Clinton Exuding Confidence
By Perry Bacon Jr.
South Bend, Ind. -- As Hillary Clinton continues virtually nonstop campaigning between North Carolina and Indiana, the candidate and her team are showing signs of increased confidence.
After spending weeks blasting Barack Obama at any potential opening, Clinton aides have spent the past couple of days privately rather gleeful about Obama's plight with his former pastor, though they've said little publicly. Asked at a press conference on Monday about the matter, the candidate quickly sidestepped Obama's relationship with Jeremiah Wright to blast Arizona Sen. John McCain, saying his condemnation of an ad being run by the North Carolina Republican Party that mentions Wright was not forceful enough.
"It's the gift that keeps on giving," noted one Clinton aide of Wright.
In recent days, Clinton's jabs at Obama have been gentle and often unnamed, far from her "meet me in Ohio" and "shame on you, Barack Obama" blasts on the eve of the vote in Ohio. She spent the weekend challenging him to debates, but even dropped that this week to criticize Obama for not supporting a temporary suspension of the federal gas tax.
Clinton aides think that even if the measure is a limited way to reduce gas prices, it allows the candidate to bash oil companies and cast her opponent against an idea that has political appeal.
Both candidates announced gains in the superdelegate battle today, and fresh endorsements pulled them dead even on Capitol Hill, where 97 lawmakers have backed both Clinton and Obama. The latest came from California Rep. Lois Capps, who is backing Obama.
Clinton continues to cast herself as the candidate of "solutions" rather than "speeches" in an implied criticism of Obama, but in a more mocking way than a sharp-edged tone.
"If all you had to do was show up in Washington and say 'let's change' I think Evan and I would have figured that out," she said in one stop in Indiana as she traveled there over the weekend with Sen. Evan Bayh.
Her operatives speak confidently about winning in Indiana. They are publicly playing down their chances of victory in North Carolina, but her schedule suggests otherwise. Clinton is almost spending as much time in the Tar Heel state as the must-win state of Indiana--as is her husband, who is campaigning extensively in rural towns in both states. Her aides think finishing only a few points behind Obama in North Carolina and winning in Indiana and other states in May could push her to a lead in the overall popular vote, even without counting votes in Michigan and Florida.
Ace Smith, Clinton's North Carolina state director, is repeating the campaign's mantra that a win in the Tar Heel State would be "the upset of the century." Clinton operatives in both Indiana and North Carolina are targeting independent voters in both states, believing a demographic that heavily favored Obama in early primaries is now shifting to the New York Senator. And the endorsement of Gov. Mike Easley of North Carolina added to the Clinton camp's sense of momentum there.
"He's a very popular governor," Smith said.
Clinton herself seems to be speaking more easily about two controversial parts of her presidential run: her personality and her husband.
"Now, I know there are some people who say, 'Oh my goodness, she is tough,'" Clinton told a crowd in Salisbury, North Carolina on Monday. "Well, if you'd had my life you'd be tough, too."
Asked at a press conference that day about her husband's role in the campaign, she said,
"I'm very proud of the role my husband is playing in the campaign. I think it's very helpful to have the only successful two-term Democratic president since Franklin Roosevelt campaign for me."
And in a more cosmetic change, Clinton's staff upgraded its travel from a 717 to MD-80 airplane. The former, smaller plane had a restroom only in the rear, forcing the Former First Lady to walk by the press corps every time she headed to the lavatory. The latter is more expensive to fly, suggesting the cash-strapped campaign may be in a slightly better financial situation.
Of course, many challenges remain for Clinton. Obama has an almost insurmountable lead among pledged delegates and in the popular vote and is gaining on Clinton's lead among superdelegates. Increasingly, the Democratic primary seems "demographically polarized" in the words of one of Clinton's staffers. White working class voters, older women and Latinos are sticking with Clinton, while the young, blacks and voters with college degrees side with Obama, a development that favors Obama in the long run, as he is already ahead and his base seems guaranteed not to abandon him.
And Clinton, who packed three fundraisers around four events on Monday in North Carolina, is still being vastly outspent in both of these key states by Obama, who almost never holds events to raise money because he is so effective online. The $300,000 Clinton raised in the Tar Heel State pales in comparison to what Obama raises many days without any effort.
And her negative ratings have spiked through the nomination process, making it harder to make her electability case to Democratic superdelegates.
But the New York Senator seems almost to be basking in the midst of an increasingly long campaign that has at times exhausted her opponent and her own staffers, who are constantly rotating on and off the road.
Comparing the campaign to a hiring decision, as she often does, Clinton told a crowd in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, "we've had the longest interview for any job."
But she quickly added, "I'm available and I would love to serve."

Hillary is obviously doing very well with people who were undecided. She is more electable, any body dispute this must live in fantasy!

NB: Most posts in support of Hillary are from GOP supporters that will not vote for her in November. They are just interested to keep the mud slinging to continue.
While the democratic strategist are hoping (probably foolishly as RAT-The said - but this guy is driven by hate for Obama that anything else) that this mud slinging will vet Obama and help him behind all controversies that may have about him.
But, if you understand supply and demand, the candidates position on the gas tax shows that, when it comes to economy, judgement is better than white house or prison experience.

