Joe Andrew Jumps from Clinton to Obama

Former state and national Democratic Party chairman Joe Andrew announces at a news conference in Indianapolis on May 1, 2008, that he has switched his allegiance from Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama. (Associated Press)

By Shailagh Murray and Jonathan Weisman
Former Democratic Party leader Joe Andrew announced he is switching sides in the primary battle, from longtime ally Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to Sen. Barack Obama.
Andrew's announcement came without warning to either candidate. The Indiana superdelegate released a long letter this morning explaining his decision, while anticipating Clinton "attack dogs" would seek their revenge.
"You can be for someone without being against someone else," Andrew stressed in the letter, using italics for emphasis. "You can unite behind a candidate and a vision for America without rejecting another candidate and their vision, because in real life, opposed to party politics, we Democrats are on the same side."
But as the contest drags on, he added, "it is clear that a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote to continue" a Democratic battle that threatens to strengthen the presumptive GOP nominee, Sen. John McCain. He said he would use his influence within the party to press uncommitted superdelegates to sign on with Obama as soon as possible. Speaking to reporters by conference call, Andrew said, "We need to try to stop this process now."
Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), a Clinton supporter who has admitted he is under pressure to deliver his state, shrugged off the Andrews endorsement. "I don't think it'll matter one bit in the state of Indiana," he said. "I don't think he's lived in our state for eight or nine years. I don't think he can even vote in Indiana."
At the heart of Andrew's sales pitch will be this message: "Don't settle for the tried and true and the simplistic slogans, but listen to your heart and dare to be inspired. Only a cynic would be critical of Barack Obama inspiring millions. Only the uninformed could forget that the candidate that wins in November is always the candidate that inspires millions."
Andrew explained that he endorsed Clinton early in the process, before he got to know Obama. But as he's observed the Illinois senator, Andrew said he has grown increasingly impressed with Obama's "thoughtful," "calm," and "temperate" responses to everything from the gas tax holiday that both Clinton and McCain are advocating to the flaps over Michigan and Florida, which moved up their primary dates in violation of DNC rules.
Clinton, who won both states' primaries, wants to overturn a DNC ruling to allow the results to be counted, but Obama -- whose name wasn't on the ballot in Michigan -- has resisted making allowances for either rogue state, beyond a neutral seating of delegates at the August convention.
Andrew said he anticipated an ugly backlash from the Clinton camp. "My endorsement of Senator Obama will not be welcome news to my friends and family at the Clinton campaign," he wrote. "If the campaign's surrogates called Governor Bill Richardson, a respected former member of President Clinton's cabinet, a 'Judas' for endorsing Senator Obama, we can all imagine how they will treat somebody like me. They are the best practitioners of the old politics, so they will no doubt call me a traitor, an opportunist and a hypocrite. I will be branded as disloyal, power-hungry, but most importantly, they will use the exact words that Republicans used to attack me when I was defending President Clinton."
Of course, Andrew added, "I am an expert on this because these were the exact tools that I mastered as a campaign volunteer, a campaign manager, a state party chair and the national chair of our party."

Traitor Joe, Et tu Brute? Another Judas!!! Get real Joe. Obama saves a few of you traitors until he really needs you. Let's see the Rev. Wright-gate? Senator Obama has no plan for even changing the gas situation immediately and Senator Clinton does. Incidently, he voted for a gas tax suspension in IL 3 times. What a shock!!! What does this tell you North Carolinians and Hoosiers? Obama is truly showing himself for the empty suit that he is and the Wright thing seals the deal. He doesn't care a thing about promoting anybody but himself and his ability to be elected in November is seriously questionable. If he really cares about our party he would resign. He has far too many questionable relationships and we really don't know the half of it yet. We need Hillary Clinton because we know her for all of her flaws and perfections. We can still save the nominating process and the Democratic Party, if we do the right thing in the primaries left to come. IN and NC please don't let the rest of America down. Decisive wins for Hillary in all remaining primaries will put Obama back in his rightful place- a rookie senator lacking the experience to run our country in these most troubling times. We can still do this and I know the rest of "US" are counting on you. Bring Hillary on to the rest of "US"!!! Thank you, Mary from KY.

There was a discussion on FOX News tonight and one of the commentators was saying that No matter what happens, the Super Delegates will have no choice but to give the nomination to Obama even if Hillary wins most of the remaining contests and Barack appears a weak candidate in the end because the Black Community will not show up at the polls if he doesn't get the nomination.
It's like saying that whether Obama deserves it or not, they owe to give it to him because he is BLACK. And because he is black, he is entitled to it.
What an idiotic comment!!!
As far as Joe Andrew goes, the guy cannot be trusted and is just as ARROGANT as his newly found master Barack. If he has any decency at all, he'll at least wait for the Tuesday's results before making a move. I don't see any objectivity in what he does except to position himself to what he thinks is inevitable. He's just another opportunist and nothing more.

Obviously, Obama needs all the help he can get because it won't be easy to drag him over the finish line to win the election.
If Dems like tugs of war, they've chosen the right avenue. Gathering around Obama might given them enough strength to slip through the blockade that Republicans and disenchanted Democrats will put up. No doubt Joe Andrew is aware of this. He's pretty mild mannered anyway, and wears his pressure well, not exactly a rigid advocate of anyone, is he?

I like Obama most, McCain second, Hillary third.
Barrack Obama will win. He'll be the first black president of the Untied States because:
1) The Iraq war was wrong, costly, and now unpopular. Voters will throw the hawks out.
2) The economy and consumer confidence are hurting. Voters will throw the bumbs out.
3) We have enough post-60's voters now where many more voters can see right through race-baiting commercials.
By the time of the nomination voters will see through the attacks against Obama calling him a Muslim AND a Christian extremist. They know the Reverand Wright attacks are pointless because Reverand Wright is not running for President. They know Obama is not nearly as easy to paint as out-of-touch as a multi-millaionaire or an old, lifelong Washington politician. However, Obama has not gone so negative in his commericals.
4) Huckabee... I mean, Hillary did not pick up the delegates she needed in Texas or Ohio or Pennsylvania (states that favored her) and even lost delegates in Texas. She lost a long time ago when her advisers led her to disaster on 10 contests in a row following Super Tuesday.
5) Obama continues to inspire new voters and those of us who are tired of 16 years of Bushes and Clintons. Let's give a candidate who has earned their way up a chance for a change.

It's highly ironic that just as the momentum is swinging back to Clinton, Andrews changes camps, thereby enhancing the growing grassroots quality of Clinton's campaign and the elitist connotation that has stuck like glue to Obama.

Andrew is another Judas-style traitor.
This is the reason the Democratic Party is in gridlock because of traitor flip-floppers like Andrews.

