Clinton Lends Her Campaign $6.4 Million

By Matthew Mosk
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton loaned her campaign $6.4 million in the past few weeks in an attempt to keep pace with the prolific fundraising by Sen. Barack Obama, and her aides said she would continue to dip into her personal account if necessary, campaign officials said this morning.

The campaign said Clinton made three separate loans leading into the Indiana and North Carolina primaries, of $1 million, $5 million and $425,000. Earlier this year she loaned the campaign $5 million -- a move that triggered a wave of contributions from small donors over the Internet.

"The campaign is continuing to raise an awful lot of money, but Senator Obama, to his credit, is also raising an awful lot of money," said Howard Wolfson, a Clinton campaign spokesman, during a conference call this morning. Wolfson said Clinton made the loans out of a "commitment to being competitive with Senator Obama on TV" and she is "willing to do so going forward in order to insure that our message is getting out."

The loans came as Clinton struggled to match the fundraising strength of Obama online, and keep pace with Obama's prolific spending on television and field operations. After her win in Pennsylvania, Clinton aides said she raised $10 million in Internet contributions. Last night, as she spoke in Indiana, Clinton's victory speech began with an appeal for more money. During this morning's conference call, Wolfson was asked if a similar rush of contributions had followed. He said he had not checked on those figures yet this morning.

Wolfson was also asked whether the loans were drawing on her personal income, or on the joint income of both the senator and former president Bill Clinton.

"There is no distinction between her share of their joint assets and her money," Wolfson said in response. "Legally she is entitled to use up to 50 percent of their jointly held assets, if she chooses. She's actually made about $11 million from her book and her Senate salary."

Wolfson said he was hopeful that, like the last time Clinton loaned the campaign money, supporters would see the loans as a sign of Clinton's personal commitment to the contest, and perhaps follow suit with their own donations.

"I think our supporters are impressed with her willingness to continue this contest in the face of so many voices telling her to get out," he said.

So hillary runs up the credit card on her losing campaign, only to demand Obama pay it off if he wants her to tell her fanbase to support the best candidate for President in the general election!?!

What kind of blackmail is THAT?

Mighty "patriotic" of you, 'hilly.

Explain how Barack Obama's cronies stole all those states, please. I have no idea what you're talking about. References would be nice too. Also, please stop the insults. We're not children here.

Way to go, Aaron, my man. You say: "If Obama wins, I vote for a Democrat for the first time in my 67 years; if Hillary wins, McCain gets my vote."

I connect with you because I am 59 years old and a life-long Democrat, but I went with Reagan way back when. I appreciate what you are going through. Keep in mind that the numbers are fairly clear as to who will be the Democrat to face Sen. McCain in the fall (Obama, Obama, Obama).

May I say that you are a very open person because you will be judging the candidates on what they do and say and not merely aligning yourself with your traditional party line?

You also talk about integrity, which everyone knows is sorely lacking in politicians -- I guess they are too busy golfing in Scotland to worry about ethics.

Regarding Sen. Clinton, she seems to make the story up as she goes. It is very hard to predict her on the issues because her stance changes with the political wind. The White House must be a very potent calling card for the Clintons.

Lastly, when you say that Obama "speaks well, makes people believe in themselves as an agent of change," you remind all of us of the Kennedys, Reagan, Roosevelt -- none of them policy wonks -- but great orators who could inspire and lead a nation.

I do believe that Sen. Obama WILL be the nominee and the elected president and then your "agent of change" for the next
four, or hopefully, eight, years. He just needs thinkers like you to do it.

Posted by: post2beach | May 7, 2008 10:41 PM

What a bunch of morons you are. Obama will never win in November. He is going down, he is not electable. My goodness the only democratic president elected in the last 28 year has been BILL CLINTON, and you so called "democrats" are back mouthing him? He won as a moderate democrat, do you think Obama will win with a party of elitist liberals and AA? Add to that Wright, Ayers and Rezko, he is chopped liver in November. Middle America will never elect him and he will be in great company with Kerry. Now I understand why is it that the moderate voters leave the democratic party, and pretty soon I will have no second thoughts in joining the group of ex-Clinton democrats for McCain.

Aaron:

You are aware that North Carolina has not voted for a Democrat in any Presidential Election since LBJ, right? I would have to double-check on Indiana. Beside than the gas-tax holiday (which Hillary and McCain were both FOR), what is different between the policy positions of Barack HUSSEIN Obama and Hillary DIANE Clinton that a so-called Republican would vote for one but not the other?

You ask why can Clinton can't close the deal? Well my question to you is why hasn't Obama closed the deal?
stop the whiny mouth.
Let him begin to beat J mccain in the battleground states and the superdelegates will close the deal for him, but the cutsey thing is he can't beat mccain where it means something.

I just finished reading all the posts-pretty entertaining. A life long Republican, I began donating to the Obama campaign some months ago. He seems to have integrity (something I cannot say for Billary), he speaks well, makes people believe in themselves as an agent of change. Based on No. Carolina/Indiana results, many people believe that he could be a terrific President.

If Obama wins, I vote for a Democrat for the first time in my 67 years; if Hillary wins, McCain gets my vote.

Bush-Cheney Israel Disinformation Campaign to Justify an Attack on Iran

Campaign's Overall Design and Objectives

The Bush administration and Israeli government appear to be operating a joint disinformation campaign, whose objective is to establish a media based alternative reality from which to accuse Syria/Iran of developing nuclear weapons with help from North Korea, by using a real event combined with planted stories establishing a defining narrative. This accusation in turn is augmented with stories about Iranian sponsored "Special Groups killing US troops in Iraq" and purported naval incidents the Persian Gulf, creating self-reinforcing, media based crisis.

The immediate purpose of this disinformation campaign is apparently to help justify the planned US attack on a wide range of Iranian industrial and military targets. And, as in the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the objective is to swiftly inflict substantial damage to the national infrastructure of Iran, followed by an abrupt cessation of attacks and a call for a cease-fire to prevent substantial Iranian retaliation. Again, as in the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the US likely will resist calls for a cessation of the attacks until a significant portion of the Iranian target set has been addressed, then it will accept calls for a cease-fire and demand Iran do the same.

Any subsequent attacks by Iran would probably be characterized by the US as Iranian aggression, further justifying US follow-up attacks on remaining Iranian assets as defensive measures. The transparent duplicity of such US actions and claims is not a problem because US corporate media is prepared to report repeatedly the administration's claims with little or no criticism or mention of alternative assessments. In other words, subjecting its audience to blatant propaganda masquerading as journalism, which is effective as it is because of US corporate media's quantitative monopoly on information provided the public.

