With Bingaman Endorsement, Obama Takes Senate Support Lead
By Jonathan Weisman
Sen. Barack Obama officially pulled ahead today in the scramble for endorsements from colleagues in the U.S. Senate, thanks to Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico.
Never one of the Senate's most high-profile members, Bingaman now has a claim to political fame: He put Obama over the top after his long slog to catch Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who had a head start in winning the support of her peers. Obama now has 14 endorsements to Clinton's 13.
Obama will also get the vote of Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), who has not officially endorsed him but said he will support Obama at the convention in deference to his state's voters. Clinton has a similar pledge from Sen. Barbara Boxer of California.
"Our nation faces a daunting number of critical challenges: reasserting America's leadership in the world, meeting our needs for energy independence, addressing global warming, making healthcare accessible and affordable, positioning our economy to effectively compete globally, and extricating ourselves from the war in Iraq, to name a few," Bingaman wrote in his endorsement announcement. "To make progress, we must rise above the partisanship and the issues that divide us to find common ground. We must move the country in a dramatically new direction."
Of course, Clinton can still flip the endorsement balance back in her favor: Not counting Clinton, Obama, and the Senate's two Democratic-leaning independents, 18 Democratic senators still have yet to endorse.
A full list of endorsements by senators follows the jump:
Obama:
Sen. Bob Casey (Pa.)
Sen. Kent Conrad (N.D.)
Sen. Chris Dodd (Conn.)
Sen. Byron Dorgan (N.D.)
Sen. Dick Durbin (Ill.)
Sen. Tim Johnson (S.D.)
Sen. Edward Kennedy (Mass.)
Sen. John Kerry (Mass.)
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.)
Sen. Patrick Leahy (Vt.)
Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.)
Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.)
Sen. Jay Rockefeller (W.Va.)
Sen. Jeff Bingaman (N.M.)
Clinton:
Sen. Evan Bayh (Ind.)
Sen. Maria Cantwell (Wash.)
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.)
Sen. Daniel Inouye (Hawaii)
Sen. Blanche Lincoln (Ark.)
Sen. Bob Menendez (N.J.)
Sen. Barbara Mikulski (Md.)
Sen. Patty Murray (Wash.)
Sen. Bill Nelson (Fla.)
Sen. Mark Pryor (Ark.)
Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.)
Sen. Debbie Stabenow (Mich.)
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.)
Two senators, Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, and Barbara Boxer of California, have said they will vote at the convention for the candidates chosen by their states, Obama for Feingold, Clinton for Boxer.

Don't let the Lush Rambo listening war-loving HRC for nominee nutcases get under your skins. Dems must unite.
50 percent plus of the posters are fake Republican-inspired attempts to divide Dems.

Thanks for the list.
I am going to hold them all accountable because Obama isn't going to win the general election. A demographic Democrats need is women, and the media bias and good old boys in Washington have interfered enough. Clump that together with the offended voters from Mi and FL and Obama isn't going to make it.

Now this made me laugh. Women will fall into line behind of Obama for the general. Not because they love him but because of his two silent running mates.
You know them, they're Roe and Wade. Now with these two plus the grim reaper being on speed dial of at least three liberal/moderate supremes the Shoulder Pad Feminists know that a McCain win means the end of Roe V. Wade.
So what do you think these Hillary Supporters want more? Do they what to have their big Whine and Cheese party or do they want to keep a women's right to choose?