It doesn't matter how you slice it up, carve it, dice it, scattered, smothered, stirred, whipped, played back for 4 years or more, whatever, having Pastor Wright as your mentor and hero says you have a severe character flaw.
Barack Obama basically proved this himself after he threw Pastor Wright under the bus, backed-up, then ran him over thrice more the other day. And for what? Oh yeah, something about "same old politics" comes to mind. What a joke.
Why are we wasting our precious time with this inadequate candidate? Let's talk about having a Universal Healthcare program instead. Let's erase the health insurance industry(and make sure the working class insurance people get a different job of course). Let's erase the "pre-existing condition" limitation, and the cut-throat, profit-from-the-dying tactics of our broken Healthcare system.
Barack's promises may appeal to the ear, but where are the documented details of this great shaboozle of a firing-squad method he intends to use to erase our American government? Scary.
No thanks Obama

I just wish someone could tell me just exactly what Obama has to offer anyway. I mean realistically, what experience qualifys him to be the president? And if he has already pledged non-negoitable allegiance to africa, how can he pledge allegiance to America? What if Africa became our enemy, what if it was being overtaken and run by a terrorist government? Where would obamas loyalty lie? He wont even wear an american lapel flag pin! And he comes up with some non-sense reason why,He is clearly anti-American, and any American who supports him does not have their Country,s best interest at heart. And people keep saying hillary is a liar, but look at all the really important issues that Obama has lied about. I dont care what anyone says, he is not right for our President. And the super delegates and the people who support Hillary are not just supporting a color, they are supporting a strong candidate!

Obama rocks, you are kidding right? when you say Clinton camp is pigment challenged. what about the fact That 90% of blacks are voting for obama? You dont honestly believe that 90% of any population would agree on one candidate, do you? They are not voting for the man, they are voting for a color! and the numbers prove it. if you really listen to some of these Black Obama followers, you will see that it is they who are obsessed with having a Black president, Not Whites obsessed with not having one! A White man could put on a Black face and if he could pull it off, no matter what his policy was, they would vote for him. And some of them want to call hillary supporters retarded!!! It seems to me the whole thing has been rigged in Obamas favor from the get go, and if Blacks get mad if hes not the nominee, then hillarys supporters will get just as mad if she is not. wonder what would happen to us if we were to riot in the streets if we dont get our way!!!!

If Joe can change with the wind like Obama can, then they deserve each other. And for him to say he expects the attack dogs to come after him is just another way to try and degrade Hillary! But when he try,s to bully the other superdelegates to jump on his bandwagon, well that shows who the real attack dog is. and his name is Joe! It makes me so mad when she is clearly the more viable candidate, for them to scream for her to quit. why dont they tell Obama to quit? he is the one who has nothing to offer except division and separatism!
Posted by: Myrtle | May 2, 2008 9:05 PM
I'm curious as to why people object to the superdelegates deciding this thing after the elections but nobody worries about them trying to decide this thing before the elections... why can't the superdelegates just sit back and let this play out and make their decisions at the end of the process? The DNC is running the party ads against McCain and I'm sure as soon as they stop holding the votes in Florida and Michigan hostage, they will begin to see support in the way of donations. In the meantime, the superdelegates need to STOP trying to decide this before the people with the votes.

So why does this guy think his opinion warrants a full "announcement" when others with significantly more clout have found it sufficient to simply announce their support?
Talk about someone grasping for a fresh 15 minutes of fame ... and where is that Clinton "pack of dogs" attacking him?
Could it be that he is just another number and nobody really cares what he has to say on the topic? I'm betting Obama has already forgotten this guys name and that Clinton had to ask "Who?" when told.

I feel so sorry for the people in Indiana and North Carolina. They aren't even given a voice in choosing a nominee. The Obama Democrats have already decided they won. They don't care that Obama stayed in that church for 20 YEARS. Obama doesn't care that he called people in North Carolina and Indiana ignorant, small-town, bitter people who use religion and guns to cry into their beers because they're so poor and don't work for a living. Obama doesn't care that he eats arugula and our kids go to sleep hungry or overweight because we can't afford the $99 per pound ham that his kids eat.

Clinton Adviser calls Indiana voters "Worthless White N*ggers" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN_nQOHj__s

On his show, with Hillary as guest, "O'Reilly interjected. 'I'm not middle class, I'm a rich guy.' Clinton responded (in an awkward moment), 'Rich people, God bless us. We deserve all the opportunities to make sure our country and our blessings continue until the next generation.'"
Seems like her sense of entitlement has changed little over the years since Carl Bernstein wrote (in A WOMAN IN CHARGE) that "because of the rightness or even righteousness of what the Clintons were trying to do" with their co-presidency "Bill and Hillary could ignore some of the natural laws of politics....
"Sometimes it appeared inseparable from an attitude of elitism sensed by her co-workers. A high official who worked closely for years with both...said, 'It's as if she thinks that there are some unpleasant compromises one makes when given the responsibility -- perhaps by God -- of leading the lesser lights to the Promised Land.... She thinks she should be telling the 'little people' how to live....'"
But of those poor whites who didn't support Bill, she later said "Screw 'em."

I wonder if it is of any interest to Indy voters that Hillary was on the board of Wal-Mart for six years?
Posted by: feastorafamine | May 1, 2008 2:29 PM
----------------------------
Michelle Obama was on a board of the company that provides all the food to Wal-Mart until Obama tried to bash Hillary over being the first woman on the Wal-mart Board while Sam Walton was still alive and they were selling Made In America products.
Obama attacked Hillary's position on Wal-Mart Board as the first woman ever on their board 25 years ago while ignoring his own wife's recent Board position on a company that supplies Wal-mart with its food in which she never fought for unions either - she, Michelle Obama, even voted to close down some factories that supplied Wal-Mart with food devastating a couple of towns in Colorado and putting 100's of people out of work. He has attacked her for not fighting for unions when the truth is that since not only was she the only woman on the board they were adamantly against unions and just would have voted her off the board so she fought for women's rights within Wal-Mart. Maybe all you "Girls Gone Wild" youth and university students that think you know it all should do some actual research before you stick your feet in your mouth. This camapign is not about the next new i-pod or cell phone which we all know you will be moving on to soon as you always do when a candidate gets you all worked up, and believe me it happens every four years.

