The Hillary Factor
In an excerpt from her taped appearance tonight on FOX's "The O'Reilly Factor," Sen. Hillary Clinton calls Jeremiah Wright's comments at the National Press Club on Monday "offensive and outrageous." In the interview, she also takes a backhanded shot at Barack Obama for not denouncing Wright earlier, saying, "He made his views clear -- finally."

Hmm...Barack Obama did nothing to stop or protest the war. Many, including myself did. One speech. He could have raised the issue at the 2004 Dem Convention, but he chose not to. Coward. No convictions. So, let's blame him for the dead. He hasn't done anything except use that speech for his own political gain. He is a con man.

10 reasons
1. She has strong, well-thought-out positions on topics from health care to Iraq and the environment. If anything, she has a wonk-like obsession with policy.
2. She is smart, has outstanding academic credentials, and was her husband Bill Clinton's most trusted White House adviser.
3. She has a strong personality, enthusiasm, determination. She has never been afraid to fight for what she believes in.
4. She has a strong team of advisers who could form the backbone of a Hillary White House.
5. She is still winning primaries, and has won almost all the big states, including New York and California, that the Democrats must win in November to gain the White House. While Hillary trails slightly in elected delegates, she is virtually tied with Obama in popular votes. Polls show they are in a dead heat in Indiana while Obama leads in North Carolina, two states with primaries next Tuesday.
6. She is the beneficiary of the political damage inflicted upon Obama by the controversial comments by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who was Obama's pastor for 16 years. Obama is outraged by the latest assertion by Wright that criticism of his incendiary sermons is an attack on the black church, but polls show his support slips every time Wright opens his mouth.
7. She fares better in polls against Republican nominee John McCain than does Obama. In a USA Today poll taken April 18 to 20, Clinton led McCain 50-44 per cent while Obama led him by 47-44 per cent.
8. She is ahead of Obama in winning support of "super delegates," who are party officials and elected politicians. This is important because neither she nor Obama will have the 2,024 pledged delegates needed to win before the convention starts. Eighty per cent of those delegates are awarded through primaries; the other 20 per cent are super delegates, who can vote any way they want at the convention.
9. What is so wrong about a "contested" convention? They are rare in the U.S., the last one being in 1952 when Adlai Stevenson won the Democratic nomination. In Canada, though, we see them every time a party holds a leadership race. Here, emotions run high, bitter words are spoken, but no one argues that every candidate except the front-runner should drop out before the actual balloting begins. There will be lots of time after the convention to heal party rifts and focus on beating McCain on Nov. 4.
10. She is carrying the hopes and dreams of millions of women.
Of all the reasons she should stay in the race, this is the one most troublesome for Hillary. Like it or not, she is a trailblazer, the woman with the best chance ever to be the world's most powerful leader.
"Even women who dislike Hillary and those of us who are ambivalent about her do not want her to throw in the towel now," said one Toronto woman who is fascinated with the Obama-Clinton contest.
"I want her to prove something for women - that we can fight with everything in us for what we want and play by our own rules, that 40 years of the feminist movement has given us that right. Let's at least show that this woman has what it takes to go the distance.

What demographics is Hillary going after by appearing on Fox's O'Rielly factor. None of the viewers of ORielly are going to vote for Hillary. What does Hilary offer that McCain does not offer.
1. McCain is old. Hillary is old.
2. McCain voted for iraq war. Hillary voted for Iraq war.
3. McCain wants to put $25 in peoples pocket by taking a gax tax holiday. Hillary wants to do the same.
4. McCain votes for most bills favored by Bush. Hillary votes for the same bills.
5. McCain is a real war hero and endured torture in Vietnam. Well, Hillary dreams of dodging sniper fire in Bosnia.
6. McCain's wife sells beer. Hillary guzzles beer.
7. McCain has a short temper and lashes out at his wife. Hillary's husband wags his finger and gets red faced at the media.
8. McCain gets all the votes of people above 100 years old. Hillary gets most of the votes of people over 75 years old.
Well Hillary of course has one thing to offer that McCain does not. That is her gender. She would love to get all the female votes. McCain would love to get all the votes who were a gun under their belt.

You Obama supporters are oblivious to the world outside of your cult. All Democrats are not hardcore liberals. Shocking?
The voters that Obama or Clinton need to win in the fall are precisely the moderates, MANY of whom are open-minded enough to listen to Bill O'Reilly.
Did you know that O'Reilly is very different from Rush Limbaugh? He supports a path to citizenship for illegals. He has actually been rather supportive of Obama on the Reverand Wright imbroglio.
Jayne, your narrow world view is EXACTLY the disease that may doom Obama's candidacy. The world is not made up of liberals on one side, and bitter clingers to guns and religion on the other. You need to step outside of the Obama compound and look around from time to time.

Insightful comments are always interesting. So far I haven't found those in any of yours. You seem to have a lot of free time. How about reading....with an open mind? If you want Hillary or John, that's fine. Do it positively. The positive gets us somewhere. Innuendo and false negatives don't. And cheap shots are definitely not productive. Have a nice day Jake. Keep your blood pressure low.

Barack Hussein is not black. He is half white, half Kenyan Arab.
He was indeed a member of a "Christian" church for 20 yrs, but that church worshiped Muslim racist Farrakhan.