As far as can be determined, no credible or even plausible evidence for any of these claims has been presented by the Bush administration, let alone by any independent verification of such claims. Instead, in the pattern similar to the disinformation campaign before the invasion of Iraq, questions about these claims, when raised at all, are ignored or "answered" with repeated or additional claims. Essentially this disinformation campaign, as all such campaigns, is an elaborate set of lies to deceive an enemy, in this case the Unites States Congress and the American people, in pursuit of Bush administration secret policy objectives for the benefit of a foreign government.

Campaign's Origin

The origins of this disinformation campaign was the the Bush administration's appreciation in the late summer of 2007 that the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) subsequently released in November 2007 would undermine its attempts to claim Iran was developing nuclear weapons, the then primary justification for an attack on Iran. When it became clear to the Bush administration that the intelligence community would issue the 11/7/07 NIE, completely undermining the administration's claims of Iranian nuclear weapons development, they apparently decided, instead of accepting this judgment or objecting to it within official channels, that an alternative foundation needed to be established for its planned attack on Iran. This alternative would bypass not only the US intelligence community's collective assessments, but also the judgments of the United States' Joint Chiefs of Staff military command.

Essentially, the Bush administration, in cooperation with a foreign government, Israel, decided to bypass the intelligence community as well as the military commands of the United States, in order undertake attacks by US military forces on a foreign nation, Iran, by deliberately ignoring and undermining the judgments of authorities charged by law with informing the US Congress about such data so it can make sound judgments in exercise of its US Constitutional authority over matters of war and peace. Apparently the Bush administration hopes for a fait accompli after attacks on Iran, leaving the next administration with a region-wide tar baby, with Israel the only remaining "friend" in the region, otherwise populated with outright enemies or alienated former allies.

In addition, a likely last minute Israel-Palestinian peace deal negotiated with the unelected Fatah based faction, in which Israel would be granted costly long term aid and security assurances, in exchange for Israeli commitments of limited value and voracity. With Israel positioned to attempt an alliance with the Kurds upon the expected partition of Iraq, following an inevitable US withdrawal. Again, as with the invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration's planning is front loaded, focused on the mechanics of military operations or manipulating public and official opinion, with little or no thought given to what happens next, let alone second or third order consequences, except the general intention to take maximum political advantage of any resulting crisis.

On the face of it, some elements of the Bush administration's undertaking appear to be acts of treason, by giving aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States, in as much as it aided Israel to act in its own interests and without regard for, or to the detriment of, the manifest interests of the United States; however, we defer such judgments to another, more appropriate venue, and only pursue our limited assessment of the administration's actions with regard to their immediate objectives.

First Overt Act

The first known overt act in pursuit of this effort, besides Israel's attack on Syria, was a letter Bush wrote to the North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, as reported by the BBC on December 6, 2007, wherein Bush asked the Korean leader to reveal any assistance to others in the development of nuclear weapons. While a matter of speculation, this letter combined with other demands by the US government, were meant to pressure the North Korean government into making accusations against Syrian and Iran, in exchange for concessions in the form of released impounded funds and oil shipments promised as by part of the US-North Korean agreement on its weapons development program. According to the NYTimes Dec 15, 2007 report, Bush wrote a letter to the North Korean leader demanding, among other things, he reveal who he have helped with his nuclear technology, as specified in the nuclear declaration or so-called "come clean" section of the US-North Korean agreement.

Because the usual glacial movements of North Korea's foreign policy were incompatible with Bush administration's Iranian timetable, attempts were made to pressure North Korea to give in sooner to US demands by the end of the year, but as U.S. Will Hold North Korea to Nuclear Commitments by Reuters 01/03/08 reports, these efforts failed thus far. Instead, North Korea made a forthright statement, North Korea Says Earlier Disclosure Was Enough by The New York Times 01/05/08, which repudiated such claims. Since this was contrary to Bush administration objectives, it was apparently largely ignore by US corporate media. Pressure continues on North Korea to make such admissions.

Change of Policy

Overall, it appears the sudden US agreement with North Korea, after years of the usual "Bush diplomacy" whereby he refuses to speak to the other side until they concede every major point of contention, was an attempt to clear the decks for attacks against Iran. Among the most informed and insightful observers of national security affairs, Seymour M. Hersh, in a video interview at The New Yorker, suggested that a US agreement with North Korea would be among the clearest signs of US preparation for an attack on Iran. He further discusses, in an interview with Al Jazeera on Feb 7, 2008, US intentions and the likelihood Cheney may have overrode US Joint Chiefs of Staff objections to the attack.

As part of the administration's disinformation campaign, Israel attacked a Syrian site, which was later linked to North Korea through a set of stories released over time to give the impression of information being slowly revealed over time, hoping to establish "facts" more firmly than making accusations at the time of the attack on Syria.

US Corporate Media's Role in the Nuclear Weapons Development Story

It appears that certain media outlets were a party to the disinformation campaign, in that they misled their readers and others with stories clearly designed to establish the impression that North Korea was helping Syria, and likely Iran, to develop a nuclear program, to be conveniently confused in the public's mind with the far more costly and complex development of nuclear weapons. Among those noted, Harretz, the Washington Post and New York Times appear to have been willing conduits of this disinformation campaign, since it would strain all credulity to believe they themselves were deceived, especially since no effort was made to report on other observers who question the validity of these claims:

Israelis 'blew apart Syrian nuclear cache', Sunday Times, Sept 16, 2007

Israel, U.S. Shared Data On Suspected Nuclear Site, Washington Post, Sept 21, 2007

Israel Admits To Sept. Air Attack In Syria, CBS News Oct 2, 2007

Israel Struck Syrian Nuclear Project, Analysts Say, NYTimes Oct 14, 2007

Photographs Said to Show Israeli Target Inside Syria, Washington Post Oct 24, 2007

North Koreans said killed in IAF strike on alleged Syria nuclear reactor site, Harretz Staff and Reuters, Apr 28, 2008

It should be noted: All of these ginned-up, hand ringing stories about programs "to develop the capability; to learn technologies; to establish potentials for securing; etc.," not once mention that Israel is armed with several hundred nuclear warheads, some of which are aboard submarines capable of attacking Europe, Russia and the US.

A New Casus Belli: "Iran Is Killing US Troops"

The Bush administration has augmented and subordinated the nuclear issue and naval incidents as casus belli to the "Iran is killing US troops" propaganda offensive, which immerged with the invention of the so-called "Special Groups" by the US military command, first mentioned by the US Military Command in Iraq on July 2, 2007. They took on new life at the end of March 2008, as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP) on March 26, 2008, when military spokesman Major General Kevin Bergner, as part of the US Military's effort to "document" Iranian sponsored operations in Iraq, revealed these "Iranian-supported Special Group criminals" were apparently and suddenly everywhere.

