Bill Clinton: Obama Campaign 'Played the Race Card on Me'

Updated 4:25 p.m.
By Anne E. Kornblut
PHILADELPHIA -- Bill Clinton, a victim of racial politics?

That's his new take on the controversy involving his remarks ahead of the South Carolina primary.

"I think that they played the race card on me," Clinton said in an interview on WHYY here yesterday. "And we now know from memos on the campaign and everything that they planned to do it all along."

Clinton said that his remarks -- that the Obama campaign was similar to Jesse Jackson's in 1988, which was decried as an attempt to marginalize Sen. Barack Obama -- were just true statements of fact, which the Obama campaign then tried to turn against him. "This was used out of context and twisted for political purposes by the Obama campaign to try to breed resentment elsewhere," Clinton said.

Clinton has remained irritated (and more) over the ordeal, which alienated many black Clinton supporters who felt that Clinton failed to take into account the broad support Obama has drawn, from voters white and black, in races outside the South. The new comments come as another southern contest is on the horizon: North Carolina, which votes on May 6. The Clinton campaign has already said it expects to have a hard time in that state because of its large black population.

This morning, NBC/NJ asked the former president about the exchange and what he meant when he "said that the Obama campaign was playing the race card on you?"

Clinton bristled, "When did I say that, and to whom did I say that?"

When the reporter pointed to the WHYY radio interview, Clinton denied that that's what he said. "No, no, no. That's not what I said," the former president replied. "You always follow me around and play these little games, and I'm not going to play your games today. This is a day about election day. Go back and see what the question was, and what my answer was. You have mischaracterized it to get another cheap story to divert the American people from the real urgent issues before us, and I choose not to play your game today. Have a nice day."

Video of the exchange with NBC/NJ follows the jump:

Clinton brought up Jesse Jackson. Jackson's campaign did not have broad based support that Obama's had, it was an African-American campaign. Clinton was trying to belittle Obama's victory and in the process appeal to those who would be influenced by racial politics. As representative Clybourn said black people know when code words are being used. Obama was expecting this from Bill Clinton after all this is a win at all cost nomination. Clinton was out-maneuvered. He is blaming the Obama campaign for outsmarting him. Excuses, excuses, just like Hillary, just like Bush, blame it on the opposition. Bill is whining and his legacy is not winning. The well liked mediocre president's legacy is going to be influenced by his deeds and not his words.

Bill will get a chance to turn this around on the podium in Denver, when Obama is nominated.

Sorry Bill but charming, intelligent, shrewd, self-serving, venal at the end, good listener and mendacious are all descriptors for you.

My response, poor Bill, Barack is smarter than you.

To Fred 17: you say both Clintons are liars. If there ever was a liar, it is Obama. He sat in church for twenty years and did not hear his pastor's GO- da-- America, etc. etc. He's supported by Nation of Islam yet he does not consider himself "close"; his friend Rekzo, among other criminals and extremists. I have yet to be proud of Obama; yet unlike his wife, I have have proud of America all my 69 years. Obama will be the downfall of America if elected. And Bill, this is not a racist country. I was a share croppers child and I worked my butt off and am happy with my life. Get off your butt.

Bill Clinton's comment in South Carolina was NOT taken out of context. WATCH THE FOOTAGE!!! There was NO discussion about South Carolina political history in which his comment would have been appropriate. He directly and without any solicitation made the comparison to Jesse Jackson. If anythint, it was a Freudian moment in which his unfiltered thoughts flashed through. So his words have not been twisted. He said what he said and now is attempting to revise the context and make it seem like a reasonable comment. READ AND VIEW ORIGINAL FOOTAGE FOR YOURSELVES, PLEASE!!!

White Christian for Obama,

Let's not forget that Timothy McVeigh was a decorated veteran of Desert Storm. We know what was in his heart. We cannot forgive Wright for the filth that spouts from his mouth just because he is a veteran.

What comes from his mouth is what is in his heart. It is anti-American and it is racist. The worst part though is that he is poisoning the minds of those who sit in his church like the Obama's and their children. I find that deeply disturbing, but what is worse, is that you don't.

Posted by: Typical White Veteran | April 22, 2008 7:36 PM

Clinton is telling the truth. The Obama camp played the race card against him through their surrogate, Donna Brazile. Upon watching Bill Clinton's "fairy tale" comment about Obama's changing stance on the war on CNN, she said it offended her "as an African American". The next day his parrots were all over TV accusing both Clintons of racism. Her for her MLK/LBJ comment. Obama acted like he was staying above the fray by calling the comments "unfortunate".