..THESE ARE THE MUSLIMS PRESIDENTS OF SOME ARAB COUNTRIES TODAY FOLLOWERS OF "ISLAM"--President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran --------President: Bashar Al-ASAD of Syria-----Iraq President Jalal Talabani,------Libyan President Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi ------Afghanistan -- President: Hamid KARZAI---king Abdullah of Saudi Arabia ...AND NOW SHOULD THE USA OF AMERICA ALSO JOIN THEM WITH A MUSLIM NAME BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA AND ALSO "ISLAM" ????---SHOULD BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA A MUSLIM NAME AND A SON OF A MUSLIM-- BE PRESIDENT "WHEN WE ARE FIGHTING THE WAR OF OUR LIVES AGAINST ISLAM"?
In a December 18 column headlined "Barack Hussein Obama: Once a Muslim, Always A Muslim" and posted on her website, right-wing pundit Debbie Schlussel argued that because Sen. Barack Obama's (D-IL) middle name is Hussein, his late, estranged father was of Muslim descent, and he has shown interest in his father's Kenyan heritage, Obama's "loyalties" must be called into question as he emerges as a possible Democratic presidential candidate. In the column, Schlussel asked: "So, even if he identifies strongly as a Christian ... is a man who Muslims think is a Muslim, who feels some sort of psychological need to prove himself to his absent Muslim father, and who is now moving in the direction of his father's heritage, a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?" She ended her column by asking if Obama becoming vice president instead would be acceptable. Answering her own question, she wrote: "NO WAY, JOSE ... Or, is that, HUSSEIN?"
In questioning Obama's "loyalties," Schlussel immediately noted his middle name and then pointed to several "items in his background." First, she wrote that Obama's father was "apparently a Muslim." She went on to note that his mother's second husband was an Indonesian man, whom Schlussel described as "likely a Muslim." She also brought up a March 3, 2004, Salon.com article by Scott Turow which noted that Obama attended a Muslim school while living in Indonesia. But in citing these "items" as evidence of Obama's Muslim leanings, Schlussel ignored several pertinent facts. First, she left out that Turow made clear in his 2004 article that, during his time in Indonesia, Obama transferred to a Catholic school:
[T]he new family moved to Djakarta, where Obama's sister Maya was born. (Obama describes her looks as those "of a Latin queen.")
After two years in a Muslim school, then two more in a Catholic school, Obama was sent by his mother back to her parents' home so that he could attend Hawaii's esteemed Punahou Academy.
Schlussel also left out Obama's assertions in the past that both his father and stepfather were "non-practicing" Muslims. From an April 5, 2004, Chicago Sun-Times article:
Obama describes his father, after whom he is named, as "agnostic." His paternal grandfather was a Muslim. His mother, he says, was a Christian.
[...]
When he was 6 years old, after his parents divorced, Obama moved with his mother and her new husband -- a non-practicing Muslim -- to Indonesia, where he lived until he was 10 and attended a Roman Catholic school.
"I went to a Catholic school in a Muslim country, so I was studying the Bible and catechisms by day, and, at night, you'd hear the [Muslim] prayer call," Obama recalls. "My mother was a deeply spiritual person and would spend a lot of time talking about values and give me books about the world's religions and talk to me about them.
Schlussel's column fits into a larger pattern in the recent media coverage and commentary regarding Obama. Indeed, like Schlussel -- who has repeatedly appeared on MSNBC in the past -- numerous media figures have gone out of their way to highlight Obama's middle name in recent weeks:
During MSNBC's special election coverage on November 7, co-anchor Chris Matthews remarked that Obama's "middle name is Hussein" and suggested that it would "be interesting down the road."
On November 27, MSNBC host Tucker Carlson referred to radio host Bill Press as "a true member of the Barack Hussein Obama fan club."
During the November 28 edition of MSNBC's Hardball, Republican strategist Ed Rogers referred to "Barack Hussein Obama."
On the December 5 edition of Fox News' Special Report with Brit Hume, senior political correspondent Carl Cameron told viewers: "Though he's written two books about himself already, most people know very little about Barack Hussein Obama Junior's uncommonly privileged life."
On the December 11 edition of CNN's Situation Room, correspondent Jeanne Moos noted that "[o]nly one little consonant differentiates" Obama and Osama. She then added, "[A]s if that similarity weren't enough. How about sharing the name of a former dictator? You know his middle name, Hussein."
On the December 11 edition of The Situation Room, CNN senior political analyst Jeff Greenfield compared the similarity of Obama's "business casual" clothing to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's "jacket-and-no-tie look." Greenfield concluded the segment by saying: "Now, it is one thing to have a last name that sounds like Osama and a middle name, Hussein, that is probably less than helpful. But an outfit that reminds people of a charter member of the axis of evil, why, this could leave his presidential hopes hanging by a thread." He later explained on the CNN website that he was making "a joke."
On December 13, Matthews teased another interview with Rogers by describing the strategist as "the one who just loves Barack Obama's middle name Hussein."
On the December 14 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio program, Rush Limbaugh gave Obama a "nickname" -- "Barack Hussein Odumbo" (in reference to Obama's "big ears").
On the December 14 edition of Hardball, NBC's Mike Viqueira announced "a man named Barack Obama, whose middle name, incidentally, is Hussein, running for president."
According to Schlussel's online bio, she claims "unique expertise on radical Islam/Islamic terrorism and a host of other issues" and that her "online fan club is the Internet's second largest for a political personality -- behind only Ann Coulter."
From Schlussel's December 18 column:
Many months ago, readers began asking me whether Barack Obama is Muslim. Since he identifies as a Christian, I said, "no," and responded that he was not raised by his Kenyan father.
But, then, I decided to look further into Obama's background. His full name -- as by now you have probably heard -- is Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Hussein is a Muslim name, which comes from the name of Ali's son -- Hussein Ibn Ali. And Obama is named after his late Kenyan father, the late Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., apparently a Muslim.
And while Obama may not identify as a Muslim, that's not how the Arab and Muslim Streets see it. In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back. In Islamic eyes, Obama is certainly a Muslim. He may think he's a Christian, but they do not.
Then, there are the other items in his background. As best-selling author Scott Turow wrote in Salon, Obama went to a Muslim school for two years in Indonesia. His mother, Anna, married an Indonesian man (likely another Muslim, as Indonesia is Muslim-dominated and has the largest Islamic population in the world).
And Obama has a "born-again" affinity for the nation of his Muslim father, Kenya, and his Kenyan sister. (Although Kenya is largely Christian, it has a fast-growing Muslim population that has engaged in a good deal of religious violence and riots against Christians. And Kenyan courts will apply Sharia law, when the participants are Muslim.) Wrote Turow:
Obama's father died in a traffic accident in Nairobi in 1982, but while Obama was working in Chicago, he met his Kenyan sister, Auma, a linguist educated in Germany who was visiting the United States. When she returned to Kenya in 1986 to teach for a year at the University of Nairobi, Obama finally made the trip to his father's homeland he had long promised himself. There, he managed to fully embrace a heritage and a family he'd never fully known and come to terms with his father, whom he'd long regarded as an august foreign prince, but now realized was a human being burdened by his own illusions and vulnerabilities.
So, even if he identifies strongly as a Christian, and even if he despised the behavior of his father (as Obama said on Oprah); is a man who Muslims think is a Muslim, who feels some sort of psychological need to prove himself to his absent Muslim father, and who is now moving in the direction of his father's heritage, a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?
Is that even the man we'd want to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, if Hillary Clinton offers him the Vice Presidential candidacy on her ticket (which he certainly wouldn't turn down)?
NO WAY, JOE ... Or, is that, HUSSEIN?