I feel sorry for those Senators that have endorsed Obama in the recent past. They will be held responsible for supporting a radical socialist that surrounds himself with America hating friends that seems to have little use for the white race.
I would love to see the mainstream media ask each of those Senators just what is it about Obama and his radical views that they admire the most. Obama is an empty suit that only sounds credible when he is delivering a prepared speech that has little substance.

to Republicans for O'bama (which is really difficult to believe):
"The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 (S. 2590)[1] is an Act of Congress that requires the full disclosure of all entities or organizations receiving federal funds beginning in fiscal year (FY) 2007 on a website maintained by the Office of Management and Budget. This bill was introduced by Senator Tom Coburn, for himself and Senators Barack Obama, Tom Carper and John McCain on April 6, 2006 [2] and passed unanimously in the Senate on September 7, 2006 and was passed in the House on September 13, 2006. The bill was signed into law by President George W. Bush on September 26, 2006.[3]"
Apparently, Sneator McCain was also one of those to introduce this bill and your evil President Bush signed it into law.
The next bill is just an expansion of the Nunn-Lugar bill passed previously.
The Immigration Reform bill that luckily DIDN'T PASS, was just amnesty for illegals and would have cost the USA billions and surrendered to Mexico, entiende?!
Bottom line is, O'bama is an afro-centric Marxist and keeps company with racists (Wright, Farakhan,etc..), domestic terrorists (Ayers, Dorn, etc..), and shady characters (Rezko), and has a question about whether he is some kind of sleeping Muslim.
He is not now or ever POTUS material.

As an Oregon registered Independent, I have been following the running online commentary about the presidential race for several months. We will be having our closed primary in May. Tomorrow is the last day to change registrations to be able to participate in either of the party primaries and I have considered giving it a shot. Here are the conclusions I have drawn:
1) Reverend Wright is not on a ballot.
2) Bill Clinton is not on a ballot.
3) None of the candidates has significant administrative experience outside guiding their own campaigns.
4) None of the candidates has significant business experience.
5) All of the candidates have governmental plans that will add to the national debt.
6) The Obama campaign followed the path of Jimmy Carter, out-organizing opponents very early
7) The Clinton campaign took strong advantage of name recognition
8) The McCain campaign is taking advantage of the Democratic in-fighting
9) The Obama campaign is largely counting on the youth, well-educated, and black minority now and into the fall.
10) The Clinton campaign is largely counting on women, the elderly and blue-collar workers now and into the fall.
11) McCain is focusing on the fall and seeks votes from all the same.
Hmm. I think I will sit out the primary. As an older white male with a white collar job no one seems to want my vote anyway. Ditto for the fall.

I am not American...I am African....but Yes I think Obama would be the best candidate...not that my opinion matters but hey....one person has repeatedly posted (SHOUTED!!) on this blog.....WHY DO THE NEOCONS SUPPORT CLINTON??? ask yourselves WHY WHY WHY DO THE NEOCONS SUPPORT CLINTON.....??? Is it that she will be VERY BEATABLE next to McCain? Or Are they Racist?? (God forbid...) or do they know stuff about Clinton that would make the devil quake in his boots....(thats if he has them)???OR Is it because she represents the "samE 'ol same 'ol ESTABLISHMENT(America ruled by two families in the past 20-24 years???.....come to think of it...that sounds like many African countries I know....Families...presidents clinging to power.....thinking they are the best for the job...NO WONDER THE GREAT BIG AMERICA IS SLIDING SLOWLY BUT STEADILIY INTO RECESSION.....JUST LIKE THE AFRICAN COUNTRIES MENTIONED ABOVE) I have been thinking lately.....these same (republicans)REPUGS??? as you call them sometimes could very well run a campaign based on change against Hillary(from one family dynasty to another come November if she is the nominee....and with all the stuff they know about her....need I say more?? THINK! AMERICANS!! THINK AGAIN! WHY DO THE NEOCONS SUPPORT CLINTON??? WHY!!!! THINK LONG AND HARD.....THEN VOTE...YOUR GREAT NATION DEPENDS ON IT! Wright is nothing more or less than an excuse for folks to oppose Obama who don't want to admit the real reason. Whatever does it matter what Obama's minister says? What matters is what Obama says as compared to what McCain says and that is clear -- MCain is Bush III, with eternal war and recession forced by borrowing from the Chinese to support tax breaks for the wealthiest and for the oil companies. Obama will change that. What do the rantings of some snake-handling minister have to do with anything important? It's just another Rovian swift-boat diversion so that the feeble minded and closet racists can find a reason to keep destroying themselves and their children's future. And, as it worked enough to get the worst president in US history re-elected, I suppose we have to take it seriously. However, we don'thave to take seriously anyone who uses this excuse to oppose Obama -- they are what they are and should be identified as such. Wake up and smell the coffee, American voters -- you are once again being played for suckers by a meaningless wedge issue.