Bill Clinton has every right to be furious over the character assassination Obama has committed against him and Hillary. The man is a phony slime-ball who will stoop to any level to win. One need only look at his past elections and how Axelrod conducted character assassinations against his opponents in Illinois to see what is really happening in this election.

I hope Hillary kicks major butt tonight!!!!

Racism hurts everyone. Using spirituality to combat racism isn't wrong, and no matter how ignorant fear-mongers try to spin it, black liberation theology is about the brotherhood of man-kind. It is not about putting one race over another like white racists have done for centuries. Jeremiah Wright is a veteran who has sacrificed for his country and a spiritual leader who has helped thousands of people. The Clintons have known him for years and they know his words were taken way out of context. They don't want what's best for the country, they want what's best for their personal bank accounts.

Clintons. Please go the way of Al Gore and John Kerry. We don't ever want to hear of you again.
Bill Clinton has now lost it, and denies saying something that is recorded. Hillary Clinton repeats the sniper story several times and even in a prepared speech, when she knows that the film and others that were with her, will show that it is not true. Bill Clinton is now telling the story of everyone sitting on the flak jackets while the pilot of the plane says that is not true on film. As she told Bill Clinton, you were not there, let me handle it.

These are habitual liars. He was impeached for lying under oath, and she is bragging about her "experience" with him. And these are the people that you want in the White House again?
American is in BAD shape.

A VERY GOOD ARTICLE FROM FACTCHECK.ORG ABOUT THE RACIST THEOLOGY OF OBAMA''S CHURCH:
The "theology" that Wright teaches at his church is nothing like Christianity as most people understand it. The brand of theology which Wright has been teaching Obama and the others at his church is called "black liberation theology." Wright admits this and it is stated on the church's website. Black theology is based upon the premise of the white oppressor against the black oppressed. This is why, for example, that Wright refers to Jesus as black, and his killers as white. This is the only way the story of Jesus fits within this brand of "theology." Rev. Wright cites James Cone, another proponent of black liberation theology, as his theological inspiration. Here are just a couple of James Cone's quotes: (1) "To be Christian is to be one of those whom God has chosen. God has chosen black people." (2) "While it is true that blacks do hate whites, black hatred is not racism." (3) "All white men are responsible for white oppression." (4) "Theologically, Malcolm X was not far wrong when he called the white man "the devil." (5) "If there is any contemporary meaning of the Antichrist, the white church seems to be a manifestation of it." (6) "Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love." *** These statements, and this "theology," are fundamentally racist and divisive. The fact that Obama has chosen to belong to this racist church for 20 years speaks volumes about his character and judgment, and flies in the face of his pronouncements about his ability and intent to "unite" this country.

Posted by: james | April 22, 2008 5:54 PM

It's true. Anyone following closely knows about that memo. Tim Russert was beside himself with glee waving it around one morning.

Obama's campaign planned to use the race card and exaggerated statements by Bill and Hillary. It was in S. carolina and it was used to cause a huge backlash by the AA voters.

Hillary's statement about Johnson signing the civil rights bill and Bill's statement about Jesse Jackson's win in S. Carolina.

MILLIONS of us voters were angered by the blatant mischaracterization of Hillary and Bill as racists.

Journalists spinned it then, and will spin it now for their amusement. But, it has been talked about at water coolers all around the country. It is one reason many of us will not vote for Barack Obama. His "above the fray" rhetoric has not matched his disgusting campaign tactics.

Posted by: Chris | April 22, 2008 5:45 PM

It depends on what the meaning of 'lose' is.
It depends on what the meaning of 'win' is.
It depends on what the meaning of 'play' is.
It depends on what the meaning of 'race' is.

I guess it depends on whether or not we want many more years of "depending on what the meaning of spin is."

End it Hillary! You're done.

Posted by: thebob.bob | April 22, 2008 5:44 PM

Obama said early on and ever since that he did not feel this competition should be about race or gender.

For Clinton to make racially divisive remarks and then blame it on the people he was insulting is an abusive personality trait.

It's like blaming a rape victim for the clothes she wore.

Posted by: wolf | April 22, 2008 5:42 PM

In addition to all the comments about Bill's looseness with the truth, Bill should remember that politics is a contact sport. Hmmm, sound familiar?