That's our plan we want hurt Obama's chance of being the nominee and president, because he's too inexperienced for this job, and had not piad his dues yet in the Senate, and if he becomes the Nominee I call for all Strong Hillary supporters not to vote for Obama, stay home, vote for Hillary by write-in, vote for McCain, or Nader, but not Obama, he would have this country more messed up thanit is, that's right this is our protest for throwing Hillary under the Bus for an inexperienced Senator, I hope we do destroy his chances of being the Noinee or President, Obama is not to be trusted, and Hillary should and must stay in this race to show the Obama supporters thew DNC that she is not going to let the media or anyone push her around just because she's a woman, I'm a Black American who believe that Obama should be the one to step down even though he's leading in delegates, becasue he's surley going to lose in the general election, and he is the Nominee, I would love for him to lose for the party, because he did not deserve this post anyway, now how do you like those apples?
Go Hillary never give-up never quit for nothing or nobody, you have too many supporters backing you no matter what the DNC, the media, or the Obama Campaign and is suppoters want, make them work hard for this nomination just don't hand it to them. Obama is whuzz, whinner, complainer, whuzz, and weakling Obama, he will not be able to handle or overcome the Republican Swiftboat Machine that's waiting for him if he becomes the nominee, they will eat him alive, thisman is even scared to debate a woman again, if he was so strong and confident in himself, he should and would be willing and able to debate Hillary anytime anywhere as many times as she wants, but no he knows he cannot beat Hillary in a debate, so he chicken's and whuzzs out on Hillary now, I don't want this chicken being my President, I'm afraid Obama would whuzz out under pressure in National and International Affairs. We better go for hIllary, because she's oure best and only hope of winning the election for our party.
I hope all strong Hillary supporters will not unite around Obama or the DNC, but instead if Hillary losesthe nomination vote for her by Write-in in the general election, and think about leaving the party as well due to Hillary's unfair treatment during this campaign, this is not sour grapes, but if Hillary had lost fair and square and treated fairly and balanced thoughout this campaign, I would not have suggested meause this to all Hillary Supporters, but since the gender-biased media and the Obama campaign, and his suppoters slickly and deceptively race and gender-baited Hillary's campaign, I think my suggestion dsereves great consideration and merit to be carried out by her supporters to try and block Obama's Presidency against his suppoters and the DNC.

You might not care about Mr.Andrews endorsement BUT rest assure that it is VERY MUCH important because it is a symbolic endorsement...moving from Clinton to Obama is a signal to other superdelegates to move to the Obama camp...it is symbolic because again, Mr. Andrew was a close friend of the Clintons (just like Richardson) and he chose not to stand by her...what does that say???? Well, he has witnessed inside the Clinton machine and knows exactly how it operates on its divisiveness to win votes....if after 15 months u still don't know Obama you the voters are at fault...read his books and research on his senate experiences...keep in mind that the infamous Clinton baggage has not been publicized on cable TV becus Obama choses NOT to exploit the Clintons the way that they were back in the 1990's by the republicans....that alone should tell u Obama's level of integrity...but be sure that the republicans WILL use their baggage against them...currently the Clinton's have a case against them sitting in Supreme Court for fraud...bet u didn't know about that one...hey?! I am probably wasting my breath...most of u probably have made up ur mind about Obama because of his pastor which is riduculous...I just ask u to do ur research like I have...don't base ur information soley on the 30 secs of news....or something as trivial as Rev.Wright....Obama is special....go on the candidates websites...inform urselves...God bless u all!

Can the volunteer bloggers from the Hillary Camp stop it already!!!!!! YOu're killing it!!!!Indiana or no Indiana Sen.Obama will be the nominee...the math is on his side...he is in the lead with the pledged delegate...popular vote(becus Michigan & Florida will not count)...more states won and he is only down 19 superdelegates and is fast catching up....WAKE UP people....she wont be the nominee...she is only hurting Obama's chance of winning the general election...I know u guyz are not that stupid!!

Does Mr. Andrew honestly think we care who he endorses. Who is this guy -- he held some office 10 years ago. His endorsement of Obama is irresponsible and self-serving and takes the vote out the hands of the people. I am so tired of this election being directed by superdelegates and the media. What about the American people and what we want. This has to go to the convention and be settled there. If it doesn't then you are going to have more crossover votes to the GOP. I have been a Dem for a long time but I will crossover to the GOP if Obama gets the nomination. The only reason he is ahead of Clinton is because early primary voters did not know then what we all know now. Mr. Obama denounces publicly a relationship that he's had 25 years. Would you say that's something we should consider when nominating a president. You had an opportunity to change horses in the middle of the stream Mr. Andrew so why don't you accord the same right to the populous voters! I say we let it get worked out at the convention. Are we a democracy or is our next President going to be selected by these superdelegates who are only interested in the success of the Democratic party and not the nomination of the best candidate for the job!!motivated

Clinton lays down with scallywag Republicanesque dogs, read on:
Former journalist Sidney Blumenthal has been widely credited with coining the term "vast right-wing conspiracy" used by Hillary Clinton in 1998 to describe the alliance of conservative media, think tanks, and political operatives that sought to destroy the Clinton White House where he worked as a high-level aide. A decade later, and now acting as a senior campaign advisor to Senator Clinton, Blumenthal is exploiting that same right-wing network to attack and discredit Barack Obama. And he's not hesitating to use the same sort of guilt-by-association tactics that have been the hallmark of the political right dating back to the McCarthy era.
Almost every day over the past six months, I (Huffington) have been the recipient of an email that attacks Obama's character, political views, electability, and real or manufactured associations. The original source of many of these hit pieces are virulent and sometimes extreme right-wing websites, bloggers, and publications. But they aren't being emailed out from some fringe right-wing group that somehow managed to get my email address.
Instead, it is Sidney Blumenthal who, on a regular basis, methodically dispatches these email mudballs to an influential list of opinion shapers -- including journalists, former Clinton administration officials, academics, policy entrepreneurs, and think tankers -- in what is an obvious attempt to create an echo chamber that reverberates among talk shows, columnists, and Democratic Party funders and activists. One of the recipients of the Blumenthal email blast, himself a Clinton supporter, forwards the material to me and perhaps to others.
These attacks sent out by Blumenthal, long known for his fierce and combative loyalty to the Clintons, draw on a wide variety of sources to spread his Obama-bashing. Some of the pieces are culled from the mainstream media and include some reasoned swipes at Obama's policy and political positions.
But, rather remarkably for such a self-professed liberal operative like Blumenthal, a staggering number of the anti-Obama attacks he circulates derive from highly-ideological and militant right-wing sources such as the misnamed Accuracy in Media (AIM), The Weekly Standard, City Journal, The American Conservative, and The National Review.
IS HILLARY A REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT, SHE NEEDS TO MAKE UP HER MIND. HER TACTICS ARE PURE ROVE!!!!!

Would someone please inform me (because I really do not get it) why people "trust" that Hillary will do what she states - when she has lied feverishly throughout this campaign?
And, please inform me why the media is afraid to print the current Clinton legal problem: Paul vs Clinton?
Why do the Clintons get a pass on all of their atrocities? Please, just inform me.

Hillary playing the race card and now working. The media they control keep saying blacks for Obama and whites for her. The funny thing is majority of Obama supporters are whites, including Joe Andrew.
The Hillary camp is pigment challenged.