NEVER HAS THERE BEEN AS LIBERAL A CANDIDATE AS BO. NEVER HAS A LIBERAL DEM BEEN VOTED IN AS PREZ. ONLY LEFT OF MIDDLES. McCAIN IS RIGHT OF MIDDLE. HILLARY IS THE ONLY ONE WHO WILL APPEAL TO MIDDLE AMERICA (OR McCAIN). OBAMA DOESN'T HAVE A SNOWBALL'S CHANCE IN HELL OR BEING OUR 44TH PREZ. CAN'T WIN WITH YOUTH/BLACK/RADICAL BASE ONLY. THEY ARE NOT THE MAJORITY.

So let me get this straight. Senator Obama named a border-line lunatic (Rev. Wright) to his African American Spiritual Advisory Board, after knowing him personally for two decades, but he claims he had no idea Wright was a lunatic.
Right.
Move over Obama. We have another candidate who engenders a hell of a lot more trust than you ever will. Her name is Hillary Clinton.

We are absolutely voting for Hillary Clinton in NC next week; and we cannot wait to do so.
No more Obama for us. The man is confused, indecisive and just not politically mature enough to run the country. He is also the ultimate panderer.
Wake up America!

Hillary: I opposed NAFTA. I opposed NAFTA. I opposed NAFTA. (shhh... hey Mark Penn, get that Columbia trade through quickly before someone notices it).
April 9,2008: Los Angeles Times.
"Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton pledged Tuesday to defeat a free-trade agreement with Colombia, even as her presidential campaign was kept on the defensive by disclosures related to the proposed pact.
Her camp acknowledged reports that Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton, supports the deal with Colombia. The New York senator's campaign also was hit by another call for the outright ouster of longtime aide Mark Penn."

Obama does not like giving gas tax to people. Why because he thinks it is too little of a change. Yes, this is again out of his ELITISTIC attitudes. ELITISTS have BIG mouths. They need lots of money. For a poor person saving a few dollars a week is plenty. For AN ELITIST unless it is a BIG amount, nothing makes sense to him. So HERE YOU GO>>>>>ELITIST..Mr. Obama.

Whatever the Obama supporters say, I am just glad that the onslaught of this attack on Obama was brought about by his own. It will go down as it should in history.

Obama needs to give it up, his past will still follow, just like a convicted felon's past, he nneds to close shop before he make our party lose the general election, Obama can dis-own his Pastor all he wants, he not going to wiggle his way out of this one for personal and political gain, the damage has already been done, it's too late for him now.
Wright is not through with Obama yet, because he has the goods on Obama, and for payback, Wright is going to continue to destory Obama's chances of becoming the nominee or the Presidency, this is what he gets for trying to be slick.

Lou, where do you get your information? Obama won Vermont on March 24. He also won the Texas 2-step, which was a combined caucus and primary process. So he won 2 on March 4 and she won 2.

Obama has the most pledged delegates and will continue to have the most. The voters will have spoken by the beginning of June and the superdelegates will follow. Obama 08. Not sure I want Clinton on the ticket, but would welcome her confidence, etc. as a VP.

Enough about Jeremiah Wrong. Jeremiah Wright sees the world through strange eyeglasses. He had his five minutes of fame. A wiser man might have known when to step off the stage. It is sad to see the continued media fixation on the activities of one foolish man, and the politically motivated attempts by the Clinton campaign to raise the specter of guilt by association against her opponent. Barack Obama is not Jeremiah Wright, and now all of us should understand that this minor political drama was never about race, or as some would claim "the Black Church." Rather, it was as Obama said, about the "ridiculous" and "appalling" views of one man, views he, Obama, does not share. Enough already of this foolishness.

It's getting hard to tell the Clinton supporters from the Bush supporters these days. They both seem to be loyal to a power crazed, corporate funded, compulsive liar; with a desire to drag America into conflict abroad and at home.
Time to end the Dynasty and interest of Washington. McCain or Obama at least would be a small shift away from the insanity of Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton.

How is Hillary going to change the face of politics? She is the face of American Politics. And boy is it unatractive. I am also sick of all those people who swear they will only vote for there guy and I do mean guy because there isn't a lady first or other wise in this contest. That is so stupid if you are such a Bush hater and feel they must go as we all keep hearing you know you will vote for the Democrat just shut up already its alway on the posts like their empty threat is going to get their guy the nomination. Whatever you sound soooo stupid when you say that. No way a die hard Dem is voting for a Rep. and for more war no way. Empty whinning threats.

Obama thinks he can outsmart voters. First he throws grandma under the bus (who paid for his Ivy League education), now his so-called "moral compass" and mentor Uncle Jeremia. Yet REv. Wright said it right:
"Obama will do what he does and say what he sayd...'cause he's just another Politician--Electability is what he seeks!"
Well said Rev. Wright.

GO, Hillary!!! Hillary is the best qualified candidate. She flew into Bosnia "under fire," she belted down hard liquor with the good old boys in Pennsylvania, and she won't hesitate to "obliterate" Iran. She never did get caught in the Savings and Loan Scandal. She made an over-night killing in the Commodities Market. She was there in the White House when they entertained campaign contributors who later ended up in jail, and she was there again during the famous last minute pardons Bill issued. That gal Hillary knows how to answer a phone at 3 AM in the morning. On the domestic front she's been cuckolded, and she stuck by her man setting a good example for her daughter and women everywhere. Hillary is just like one of the good old boys. What more could you ask for?