Posted by: Patchen | April 22, 2008 5:40 PM

While Hillary Clinton may tells lies, Barack Obama is himself a lie. That is becoming painfully apparent with each new revelation of how drastically his carefully crafted image this election year contrasts with what he has actually been saying and doing for many years.

Senator Obama's election year image is that of a man who can bring the country together, overcoming differences of party or race, as well as solving our international problems by talking with Iran and other countries with which we are at odds, and performing other miscellaneous miracles as needed.

Here's hoping that folks in PA will check this blog and see how little regard the Clintons have for the truth before they head out to vote this evening!

I think Bill is suffering from memory lapse. Regardless of the article's bias (LOL), video and audio does not lie nor hold bias. No matter how much shucking and jiving Bill does, the Clintons might as well give up on the black vote and concentrate on their base.

Posted by: Ericka | April 22, 2008 4:58 PM

Both Clintons are liars. Whether it's Bill on national television saying he did not have sex with Monica or its Hillary saying over and over again that she ducked sniper fire.

And both Clintons are manipulative equivocators whether it's Bill questioning the definition of 'is' or Hillary wiggling around her Iraq war vote.

Bottom line, you can't trust either of them.

Obama did NOT take care of the Black people of his District when he helped his dear friend Rezko win a $100 million bid to rehab 30 buildings in Chicago. Bill Clinton gave Harlem NY grants when he was President and today what was once a ghetto is a beautiful neighborhood with brand beautiful condos, business, and upscale shops. There is a big difference between what Bill Clintons money accomplished and the Ghetto of boarded up and foreclosed buildings that remain in Obama's District after all the money that Rezko recieved. Obama did NOTHING when his people complained of NOT having heat. Today he has stated it was NOT his job. IT was not his job to help rezko get the $100,000,000 either.
one picture is worth a millio words. go to the websites below and see what a mess Obama's district continues to be regardless of grants. How can he manage a Country when he cannot take care of a small portion of one city. Pitiful.
To the Blacks wake up.Obama loves the color GREEN.
The Clintons are your real friends.

Ok I just watched the video and someone has TOO MUCH TIME on their hands. I mean geesh guys is that the best you can come up with. He had already put his finger up in front of his face and I've noticed he does this often. And he was playing with the audience when brushing his shoulders and pant legs off so hence the grin. I had watched the video many times and never paid attention to what truth seeker and the NYT (Clinton endorser) would like to make this into, sad and desperate. Some one has far too much time on their hands.

David, PA,

Thank you for posting that exchange. I'm seriously beginning to wonder if the Clintons can even tell fact from spin anymore. It seems almost pathological. I'm amazed that Bill would tell an outright lie on camera and yet again expose the campaign to another round of mockery about the Clintons' inability to tell the truth and elevate even the most minor of gaffes into major crises of character.

Hillary will more than lose in North Carolina what she picks up in Pennsylvania. Following May 6th, she will be further behind than she was going into Pennsylvania today.

Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Indiana. Hillary keeps hurting the party and helping McCain (who now leads in the polls), for what? Nothing has changed, nothing has broken her way. It was lost to her then, and it's lost to her now. Hillary's goose steppers need to face reality. It's Obama or McCain.

Posted by: gmundenat | April 22, 2008 4:45 PM

"peterdc" - You could have been a DJ with that spin. The fact is that the democratic race is more about character than it is about spin. The Clinton legacy is a tale of two faces...the "public" face and the "real" face when thet are off camera. I and the American people truly thank Bill for this off-air look into his rel personna. I say the American people, because in last 4 days Clinton has gone from 1 point National lead to 10 point deficit.

Um, peterdc, did you notice that Hillary voted in favor of this war? And that while Bill was off fondling interns Osama bin Laden was preparing to attack the US? He's a disgrace to the American presidency, and from what we've seen in this campaign, she would be too. We need a president, not a punch-line.

Posted by: DollySpartan | April 22, 2008 4:19 PM

I think the memos being referenced are ones created by the Obama campaign that listed various statements made by Clinton supporters that they (Obama campaign) perceived as "playing the race card". http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/01/12/read-obama-campaign-memo-_n_81220.html

The impression I got from Bill Clinton's remarks & the poster's response to my question were that some secret memos existed showing that the Obama campaign had a strategy to spuriously and speciously use the race card against Sen. Clinton and they had that plan all along. I did not find anything that referenced such memos and would appreciate any FACTUAL information that does.