Hillary is counting on Americans being dumbPosted by: AJ
How correct you are, and not just as it pertains to the economy. When Hiliary went on one of those late night talk shows to make fun of herself about the flagrant lie of ducking sniper fire in Bosnia, some time later she was asked about that. Her reply "I may be a lot of things but I am not dumb." I inferred from this that she thought the American voter(s) was dumb enough to fall for it.

DEBATE! DEBATE!! DEBATE!!!
It's time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.
Hillary Clinton seemed almost somber at her Pennsylvania victory speech. As if part of her was hoping Obama could have proved he had some chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources.
But it is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.
Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Mr. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.
Mr. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Mr. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton's have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.
If Mr. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.
Sen. Hillary Clinton: "You know, more people have now voted for me than have voted for my opponent. In fact, I now have more votes than anybody has ever had in a primary contest for a nomination. And it's also clear that we've got nine more important contests to go."

Ughhhh. Traitor. Joe Andrew cannot possibly call himself a democrat when he wants to shut down the race and prevent millions of voters from having chance to voice their opinion.
It's obvious that he is doing this for some sort of political gain. I hope the 30 pieces of silver is worth it.

If you think like Barack Obama, that WORKING CLASS PEOPLE are just a bunch of "BITTER"!, STUPID, PEASANTS, Cash COWS!, and CANNON FODDER. :-(
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.
You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)

p.s. You Might Be An Idiot! :-)
If you don't know that the huge amounts of money funding the Obama campaign to try and defeat Hillary Clinton is coming in from the insurance, and medical industry, that has been ripping you off, and killing you and your children. And denying you, and your loved ones the life saving medical care you needed. All just so they can make more huge immoral profits for them-selves off of your suffering...
You see, back in 1993 Hillary Clinton had the audacity, and nerve to try and get quality, affordable universal health care for everyone to prevent the suffering and needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of you each year. :-)
Approx. 100,000 of you die each year from medical accidents from a rush to profit by the insurance, and medical industry. Another 120,000 of you die each year from treatable illness that people in other developed countries don't die from. And I could go on, and on...

So many of these responses are proof-positive that the USA is full of flaming idiots! It is no wonder that we have a moron like Bush as president. Our media is a joke and caters to the lowest common denominator that loves trash talk because they are not capable of understanding anything beyond Fox sound bites. Where can a person go for an intelligent discussion of the candidates and issues?

I think it's classic how the DNC keeps insisting this party will come together. They live in such a bubble. There are now fundamental differences between these two candidates and how people feel about them. It's so obvious that Obama knew more about Wright than he claimed. He makes the same denials over Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn. Bring on Jodie Evans and PINK CODE. There are some skeevy people who hang around this guy. Not to mention that with men and women in uniform in two wars in foreign lands, Michelle gives an interview and says "America is a mean country." If I had a son or a daughter in the service, Michelle Obama would never ever get into the White House. There is an astounding inability of these two people to work among common people. They live in a world of academia where 'whatever floats your boat.'

Earlier blogger,
You forgot to mention Obama's comment about nuking Pakistan!
And that Obama's two books are FULL of the same Anti-white rhetoric that he denounced his 20 YEAR "mentor" for. And he through his own "mother's race" under the bus in the books. And that he named one book after a Wright sermon! But as as he said "Wright did not share his views" and respect "ME".
This is the MOST DIVISIVE CANDIDATE IN MEMORY! PERIOD! Please quit blogging long enough to mail him a Webster's dictionary! He really has no idea what "unity" means!

A Fair question to ask the Hillary Campaign is would they use the Pardon Executive Order to Get out of this Mess of Campaign Finance fraud with Peter F Paul , thats got Bill and Chelsea involved as well , I Mean the question is fair just how far one is willing to push to get Elected with the stakes so high wouldn't this be a question of Qualification for the Office of Presidency above all the other Conflicts of interest ??????????????
Hillary needs the Presidency at all costs to pardon her self and everyone involved in the trial in Clinton fraud case , and given the relationship the Clintons have had with the Rev Wright in the past , it is possible Rev Wright made deal with them to bury Obama , to get the Nomination , if this happens , then what does Peter F Paul have

While Hillary Clinton battles Barack Obama on the campaign trail, a judge in Los Angeles is quietly preparing to set a trial date in a $17 million fraud suit that aims to expose an alleged culture of widespread corruption by the Clintons and the Democratic Party.
At the conclusion of a hearing tomorrow morning before California Superior Court Judge Aurelio N. Munoz, lawyers for Hollywood mogul Peter F. Paul will begin seeking sworn testimony from all three Clintons - Bill, Hillary and Chelsea - along with top Democratic Party leaders and A-list celebrities, including Barbra Streisand, John Travolta, Brad Pitt and Cher.
Paul's team hopes for a trial in October. The Clintons' longtime lawyer David Kendall, who will attend the hearing, has declined comment on the suit.
The Clintons have tried to dismiss the case, but the California Supreme Court, in 2004, upheld a lower-court decision to deny the motion.

The recent coverage of Rev. Jeremiah Wright has often cast him as a marginal, almost fringe figure, but Trinity Church is a major Chicago institution, and Wright has long been a prominent pastor on the American scene.
And an anonymous blog set up to defend his church offers some compelling photographic evidence of this: A photograph of Wright and President Clinton, which it says was taken on Sept. 11, 1998 -- the date of a White House gathering for religious leaders.
[UPDATE: The blog seems to have taken that item down; here's the full image that was posted.]
Hillary Clinton, according to her recently released schedule for the day, was present at the gathering. Al Gore also appears in the picture.

I can't believe that you have the balls to support Obama since the revelations of the Rev. Wright. Only a fool would ignore the facts.
1. Obama was in his (Rev Wright) church for 20 years.
2. Obama has described him (Rev Wright) as a major influence in his life.
3. Rev Wright is now very vocal about his beliefs.
If the above are true then Rev Wright and Obama have similar beliefs. If that's true Obama is as Racist as Rev Wright.