Within a month, hundreds of stories in the US corporate media reported all about these "Special Groups", almost without exception identifying them as Iranian trained and fielded. The NYTimes reported by April 24, 2008 that, "73 percent of fatal and other harmful attacks on American troops in the past year were caused by roadside bombs planted by so-called 'special groups.'" according to "Senior officers in the American division that secures the capital." As far as can be determined no credible or even plausible evidence for such groups has been presented by the US Military command in Iraq. Clearly, weapons stamped with Iranian manufacturing labels, while subject to counterfeiting, would mean little, even if genuine, in as much as such small arms are trafficked throughout the Middle East and indicate nothing about the actions of the government of Iran. Instead, in a pattern similar to the run up to the invasion of Iraq, questions about these claims, are ignored or met with additional claims.

By the time General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker testified before the US Congress in early April, the "special groups" were an established element in the alternative reality maintained by official Washington and US corporate media. In addition, the ever compliant Congress allowed the two to testify for just a single day before the Senate and another day before the House committees in a mockery of oversight, during which not much was made of the question as to whether these claims about "special groups", even if true, legally justified attacking Iran under international law.

It is highly likely arrests of "Iranian agents" and weapons store seizures of "Iranian weapons" will continue, along with "counter infiltration" operations along the Syrian and Iranian borders.

The New York Times Particularly Duplicitous

The New York Times in particular, after its public vows to do better following exposure of its reporter Judith Miller, who made a significant contribution the "Weapons of Mass Destruction" disinformation campaign run out of Cheney's office prior to the invasion of Iraq that ultimately proved to be totally false, now seems to have slipped back into its old habit of blatant pro-Israel coverage and disinformation, while objecting in its editorial page to the very policies it advances in its reporting, making its practices especially duplicitous and irresponsible, given its undisputed influence both on official Washington and the rest of US corporate media.

In another example, a NYTimes Apr 26, 2008 article "Questions Linger on Scope of Iran's Threat in Iraq" that nominally purports to question the US claims about Iranian/Iraqi "Special Groups" and Iranian involvement in training and arming fighters in Iraq; in fact, reinforces such claims using "directly or indirectly quoted unnamed officials an astounding 30 times," according to an insightful analysis of the article by Jeff Huber "When Did Iran Start Beating Its Wife Again?". The importance of the "Special Groups" claims is clear in that the Bush administration has shifted part of justification for a war with Iran to the charge that "Iran is kill US troops in Iraq", adding to this to its "warnings" about naval incidents in Persian Gulf and nuclear weapons development as Casus Belli options.

Recent encounters involving US and Iranian naval vessels show a evolution toward a much more aggressive and manipulative posture in the Bush administration's characterization of these events. The widely reported incident between US and Iranian vessels on January 6, 2008 in the Strait of Hormuz was actually the third such recent encounter. The first two encounters occurred in December 2007, during one of which on December 19, 2007 the USS Whidbey Island fired warning shots toward an approaching Iranian vessel, causing the Iranian vessel to alter course. The first two encounters passed unreported at the time and were largely routine for the area of operations.

However, the third encounter on January 6, 2008 was not only characterized as a far more grave "incident" by official Washington, accompanied by reports by official US sources of threats made against the US vessels, based on video and voice transmission "evidence" released by the Pentagon to vast coverage by US corporate media. Examination of the voice transmission recordings indicated the actual segment containing the only threat was of doubtful authenticity; and, a later release of an Iranian video of the same incident indicated the Pentagon had mischaracterized its own video, revealing another blatant disinformation effort, but received little coverage in US corporate media.

Another two naval incidents have been hyped by US corporate media, one in the Persian Gulf where a US military chartered cargo vessel, Western Venture, fired warning shots at approaching unidentified small boats without known injuries or damage. While the media attention added to regional tensions and increased oil prices, the incident was much like the other incident at the entrance to Suez Canal, except in that case a boat borne local vendor was shot to death by personnel aboard a US military chartered vessel Global Patriot. Needless to say the dead vendor was of little note in US corporate media.

Finally, the Accusations and Warnings

Perhaps the most transparent effort to link the alleged Syrian and North Korean reactors is the Apr 25, 2008 report in the BBC, which included pictures provided the CIA that "said to have been obtained by Israel - showed striking similarities between the Syrian facility and the North Korean reactor at Yongbyon, the US said." The report goes on to note: "The CIA briefing and statement coincides with the end of a two-day meeting between US and North Korean officials on Pyongyang's nuclear programme, which both sides say have gone well - fuelling speculation that a deal may be imminent." What this "deal" is remains to be seen, but bribes paid to a foreign government (North Korea) in exchange for accusations against another foreign government (Syria), in order to justify claims against a third foreign government (Iran) are hardly the stuff upon which grave policy decisions (going to war with Iran) should be made. Unless your objective is to lead the US into yet another war no matter what the facts actually are, as the Bush administration and Israel appear to be trying to do.

Finally, we have Bush himself taking the money shot in the Israeli press, with a truly bizarre parlaying of the accusations against Syria into a warning to Iran: Bush: Revealing details of attack on Syrian site was message to Iran, in a Haaretz Staff and Reuters, Apr 29, 2008, stating that "U.S. President George W. Bush said yesterday he released U.S. intelligence about the nuclear facility that Israel bombed in Syria in September so as to put pressure on North Korea and send a message to Iran that it could not hide its own nuclear program." Apart from the fact that a nuclear reactor is not proof of a weapons program in Syria, Iran is not Syria, any more than Saddam Hussein had anything to do with the 9/11 attacks on the US.

These Bush "warnings" have become a mainstay of US corporate media, in which often baseless threats against others are portrayed as "last, best efforts" to change alleged behavior before action is reluctantly taken, after giving the ever-preferable "diplomacy" a chance. The most blatant example of this is the number of times Saddam Hussein was "warned" about "weapons of mass destruction" and we were all warned about not letting the "smoking gun being the mushroom cloud" as well as warning about his final chances to "come clean." The added virtue of "warnings" is they contain an embedded assertion that the warned party knows full well the truth of the accusation as does the one issuing the warning, as well implying a reasonableness in that the target need only comply to avoid getting what they would otherwise deserve.