You need to know:
In 2007 when Sen. Obama announced his run for the presidency he consulted with Reverend Wright. Wright told him (Obama) that he may have to distance himself from the Rev. and perhaps the church during the race. Obama responded that he will do that if he has to.
This was a VERY calculated move by the Obama campaign and Rev. Wright to distance Obama from Wright's sermons and negative media attention BEFORE the general election so that Mccain cannot use this against him.
This is all an elaborate scheme (with Wright's wink-wink at the cameras) to put space between Obama and the reverend so that this does not dog him in the fall.
They are still as thick as theives, just not in the public's eye.
Is this who you want for president??? You watch, Obama gets elected and guess who will be at the White House dining next to him every night? On one side is his American white people hating wife....on the other side is Reverend Wright smoking Cuban cigars and laughing it up eating delicacies on our dime!!!!

"So if Senator Obama knew enough about Wright's statements to uninvite him to his presidential announcement, why did he later say he never heard such statements? Here is a fact of my own, these words are nothing new. They reflect who Rev. Wright is and who he has always been. It all comes down to honesty and believability. There is a lesson I assumed all politicians learned from Watergate, the cover-up is always worse than the original offense."

"The ongoing controversy over Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, appears to have damaged how Americans view Obama. His favorable rating is now 47 percent, down 7 percentage points since February when 54 percent had a positive view of him. As may be expected, his unfavorable rating went up from 33 percent to 42 percent today."
"The decline in Obama's favorable rating also is evident among Democrats: 63 percent have a favorable opinion now, down from 73 percent in February. For Clinton, 73 percent of Democrats have a favorable view of her, up from 71 percent."

Barack Obama is a good, decent man and will make a wonderful President of the United States. Remember he was young when he met Wright and the pastor is a charasmatic man. White people attend his church. They are all there to hear the Word of God. They, and Barack Obama believe in the love of Jesus Christ for his children. Let it go, for God's sake. Wright has seen a way to put himself in the spotlight at his parishiner's expense. Senator Barack Obama is a Christian, a leader among men and he wants to bring people together in the pursuit of peace and harmony. I pray he'll be given that chance, and that ignorance and irrational fear won't rob us all of the opportunity to send this very special human being to the White House.
As for Hillary Clinton, she's vicious, power hungry and will do anything to win. Anything. She's also a blatant liar. If Barack Obama had said he had to run across the tarmac to avoid sniper fire, and it was proven untrue as it was in Hillary's case, that would have been the end of his campaign. Of that, there's not a doubt in my mind.
God be with you, Senator Obama!

Obama is getting better, not worse. He did the right thing. Enough is enough. There are a lot of people out there including pastors who let their egos get the better of them: wright is one of them. As for Team Clinton eduxing confidence, they are always trying to put a brave face whatever the circumstances. They are going to "fight" forever that is the only thing they know to do, regardless of the political consequences. They are as selfish as the reverand. But this is a "fight" they have already lost.

Mr. Bacon, You must recognize also that Barrack Hussein Obama would not have all the popular vote if votes in earlier primaries had known about his problems with pastor, William Ayers, Rezko to some degree, and Obama's elitist attitude - all of which came about known at large to the general public only short three to four weeks ago. He won much of his prior victories when people were voting him simply being negative on Hillary, and simply because also Obama speech moved them. Now all of that is credited back to Hillary. It is a shameful and a very long process, may be rightfully designed. But then, superdelegates should and can balance the scale to who is more electable, and not weigh on 'tainted and false' results of the past.

Clinton Won't Be Deposed in Fraud Case before November
By Fred Lucas
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
April 29, 2008
(CNSNews.com) - A fundraising controversy involving Hillary Clinton's 2000 Senate run that has moved through California's courts for about five years probably will have no effect on the presidential race, given the latest court ruling.
Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz of Los Angeles ruled Friday that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), vying for the Democratic presidential nomination, will not have to be deposed in the fraud lawsuit brought by Hollywood businessman Peter F. Paul against former President Bill Clinton until after the November 2008 elections.

It is a fact that Iran currently has no nukes. They have no nuclear weapons program. So if tomorrow, they started working out in the open as hard as they could every day, it is still doubtful that they could muster even a single working weapon during even 2 terms of office (GOD FORBID!!!!). So the probability that they would, then, or really under any circumstances, attack Israel with nukes, is completely preposterous.
However, Hillary is SO hellbent on pleasing her ultra rightwing hawkish backers that she tore into the question about what she would do if Iran attacked Israel with nuclear weapons like a jackal going for carrion.
She did not even consider or address the fact that the question is moot, or that Israel HAS 200 nukes to repsond with, but instead answered with almost God like authority, promsing to kill every single living inhabitant of Iran. Not to respond immediately with overwhelming force. Not to neutralize their entire military infrastructure with great prejudice,
But to destry the entire nation and kill every single living man woman and child. To OBLITERATE them completely.
She gave the answer that she knows her backers want to hear, just as she voted for war with Iraq to make them happy as well. Just as she ardently supported the war agaisnt lebanon even after it was clear that it was a pointless bloodbath.
2 top officials at AIPAC, an organization that is a MAJOR HRC supporter both monetarily and politically, are on trial for espionage against the united states for illegally receiving classified intel on Iran with the intent using it to improperly foment war between the US and Iran. I am sure it must warm their hearts to know that their girl is out there carrying the torch of "Obliteration" that they been paying her so much to carry.