Neo Nazi/White Supremacist Hal Turner Confirms Friendship And Kinship With Sean Hannity
Reported by Ellen - March 23, 2008 - 343 comments
Earlier in the week, Sean Hannity denied, albeit in contradictory terms, ever having a relationship with neo Nazi/white supremacist Hal Turner. As I posted the night Hannity was confronted about Turner, the evidence conflicts with Hanniy's claims. Now Turner has confirmed their friendship and their sympatico views in a blog post called, "About Sean Hannity and Me. . . . . Yes, we were friends and yes, Sean agreed with some of my views." H/T Davefromqueens.
UPDATED: Comments received from someone claiming to be Hannity's Program Director
In his post (Warning: not for the faint of heart) that reveals just what kind of guy he is, Turner writes:
In my opinion, based on my first hand experience, I believe Sean Hannity is, in fact, a Hal Turner sort of guy. It seems to me that a big difference between Sean and me is that I am willing to say publicly what I think about savage Black criminals, diseased, uneducated illegal aliens and the grotesque cultural destruction wrought by satanic jews while Sean and many others keep quiet to protect their paychecks.
We have cited many times an article in The Nation as evidence that Turner and Hannity were palsy. In his post, Turner calls the author, Max Blumenthal, a "douche bag sodomite," but Blumenthal's account is essentially confirmed by Turner's:
I was quite disappointed when Sean Hannity at first tried to say he didn't know me and then went on to say that I ran some senate campaign in New Jersey. In fact, Sean Hannity does know me and we were quite friendly a number of years ago.
...When Hannity took over Bob Grant's spot on 77 WABC in New York City, I was a well-known, regular and welcome caller to his show. Through those calls, Sean and I got to know each other a bit and at some point, I can't remember exactly when, Sean gave me the secret "Guest call-in number" at WABC so that my calls could always get on the air.
When I utlized that call-in number, Sean would very often come onto that line during commercial breaks so we could chat before I went on the air. Our off-the-air chats grew to an exchange of other phone numbers, me giving Sean my home and cellular number and Sean giving me his direct dial-in number at Fox News channel.
In 1993, My wife got pregnant and around a month later, Sean reported that he and his wife were expecting their first child. We got to talking about things expectant dads talk about and the relationship grew.
...Over the course of the next three or four years, Sean and I spoke regularly off the air about our kids, politics and news of the day. My on-air calls to his show remained regular and welcome
.
Turner concludes his blog post by threatening to use "force and violence" against his enemies. "Those using me as a prop to attack Sean Hannity would do well to remember this fact. Rest assured I will remember them when the opportunity presents itself."
Last Wednesday (3/19/08), Hannity & Colmes guest Malik Shabazz asked Hannity, in response to his continual attacks on Barack Obama regarding his pastor, "Are you to be judged by your promotion and association with Hal Turner?"
Hannity at first denied knowing Turner, then asserted that Turner was someone running a campaign in New Jersey whom Hannity had banned from his radio show. Then in what sounded like a tacit admission to me, Hannity told Shabazz, "I'm not running for president."
Two nights later (3/21/08) on Hannity & Colmes, Hannity professed to be saddened by the racial divisiveness engendered by the controversy about Obama and his pastor. But Hannity seems to have directly participated in far more divisiveness than Obama. Please write Hannity and FOX News and demand that Hannity come clean about his own associations before he continues accusing Barack Obama about his.

Wright Wrongly Receives Far More Coverage than Coe, Hagee and Parsley
By Frederick Clarkson Thu Mar 27, 2008 at 01:11:09 PM EST printable version print story
Some media have been struggling with the explosion of controversies over statements by prominent religious supporters of Clinton, McCain and Obama. Of these, Obama's progressive pastor has received the lion's share of attention. The extreme views of Religious Right leaders Doug Coe, John Hagee and Rod Parsley much less so. Talk to Action covered these guys long before most of the media and for that matter, the blogosphere, caught up. For example, my first post picking up on Jeff Sharlet and Kathryn Joyce's Mother Jones story about Hillary Clinton and The Family, was last December. Our reporting on Hagee and Parley is better measured in years.
But let's focus on the current media struggle on this.
topic: Analysis of Christian Right
Joshua Green at The Atlantic says that Doug Coe, the secretive leader of The Family, has "never made any controversial public utterance that I am aware of." But if he had read Bruce Wilson's post here at Talk to Action last week, he would have learned of this Doug Coe quote from Jeff Sharlet's forthcoming book on The Family:
"Jesus says, 'You have to put me before other people, and you have to put me before yourself.' Hitler, that was the demand of the Nazi Party. You have to put the Nazi Party and its objectives in front of your own life and ahead of other people!"
"I've seen pictures of young men in the Red Guard of China, a table laid out like a butcher table, they would bring in this young man's mother and father, lay her on the table with a basket on the end, he would take an axe and cut her head off."
"They have to put the purposes of the Red Guard ahead of the mother-father-brother-sister---their own life !"
"That was a covenant. A pledge. That was what Jesus said."
I have a review copy of the book, and I can fairly say that there is much more to come. While Senator Clinton cannot necessarily be held responsible for Coe's views -- she has been a member of this very, very small elite fundamentalist group since the early 90s: Almost as long as Obama has been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. But she refuses to talk about it at all, let alone explain her relationship to Coe and his shocking views. and the media seem to be neglecting to look into it.
Meanwhile, Media Matters for America has been tracking the issue of disparity of coverage between Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright as against coverage of John McCain's relationship to Hagee and Parsely, with whom he has sought close political relationships. He has also described Parsley as a "spritual guide."
Media continue to ignore McCain endorsers' controversial comments
Summary: Media Matters has extensively documented the disparity in media coverage devoted to controversial comments made by supporters of Sen. Barack Obama and to those made by supporters of Sen. John McCain. Several major publications have reported only on the controversy over remarks by McCain supporter John Hagee targeting Catholics, but not his controversial statements about Hurricane Katrina, Islam, women, and homosexuality. Most of those same publications have yet to report on pastor Rod Parsley and his controversial remarks in the context of McCain's campaign.
Much more
Media Matters zeros in on one TV talking head, Washington Post media reporter Howard Kurtz:
On CNN's Reliable Sources, Howard Kurtz has devoted a total of approximately 18 minutes to the controversy surrounding remarks made by Sen. Barack Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. In contrast, Kurtz has led only brief discussions on two religious figures who have endorsed Sen. John McCain and who have made controversial comments -- a single two-minute discussion on Rev. John Hagee and only seven seconds on Rev. Rod Parsley.
Much more

This guy is funny, really. Does he think that just because he has been in "politics for a very long time" that we somehow are clueless as to Obama's record (or lack thereof) and alliances and should just take HIS advice? Andrew said, "We need to try to stop this process now." Nicely put, you idiot, I thought only the Republicans believed they were above the "little people" of America. How's that for letting the will of the people known? I thought the democratic way was to let all votes count. Phu-lease! And as to the points he makes above, Obama is the most far-left liberal out there (note - see Senate record) and his alliances are just starting to get reviews, unlike most politicians (he is one, sorry to burst the Obamanation bubble) who get vetted as soon as they announce their candidacy. The centrist Democrat in all this is Senator Clinton, duh, and although she has her own history, she doesn't stand on a pedestal and pretend she is "new politics". She knows what Washington is about and has reached across party lines many times to get things done and she will continue to work her butt off for us as President. Obama and his doublespeak scares me, seriously. He had YEARS to distance himself from his "controversial" pastor whom he obviously knew was too polarizing to invite to his convocation. Now he really gets mad when the Pastor "disrespects" him. Give me a break Obama! How about having that same strong feeling when Wright is disrespecting America, not just you! Obama says or does one thing, then denies and eventually explains away those issues once everyone sees the proof. That's "new politics"? Ugh. This guy is a joke, only I am not laughing.

hey JAKED, you seem like an intelligent person and fellow human. i will never allow our differences in opinion to escalate into a fight that does not promote peace between us.
i do see a difference in how you use baracks given name.
4give me and correct me if i'm wrong but, it does come across as if you want to point out that his name sounds like the name of the cruel dictator from iraq. as if there was some political or idealolgical connection between them.
i would hope that you would not be trying to imply or suggest that people should question barack's loyalty to god and country because of your use of his name in capital letters.
say it aint so bro...and yes, i do consider you to be my brother......