Should North Korea finally agree, at likely unknown cost, to "come clean" and mention help to Syria or Iran, such bribery is likely to be no more credible than confessions of tortured prisoners in the Bush administration's special prisons, whether they be "Iranian Agents" or "Terrorists" turned over to US authorities as part of the US's far flung bounty programs. After all, we have all become prisoners to the attendant lunacies of the Bush administration and US corporate media's alternative reality, in which new "warnings" based on disinformation lurk: hair-trigger "facts" poised to "provoke" the US into "defending" itself by attacking Iran, including nuclear program/weapons development; "Special Groups" killing US troops in Iraq; and, hostile naval incidents. By the time time the attack on Iran comes, the US corporate media will be asking why it took the US so long to "react."

The last time I checked, Communist countries were the ones with the suffering people. Capitalist countries had poor people who owned cars. Socialist countries like France have 9% unemployment right now, and the press acts like we have some Depression going on here in the US because we have less than 5%. Last time I checked, the government has not been good at running anything, yet you Dems seem to want them to take over your health care and give you cradle to grave socialism so you can play like children and not have to earn a living or suffer consequences for your own actions. None of this Iraq stuff would have ever happened if Saddam had not invaded Kuwait. None of this Iraq stuff would have happened if Bush Sr. had gotten rid of him to begin with. None of this Iraq stuff would have happened if Saddam had come clean about his weapons programs. None of this Iraq stuff would have happened if Al Qaeda had not flown airplanes into buildings and killed all those people. How can you trust a mad man like Saddam who tried to assassinate your president after that? Clinton did not bring world peace, him and the media ignored the problems of the world in order to make him look good. The dot com boom was going on, which allowed him to pay off the debt because of the increased tax revenue, which disappeared immediately when the dot com boom busted. 911 grounded our airplanes, which grounded our economy for weeks. To compensate, the feds had to lower interest rates. This caused a housing boom/bust. It could be much worse. Just wait until Dems have complete power. Jimmy Carter, here we come!

Great, so if you donate to Hillary's campaign, you're really paying debt service + interest on her loan.....not actually helping the campaign directly, but enriching her personally.

Barack is the only honest person in the running. Vote for honesty or vote for debt, you choose.

Posted by: Stephen in Dallas | May 7, 2008 5:26 PM

I'd be interested in reading an article from the Washington Post regarding what it actually means for a candidate to "loan" her campaign money. Is this a loan without interest? Do future donations go toward paying Clinton back, instead of for future expenses. If she raises the white flag and concedes does the campaign declare bankruptcy and just not pay her back? Do future donations to her Senate campaign go toward this debt? What happens to debts to other institutions incurred by the campaign? Do they take the campaign to court as per a normal bankruptcy?

I'd like to hear more specifics about these "loans" to one's own campaign.

Posted by: Financial | May 7, 2008 5:21 PM

Who pays the "LOAN" back to Hillary? I don't see a "LOAN" as an investment in anything except perhaps more money from the interest earned as in most loans. Also, I can remember Bill taking our SCUD missle technology to China at the end of his last term as President. She said President Bush did this but I couldn't believe this when it was happening so I remember the blurbs. Please, see the light and elect someone that has had to sit down with their loved one and has had to have the real conversation in this crazy world about the reality of the potential ultimate price paid for trying to bring change and has chosen to take the challenge.

You Obama lovers are as ridiculous as the press over this man. He is about to be indicted for his role as Rezniks counsel and you continue to say how wonderful he is. He is just like every other polotician, a self centered, do what ever is needed liar.

Well documented that when he ran for senate he turned his back on his Muslim
"friends" because he needed the Jewish vote to win. Now he needs more than his regular base so again he says and does (Rev. Wright) what he needs to get votes. He is no different than any politician.

Just two weeks ago the polls in NC showed him ahead by 22-28%. He won by 14, not quite the landslide you claim. He lost another state that borders is home (kind of strange or do they know something.) He lost Florida, which much to the press and his other supporters displeasure, will count because of stupid laws, that outway rules!!! On April 4th Mr. Dean said that the Florida Votes will count because of the laws not allowing any other type of election other than the one put into place by the state legislature. So Obama's lead isn't real, doesn't exist, and only the uninformed and willfully ignorant think it does.

By the way don't get me started on Senator Clinton or any other politician. They are are from the exact same cookie cutter. Same defects, same material, just differnt baking times (some are more well done than others!)(

Loan? Why not GIVE the money to her campaign?

Would a loan be repaid by future contributions from supporters?

Oh well, if it does not get repaid I'm sure she will "Write it off" against future income.

Win Win !

Clinton with the same policy of Pro-War. There is no difference between Clinton and McCaine. The end result is 500% gain in HAL (Haliburton) stock since Cheney and Bush War. Dick Cheney as a former chairman with ton of shares is making a killing with a heart of Oil. Over 100,000+ Iraqi's dead and many injured with our cost of $875 Billion. We paid $8.7 million to kill an iraqi while Cheney and Oil Companies are getting super rich. Blood Money. They are WAR Criminals.

It's a setup anyways, of all of the candidates for the democrats, they chose Hillary and Obama...now if that isn't a setup for a McCain to rush in and save us from Democratic torment then I don't know what is.
The republicans know they don't have an open change to be re-elected for the presidency so they jsut have their rep's in demo's clothing pull the curtain strings the right way until McCain seems quite a plus compared to these paling democrats.

To isupreme:

You represent everything that is wrong and terrible in the USA.

Check your facts: Obama authored a lot more than 2 bills and was a co-sponser on one of the largest ethics reforms since the Nixon era.

He has more seat time as an elected official. If you count Hillary's "BOSNIAN SNIPER FIRE ADVENTURE" as foreign policy experience, you're a fool.

Oh and threatening to join the republican party? Thanks for showing us what a weak, spineless pathetic democrat you really are.

I hope you choke.

Why doesn't one of the candidates funnel some campaign money to the Mayanmar cyclone victims? That may help shift the focus of this media circus back to its original point: picking the next President of USA. The first one to do that has my vote.

Quit calling for Hill to drop out, I say let her stay as long as she wants, If she wants to continue to make a fool of herself....let her, besides it intertaining and fun to watch. She and Slick can afford it. Now that New Yorkers know her better, her job as senator will be over. And Bill will dump her for a newer partner, poor Hillary.

#1. allison - the people did not want Ted Kennedy for president. He hung 'til the convention because he was an egomaniac that wanted to subvert the will of the people in order to gain a position of power. Much like Clinton. You can be man, woman, or hermaphrodite and still think you're the bomb enough to make an ass out of yourself. This has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with living in denial.

#2. What kind of interest do you think she'll pay herself for this loan?