Dont you WANT to remember how often HRC changed her mind?
How often she lied?
What she voted for?
How often her husband lied?
Do you realy want a person like that to become your next president?
Obama is the most honest person in politics I ever saw.
If he becomes potus, the image of US will rise a lot in the world.
All these hateful writers here should ask themselves, wy US is one of the most disliked countries in the world right now.
One of the reasons are all these lies from Bush, Cheney, Condi and so on.
And the fact, that US claims to figt for freedom and human rights, hiring at the same time private companies for torture.
Accusing other countries an GUANTANAMO, WATERBOARDING
....

The election in Pennsylvania
Obama stared the campaign very late while the other candidate camped with her family and cosines there for months.
He was not a known figure in the US politics for more than 16 years but she was.
He made it clear at the beginning of the campaign that he wanted only to narrow the gap not to win.
His opponent prepared a trap "interview"...debate? to dig out mistakes and make it a big issue...the way it was conducted was unjust
In my opinion with a thousand advantages she had, she underperformed by scoring only 9 points over him.
She announced the outcome of the vote way before it was counted and hurriedly asked Obama why he could not win...How she could be so sure, before the vote was counted, that she could win? I thought she was rehearsing that phrase...and it came out of her mouth unexpectedly.
She talks about experience but experience sometimes is a disadvantage causing to blind people not to see new ways of doing things while keeping them to follow the same track...Since she has been more than 16 years in that US politics she is already addicted to the current political system and she can never be any better than she was...
It is not her experience that keeps this country safe or helps her to lead this big nation but the art, insightfulness and hope; otherwise the job is mostly done by intellectual people of all professions and walk of life surrounding the president. There are more wise and experienced people in the senate than either of the candidates. Here experience in working with existing system can have a totally negative role in the change a country demands....
Hilary has far less than a gentle personality. A candidate who put herself as a secretary by talking about how to pick up a phone call can never be an insightful leader...I think the job is more than that
On many respects, I really admire Obama better than his opponent

We really love the idea of change where a closet radical, married to a black separatist, associated with a domestic terrorist, inspires love from Islamic terrorists, despises Middle America, and of course, attends an anti-American "church" led by a hate-filled, radical bigot. No thanks, you can keep that change.

Obama will be our next President. Get used to it people. Fortunantly for our nation, there are enough bright people who will take the time to look beyond what the media is pushing and find out the truth about Obama. Superdelegates likely already know the truth about the guy. Hillary, on the other hand, has embraced the opposite of truth, has lied and proven herself and her character as not trustworthy.
The media can only cause people to speculate about Obama. But we know for a fact that Hillary is a liar. That's an easy choice.

The Hoping Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, is now thinking of going independent. When will Our American friends understand it is about Clinton power and ego? I would hope the people of America have the final say, although the supreme court sure did put a hex on the lower class by demanding identification when voting. It really depends on what type they want, but really suspicious of us white folk to have this happen at such a crucial time.
Your Canadian Friend, always.

Obama vs CLinton
COMPARISON OF POSITIVES MISSING FROM THE DIALOGUE

Joined Republican Chuck Hagel of Nebraska in introducing legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.
Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program providing one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.
Obama has made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The trip focused on strategies to control the world's supply of conventional weapons, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction as a first defense against terrorist attacks.