To All Strong Hillary Supporters:
I'm a Black American who is making a sure and true statement that I will standby until after the election, If Obama gets the Nomination please do not unite behind Obama or the Democratic Party, I will be leaving this party if he's nominated, because Hillary was not treated fairly throughout this process by the gender-biased media, Obama and his campaign staffers, Obama is the wrong candidate at this time to be our Commander and Chief, he's to inexperienced to handle and fix this mess Bush will leave behind, we must send a message to the DNC and the gender-biased media that they do not have the right to pick our President for us, why should we unite behind a party that's still full of gender-biased males and a few females as well, and don't know how to pick a Presidential candidate.
If Hillary is not the nominee, vote for her as a write-in, stay home, vote for McCain, or Nader, but definately not Obama, people would rather have an inexperienced male over an experienced female to be President, Obama is just not ready for this position, too weak-kneed, a whuzz, complainer and whinner when things don't go his way, Obama is really a whimp with an eloquent voice, we need strength and know-how, and experience from a President during these troubled times, Hillary is better prepared to meet that challenge and do the job of the Presidency effectively over Obama who needs lot's of "On The Job Training before he could even start to be an effective President, he's too green and need more time in the Senate to lean more about the workings of the government before he tries to step into such a high position.
Hillary has been thrown under the Bus for a candidate who just came on the national scene 2 or 3 years ago preaching false hope and change, Obama is no different than any other politican, please don't allow him to sucker or bamboozle you into voting for him, because he really don't know what the heck he's doing, if Hillary was involved in a racist church for all these many years, my race of people meaning Black would be marching in the streets singing "We Shall Come Someday" etc etc, my fellow Black Americans, such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be on the News Channels everyday demanding that Hillary drop out of the race, but Obama seems to get away with any scandal he's involved in, so if Obama becomes the nominee, No Hillary Supporter should stand by him or this Democratic Party, because he's not the right Black Man to run our country, in fact, I'm very leary of Obama, I think he has more drama in him that has been yet to be revealed, may not found it out until it's too late to do anything about it, Wright has more to say about Obama too, just stay tuned, this mess is not over yet, no matter how Obama tries to move on and cover this thing up even further. I just don't trust this man, and I beleive it would be a grave mistake to make this man our Democratic Nominee or President.
Also, if Obama becdomes the nominee, show your support for Hillary by voting for her as a write-in over Obama, we must try to block this man's Presidency before he messes this country up even more, In my opinion, he does not know what the heck he's doing, being a eloquent speaker of Hope, Change, and a different kind of politics in office Slogans does not equate to him being a competent effective President, especially when a lacks the experience to carry out hs duties. Don't vote for Obama based on his speeches, race or gender, but on has experience and qualificans to do his job, which Hillary already meets that criteria, and people who are jumping ship to Obama is very disloyal to the former President who thought enough of them to appoint them to a cabinet position, what traitors and Judas's they are, Hillary does not need these type of people anyway, because they are back-stabbers and not dependable to be there when they need them the most Hillary and Bill should chalk it up to a great leaerning experience, meaning there are no true loyalty amongest politicians.

Turn out the lights the party's over Hilldog. The gas tax (now universally agreed to be a potential disaster) was the final nail in the coffin. Just no integrity. We have had that for 8 years. Now let's get out of this war, re-establish our good name as strong and caring people that don't let their own citizens die to protect profits, and go after the Al Qaeda training camps at Pakistan -Afghanistan border.
It would be such a positive start, that alone would held expedite.

What exactly are you highlighting about his middle name?
I guess there is a point to it other than to insinuate he is a closet Muslim? A point other than fear mongoring? Are you simply enlightening us as to his lovely arabic translation of Hussein? Wow thanks for the origin of the name lesson. Thats right at the top of my list of important items to learn about, absorb, and discuss. Did you know that the Hampster is originally from Syria? Thats equally as important.

Governor Dean,
As a voter for Universal Healthcare, which is supported by Hillary Clinton and Ralph Neider, I think it's time to give 2+ MILLION voters of Florida and Michigan their FAIR SHAKE and include their INTENDED(not split - that does nothing) votes for the Presidential Primary.
Obama is being FORCED to the top, first by the nonsensical caucus process and secondly by the press being in his pocket.
Obama's dirty connections to very questionable characters are coming out of the woodwork and have made him UNELECTABLE in the fall.
In a recent poll, more Obama supporters were shown to be willing to switch to Hillary than vice-versa. This means so much for the Democratic party, and it's because people like me will vote for Mr. McCain if Obama is forced as the candidate.
If Primaries as opposed to caucuses were held originally, we would already have our candidate, and it would be Hillary.
So please, it is mandatory that FLA and MI are given their fair amount of delegates to make this contest fair.
Sincerely,
Working Class Voter
Go Hillary!!

Who is Joe Andrew these days? It turns out Insurance lobbying forms are behind his switch over in order to defeat Universal Health Insurance Coverage for the people.
Joe Andrew works for Washington lobbying firm (Sonnenschein Dot com) whose office is run mainly from fees paid by Insurance Companies. Everyone one knows these Insurance Companies are dead against Universal Health Insurance Coverage for all the people.
These insurance companies are in full speed in support of Obama now. It is becoming clearer and clearer now, Obama candidacy is also in the pocket of Insurance Companies. They want to kill Universal Health Insurance for all the people.
If you believe Universal Health Coverage is your right, you need to investigate fast.

Why doesn't the media cover Clinton's upcoming trials? One for fraud and the other is of their contributor, Hsu?
Probably because no one takes her seriously anymore.
The whole guilt by association thing is stupid beyond reason. The only ones pushing it are the Clinton people and the McBush people.
Or has Mr. Andrews puts it:
"they will use the exact words that Republicans used to attack me when I was defending President Clinton."
Because it's all they know.

Sick of Jake D:
Sorry you are feeling ill. Since I am not a bigot, my purpose in bringing up Obama's middle name is to get little-known facts out into the public -- for instance, did you know that HUSSEIN means "handsome" in Arabic? Even if you did, there are still American voters out there who don't (yet). Are you ashamed of his middle name?
Anonymous at 3:47 PM:
First of all, I don't hide behind anonymous postings. Second, I am not a "hypocrite" (I donate to World Vision in Africa), but whether a candidate for President donates only to white charities or only to black charities is at least as relevant as belonging to all-white country clubs, etc. Lastly, I am not "one of hilary's high school drop outs" (nor am I Catholic). I graduated at the top of my Stanford Law School class -- how about you?