So she upgraded from a 717 to a MD-80 airplane and this is supposed to signify some sort of upswing? Congratulations, a politican that knows how to spend money on themselves.
Obama is still raising alot more money than she would ever dream, because he has tapped into a demographic that has ALWAYS been apathetic and lazy when it comes to politics: the late teen-early 20s crowd. People like to point to Howard Dean's campaign as a grassroots Internet phenomenon but Obama's is proving to be much more successful.
As for this going all the way to the convention, I have to say, fat chance. Parties would rather have sure footing as to who is nominated by the time of the convention rather than appear unsure or desperate.

Lewinsky is old news. And a symbol of what the Republican are willing to do to put a popular President away. The fact that he survives that and left the White House with 65%-70% populariy rating means he did the work that Americans hired him to do.
However look what happened with Bush during the last 7.5 years without Monica although rumors has it that he is doing somebody inside the WH as well?
Also Clinton left the White House with a Surplus of roughly 300 Billion and a Projected 3.9 Trillion Surplus in the years to follow but look what happened. We now have a HUGE DEFICIT and a National Debt of over 9.5 Trillion dollars. If anything this only shows us what kind of a mess we could be in when Americans hire the WRONG PERSON for the job.
Obama, a liberal by any measure is another untested candidate like Bush, that could only worsen the mess that we are already in today.
America please WAKE UP!!!

Had Billary stuck to the agenda of healthcare, I would not be this upset that she is still in it. It is his/her lack of morals and decency in this presidential quest that I find disgusting. Purposefully choosing words to widen the gap between the races has hurt the country tremendously(not that you two care) The old rhetoric of saying that "this is just the way the game is played" reflects how truly stagnate Billary are in their thinking. Shame on these two for adding gasoline in a time that people were feeling better about an African-American man running for office. Finally, Obama is not Jesse Jackson. He is Obama. A person who has been raised truly knowing two different races. He has the perspective and the respect. 58% find Hillary dishonest! Need I say more?
Posted by: Kathryn | April 30, 2008 1:49 PM
I think it is Obama who will obliterate Clinton. Billary will be gasping for air when they realize it is finally over. The Clintons, the GOP, and McCain have nothing on Obama other then the Wright issue that has been rehashed several times.
Americans have spoken; Wright is Wright and he is responsible for his own behavior and Obama is Obama. We live in a society where we punish the one who is guilty of the offense - that is if you consider some of the truthful things Wright said as an offense granted that some of his comments are unwarranted and unsubstantiated. He did an awful lot of good for humanity, how many of you critics can say that.
If we never criticize our government that is suppose to serve us faithfully, where will we be. Just think about the leaders of the former Soviet Union, Hitler and Saddam to name a few leaders where people could not criticize their government and a lot of atrocities were committed against innocent people. We should criticize our government, it is a healthy thing to do. Maybe we should have criticize Bush and Congress a lot more and we would not have been in this Iraq mess - this what happens when you blindly follow your leader like Clinton did.`

Rather than rally around a perfectly good candidate, Hillary Clinton, who was a shoo-in for the nomination a year ago, Obama has divided the party. He has distracted the country. He came in before his time.
I am keeping the faith that Hillary will still come out on top - because of the women who are for Hillary, the moms who are for Hillary, the doctors who are for Hillary!
Obama wasn't there to vote for or against the war, people!
I, as a citizen, also had faith in my president, George Bush, thinking he MUST know something if he is going to use force. It doesn't matter what you voted; it's too late! There is a mess in the Iraq and we must move forward.
The pastor who married Obama and baptized is children has the "wright" to say whatever he wants; this is America. But I doubt people are going to vote in the general election for a guy whose pastor sang, "If you have some white friends; they'll be clapping like this, y'all.." just a couple days ago.

Correction:
Obama knows he has weaknesses in certain areas or lack of experience. At least he knows that he can reach out to advisors for help. No president goes it alone. He is open and not stubborn like Bush and Hillary who nevers listens to advise. Hillary supported the war , she supported NAFTA. Bill Clinton opened the door for American jobs to go bye bye. She does not care about the working class. She never has. The blue collar workers remember when the economy was okay during Clinton years. That is the only reason they are supporting Hillary. She sat on the board of Walmart while Walmart was forcing Mom and Pop business to go under. Walmart is a predatory company. Look at all the goods they import from China puting American jobs at risk. Pastor Wright is just another looney egomaniac man hiding behind religion ,he is know different than Hagee , Falwell and Robertson. Look at McCain photos and count all the times you see the flag pin. Also turn over the flag pin and see where it was made. All my flag pins say made in China on the back. We don't even have companies here in the states that make flag pins.

Why do I have this funny feeling that Obama and Wright will embark in a calculated scripted drama of publicly hating and denouncing each other just to fool the American people and the voters but in reality they are very close to each other? As Wright would say, he'll do as a politician would do to win the nomination with the scorn of Wright to help Obama, but we know, we know... More Wright-Obama staged drama is about to enfold... Don't be fooled voters. We know they are inseparable.