What the Obama campaign did with the comments could well be considered "dirty politics" but they didn't make up the comments - they spun them in a politically advantageous way.

After listening to the WHYY interview I was willing to maybe cut Bill Clinton a little slack - after all, maybe his comments had been taken out of context (although anyone who has spent his life in politics should know that's exactly what was going to happen). Then I saw this:

Obama has played the race card from the get-go...Bill isn't a racist.

Obama didn't even want us to vote today! He and Rockefeller wanted Hillary to drop out.

No wonder...he embarrassed himself in the debate. No answers. Just stutters. Yesterday he predicted a Hillary win, today he says it's too close to call. Even he can't remember what lie he said last and to whom.

Posted by: Typical White Pennsylvanian | April 22, 2008 4:15 PM

Clinton is right and Kornhut shows her bias or just poor reporting again with the headline. Or maybe it is the headline writer.

But the fact is the Obama campaign worked hard to frame everything the Clinton's said beginning prior to the SC primary as racist to get the Black vote to move from Clinton to Obama. Oprah began it with her delaration that "It's Our Time". Who is our?

She tried to compare Obama to Martin Luther King, Jr. Where is Lloyd Bentsen when we need him, " Martin Luther King, Jr. was a friend of mine, you are no Martin Luther King, Jr." That is what someone should have said to Obama at the time but it would have been called racist. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a great man. The only thing that Obama has in common with him at this time is an ability to speak well. King was dead before the age Obama is now. He changed a nation in his short life and spent every day risking his life to move forward the principles he believed in.

What is it Obama has done besides run for office and have very little record to show for that. All talk and no action at this stage in his life. Could he do some great things in the future - maybe! But the Presidency is not the place to start. It would be nice if he had something besides a good speech to be elected on. Now it may work, but that in itself is sad and the people who will be the most dissappointed will be the young people who are swallowing the Obama coolaide. There is no history of accomplishment and a history of lying and expanding what he has done. Not a Constitutional law professor but a lecturer, taking money from Rezko when he said he didn't, claiming to pass bills that never made it out of committee, saying he hadn't heard his pastor say outrageous things then admitting he did, claiming he doesn't have lobbyists on the campaign or took their money and he did and does.

Time will tell but right now electing Obama is as Bill Clinton said - Rolling the dice and that is a true statement, not a racist one as was his statement that Obama running on being an anti war candidate is a "fairytale" which it is. One speech doesn't an anti-war candidate make. Cindy Sheehan has done more to end this war and bring American's attention to it than has Senator Barack Obama.

Posted by: peterdc | April 22, 2008 3:55 PM

The fact that he would bring this up again and to try and blame it on Obama is outragous. This is exactly why Hillary should NOT be elected. He goes around shooting his mouth off, if Hillary was president, Bill would be a running embarrassment to the country, saying things about people and blaming everyone but himself. This guy has lost his mind. Bill Clinton doesn't even have the class to recognise his own mistake and blames it on the guy he criticized. As someone who really supported President Clinton in the 90's, I now find Bill and Hillary contempible. Just when you think Bill Clinton can't get lower he does. The sooner they are out of the national scene the better. This makes me doubt Hillary's judgement, no sane woman would stay with Bill.

Please vote for Obmama so we don't have to listen to this obnoxious has-been anymore.

Posted by: Scott | April 22, 2008 3:50 PM

Still lying... Oh yes you did attempt to play the big brother, trying to sound like Obama would take the BLACK vote in SC just as JJ did both being BLACK. And you did NOT have relations with that woman, right? The thought of four years of their sickness is unbearable. No you shouldn't take 'that sh__, so please go home, take the wife and be faithful to her your remaining days. I'll say it... You're a racist and make me sick using blacks as steping stones to make your millions. It makes me sick because it keeps them down and beneath you.

Posted by: lilms | April 22, 2008 3:34 PM

This is kind of like the Bosnia fantasy - there is a tape - Bill's intention is very clear and anyone can youtube it. Even if we were to believe the faulty logic that Obama's camp played the race card (by the way, where are these phantom memos?), what about the fact that this has been a consistent theme of the Clinton campaign. She's sent her surrogates out over and over again to say that Obama's only draw is that he's the black candidate. Fortunately, voters are smarter than that. Clinton's latest attempts to spin and malign Obama are a huge gamble that voters are incredibly stupid. Its the same bet that Bush and co. made, so she figures she's win on that. But voters have spent the last 8 years getting wise to these tricks. She's going to lose that bet this time. She was much more appealing when she was running on her record and her convictions. I supported her then (and I'm Black!!). But her say-anything kitchen sink strategy is disgusting and totally transparent. I'm voting for the candidate with integrity, and that's Obama.