Hey James Callahan I have news for you. Hillary did NOT win Florida or Michigan because candidates were told NOT to campaign and NOT to put their names on the ballot. But she did, because she's a cheat. Edwards was still in the race at the time and he didn't put his name on the ballot or campaign in either, just like Obama. HILLARY DID NOT WIN FLORIDA OR MICHIGAN. Instead, like so many other things in her life, SHE IS TRYING TO STEAL THE "WIN."
Posted by: crazycallahan | April 28, 2008 11:24 PM
Thank you, Jeff Bingaman, for helping the nation turn the page for its better angels. Hillary Clinton, as with the Bosnia sniper fire delusion, suffers from a fantasy that she is the front-runner, and with her forever shifting goalposts, her new loony math and kitchen-sink-sewer, failed and bankrupt campaign, wants Obama to give her FREE AIR TIME to debate her for the TWENTY-SECOND time. I am a feminist older than Mrs. Clinton and as an American patriot, I need to do the right thing and tell Mrs. Clinton and sex-addicted impeached Bill, shut up already! The Clinton dynasty has been spoiling not just Obama's race in November but also the entire Democratic Party and its representatives'--congressmen, governors, district officers, mayors, etc, etc--ability to win in future elections. Bill is fighting Obama to return to the WH for a third term, and Obama has been fighting not just two Clintons (both playing every dirty card in politics) but also the GOP and the mainstream media who want to see the contest continue and their high ratings maintained. To claim Senator Obama is not electable because he is black is to say that only white Americans, like Bill and Hillary, can become President, as they have for over 200 years. No Native, Hispanic, or Asian American need apply as well. Is this what we want for our republic? Senator Obama MUST denounce and reject Hillary's shameless agenda, to gain free public airtime off his back. He MUST stop treating Hillary as an older white woman like his mother and therefore to be respected, and show her for the corrupt (25 million dollars gained from influence peddling last year alone), lying (Bosnia sniper fire), bullying (Judas name-calling), ruthless (just look at her ads), unelectable (highest negatives ever in a presidential candidate, and negatives increasing every day) small human that she is. He MUST begin to draw the contrasts in campaign tone, character, and track record on community work and protection of our constitution that show Hillary as the base fear-mongering, saber-rattling candidate that she is. Senator Obama is not a white candidate, he is not a black candidate. He is our American candidate and he will open to door for ALL of US to be equal, without having Hillary keep us down in her plantation labor quarters.

Jeff Bingaman, the world is going to stop turning. Bingaman has on great quality, he will go with what ever makes him the most popular. Even if it means supporting a less than qualified person... the same with the programs. if the Democratic party tells him to do something he will! or he won't be reelected. go with the flow Jeff. don't do anything that might imped your reelection.

Hillary needs to ditch to lame loyalist losers running her campaign, the same fools who ruined her campaign lead (and her chances) are now telling her to rip the party in half. How will that help her in the future or any of her clan?
I will not vote for the Clinton-team in any future election if they tear the Democratic party in half.

Before Obama counts his eggs, he better make sure he doesn't follow a pattern of disenfranchsing millions of voters. Michigan and Florida voted for Hillary and those millions of voters need their vote counted. Disenfranchising them because of tecnhical details will not matter in November. they will remember they were disenfranchised. They will remember that their votes were not counted. We will remember.

Lucy,
You should read the entire article in the Los Angeles Times about Obama taking money($112,000) in exchange for writing a letter to help Blackwell get $320,000 in state grants. It's a lot more serious than you think. Watch this become an issue in November.

Lukewarm: "If you are going to make bold statements, back them up."
Believe me, I hear what you are say all too well. But this is politics; it isn't about thinking, or proving, or anything of the sort. Colbert coined the phrase "truthiness," i.e., if it feel right than it must be right. Thus, a fact to these people is whatever they want it to be. Fact, evidence, or anything contrary to their position is merely opposition spin regardless of validity.
Look, I hate it as much as you do, but sometime we just have to concede that some people will believe whatever, whenever, and wherever they want.