Too bad the campaign has come to this. If we were voting among the 3 candidates left, McCain would have been a distant third. That is until number 1 and number 2 started killing each other.
I am a Republican, but would have voted for Obama over McCain.
The guilty-by-association tactics of all democracts and the last debate, which reminded me of a Jerry Springer show, have left a foul taste in my mouth. The trash-talking continues in boards like this all over the Internet - mostly among democrats. I do admire Obama's restraint in not bringing up all the questionable relationships in Billary's past, insider trading scandals, Whitewater, etc.
It would be nice to see Obama and McCain run against each other - they seem like two honorable men who would run dignified and civilized campaigns.

Btw, there are quite a lot of websites out there devoted to Hillary having a lesbian love (Huma, who even lived with Hillary) and Jennifer Flowers even said Hillary is a lesbian in her book. But, dear, I know those are just lies about Hillary. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to impugn either candidate in such a pathetic way.

Classic mistake. Hillary believed her own hype. Obama had a great strategy, flawless execution and the perfect message for the time. She didn't even know what hit her.
Let the Washington Press and the Right-wing nuts, cluck all they want. By failing to organize her campaign past the top level cocktail party power brokers, by failing to stand up to Bush on the Invasion of Iraq vote, she demonstrates that she's not executive material. Hillary is a great Senator, she should stay in the Senate and fight the vast right-wing conspiracy. The President need to lead the entire country.
It's all over. No one with a brain of any kind wants to see the Republicans continue to destroy America from the inside. Obama has the votes, the delegates, the message, the money and the executive leadership skills to be the next POTUS.
End the Drama! Go Obama!

Its over for Obama. The best thing for him to do is let Hillary be the presidential nominee and he can atleast be her VP candidate. Then when Hillary is the president doing all the hardwork, Obama can go around the country saying "Yes we can". Yes with Hillary as the president its indeed "Change we believe in".

Obama is a liability in more ways than one, the hope and change mantra, is empty, people want real change someone ready from DAY ONE, that person is HRC! THIS will really change the FACE of POLITICS! Let Wright and Obama and all his other leftists anti-American Marxists friends go back to the hole in which they crawled out of! WE NEED to SAVE this COUNTRY and SAY NO TO OBAMA AND HAMAS!
Posted by: Terri | April 30, 2008 1:25 PM
Hillary is battle-tested, savvy, experienced, and loaded with political determination.
That's what we need right now. We need it in a BIG way.
Obama is moonbeams and fairy-dust, and I would ask this question:
If Obama portrays himself as such an independent-minded, powerful visionary, then why wasn't he independent or visionary enough to condemn Rev. Wright's nonsense back in the days when he was sitting in the pew, soaking it all in?
If Obama feels so strongly NOW that Wright's words are ridiculous, why did he not have the "vision" to take his Pastor aside and say:
"Pastor Wright, I am a man of change and hope and vision. With all due respect, I cannot tolerate your brand of anti-American preaching and racist rhetoric. As a strong man of leadership and independent thinking, I ask you to reconsider some of your sermons, or I will seek another church for my family, because your views are repellent to me."
He never said this. He sat and listened. Obama indicated his acceptance of views he ~now~ vehemently repudiates by STAYING IN THE PEW. He admired this man's body of thought so much that he "borrowed" the 'Audacity of Hope' book-title from him.
This sort of willy-nilly contradiction, this paradox, is a serious blunder, and indicates exactly how "visionary" Obama truly is.
Clinton alone has a fair shot at winning the November election.
Obama alone has NO chance. He cannot capture the big states needed, he is woefully unprepared for the attacks that would slam him from the Republican side, and he has alienated America's working-class in a time of economic disaster.
I have a hunch that Clinton would gladly add him to her ticket as VP, because she sees the big picture, rather than a vanity parade. She knows that the Democratic Party MUST win this election to retain any sort of credibility in the face of the nation and world.
I also have a hunch that arrogant Barry would not accept a VP position, which shows that he does not see the big picture. And let's face it: being VP for a few years would certainly prepare him for future presidential elections that he could conceivably win.
Get your heads out of the sand, Democrats. This is your one, last chance. Blow this, and you might as well sell America (even more) to the Chinese and the Arabs.
If Hillary does not get the nomination, then I, as a Democrat, will vote for McCain. I have a feeling that I'm not alone.
Posted by: Iansky | April 30, 2008 1:24 PM
Agreed, Senator Clinton has gained the momentum after rows of wins in Ohio, RI, Texas and Penn. And this certainly gained great confidence.
Personally, I believe, its really important to have eperience, skill and knowldege to do the job. Just talking may get you a job but it wouldnt be possible to keep it. Just talks has no values.
Senator Clinton certianly the most viable candidate in this presidential race.
More than politics, taking sides, I would ratinally think and believe that Senator Clinton would bring the necessary changes in health care and economy which is really a serious cause at the moment in USA.

Guess what? Obama is not going to have enough delegates by June 3, to win. This race is going all the way to the convention floor, where Hillary is going to broker a win.
Obama *cannot* deliver the key, swing, bread and butter states like PA, OH, ,and FL, against McCain. That is now *readily* apparent.
The Superdelegates who jumped to Obama early - or jumped on his winning bandwagon to gain favor - are now SWEATING BULLETS!
Superdelegates can and WILL reverse their votes. Obama is SO over. Watch, and learn.

But if she is nominated they'll hang a replica of the Lewinski blue dress in every market square to remind you pro-clinton fools and others of the disgrace. So much for her electability! How many mothers do you think want to explain that about the presidency to their kids? The right course for America is to go with Obama and let the youthful energy, idealism of his campaign and his own unifying force and pragmatism to bring Republicans, Independents and Democrats together, for you and for America.