Posted by: Changer | May 7, 2008 4:10 PM

I am Krylac, from the planetary system Rylandoo, some 1,100 light years from your Earth. I come from a small planet which is much like your Earth. I come here as a solitary traveler, as I am a bit of a rogue to those of my own race.

Yesterday I landed in the high peaks of your Sierra Nevada mountains, in one of my favorite safety spots here on your Earth, and have spent the last few days watching your political process here in the United States of America through your internet and through my own video gathering technology.

What strikes me first and foremost is the way that Homo sapiens process their thoughts with their Reptilian's mind. Everything is framed as a battle, or a war, a contest, or a struggle. Fear and aggression are the main motivators in this paradigm. This harkens back to the animal state where this 'Reptilian mind" was necessary as a means of survival. Slowly though, the human race is beginning to awaken, to move from this 'Reptilian mind', to a more conscious and aware plane of thought and existence.

I have not been authorized to make this contact with you but after much thought I have decided to place this note here so others might see it. We are sending an envoy to your Earth in your year of 2012. The reason for our arrival has yet to be revealed to you but will become evident soon. A great burden is soon to be lifted from your shoulders. We look forward to forging a new yet distant relationship with you. Now I must travel to my next destination for there are some 1,000 planets of your type in this universe's sector, many of which I have yet to touch down upon. bhaann-loomm^.

For Clinton to LOAN her campaign millions to show that she believe in herself is a no-brainer, LOAN being the key word here, as she intends to get paid back, to donate to, or just plain spend it and not expect repayment, is something the voters would consider believing in. Yhe ol'girl ain't loseing notin....

I hope she swirls around the drain a little longer, I'd like her to spend some more of that 108 million dollars she claimed she "earned" in the last eight years. She's got alot of nerve, thinking she's entitled to be president.

Posted by: Mike | May 7, 2008 3:49 PM

@HailtotheThief. Be careful with your generational dismissals. You don't have a lock on all the hope/promise. And the disadvantaged always have to try harder... we don't have boots on anybody's throats. What some people don't understand is why some minority churches can be provocative and incendiary... why? because they've been disadvantaged, and have to to fight harder to overcome... complacency, etc. Understand that and don't get racist over it.
@Stan UK... don't preach to us, bud. We donate dollars the world around, if we pulled back, it'd be a different world, that's for sure. (No money can't buy love, etc.) Sure we are big consumers (about to be dwarfed by China/India) but we give a lot too... likely more than the UK when it had a bigger 'empire'. Take it easy... we'll get turned around, and make things right. And yes a change in presidents can make the difference...
The reason Obama supporters here are down on HRC is because as someone in second place with a previous sense of entitlement, she has pulled out every stop and SHE has been the negative battling brawler. SHE has, not Obama, who has had to -react- to negativism, not foist it first like HRC. Obama supporters can far more easily come together with fellow dems than can the caustic Clintonites... because simply, many of -them- actually -are- racists. Not a good demographic to lead, support or have support from.
Her Royal Clinton should -not- pay herself back with supporters' money or taxpayers' money. How many millions are enough before she will fund her own campaign willingly and not as a loan? Just another indication of their self-interest. Obama commands an efficient positive campaign... and suppoters expect that experience will continue into the general... and rightfully so. Let's look for a positive campaign between Obama and McCain, both say they want an adult discussion among friends... as it should be as Americans... and not a knockdown dragout fight between enemies, which we shouldn't be... this is all our country (belong to us ;).

In reference to Rev. Wright, why isn't anyone talking about the fact that he was one of a couple pastors who counselled the Clintons during the Lewinsky affair? There are pictures of him arm in arm with Bill Clinton at the White House. Does this sit well with Clinton supporters?

Posted by: Paulina | May 7, 2008 3:37 PM

(CNN)-- Former presidential contender Mitt Romney increased his criticism of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Wednesday taking direct aim at Obama's experience, telling CNN's John Roberts that "the presidency of the United States is not an internship."

"He can read a prompter very well and energize a crowd," said Romney. "But he has not accomplished anything during his life in terms of legislation, or leading an enterprise, or making a business work, or a city work, or a state work. He really has very little experience."

Does anyone else find it slightly ironic that Hillary is loaning her own campaign 6.4 million. If you do the math this comes out to about the same amount as the savings that would be exacted by the American people with her Summer Gas Tax relief program. Both are the same desperate attempt get back into the nomination race which she has already lost. Enough with this needless spending on a campaign that is going no where. She should have just written everyone in American a check for 20 dollars and said 'here is your relief....i'm not running anymore'

Now everyone is considering voting for another republican for another 4 years, what is it going to take to make this nation wake up? You need to watch out for the signs, there all around us. All the politicians are making promises right now, give the demo a chance to see what they can do in 4 years and if they can't pull us out you can vote them out for their 2nd term. But come on people, no wonder the whole world is laughing at us, we can't make smart decisions about who is going to lead our country. Found this gem in our comments: "You can't lie yourself out of anything anymore with youtube, cell phone cams and so on."

Sure, the patriot act, the bush war, and cheney's secret energy were just flukes. Youtube, cellphone cams, and outright traditional media have no affect on a public that will swallow anything wrapped in the words "patriotic" or "freedom". Bush has been pretending to be an advocate of small government while growing government's intrusion into private individual's lives like a communist from the mid 70's.

Posted by: gb | May 7, 2008 2:59 PM

I've read every one of these posts. It seems just about everyone has bought in to the con-game we call our "two party system", and everyone seems to have some little nugget of special knowledge as to why the folks on the other side are a bunch of dirt-bags. And while we conduct that useful debate, the same crowd of power-brokers continues to run the show in Washington D.C., and plunder the basic assets of this nation in order to secure their respective safe-havens.

To put this in perspective, George Bush just proposed we spend $770-million to help feed people who are starving to death in Africa, shortly after he and the Democrat Congress borrowed another $150-billion from the Chinese, so they could send out retail gift certificates to Americans in hopes they would spend more money at Sears or Wal-Mart. (And to distract us from the fact that our dollar-based assets have lost 25% of their value in the last 8 years.)

Terrorist recruiters like that: people who are starving to death are more likely to sign on as suicide bombers, if it buys their kids another week or so worth of survival. Meanwhile, Americans will spend $60-Billion on weight loss goods and services this year. Isn't there something slightly out of balance going on here?

As Lincoln said in 1862: we need to disenthrall ourselves... (Meaning, get our heads out of our rear ends.)

We've got much bigger problems than health care and illegal immigration to deal with. Bees are dying, methane is melting, 20,000 kids are starving to death each day, and the trend is worsening. Eventually, the rest of the world may conclude we want it that way, and when they do, we may not be able to borrow enough money to keep fortress America afloat.