If one of obama's supporters had jump ship to clinton's side, her mindless drones wouldnt complain. Superdelegates can change their minds from Obama or clinton anyday....and for those who feel that clinton can win in 2012, think again..she is damage goods...some fresh face, senator edwards will kick her ass....at least he didnt divide the party...OR I GUESS THE REPUBLICANS WILL ALWAYS BE IN POWER, CAUSE OBAMA'S SUPPORTERS WILL ALWAYS VOTE FOR THE OTHER SIDE OVER HER....SO YOU ALL GO RIGHT AHEAD SO-CALLED DEMS...THERE WIILL BE A SHOW DOWN IN 2012...THE GOAL IS TO KEEP CLINTON OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE.

This campaign has brought about a lot of private eyes ... major sleuths.. a bunch of ignorant morons....Why is it that every time a superdelegate supports Clinton, he is applauded and when one supports Obama, he is somehow a traitor, a Judas, doesn't mean anything. Is there anyone in the Democratic Party who doesn't owe the Clintons something and fears for their life ?

I think what really happened is that America woke up and decided that it DIDN'T want Obama, causing the superdelegates to have to rush in to try to shore up his status as the "anointed" one.
Which, incidentally, is pretty analogous to what the Republican Party did in pushing John McCain out of the race in order to advance their leadership's hand-picked candidate . . . George W. Bush.

From ABC NEWS:

This good ole boy is a has been and would have been an absolute nobody without the help of Bill Clinton. Who he supports is not only not relevant, his judgment is as bad as Obama's. He can't seem to make up his mind either.
This is an important role these "super" delegates are playing. They should consider their options carefully before making a decision. Obviously this person jumps back and forth depending on who he sees as ahead in the polls. Well, apparently he made his commitment to switch last week because prudent delegates are holding off until they can judge the situation better.
This person has no one voting for him but I do pity the people who make an effort to switch from one candidate to the other and then that "other" loses. I'm sure the voters will be questioning not only the integrity of the delegate but the judgment.
Apparently, Nancy Pelosi is doing some arm twisting again and this Andrew is another weak-kneed Obama supporter. I know that I personally will not support Sen Casey again. He should have waited to see how our state voted. They gave a big win to Senator Clinton and he was on the losing side. That does not bode well for him.
Posted by: hazwalnut | May 1, 2008 3:15 PM
To Hilleritas and McCainites, please let us rally around Barak now, no more hate. He must do that which every politician must do. But with our support, he will be elected President. Perhaps then a serious discussion on reparations for our past sins of slavery and Jim Crow laws can begin. Once America has paid for it past mistakes by voting for Obama, and the Reparations checks are sent out, then the healing and acceptance of the majority can be considered by the minority. This is the "Change we can believe in!" We paid the Japanese who were interred in concentration camps during WW2, $20,000 each, for 400 plus years of slavery and racism, much more will be required.
Posted by: Obamamania | May 1, 2008 3:15 PM
Although the discussion on this thread has certainly deteriorated into much drivel, I am so glad to note that yet another super delegate has had the courage to stand up to the Clinton machine and switch his support to Obama.
Joe Andrew is a respected party insider. It doesn't matter if WE don't know who he is because the other super delegates certainly do. What he has said today about the damage this prolonged primary squabble is having will resonate with his colleagues.
Also important is that Andrew, like Richardson, Reich and others, has benefitted from long and close-up association with the Clintons. He knows who they are, their values, and how they operate. If he says it is time for a change, he knows whereof he speaks. He is not in this for personal gain, he is speaking for the good of the party and of the nation.
Bravo to him and may many more join him in supporting Sen. Obama.

Observing Bill Clinton's almost daily petulant temper tantrums when an audience member expresses support for the Obama candidacy suggests that Slick is very close to loosing it. The "serial groper" is unable to accept the fact that he's trying to peddle a defective product; i.e. the Serial Enabler, Hillary. This is a woman who hasn't managed so much as a corner vegetable stand, or for that matter her own marriage; but, of course you could count Whitewater, and her tenure as "Madam" for Bill's White House Brothel. So what possibly is there that qualifies Bill's official "Bimbo Containment Chief" for the Presidency? Further, Hillary's increasingly frequent crying jags raises a legitimate concern about her mental stability. But, having meticulously planned their coveted return to the White House for several years now, the Clintons will certainly not exit the scene with grace or dignity. This is the political duo that honed "The Politics Of Personal Destruction" into an artform; and, most certainly will not tolerate, who is in their mind, the "upstart Obama" to derail Hillary's pre-choreographed coronation. More and more Democrats are disappointed by the vicious Clinton campaign. What the US needs is a calm, intelligent President who can stay cool in difficult situations. What the US does NOT need is a well-meaning but disorganized person who flies into temper tantrums and always blames other people for her many mistakes.
Posted by: Bodo | May 1, 2008 2:48 PM
The supers who are changing sides must know about dirt on Billary that the public does not know yet. If Billary has bigger dirt on them then the Wright thing on Obama, then the Democrats will be crucified in November. I hear a lot about the Peter Paul fraud case against the Clintons. Probably the start of a lot more scandals to come. No wonder the Republicans are aiding and abetting Clinton to become the nominee. She is their ticket to the White House and they are licking their chops. The Republicans are afraid of Obama because they know that they will lose against him.
Democrats, we should all keep a cool head and let us not be fooled by the Republicans' tactics. God help us all!

One again another true American showed the courage to stand up and raised his voice in this historic time. Thank you Joe Andrew, u are the real American once again, loudly says, we don't want to our future to in peril.
All this lobbyist, big corporate in Washington are use their money power, and media support to distract average people from the real issues we are facing
They want Obama to be out from race coz, they always want to their greedy interest to make money and power by imposing hard ships in 99.9% Americans here
look around the real facts , we are losing jobs every day, we borrowing Chinese money and spending for oil and war , our kids are dropping from school , majority Americans suffering without health care even people with insurance , how much money these drug companies are staling and this corporate medical lobbies
am a doctor , I can see a lot , lot people , with so much illness , not taking any medication or abusing with over the counter , non prescription meds , who is responsible for this , we suffering in the world's richest , mighty nation and less than 1% populated politicians' and lobbyist enjoying all the benefits in our country
They want Obama to be not president they want either Hillary or McCain to be next president, coz both are part of their stakes.
Both just faking the truth and facts, and just want to president and want more rich
How many people know how much their income , John maccians wife is has share in profits of Budweiser bear company , Clintons made 109 $ mill9ons last 6 yrs BY " PREACIHING" around the world
These are the issues we have to open our eyes to see , how our future will be, if we are in dept, our kids don't go school and college, our industries dying, paying millions for oil , other countries like India and china are growing in every field . Not a Psycho Jermaya right , or wearing a pin , is our issue,
I don't say Obama is perfect, he never be, no one in our country too, but I strongly believe, lot of open heart people love our country , love our grandparents, parents and our kids , and uphold our values , will stood up and start this movement and says enough is enough , we need a leader ship once again , lead our country as the leader of the world to solve all our problems, and rest of the worlds survival.