Obama is - right now - losing a LOT of rural independent votes. Those voters will not change their minds about him if he gets the Democratic nod.
Superdelegates, do your job! Obama is through as a viable candidate, and has already gone past the point of no return, down the Dukakis-Kerry road. He's *finished*.
The psychology of this campaign has suddenly changed, as Hillary has stayed on message, and patiently waited for more balanced coverage of her campaign. She is winning hearts and minds, and is now the *only* person who can beat McCain.
Obama has always been about ideas and rhetoric. He has not *actionable* experience to speak of, and it shows. Do I want someone who is still wearing his first year Senate diapers presiding over America at what is probably the most challenging time this country has ever faced? Absolutely not!
Hillary's moderate and independent supporters are FAR more likely to bolt to McCain, if Obama gets the nod. Thus, it even makes mathematical sense to put Hillary forward at the convention, as the Dem candidate.
GO HILLARY!!! Our next President!

Sally, so Barries 2 terms in the state senate and 2 years in the senate make him so experienced that we should just chance it because he wants CHANGE. Truthfully, Barry has not voted on enough issues for anyone to know what he truly stands for, and he has lied so many times during this campaign he has more than proven his word can no more be trusted than any other politicians. We the American people do, AT LEAST, know where Billary and McCain stand on the issues. To vote so blindly for an individual when we really have no clue and we are talking about the presidency seems absolutly insane. But, we did elect Bush twice, so there is no accounting for the amount of self delusion that the politicos can feed the American people.

The truth is, the Clintons were responsible for NAFTA, and while Hill can say "I was secretly against it back then," the reality is, it was the signature of the Clinton years. And it was her own campaign head, Harold Ickes, who as part of the DNC rules committee, stripped FL and MI of their seats. She agreed with him until she started losing, and she's trying to spin the fact that she wouldn't allow people who had voted GOP in the first MI vote to vote Dem in the revote as promoting a legitimate revote, when it's not b/c a lot of people knowing the original wouldn't count had switched over. And when people talk baggage, it's funny- Bill was almost impeached, Hill is being arraigned in a few months (not someone she knows but she herself)in the Paul v Clinton case, objects were stolen by the Clintons from the White House when they left, documents went missing, Hill obtained a criminal pardon for her brother's criminal friends, Vince Foster was murdered, Monica, Jennifer- the list goes on. It's just that Obama wanted to keep it clean so he didn't mention any of these, but the reality is nobody has more baggage and shadiness than the Clintons. The Clintons had even bombed Iraq, if anybody cares to remember. It was not a rainbow and unicorns peaceful time. Even Hill's claim to be active in the administration was proven false by the records; she started out strong, but when her health care efforts failed, she became another tea and tourist first lady. People even forget her outrageous lies and her constant smearing with the absurd excuse of preparing Obama for Republicans, as if that were her job. A former governor's wife and then the president's wife, Hill has 100 million dollars in her pocket and grew up well-off, to become a member of the head board of anti-Union Walmart- yet she pretends now to have any semblance of connection to grassroots America. From moving to NY, a state she never lived in, to take advantage of an easy election that would put a big state in her hand come 08, to her episodes of tears, to her whining about speaking first in debates and her willingness to put McCain above Obama, Hill has shown that she has been planning a long time for the throne that was her birthright. The only reason that the 90s was prosperous was because there was a computer, internet and technology boom which is now over. Even the concept of a president's wife now becoming president is inherently ridiculous- it smacks of royalty. Now, her campaign, badly managed, is in debt, and she's had to fire 3 top campaign strategists. She didn't even bother to read the Iraq intelligence reports when she voted to send our boys to war. There is simply, absolutely nothing that would make her qualified.

I just can't believe that the American people are so gullible. I can't believe they think Obama has a chance against the neo-con war machine. Once that machine gets rolling, every little issue such as the Reverend Wright, The Underground Avery, Why he chose a Muslim Name instead of the good old American Barry, Why he threw his Grandmother to the wolves (since she is a bigot), why he first never heard wrights sermons, then may have heard them, then never heard them. Lord he lies just like the rest of the politicos. To think that Obama has a chance is to be deluded. This is why the war machine is acting the way it does. By ignoring Hillary they are feeding the impression that Obama has already won, thereby trying to convince the superdelegates that Hillary has not got a chance. In truth, the Neo-cons do not want to run against the Clinton machine instead they want to be able to blast Obama out of the water, which they surely will do. If the Dimocrats want any chance in november they need to boot Obama as soon as possible.

You are not a flip-flopper, or a windsock, you don't try to fool us all by switching to what everyone wants to hear. You are the genuine article.
In a time when a man named Obama is trying to pull off the biggest Schmoozing of America in recent history, you are rock solid in your character and your commitment to the American people.
Hillary, no skeletons of 20+ years of hate and racism are jumping out of your closet to claw America in the face. No parlor jokes of demoting our American flag come from you.
Thank you Hillary for all your surprises are joyous ones, not ones that make a person think "wow I didn't know you supported that extremist person".
After months of standing your ground in the face of formidable odds, you have proven that you have got what it takes. No other presidential candidate has had the stuff shoveled on them like you have, and you made it through to the other side. You have shined through as the most tested Presidential candidate of the whole entire contest.
Thank you Hillary for allowing us to continue to have our individual GOD BLESS America. We are a nation with problems, but at the end of the day, Americans are full of heart, and at the end of the day, I know you'll be right there fighting for us.