The sooner we get someone in the White House who realizes we need a new game plan, the better. Instead of demonizing either candidate, maybe we should think about where the 300-million of us stand with respect to the other 6.6-billion people sharing this planet, and figure out how to make the whole thing work. Perhaps we, as voters, should try to elevate the debate a notch.

(And BTW Senator Clinton, obliterating "them" is not a particularly intelligent strategy for dealing with the problem...)

Posted by: randy | May 7, 2008 2:59 PM

YesWeCan wrote: Hillary, get out NOW and start helping to re-unite the democratic party... immediately. BTW, here''s what i think is also dispicable... she loaned her campaign her own money, but she is raising money to pay herself back... *WITH INTEREST* no doubt. In any event, her donating $$ to herself is a lost cause. It should be evident where the people are putting their support... OBAMA.

Brimming with unabashed arrogance and numerical arguments that have been clearly flawed, Senator Clinton has been asked to withdraw, regardless that it has been repeatedly said that neither candidate can accrue enough pledged delegates to win the nomination. That "Clinton and Obama remain statistically tied with John McCain in matchups" further repudiates Leahy's rationale, arguments rife with cynicism, Richardson's hubris, and Ms. Pelosi's posturing which is helping the GOP exponentially, it's sad. Silence can be a good thing, especially if it's Floridians who truly need to be silenced. CA, FL, MI, PA, OH, MA, NY are a must.....and, although I like Obama, he hasn't won the most critical blue states...

Senator Clinton has lost. If any of you thinkers out there really want to know about Sen. Obama, his accomplishments and priorities over the past years, check his website and click on Learn.

He works in bi-partisan ways on issues like tax cuts for working families, early education, veterans' disability pay and VA reform, open government as to where our tax dollars go, and much more.

His has been the lead voice, again reaching across the aisle, in championing ethics reform, a huge rock which very few of our politicians, not Democrats, not Republicans, want turned over.

Is the current, greatest danger to the world the proliferation of nuclear material and WMDs? Republican Senator Dick Lugar and Sen. Obama are working on a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world.

In my view, Barack Obama has his priorities straight about what America needs to regain her vitality at home and her security and stature in the world.

America is the richest country in the world, we used to boast. Ah, not true today when her economy has sunk to a point where a family working minimum-wage cannot buy gas to get to work, nor can they afford to feed that family.

Americans don't torture, we used to scoff. Ah, not true under the Bush administration.

Oil is running out. Our country and the rest of the world must work on alternative fuels and higher fuel standards for cars.

Here is a question I have: If the U.S. is not in Iraq to stay, why would our government build a Vatican-sized compound costing about $736 million, the largest U.S. diplomatic mission in the world, with fortified working space for 1,000 people and living quarters for several hundred on a 104-acre site?

I guess that is really a mission accomplished. American voters, please don't stick us with Sen. McCain and get us stuck in Iraq. We could use that money at home.

The man GUSHES over Obama and talks quite a bit about how so many other republicans love Obama. I am tired of hearing all of the whining over Florida and Michigan. If you don't like the rules, get them changed, don't just break them and then cry when you are punished for breaking them.

BRAZILE: Well, Lou, I have worked on a lot of Democratic campaigns, and I respect Paul. But, Paul, you're looking at the old coalition. A new Democratic coalition is younger. It is more urban, as well as suburban, and we don't have to just rely on white blue-collar voters and Hispanics. We need to look at the Democratic Party, expand the party, expand the base and not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I doesn't matter who become president you idiots- I'm talking to the left and the right. What we have here is a benevolent oligarchy. Reading the back-and-forth tripe on this blog comfirms our status of serfs; conveniently fighting among ourselves while others pull the strings. Hillary Clinton is a top-shelf grifter. John McCain, a 70 year old nominee for the Republicans who is actually a liberal, proves the Republicans have lost themselves and are void of new ideas. Barack Obama is accomplishing things that are unprecendented with almost no experience. I wonder how that is? And before you lay this "he has new ideas" on me consider this: he is saying everything every other candidate has ever said..."more jobs, more security, better healthcare, no more war" blah blah. No folks, Obama is where he is because he is clever enough to court the benevolent oligarchy. Sit and think about it before you knee-jerk your reaction to this post. Just to be clear, this system we have is the best on the planet. Many countries stand in awe by our orderly transition of power ever 4 or 8 years. But we as Americans better wake up and realize what's going on here. Because when the oligarchy believes it doesn't need to be benevolent anymore, things are going to get real nasty. Stop drinking the cool-aid- that ALL the candidates are pouring. There a very few decent politicians out there...but we never get to hear about them because they are shunned...hidden away.

History is littered with example after example of what we are going through. I suggest you read it, study it, learn it. Based on some recent "news" articles I've read, I bet half the posters on the blog couldn't tell where Kosovo is. Or even know half of what they should about US and World history. That's a shame- evidence of our demise.

So who pays back these "loans"? Her supporters or taxpayers? And why are they 'loans'? So... she takes either our (taxpayer) money or her supporters' money to keep herself rich (pay back the loans)? She feeds off all of us or just her supporters, like some kind of financial vampire? The rich get rich and stay rich... $100 million isn't enough, I guess. Can't have her spending her own money, no.

Posted by: RR | May 7, 2008 2:41 PM

The management of HRC's campaign is not why she cannot win. It is because people don't like her. She keeps reinventing herself from the experienced candidate to the working girl to the Rocky Balboa but it does not work because there is no Hillary. She is no one but the persona she cloaks herself in order to lure voters. Her stand on issues do not come from her heart. She authorized the war on Iraq because of the needs of the Hillary of the moment, the Hillary in the future did not find it a good stand so she said she was mislead. Now, after refusing to take hypothetical questions on matters of war, she embraced the question about Iran attacking Israel to the point of declaring she would nuke Iran and obliterate the entire country. And why? There can be only on reason - she needs to lure rich Jewish support for her campaign. It is time for Americans to say no to this shameless political freak show and just say "Hill NO PLEASE JUST GO!"

I can't even fathom writing a check for $1 million dollars much less 6.4. It's interesting that she can put that amount of money behind her campaign and call someone else an elitist.

Another thing that comes to mind is if she can personally put that kind of cash on the table she should be able to fund the campaign on her own.

And another thing, is she getting a tax write-off on this spending?

Posted by: | May 7, 2008 2:39 PM

Simply, this is yet MORE evidence of a person that couldn't/can't run a campaign, couldn't/can't surround herself with good people, and has been/is all too willing to sacrifice principles for selfish gain.

Regardless of her strengths, she has demonstrated she just isn't presidential material. Period.