Care to leave an example with actual research, or are you just as much a talking head as these retards on cable TV?

To those of you who think this is 'over' if and when Obama becomes the nominee - the latest AP polls show Clinton beating McCain by 9 points (50-41) and Obama beating McCain by only 3 pts (46-44). This should be worrisome to the DNC the undecided superdelegates.
Oh, and using profanity when referring to my candidate ensures I will not vote in November if she does not win the nomination.

Clinton is PURE, DISTILLED EVIL.
Obama is just another well intentioned Socialist who is dedicated to the traditional DNC values of race and class warfare. He'll make everyone equally poor and miserable. But even I kind of like him.
Too bad his Minister just crashed and burned any chance he had.
Get up at the National Press Club and mock JFK? Way to go there, Jerry!
But what mild mannered, middle class white America really noticed is the huge Black audiance cheering wildly.
Trust me, THAT got our attention.
You Leftards are going to do us all a favor by destroying your party and STILL win because you've made everyone forget that Qwai Chang McCain is a DEMOCRAT!

Is this the same list of Senators that will not allow us to be oil independent? That will not allow us to drill in Anwr? That will not allow oil exploration off the coast of Florida while both Cuba and China are doing it off our own coast?
The same group of Senators that continue with "Earmarks"? The same that insisted on ethanol mandates even though they were told it would hurt the food supply?
Are we talking about the same group of Senators?
Oh, yes... and they're all democrats too.

"We the people" would have been better off with men of honesty like Obama. Throughout our who GD history, there would'nt have been "air raiding" of Mexico City or even a Battle of Little Beghorn. He wouldn't do that. Had he been FDR, the Germans would not have bombed Pearl Harbor becuaws he would have talked with them ahead of time. When did FDR ever talk, I mean really talk with Hitler and all those guys? Pearl Harbor was our Chicken coming home to roost! And World War I? General Flapjack Pershing would have never gone "over there" - not our problem. There wouldn't have been "No Irish Served" signs in New York City. How would he have done it all you ask? Don't worry just vote for his magical honest personification of all that is good. Trust him and hometown Chicago politics, he'll figure it out - he's the new candidate for change. Hillary is the Senator from New York that was born in Illinois and Barak is the Senator from Illinois that was born in a manager.

While I watch Hillary and Obama battle it out we should not forget that the Republicans are running the oldest person ever to run for the presidency, a guy who is in favor of keeping the tax breaks given to the wealthy by Bush, the tax breaks given to big business in capital gains taxes. This is the guy who said that we should get gas tax money back this summer because the poor people have older cars that use more gas. Is he kidding? The people in Hummers and Porches are the wealthy class sucking the blood out of the middle and lower classes. McCain is out of touch with reality. The Republicans brought us Iraq, Katrina, Kyoto Treaty on Global Warming, Oil price runups while Bushes chums are in power. McCain is DOA!

Let's see. Obama has raised 3 times more money than Clinton and his donors are small from individuals and Clintons are large from the corporations that own her.
Hillary has raised three times the money as John McCain and his donors are even larger from corporations.
At a minimum, that would mean that based on money raised, Obama has 300% more supporters that Clinton and 600% more than McCain.
And some idiot thinks Obama is going to be "crushed in the general election"? That is funny.

Obama's candidacy is a challenge to America. Embracing it,or rejecting it will tell more about America's readiness to face the 21st-century challenges than about the candidate himself. He's a complex candidate for a complex country and a complexer world. His intellectual sophistication and quiet strength run deep and are an asset to the nation.