No, my friend. Exuding Arrogance is the accurate descriptive.
Rev. Wright is on the take, and Hillary's people are paying for it. They set up the Press Club tour and that's a fact.
Hillary Clinton is just like her mentor Bush Jr. Full of lies and filthy, deceptive ways. A disgraceful person who has the blood of over 4000 US soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis on her hands.
She remains unrepentant.
She supports the war, the patriot act, the real ID act, and telecom immunity.

Before any of us throw stones, we should consider the state of this country. The reason we are in the economic situation we are in is due to the simple fact that we as Americans feed off of greed and hate. Calling someone names isn't helping the situation. We need a President for the people. We need to join together and make a serious change. This country keeps moving because of us hard working middle class Americans. It's not right that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer... that's not the "American Way". Or is it? America's roots are based upon men that did not want to pay their taxes. Now look what we have become. It's sad, no wonder other countries hate Americans. We are a country full of liars, hypocrites, child molesters, theives and murderers... yet we want to tell other countries how to live. Don't get me wrong, I would rather live in America than other country... but I think that we have some serious problems. Instead of name calling or threatening to move to Canada we should embrace the changes that Hillary and Obama are bringing to the forefront. We should be rioting instead of paying these high prices for gasoline. We should be dragging these oil executives out of their multi million dollar homes and skinning them alive. We all have to suffer while these people and our current President make a profit. Something is really wrong with that. Instead, America is apathetic and lazy and would rather call Democrats names over the internet. What a sad state of affairs.

Second, Obama pastor issue is superficial, at best. Hillary Clinton has SO much more negative baggage it is insane. Obama is just a better man for not bringing it up, because that is not what his campaign is about. YOu fail to see this and never will. Hillary Clinton will never be president.
How can you support this woman and have self-respect? That is not a rhetorical question. If you want to get into specifics about integrity and "judgement" as you put it...I dare you to list Hillary skeltons. I DARE YOU!

I live outside Asheville, NC. Last weekend I received a "push-poll" call which was incredibly inflammatory, inaccurate, and 100% pro-Clinton. The anti-Obama sentiment was not even vaguely disguised. Full of innuendo and mis-statements, an absolute flat-out attack on Obama. This under the guise of "polling research". A year ago I could have said "Hillary Clinton is an intelligent and admirable politician". I can no longer say that. I will put my money on the new kid: Obama.

If Obama can't even maintain a good relationship with his own pastor through the campagn what makes anyone think he can bring America together???

Obamas mess has nothing to do with Hillary. It has to do with his judgement for 20 years. You cannot speak about a man being your pastor and apart of your family and then when he shows he is a loon dieown him. What kind of judgement will he provide if he is in office? Not the kind I want. As mothers teach their children : You are or you become who you are with. Pick your friends wisely.
Pick your President WISELY.
Quick Refresher: This is why the democrats have Super Delegates. Now it is time for them to use their judgement.

Hillary Clinton will never be president.

Obama has the votes
Obama has the states
Obama has the delegates
Obama has the INTEGRITY.
If you STILL support Clinton and can do math....you might be an idiot.

The Clinton "debate" tactic is a ruse that all losing candidates use. It it essentially a death throe for Clinton. Obama need to focus on the general election and the Presdency, not some petty woman who just want to sling mud at his superficial flaws.

Hey jacksmith...
If you make silly straw-man arguements that were laid to rest weeks ago...
Yout might be an idiot. I'll wiat while you Google straw-man. Obama never said those things, therefore your nonsesne if just logival fallacy, as are all Clinton lover comments. Cherry-pick much?

This womans policies are so misguided. It is a shjame that women in general support simply because hse has a vagina. He polcies are disasters. Add to that the negative tone of everything she says, and it seems this woman is not the best choice for the President of the United States.
Hillary Clinton just launched another round of false attack ads in Indiana and North Carolina, and she's determined to continue her negative campaign until we close out the primary season. In the meantime, Obama needs to prepare tactics from Senator McCain, and get away from the negative dog-fight that Hillary is trying to draw him into. This is not what America needs.
Vote Obama.

Wow, the posts here solidify my position about HRC and her supporters.
I am not an idiot. I see through Hillary Clinton and her insipid, pathetic pandering. She will do or say anything to secure this nomination, and it's really evident just how desperate she is, particularly in Indiana.
Bullies never win in the long term. And Hillary Clinton will never be president.

