Live, from Northwest Indiana

By Garance Franke-Ruta
CNN is reporting that there are more than 11,000 outstanding uncounted absentee ballots in Gary, Ind., and that Lake County will not report its final election results including that tally, allowing the race to be called, until perhaps as late a midnight.

In the meantime, the Northwest Indiana and Illinois Times is updating election results live on its blog, and you can follow the blow-by-blow here.

The latest: Gary Mayor Rudy Clay arrived at his headquarters "Tuesday night with a list of voting results showing overwhelming margins for Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. Many of the districts had Obama with triple-digit totals and Clinton with totals in the single digits or teens. One district had a result of 126-4."

I watched it live on CNN, between 12:00-1;00 am this morning. This Mayor Clay, really asking for someone to come and get him for his attempted tampering with an election. Unbelievable. But you know, Obama's people get away with just about anything. Can you imagine what they'll try to get away with if they win in November? Go Hillary! The only qualified candidate for the office of President who is, thankfully, still in the game. The media will never live it down ... how they kept their heads up their butts while "covering" Obama. Not a free press. Not even a press at all. Hacks.

If an American flag pinned on the lapel "proves" patriotism, then we really don't need any of the airport security. Why not just check the lapel? Who was the genius who asked that question? And what about his/her IQ? High teens?

You've got to love the fact that Lake County Indiana, arguably the most corrupt county in the nation, is keeping the nation on pins and needles regarding the outcome of the race.

Come to pappa Lake County! Used to work in Hammond. Got a good feeling about this. Hilary may very well wake up to some very bad news. Even in Barack loses popular vote in Indiana, he still has shot at delegate total there.

Gonegonegone, I have been singing that song ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

GARY INDIANA GARY INDIANA...

All of my roots are in Indiana, though I mostly grew up in PA and now live in MD. But my mom always sings the Gary Indiana song, and of course EVERYONE sings the IU fight song, and, well, all I gotta say is that the Hoosiers have already made me so proud of my ancestral home, and the Gary results aren't even in yet.

Indiana, Our Indiana, Indiana, we're all for you!

Oh yeah, and a shout-out to my people in West Lafayette, and especially to my folks down in Sullivan County - you only went 33% for Obama, but I love my Sullivan County all day anyway.

Go Obama for America!!!

The eyes of the nation are upon you.

Gary, Indiana, Gary Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
Let me say it once again.
Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
That's the town that "knew me when."
If you'd like to have a logical explanation
How I happened on this elegant syncopation,
I will say without a moment of hesitation
There is just one place
That can light my face.
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,
Not Louisiana, Paris, France, New York, or Rome, but--
Gary, Indiana,
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,
My home sweet home.

Obama all the way!!!!

Posted by: Anna B | May 6, 2008 11:00 PM

Is it racism when the media and others attack Obama for not wearing a flag pin yet in her speech tonight, and many other times, Hillary's lapel is also missing a flag pin too but no one seems ever to ask her where it is...