Why do you think hillary is going to steal the election? obama has had it his way for far to long the media has given him a free ride and the minute someone questions him on anything he brushes it off and says people aren't interested in it.You mean noone is interested if their president is corrupt?or that it looks like it with all the connections to corrupt people ?why is their a chain of people who are all linked to obama with donations and then they get on boards , get contracts, get jobs for a son of a donater? when you look at the rezko trial and see all these people are up on charges of corruption , money laundering, etc and obama's name has been linked to these people over and over again and cnn has still refused to comment.can you imagine, if clinton had been doing this she would have been trown out of the contest.if the media had done there job and vetted obama early on this would not have been the way things are now. now people are dug in and they are going to be stuck with an unelectable guy as their nominee and i blame the democratic party for doing this because they must follow the news and don't care as long as the clintons are out. too bad as a canadian i feel safer for america and our country with a stong leader like clinton who knows the world and how to fix the country.

Obama's former Pastor has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he does not represent Obama's way of thinking. He is a law unto himself..and on that basis, the Dems need to think carefully before denying themselves of an innovative and inspiring leader - in Barack Obama - who can bring about real change to the USA and to the world at large. Barack Obama is an inspiration to all mankind!
Posted by: Abk | April 28, 2008 7:56 PM
bobby sue, your analogy is as dumb as your name. the japanese attacked us while they were a part of the axis powers (NOT the axis of evil that GW mentioned that I am sure made you want us to believe we're in WWIII), and were aligned with germany. in addition, the germans attempted to invade the US on June 13th 1942 when they dropped off a group of spies via U-boat in amagansett on long island , who then made there way to new york city before thankfully getting turned in.
FDR did not serve in the military, but he never labeled himself a "war president" or a "true military president." Another difference between FDR and GW? FDR lead the country out of a depression, GW's 8 years has come pretty close to leading us back into one.
As for your if Wright was white comment... you are correct about the double standard, yet based on your ignorance of the facts in other issues you discussed, you are probably ignorant in that matter as well and believe everything that is said on tv becuase it's on tv or that everything your preacher said is right.

In all, since entering other 1096.
An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made public. The Media Machine has full access to this ready and available common information, but would never bring it to the mainstream news. Why?
And you think the media is giving him a pass..
We now know not..
He's not just a talker.
He's a doer.

I think hillary would make the best president. Ihave heard rev. wright all this weekend and today and i can tell you it is unacceptable that anyone would want to have children raised in such a church. The tone and anger is just not a loving invironment for a church. it also shows almost word for word what obama is always saing in his speeches and michelle's comments about barack wants to change your thoughts and is going to change you.obviously wrights words have been affecting obama in everything he speaks of , and it chills me to think he will be president, and with his corrupt associates it is just too much!

Hillary's List of Lies
By Dick Morris
The USA Today/Gallup survey clearly explains why Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) is losing. Asked whether the candidates were "honest and trustworthy," Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) won with 67 percent, with Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) right behind him at 63. Hillary scored only 44 percent, the lowest rating for any candidate for any attribute in the poll.
Hillary simply cannot tell the truth. Here's her scorecard:
Admitted Lies
• Chelsea was jogging around the Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. (She was in bed watching it on TV.)
• Hillary was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. (She admitted she was wrong. He climbed Mt. Everest five years after her birth.)
• She was under sniper fire in Bosnia. (A girl presented her with flowers at the foot of the ramp.)
• She learned in The Wall Street Journal how to make a killing in the futures market. (It didn't cover the market back then.)
Whoppers She Won't Confess To
• She didn't know about the FALN pardons.
• She didn't know that her brothers were being paid to get pardons that Clinton granted.
• Taking the White House gifts was a clerical error.
• She didn't know that her staff would fire the travel office staff after she told them to do so.
• She didn't know that the Peter Paul fundraiser in Hollywood in 2000 cost $700,000 more than she reported it had.
• She opposed NAFTA at the time.
• She was instrumental in the Irish peace process.
• She urged Bill to intervene in Rwanda.
• She played a role in the '90s economic recovery.
• The billing records showed up on their own.
• She thought Bill was innocent when the Monica scandal broke.
• She was always a Yankees fan.
• She had nothing to do with the New Square Hasidic pardons (after they voted for her 1,400-12 and she attended a meeting at the White House about the pardons).
• She negotiated for the release of refugees in Macedonia (who were released the day before she got there).
With a record like that, is it any wonder that we suspect her of being less than honest and straightforward?