DEBATE! DEBATE!! DEBATE!!!
It's time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.
Hillary Clinton seemed almost somber at her Pennsylvania victory speech. As if part of her was hoping Obama could have proved he had some chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources.
But it is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.
Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Mr. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.
Mr. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Mr. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton's have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.
If Mr. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.
Sen. Hillary Clinton: "You know, more people have now voted for me than have voted for my opponent. In fact, I now have more votes than anybody has ever had in a primary contest for a nomination. And it's also clear that we've got nine more important contests to go."
Sincerely

Obama is so slick, but here the evidence he can not deny. On the TV program THE VIEW, Obama declared that Reverend Wright accepted that his view were inappropriate and mischaracterized. Then weeks later Wright goes on a national Hate America Press Tour? Just goes to prove how immature and green Obama is. And this is being generous. Watching this video one can only conclude Obama simply lied. Go ahead check it out yourselves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6J7yJ9R5p0

MY FELLOW "BITTER", STUPID, WORKING CLASS PEOPLE :-)
If you think like Barack Obama, that WORKING CLASS PEOPLE are just a bunch of "BITTER"!, STUPID, PEASANTS, Cash COWS!, and CANNON FODDER. :-(
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary's than they had ever been before or since.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)
Best regards
jacksmith... Working Class :-)
p.s. You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you don't know that the huge amounts of money funding the Obama campaign to try and defeat Hillary Clinton is coming in from the insurance, and medical industry, that has been ripping you off, and killing you and your children. And denying you, and your loved ones the life saving medical care you needed. All just so they can make more huge immoral profits for them-selves off of your suffering...
You see, back in 1993 Hillary Clinton had the audacity, and nerve to try and get quality, affordable universal health care for everyone to prevent the suffering and needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of you each year. :-)
Approx. 100,000 of you die each year from medical accidents from a rush to profit by the insurance, and medical industry. Another 120,000 of you die each year from treatable illness that people in other developed countries don't die from. And I could go on, and on...
OBAMA AIDE: "WORKING-CLASS VOTERS NOT KEY FOR DEMOCRATS" :o
DEBATE! DEBATE!! DEBATE!!!...

The Rev. Wright ordeal is Obama's biggest obstacle during this Presidential campaign. If he can overcome it, showing strength and conviction yet remaining humble, he will be the next President of the US. The news media (from FOX to ABC)knows this as well.
If Obama wins North Carolina and Indiana with both record turnouts and all this Rev. Wright hoopla going on, he will solidify his standing with the uncommitted superdelegates.
Then the Republicans will have wasted their most expensive and effective bullet (Rev. Wright) against Obama, because Americans will get tired of hearing about Rev. Wright when the economy is in a full blown recession, gas prices are at $4 per gallon and Iraq War deaths and casualities continue to rise.
Ultimately, it's the economy and war stupid!
Posted by: AJ | April 30, 2008 12:13 PM
Ridiculous. Can our press be anymore biased? Mr. Bacon I don't which sentence cracked me up more
This one with your transparent assumption:
"Clinton aides think that even if the measure is a questionable way to reduce gas prices, it allows the candidate to bash oil companies " (as if Clinton aides would make a comment like that)
Or this one:
"The former, smaller plane had a restroom only in the rear, forcing the Former First Lady to walk by the press corps every time she headed to the lavatory."
(irrelevant at best, snide implication here)
THANKS FOR WRITING AN ARTICLE FILLED WITH INCORRECT, AND NON-NEWS.
WILL THE POST please, please, please GET SOME JOURNALISTS WITH ETHICS AND INTEGRITY?

Clinton campaign's decision to not capitalize on Wright controversy is vetoed by Perry Bacon and the Washington Post:
"...After spending weeks blasting Barack Obama at any potential opening, Clinton aides have spent the past couple of days privately rather gleeful about Obama's plight with his former pastor, though they've said little publicly. Asked at a press conference on Monday about the matter, the candidate quickly sidestepped Obama's relationship with Jeremiah Wright to blast Arizona Senator John McCain, saying his condemnation of an ad being run by the North Carolina Republican Party that mentions Wright was not forceful enough.
"It's the gift that keeps on giving," noted one Clinton aide of Wright.
..."
I trust Hillary Clinton a hell of a lot more than I trust Perry Bacon, and so should you.

It is another fine mess that the Democratic party finds itself in. Meanwhile on the economic front, the figures for the first quarter still show growth. No recession for you! Will the politicians who have been throwing the word around like it has no meaning (strange for someone who has only words) get penalized or change their tune?
Posted by: Ed | April 30, 2008 11:54 AM
Yes, Mr. Bacon does seem to damn her with faint praise.
In spite of the media's love affair with Obama, she is going to be an amazing President.

Sorry, but Dick Morris is absolutely right. Billary is getting too little too late.
I have to LMFAO at the MESS the DIMocrats are in!
Barack Hussein would NEVER have the insurmountable Lead he does, IF the disenfranchised Floridians and Michiganders were not Robbed of their significance, and if the Garbage Bags attached to Obasama were noticed from the beginning! :-D
BUT, as is, the Dims could NEVER take away the Nomination without splintering the Hyperactive Greens that are giving the Dimocrat Socialists all their energy($$$$).
Then, we have Howling Dean trying to Disenfranchise all the remaining States and Territories that were FOOLish enough NOT to try to advance their Primaries! :-D
Then, I have to say that only a Party as based on Socialism as the Dimocrat Socialist Party, would pass over the partly competent Executive Contenders, for a Trail Lawyer, and/or an ACLU/Constitutional Law Lawyer! :-D
Laugh, Laugh, Laugh, LAUGH!!!! :-D
President McCain, PLEASE announce the Economics Wizard Mitt Romney as your VP and put these Fools out of our Misery! ;~)
-I'm LAUGHING TO DEATH!!! :-D
Make it Stop! :-D

It's hard not to read this and conclude Mr Bacon, by definition an effective writer, set out to do his very best to kneecap the Clinton campaign. Why can't we have a responsible, professional political press? Is that so much to ask?