She wants to hang on until the DNC meets at the end of the month to change the rules so Florida and Mich votes can be added\ re-voted. Well what did anyone expect the Clintons to do? They make their own rules and don't follow anyone else's.

I think that if the DNC tries to change the rules after both candidates signed off on them prior to the Fl and Mich primaries the GOP should file a class action law suit against them. They are not RULES if they are not enforced.

Slick Willie challenged the definition of the word "IS" during his Lewinskey scandal and now Hilary is changing the definition of the word "RULE"

Dictionary definition:
Rule;
1. a principle or regulation governing conduct, action, procedure, arrangement, etc.: the rules of chess.

The Clinton definition = "does not apply to me"

This is the first I've known about the additional loans in the last few weeks. Mrs. Clinton, it is time to give up the good fight. Senator Obama has won this nomination, albeit close, and the time has come to help him win the general election in November. You have wonderful followers who will heed your attempt to bring the party together. The goal should never be about one's ego, but the change in direction of America. Demos have chosen, fairly, Senator Obama. I have been a supporter of yours throughout this campaign, but now is the time to do the right thing. Help Democrats win the White House and, just as importantly, win a working majority in the Congress so that new direction is possible. I thank you for your efforts and hope you will put the party and the country's direction first.

I'm a registered independent. I voted for HRC and will vote for her again if I could but at this point it is increasingly unlikely that she'd be the Democratic nominee. I am contemplating voting for BO over JMc. However when I read the mean-spirited and venomous comments against HRC in these blogs, it makes me take a step back and wonder if I'm not better off voting for JMc or just staying home. It would seem to me that at this point you all Dems should be gearing your comments towards uniting the party. For Dems to have a good chance of uniting before November BO's supporters must learn to be magnanimous especially in the blogs. Remember HRC has at least 50% of Democratic following. BO will need a big chunk of that support to win in November. Yes she will appeal to them to support BO but she cannot compel them. Especially if her supporters feel that BO's supporters despise their candidate. Hope this uncontrolled hatred by the so-called "educated" supporters of BO will be toned down a whole lot.

It was Senator Clinton's warlike votes and bellicose mucho macho attitude that have done her in. The October 11, 2002 "blank check" vote, her support of Kyl/Lieberman and her lack of support for the Levin amendment and her general support AIPAC positions are all marks against her. And the comment about "obliterating" Iran, in response to a hypothetical question, should never ever have been uttered. She has run a nasty mean-spirited campaign and she sure looks like more of the same politics we have had for many years. Let her get her victories in Kentucky and West Virginia (which will vote Republican in the fall anyway) and then get out gracefully.

The reality is Hillary is not going anywhere until she gets her money back.

I will also guarentee that she will not loan her campaign anymore money. People incorrectly told her she had a great chance in NC - so she put the money into the campaign...but unfortnately, she listen to the wrong people again.

I think Bill is telling her...keep accepting donations as long as people are willing to give them. I need my $11MM back.

its time for americans to come of age, and get real. stop living on credit and starting wars you cant afford. your government is up to its eyes in unsustanable levels of debt too. you are victims of your own self greed and indulgence. changing your president wont change a thing if you dont change as a nation and individuals. we pay in europe around 13 dollars a gallon for fuel. you still are not paying the real price for your fuel. and probably never will. the rest of the world is getting tired of subsidising your dreams. they are mostly unrealistic and unsustanable and indiferent to the suffering in rest of world.

isupreme-- the Demographic Party did nothing to Michigan and Florida, they were warned by the Party to not move up their primary dates. It was the legislature of both states which moved the dates. They knowingly broke clearly stated rules and were told of the consequences. They did move the dates. As the saying goes "if you want to hear the music, you've got to pay the Piper" Their music was heard ahead of time, now to pay.

There will be a deal worked out behind the scenes of both campaigns. Not to worry Florida, and Michigan, your voices will be heard and your vote will count, in time.

What kind of a criminal could be on the side of an apartheid that keeps a whole nation imprisoned? An apartheid that has brought ruin to our country and the whole world. Can any of you remember the gas lines of the seventies that bankrupted the whole world? Do you want to know why we were attacked on 9/11? Racist speech bothers me and the Obama's explanation that wright was his pastor/mentor for 20 years but yet he didn't know that he had said or believed in things as absurd as the Govt. creating AIDs. Dear Abby,
I am a 60-year-old woman who is married to a man who acts like he hates me. In public, he pretends he loves me and talks about how wonderful I am. But in private, he shakes his finger in my face and calls me the 'B' word. He constantly tells me how ugly I am without make-up. I've tried everything, including a face-lift, botox treatments, and a chin tuck. I even went on a diet and lost 20 pounds. He quit his job a few years ago after having an affair with a woman in his office. He hasn't even looked for another job. We haven't slept together since, I confronted him about the affair. He denied it, of course, but I and everybody knew it. It was humiliating. I believe he is still messing around.
While we both want to sell this house, we argue constantly about when to put it on the market. The house we want will be available in a few months. My husband wants to put our house on the market now. I think we should wait a while. He has already started collecting boxes and packing up his stuff. Do you think he is planning to leave me?
Signed,

Worried in NY

Dear Worried in NY: -
I doubt it. He wants to move back into the White House as much as you do.

Hillary is making the same mistake George Bush (Jr) is making in Iraq as George Bush (Sr) did with Barbara......"didn't pull out in time".

One should know when to quit. Hillary is so adamant on winning that she is willing to throw everything in.....she is willing to part with her money, morals, ethics, conscience, honesty, the future of the democratic party and above all the future of this great nation in order to win.

I suggest to all Clinton supporters that instead of donating to her campaign, "lend her campaign the funds"; and ask for them after she finally throws the towel in.

All I can say to Hillary is "Woman, if you dont have respect for this great nation, at least have a little self respect and bow out graciously."

Hillary Clinton, it seems, will do anything to win this nomination, even if it's mathematically and logistically impossible. Seemingly, nothing short of every super delegate crossing over to Barack's camp will get her to finally see the light.

The fact that, at this late stage of the game, she still continues to dip into her own coffers to fuel her campaign shows, if nothing else, just how relentless she is. The 'fat lady' has sung, done an encore, and has gone home. But, Hillary continues to remain in the race. This begs the question, "Does she know someone that we don't?"

I believe that the fact that Mrs. clinton continues to run inspite of the detrimental effects to her party (losing cohesion) is a testament to who she really is. LOL I couldn't agree more!! If she had ANY faith in herself, she would GIVE her campaign money, like she expects the rest of her supporters to do. That's what Mitt Romney did. Romney put his money where his mouth is. Wouldn't it be nice for the American people to be able to "loan" a campaign money, then get it back at the end of the day? Typical Clinton though, asking for donations to pay herself back. As usual, only "the people" get screwed by them.