Posted by: GFH | April 22, 2008 3:29 PM

In fact, Obama has been using this race-card ploy as a REVERSE-RACIST tactic through the campaign.

For instance, when asked about whether he considered Bill Clinton a "brother" in the SC debate, Obama replied that he didn't know because he "hadn't seen Bill dance yet". Can you imagine if Hillary had said something like that?

Obama has gotten a free ride on these insinuations. How is comparing Jesse Jackson to Obama seen as racist? Obama has baited this sensitivity, one that lies just below the surface. Blacks and others have jumped at this, and so has the press.

So, instead of honoring Hillary Clinton's YEARS of working for civil rights, we have a black man who has no record, other than helping some poor Chicago blacks to regsiter to vote (that's really all he did) claiming that Hillary is racist, with the press going along.

As a moderate Dem with a brain, I will NEVER vote for Obama. He's disingenuous, and the reverse mirror image of George Bush - lots of rhetoric (delivered better than Bush), but more an empty suit than anything else, and someone who has used the most egregious attacks on his opponent (by teh press) to his advantage.

How anyone can't see through what Obama is doing, and why the press isn't writing about it, is beyond me. It's as if the tactics he's used - as negative, if not more negative than Hillary's - have just flown over the radar of those who should be watching, but are too glued to their hoped-for story about this oratorical genius (that's all he gets credit for, in my book). Sad.

Before SC Bill said it was natural for people to vote for people who were like them so naturally blacks would vote Obama and women would vote his wife. According to his logic, where does that place black women and white men? Bill (Hillary, Gloria Steinem, Geraldine Ferraro to name a few) have been "playing the race card". The words were created by white people to accuse blacks. Just as soon as Bill said the Clinton team, turned around and said: Obama is playing the race card.

Bill's assumption would be that white women would not relate to Obama more than his wife and white men would not be voting for Obama~only black supporters could give Obama a win. With SC being about 20% black of voting ages, it would be highly unlikely that bloc of voters~if it were true~could overwhelm the other 80% of voters.

Many African/Americans do not support Obama or Hillary; they support Romney, Huckabee, Keyes and yes, even McCain. It is 2008 and Bill should be thinking of Obama and Jackson as two very different men, not two black men. The correct label for those who label other human beings is: biracial, not black.

Whine, whine and more whine!! I'm so sick of the Clinton whine, twisting every word someone says into negative garbage I wanta puck. The two of them are pathetic. Superdelegates put them out of our misery PLEASE. Hillary has done nothing but be a donkey's hiney since end of February and we're sick of it. She don't get it and prolly neither of them ever will. They're both transparent and the country has their eyes open this time.

Hillary stopped saying "SHE IS BETTER and OBAMA is not electable" for last 3 weeks is a very CLEAR INDICATION where your MONEY and VOTE is going if you BET on HER.

She LOST IT on Mar 22nd. She is just making sure Obama looses 2008 so she has 2012 CHANCE on GrandPA McCain.

So, If you want to VOTE HILLARY, WAIT TILL 2012.

Clinton's right.

The Obama campaign has played the race card from day one.

Sad, but true.

Posted by: JoeCHI | April 22, 2008 2:47 PM

Hey Bill, you mean like how Hiliary used Obama word 'bitter' and spun it into gross distortion? You mean like that? Please! Go on back your library and do something of worth. Better yet go help Jimmy Carter.

Yesterday "BIN LADEN"
Today "RACE DIVISIVE POLITICS"

Earlier: BOSNIA, NAFTA, COLUMBIA, Ferrarro, Monica, "NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS", Not Electable, Hillary praising McCain etc etc.

CLINTONS are NOT DEMOCRATs ANYMORE.

Posted by: kg | April 22, 2008 2:46 PM

Is this an admission that the Clinton campaign is reading internal Obama memos? How'd they get those?

Posted by: Worth Asking | April 22, 2008 2:46 PM

When did bill get so slimy? Is it old age?

Posted by: samboo | April 22, 2008 2:46 PM

Obama has lost. He lost when he did his disgusting "gangsta finger flipping" act last Thursday after his humiliation in the PA debate.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/04/obamaflipsoffcl.html

You need to ask yourself, why do such a thing and at this crucial time? Why betray your supporters who have contributed over 50 million each month? What about all those high level people who have put their reputations on the line for you out in the community and in the media.