Who and where would Hillary be if she had not married Bill Clinton?
Certainly not a US Senator representing New York state.
Certainly not a presidential candidate.
If you were facing heart surgery would you want the spouse of the surgeon doing the operation?

Smart political move. Highest rated cable news/commentary show. And shows she can take tough questions, not just swooning media like Barry O.

The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

If Obama is a Christian, but agrees with Rev. Wright's hateful sermons, I can "judge" that, right?

This has to be satire. Hillary on Fox pontificating about a retired preacher from Chicago. Low is a euphimism to where she'll stoop.
She does have a pattern though. Kind of like when she was asked, "ya know, some folks say he's a Muslim." Would she have the guts or class to say "that's ridiculous" or "so what". No, like here her response is artfully (read slickly) phrased as "Yes, I understand a lot people believe that."
She's a fighter alright- and a very dirty one at that. I guess the giving away highway repair taxes on an environmental binge for people's gas tanks idea didn't go over so well, so she's back to pandering for votes and painting black bogey men.

How forgetful and witty, and perfect we all are. Senator Clintons remarks, questioning why it took Obama so long to distance him self from the church. May I ask the same question to all the faithful whom attended a church for years, only to find out yet another Minister has molested their children. Leave it alone already, and judge your self and your faith.

Marc Reynolds:
I am simply educating people on little-known facts -- for instance, did you know that HUSSEIN means "handsome" in Arabic? I also emphasize Hillary DIANE Clinton and John SIDNEY McCain's middle names -- does that make me sexist or agist (sp)?
For the record, I am neither a Republican nor a "Hillary person" (I wouldn't vote for her in a million years). So, that's two strikes. Before you claim "there is no doubt" he is a lifelong Christian, though, perhaps you should double-check when he was baptized.

When her husband was in the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal impeachment trial headache, they invited this same Rev. Wright to a breakfast prayer meeting at the White House to pray for them over the husband's sexual moral sins!!! Rev Wright was making controversial statements at that time also.
Posted by: DUH | April 30, 2008 6:11 PM
Jake D, then why do you use his name constantly in your posts, I have seen em' over the last couple of months. Other people have called you on it too, but obviously their messages did not get through cause you just did it again today. The only reason a Republican (or Hillary person) would use his middle name over and over again is to try to somehow get people to make a connection to Muslims (people whom the Republicans have victimized.) Many voters have said to pollsters that they would not ever elect a Muslim President. You, Jake D, are trying to make people think Senator Obama is a Muslim (he is a lifelong Christian) there is no doubt of that sir.

Is Hillary the Devil?
Perhaps -- I would never vote for her in any event -- but, why aren't you counting the good Rev. Wright as "one of Obama's prominent supporters who have left the campaign or ceased to support him"?
Posted by: JakeD | April 30, 2008 6:09 PM
Beside the obvious and ongoing hypocrisy spewing from every word this woman utters, what I find especially interesting is that not one of Obama's prominent supporters have left the campaign or ceased to support him because of the Wright issue. Hillary, on the other hand, has had former aides in her husband's administration and even one her top fundraisers leave her campaign because THEY say she's too negative and divisive.
It makes me utterly ashamed as a woman that she will go down in history as the first female presidential hopeful. Her tactics are shameful, embarrassing (to her), and nothing short of pure power-hungry manipulation. For the sake of all Americans and the world for that matter, I pray she doesn't get the nomination.

When they want you to buy something
they will call you. When they want you
to die for profit they will let you know.
So, friends, every day do something
that won't compute. Love the Lord.
Love the world. Work for nothing.
Take all that you have and be poor.
Love someone who does not deserve it.
Denounce the government and embrace
the flag. Hope to live in that free
republic for which it stands.
Give your approval to all you cannot
understand. Praise ignorance, for what man
has not encountered he has not destroyed.
As soon as the generals and the politicos
can predict the motions of your mind,
lose it. Leave it as a sign
to mark the false trail, the way
you didn't go.

This war is the fault of everyone of us that believed the lie out of Washington. I believed there was weapons of mass destruction, I would I have known any different. I was not privelege to any inside reports from the government. This country wanted someone to pay for the horrific destruction of life of New York. I remember when President Bush was the best thing beside chicken soup, I remember his high approval numbers. Now look what has happened. I just can't place blame on the administration there is blame for me too.

No, if you use Senator Obama's middle name over and over again in a ridiculous attempt to get people (many such voters as you know would not vote for a Muslim because of the bad name given to followers of Islam due to these wars) to think he is a Muslim (Senator Obama is a Christian) then your racist Mr. Jake D.

Everyone in all quarters of the country are showing their true colors by attacking this good man (Obama.) The politics will never change with Hillary or even worse McCain. These two people have been around for +35 years and have just made gridlock. Reactionary elements like Jake D lol are trying to do anything and evrything, no matter how ridiculous to hurt him, in a sadistic effort to not only hurt him but to damage our national security by continuing this war. People are just racist enough to allow Wright to be their justification to go to Hillary or McCain which would be disastrous either way.

Hillary Clinton should be ashamed of herself for making such pernicious comments yesterday... Did she have a sudden attack of intelligence amnesia or is she secretly hoping for the worst so that she will get the nomination because she is Hillary Clinton and she can't stand to lose??
She knows she's done: she will never get the nomination. I hope she doesn't get it!
Hillary, it's time for you to learn how to bake cookies and let's hope that your daughter Chelsea will generate pretty offspring...