Posted by: Martha Davidson | May 7, 2008 2:17 PM

Anyone who sends Hillary money now shouldn't kid themselves.

This isn't going to be campaign spending money. Hillary will use the money you send to pay back her loans to herself when she drops out.

She's literally going to take your money and pocket it, adding it to her vast personal fortune. Incredible, but true.

I read all of this stuff. It is clear that there is an awful lot of negative emotion out there and from this spot, most of it comes from the Obama camp toward the Clintons. That is not a good sign. The natural process for the Democrats has always been to have all the primaries, so why all this noise about stopping the contest? If the Dems fear the Reps, then they should start getting ready because the swift boats are going to bruise whoever the nominee happens to be. I feel sorry for Obama as he seems to be the most ripe for enormous abuse and will probably lose the election as a result. I see no way for the Democrats to win with their heavily faulted planning. I will credit both remaining candidates for hard fought battles with one using technology in an ingenious manner and the other for the creative articulation of our defects needing immediate repair.

It is an absolute shame that they could not have started out as a team with the elder leading the younger and in that manner created sixteen years of democratic rule, which is about how long it would take to fix this mess left by W.

Now we are going to see at least 4 more years of republican presidency. I dont like it but that is what the tea leaves look like.

Loaning your own campaign $6.4 million is NOT giving it to said campaign. It will be a campaign debt which, I am sure, will be repaid. If only the Post (and the other media) would show the details of such loans then we might get a real picture of how political money is manipulated.

Nancy, j:

Wow. Your lack of empathy -i.e., understanding WHY people think what they think, is rather telling. I'd hazard a guess that you were also FOR THE WAR.

A good analogy:
Like everyone after 9/11, I was BITTER. But I was also rational in thinking: "What did we do to deserve it?" As it turns out, its what we haven't done, that justified (in their view, not mine) what was done. We, as a people, have been apathetic to the actions/impact of our Corportations, Banks (WTO, for example), and certainly and vicariously, our own consumerism and waste. Impacts of our reclessness can be seen in every troubled country in the world - they suffer because of us. Our environmental reforms of decadses past have drawn companies who wish not to conform to these regulations into poor countries, exploiting the uneducated workforce and destroying/exploiting their natural resources. (This may bug creationists) Nature is an equilibrium system, and we are apart of nature: our ideas, technology, actions, are rooted in fundunmental laws of nature. Everything we do has a cost.

Back to the argument:
How is this related to Rev. Wright? First, the guy is egotistical, and appears to be a class 'A' jerk. With that said, black theology itself is a product of our ancestors actions, and seeks to "answer the anguished questions of black people who suffer[ed] under the brutality of white racism. It ultimately seeks reconciliation, but you cannot be reconciled with one who has his boot on your neck to keep you in the gutter. To be reconciled you must stand up right to look the other in the eye." (Desmond Tutu, WaPo Onfaith). The point he makes is that Blacks are still oppressed. Don't think so? Then you are truely heartless, as any demographer will tell you half of their job is spent analyzing the poorest of the poors quality of life in our country, who hail from many ethnicities, but are mostly not "light" skinned, save Appalachia. No one white person is guilty - we all are as a society. Subtle and less conspicuous (pardon the phrase, but, Black and White), forms of oppression are still pervasive, and are still widely practiced here in the US: under funded communities, schools, education, sex education, workforce programs, prison rehabilitation, etc, all in "less affluent" areas (e.g., minority), as well as advantages to those with money (e.g., Bush's tax breaks), consitute many of these implicities. Racism is just beneath the surface, and its not gone away - it just can't be seen in broad daylight.

Not understanding the Message and Feelings behind what is clearly and justifiably and Angry and Frustrated worldview is closeminded. Disagree if you like, but at least have the decency to recognize the strength and honor a people show by not giving up, having spent generations to eke out rights that were already granted to "established" citizenry.

We, as a country, are better than both because of, and despite the behavior of our ancestors.

Voting for Obama, whose stump speaches do not do his perspective justice, is not simply a measure of reparation, it is one of honest displeasure with all things status quo. My generation is speaking out. You'd better get used to it.

Sincerley and humbly,

For some reason I never figured out, I always get Clinton campaign emails (I've never seen an Obama one) in my Junkbox.

I got one this morning called "Because of You" which consisted of a small letter saying her success was all because of me, with a cute little Hillary virtual signature and a giant "CONTRIBUTE" button.

Are people going to send her a bunch of money now? I find that hilarious. Hillary LOANS money to her campaign. Her supporters GIVE it.

That means that when she pulls out and closes the fund that was meant to give her her dream job, she will take the money they sent, and put it in her own personal bank account, to get back her $11.4 million-plus.

It will go next to the other $98.6 million in her bank account to pay for the upkeep of her mansions, her vast designer pantsuit collection, Bill's midnight dalliances etc.

She will get her money back from her supporters, and end up making no sacrifice. Her supporters will get an email saying something like "thank you for all you did, it was all possible because of Americans who care like you."

There really is one born every minute.

Is it ethical to discount the voters of Florida and Michigan, where Obama took his name off the ballot because he knew he would lose? Of course not.

It is like watching a train wreck. Once again, the new Democrats are just like the old: picking someone who will never win a general election, a loser.

There is so much more dirt on Obama to be had; the Republicans are rubbing their hands with glee. You Obamistas confuse yourselves with the general electorate. No Republican will vote for him. Even moderate Democrats don't like him.

The reality of the moment is that Obama has clinched the nomination. The only question is why the Clinton's are unable to step aside..Duh er uh. I find the practice of loaning ones-self funds disingenuous. To date Hillary has "loaned" herself 11.4 million dollars. This smacks of skullduggery. She obviously wants to get the money back, hence the "loan". She, like other politicians who have done this, no doubt plans to recoup her funds once in office from all the people then willing to jump on her wagon. Sounds like quid-pro-quo to me. The Republicans would probably kick in a little money too as I'm sure they don't want to run against Senator Obama. Senator Obamas Presidential campaign has the potential of causing a huge number of local and state Republicans to be defeated as well as losing the White House, Congress and more seats in the Senate.

Nobody knows better than the Clinton people about the logic that money follows winners.

This is the reason why they tried to convince the world that she was the winner immediately after her PA win, touting an instant $10 million donation from the internet source.

We are now finding out that probably was spinned out of control as well just like everything else about Clinton, given the near bankrupt state of her campaign.