To do this silly, immature thing and on tape and then do it more than once, what is it?

I just can't understand why a serious candidate for Potus would do such a thing.
You need to ask yourself that.

Resolve that it is over for him and reconsider your support for Senator Obama.

If by some incredible circumstance, Senator Finger wins the nomination, he has already lost the general.

Funny one of the commentators says he didnt read the memo that was circulating in the obama campaign to push the argument that the clintons were racist. Obama is on record 'decrying' the memo that was leaked and eventually fired the campaign staffer. Funny how the msm didnt play that up. Or were u just not paying attention?

Bill: 'I'm not going to play your games'
Posted: Tuesday, April 22, 2008 11:48 AM by Mark Murray
Filed Under: 2008, Clinton

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli and NBC's Mark Murray
At the Jewish Community Center in Pittsburgh this morning, Bill Clinton took questions from local press after shaking a lot of hands. NBC/NJ asked him about the WHYY radio interview in which he said the Obama camp was playing the race card. Below is full transcript of the back-and-forth:

NBC/NJ: "Sir, what did you mean yesterday when you said that the Obama campaign was playing the race card on you?"

CLINTON: "When did I say that, and to whom did I say that?"

NBC/NJ: "On WHYY radio yesterday"

VIDEO: See this exchange between Bill Clinton and NBC/NJ.

CLINTON: "No, no, no. That's not what I said. You always follow me around and play these little games, and I'm not going to play your games today. This is a day about election day. Go back and see what the question was, and what my answer was. You have mischaracterized it to get another cheap story to divert the American people from the real urgent issues before us, and I choose not to play your game today. Have a nice day."

NBC/NJ: "Respectfully sir, though, you did say ..."

CLINTON: "Have a nice day." [continues shaking hands with supporters]. I said what I said, you can go and look at the interview. And if you'll be real honest, you'll also report what the question was and what the answer was."

NBC/NJ: "They asked you if you regretted your comparing Jesse Jackson to Barack Obama on the day after the South Carolina primary."

CLINTON: "And I pointed out that I did not do that, and that I complimented them both. And that Jesse Jackson took no offense. And I called him myself, I said, 'Did you find that offensive?' And he said no.

Again, here is what Clinton told WHYY.

INTERVIEWER (RE: Jackson comment): "Do you think that was a mistake, and would you do that again?"

CLINTON: "No. I think that they played the race card on me. And we now know, from memos from the campaign and everything, that they planned to do it along.

I once thought of Bill Clinton as one of our better presidents. Now I think of him as the loud-mouthed spouse of Cruella Clinton.

The can both go back to Chappaqua and continue to monetize their lack of integrity.

Bill needs to remember when he's mic'd. If you turn up the volume in the last 5 seconds you can hear him say "I don't think I should take any sh*t from anybody on that, do you?"

Posted by: Justin | April 22, 2008 2:14 PM

That just about sums up Bill and Hillary, funny we did not get tears as well, and Bill's bad language at the end on live radio was another example of how low the Clinton's have turned this into the "Gutter Campaign" - Lies just trickle off the tongue and then we just are expected to laugh them off!

I HOPE the Voters of Pennsylvania have not been hoodwinked into keeping this race alive.

Just go away, Bill! Just go away and take that wife with you! The people are sick of you thinking you are the center of the political universe. Your true colors have been exposed along with your wife.

Posted by: lee | April 22, 2008 2:09 PM

What memos is Bill Clinton talking about? I've been following election news and haven't heard anything about them.

Posted by: KRM | April 22, 2008 2:02 PM

Ha ha, here's another Clinton classic! They pull a lowlife deed and then try to project it onto Obama. Sorry Bill and Hillary, most of us know you're liars. Just think, you're approval rating is beginning to match that of Bush's. Maybe you can share his legacy.

Posted by: Mike McNally | April 22, 2008 2:01 PM

Now, now Slick;

You can always be America's first Black President!

In your Mind! ;~)

Truth, Barack Hussein's actually 51% WHITE! :-(

Anne Kornblut's article begins with, That's his new take on the controversy involving his remarks ahead of the South Carolina primary."

Just the way the article is framed makes it highly prejudicial. Aren't there anymore real journalist out there? Journalist's that are not in the tank for Obama. The rest of the article reads true, but the beginning is a spiteful reminder of media bias.