Wait and see, Mrs. Clinton will steal the nomination. The superdelegates are bought by the same lobbyists who have bought Clinton. I had hoped to come back to the Democratic Party, but there's no way that's going to happen with the Clintons. The Clintons have always used other people to do their bidding. Then the other people get shafted. But unfortunately people never seem to learn. They'll do it again. I wanted to vote for Obama, but I believe that I'm going to have no choice by McCain. McCain is not bad. I would feel much more comfortable with him than Mrs. Clinton, who, I am convinced is insane. The paranoia, the outrageous lies, the divisiveness. I don't think she has a firm grip on reality and I do not want her in there. I shudder to think of what she'd do with the Patriot Act.

Since the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (outlawing workplace discrimination
against women and minorities) women have made substantial progress. This is perhaps
no more evident than in the U.S. Senate where there are no less than sixteen members
of the female gender. Most of these Senators could probably be described as being
self-made politicians. They have advanced by utilizing their own abilities and political
skills and most Americans are proud of the diversity that they bring to that august
legislative body.
Of course it could be argued that a certain presidential candidate who is a former
first lady does not fit that description: of being a substantially self-made politician.
But then again she still might have become a Senator from New York even if she had
opted to get out of that dysfunctional marriage as many other women may have
chosen to do: in similar circumstances. However, as is well known, things did work
themselves out in that marriage.
It should be pointed out, nonetheless, that a certain Rev. Jeremiah Wright played a
part in providing the spiritual guidance that kept that presidential marriage from falling
apart. One wonders if he ever received a personalized thank you note for his efforts?
But there are many women of all ages and races, who are struggling to pay the
cost of college tuition for themselves or their daughters, who would love to get a
heads up on financial opportunities: especially in the securities and the futures
market. Why doesn't the Senator from New York share with her supporters
the investment and/or speculative techniques that she and her advisers used to
turn a $1000 investment into a $100,000 windfall. That is a 100 fold multiplication
of her original wager (or investment)!
Even if the typical woman (or man for that matter) puts up a thousand dollars and
it is only multiplied by a factor of ten, then she will still be able to pay a lot of her
daughters' (or sons') tuition with the extra $9000.
Hopefully we are not grasping at straws here and it turns out that the presidential
candidate has forgotten the details of the financial magic that she (or her advisers) used
in that astonishing financial achievement: just as she forgot (and therefore mis-spoke)
about the real extent of the "sniper fire" in Bosnia.
With the price of gas approaching $5 a gallon, the stock market collapsing as a
result of the sub-prime loan scandal, a voter can't be blame if she or he dreams
of getting a good tip on the cattle futures or the stock market.
One can only wonder about what condition the economy will be in when our troops
from Iraq and Afghanistan (many of whom have been under real sniper fire) finally
get back home.

gene, you rock! Thank you for saving me a lot of trouble by saying (at 5:14) exactly what I was thinking (except I wouldn't have used the word "boobery" - are you British?).
It's funny that more educated Democrats support Obama, yet the majority of those who oppose Obama suggest that supporting him is some kind of mindless, cult-like activity. It's really the opposite. He's asking us to wake up and take responsibility for our government - for our country. That makes sense to us, so we're doing it. Where's the Kool-Aid in that?

