I would like to see Richardson in a Secretary of State type role, Edwards in an AG role looking after worker rights - the four of them really - Obama, Gore, Edwards, Richardson - if they could work to their strengths - my goodness, we might just get some of these problems sorted out eh?

Posted by: lithium452 | March 21, 2008 12:20 PM

Only a creep like Mark Penn could say that Bill Richardson's time has long since past and that his endorsement of Obama is not "significant". Had Hillary gotten the endorsement, Penn, Wolfson, and the rest of Hillary's "rig the primary" gang would have said it was a historic moment in American politics, blah, blah. I'm really sick & tired of Clinton's people condescending attitude toward the electorate. I used to support her, but Obama has the bvote of this white, 55 year old male, and has since Billo shot off mouth in South Carolina. Clinton infused racism into this primary and she would do anything, even if it destroys the next generation of Democratic voters, to get her moment in the sun. It's really despicable.

The democratic candidates spent a lot of time with eachother during the numerous debates. Richardson has spent a lot of time around the Clintons.

Dodd supports Obama, Richardson supports Obama, Kucinich supports Obama, not sure about Biden.

Clinton is more than willing to hurt the party despite the fact she can't realistically win the nomination.

Posted by: Juked | March 21, 2008 12:14 PM

I don't understand the bitterness. It's obvious he put personal feelings aside and did what he thought would be best for the party and the country. If more people would think that way, we'd all be better off.

For Clinton to dismiss it after she's been courting hispanics and receiving over 60% of the hispanic vote shows that she's not geniune. Maybe it's time for her to think about what's best for the country & the party.

This is a huge endorsment aimed to signal a message to the superdelegates. If this endorsement would have come earlier, it would have given the Texas primaries and the nomination to Obama. It is very understandable that being the one deciding of the nomination was probably too much pressure for Bill and for anyone that respect the party. Bill Richardson made a good judgement call.