HRC can not win and she looks to be willing to take the democratic party down with her, in the general election.
Nor can Obama win now.
Can someone/anyone show me where HRC positives (among voters) is higher than her negatives? Blacks and college age students will stay home instead of vote for her. My hope is that they do not stay home for future elections.
It is clear the HRC does not want Obama to win so she/they are poisoning the well and setting up any lost of the Presidency because of his campaign.
Because of HRC (or because Obama choose to run) we have lost the Presidency so our democratic hope left is to expand the Senate and House.
The question now is which candidate does the best in that area.
I started this contest supporting both (sent both money) and moved to Obama. Now I do not care about the Presidency and am working for a senate candidate.

An awful lot of people seem to want to lay claim to being "True Americans." Like it or not, we are ALL true Americans. The sooner we get that through our heads, the sooner we'll get something done. Hilary's got a good agenda, but she has a terrible track record of creating enemies, lashing out, and bunkering in. All those great policy ideas are going to waste if the new president can't bring people together, including Congress. Obama has demonstrated he can do that with an unprecedented come-from-behind campaign by a relative unknown. And a campaign is the best harbinger of an administration. Hers: calculating, aggressive, pure politics. His: organized, strategic, and inspiring.
By the way: is anyone else disturbed that the first woman president would get there largely on the name and cache of her former president husband? What does that say to our daughters? Let's hold out for a self-made woman! Out with the dynasties!

I get so angry and bitter when I read about Obama Barack trying to intimidate a strong woman like Hillary. Hillary understands that it is the angry bitter leftists -- people who read firedoglake and are secure in their gender identity -- that are going to have the final say on who gets the nomination. After all, the reality-based-community is in tune with Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore and we know what is best for the rest of the country.

How do you guys seem to keep nominating very liberal candidates? At a time when a centrist has a great chance to win, you Democrats will nominate the most liberal candidate that you could field. You will get the result that you deserve.
Obama is a lightweight. He will be exposed more and more as time goes by. Rhetoric is not a replacement for deeds. And he is very short on deeds.

"vote for someone I don't trust to be President." lucygirl
Well, lucygirl,
all the recent polls show that 61% of the voters do not trust the Clintons. They have the highest negatives in any of the polls- especially among independents and Republicans.
Once the media starts focusing on her totally irresponsible threats of nuclear retaliation in the middle east- the remaining superdelegates will abandon the Clinton candidacy for good.
She pledged "massive retaliation" against Iran. She said that she would also adopt the same policy with regard to other countries in the region, not just Israel. "We will let the Iranians know, that, yes, an attack on Israel ... would trigger massive retaliation. But so would an attack on those countries [she mentioned by name the monarchies of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait] that are willing to go under the security umbrella and forswear their own nuclear ambitions."
In effect, Clinton was declaring her desire to create a military pact between the US and several of the semi-feudal oil sheikdoms. This would be a major commitment to increased US military involvement in the area. She went on to criticize the Bush administration from the right, saying that it "has failed in our efforts to convince the rest of the world that that is a danger, not only to us, and not just to Israel but to the region and beyond. "Completely obliterate" scenario? Even a Republican like Teddy Roosevelt had the good sense to SPEAK SOFTLY and carry a big stick. No major world leader today EVER makes statements like she did- not even George W. Bush. She's so insecure and anxious to prove her toughness that she votes to start ridiculous wars and follows that up with bellicose statements. Or maybe she just truly likes using the military, just like she enjoys using her dirty trick squads in her campaign.
Either way, it's sad that the Democratic party is having such a hard time deciding between a true Democrat and this wannabe Republican, at least on her matters of foreign policy.

Isn't it pathetic pondering on the inevitability of one of these three becoming president we are discussing chickens?
1. "Stewing Chicken" Hillary
Shes currently "stewing " over whom to get even with when she is denied the nomination
much as she did to the many women in Bill's life . (She enabled him, ladies, fathers, brothers!!)
2. "Fried Chicken" John McCain
That is left to the imagination and FYI, I am a Republican
3. "Chicken a la King" Barack Obama
I will say I think he's probably a nice guy well intended, but his coronation will be short-lived after the Nov. 4 results.
Gee, such limited choice
