Obama is amazing. The day and time is appointed by God. Nothing anyone says or does will discourage him. He threw a free concert (the Decemberists) for students of at least 23 colleges and universities in Portland,Or. (the Decemberists). It was the first decent day of weather for them in a while. The 2 days previous were 95 and 97 degrees. Previous to that, cold and rain. Besides he bussed people in , not counting all people that came for the free concert from Washington. They weren't all there for this egomaniac. OMG! It's the The Messiah!

This is reminiscent of obsessed fans in Japan who would faint at the sight of Michael Jackson, or better yet of Jesus' sermon in Bethsaida: where thousands of men, women and children stood in the sweltering heat hanging his every word. But even 'the son of god' never went as far to say, "You and I together, we'll change this country, we'll change the world." The pomposity of it all!

Free Concert by Popular Band Preceded Obama's Big Rally

Unmentioned in national reporting was the fact that Obama was preceded by a rare, 45-minute free concert by actual rock stars The Decemberists. The Portland-based band has drawn rave reviews from Rolling Stone magazine, which gave their 2005 album Picaresque four and a half stars (out of five), and another four and a half stars for 2007's The Crane Wife.

How many of the people showed up to hear Obama, and how many to hear the band?

There's nothing wrong with a candidate using celebrity power to draw a crowd, but the media have a responsibility to report their presence. By ignoring the free concert, the Times and other outlets made it appear that 75,000 people were drawn only by Sen. Obama's considerable charisma.

Wow. It's obvious that there are some very intelligent people posting. It's also obvious that there are some that are not so intelligent....

I saw the crowd in my city. It was the single largest number of people I've ever seen. No doubt a few thousand came to see the 45 min rock band, but the other 70,000 came to see Obama. You ask anyone in the crowd why they came. It was free, the weather was perfect, and Obama was in town. Portland showed up for Obama when it counts in the end. May that never be forgotten. Portland is progressive--we don't want to recycle old presidents, Clintons, and Bushes, for another 20 years!! Revolving dynasties turn rotten after a while.

For those of you who have made it this far, a little reward is due. This is from a friend's blog about the Portland rally this past Sunday:

A crowd of 475,000 people went to the Obama rally in Portland this weekend. In that crowd were hundreds of people with terminal cancer, crippling illnesses, birth defects, etc. They were all healed. While Obama was there, the Columbia and Willamette rivers ran golden with honey and the salmon grew wings and flew happily on to their spawning grounds. Sea Lions waved at them and sang Sea Lion clan songs of the renewal cycles of life. The Portland Light Rail flew by on rails of spun sugar and all the riders possessed stunning powers of positronic psychokinesis and spent their rides giving each other temporal lobe tickles. Mt. Hood emitted a rainbow sheened plume of smoking precious opal ash, which rose 50,000 feet into the Obamasphere and formed an image of Obama holding an infant in a diaper made from an American flag. Senator Obama's plan to declare himself the Democratic nominee tomorrow night in Iowa (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0508/10184.html) is a slap in the face to the millions of voters in the remaining primary states and to Senator Clinton's 17 million supporters.

There is no scenario under the rules of the Democratic National Committee by which Senator Obama will be able to claim the nomination tomorrow night. He will not have 2210 delegates, the number needed with Florida and Michigan included in the process, nor will he have 2025 delegates, the number needed to secure the nomination without Florida and Michigan.

Premature victory laps and false declarations of victory are unwarranted. Declaring mission accomplished does not make it so.

While Senator Obama inaccurately declares himself the nominee, Senator Clinton will continue to work hard, campaigning for every vote in the upcoming states and making the case that she will be the best nominee to take on John McCain and be our next President.

Wow. Just wow.
This sort of enthusiasm, or even mania is akin to Pre-Teen girls and Hannah Montana, Japan and Michael Jackson, the Germans and David Hasselhoff, or even the French and Jerry Lewis.

The fact that she worked for a die hard segregationist [Goldwater girl] at the start of her career and has lied unneccessarily during her speeches, spins misinforamtion at the drop of a hat and lived a priviledged, suburban life growing up in Chicago, are all reasons to ignore her claims of 'being in touch'with regular people, or for having any integrity or ethics whatsoever. Why isn't she 'fighting' for the first responders of 9/11--they are her constituents and she keeps claiming to be a fighter. If she does not protect her state constituents, why entrust her with the country?

Obama knows the definition of insanity--doing things the same way while expecting a different result--and plans to change the way business is conducted in Washington. I am from Portland, Oregon and I road my bike downtown and the picture is REAL it was so crazy down there the streets were crowded, it was hard to walk anywhere, there were bikes locked up everywhere some even vertical in the air. I finally went on the east side of the river where I could see the rally across the river and it was packed. I think its hilarious that people are saying its fake or spent time examining the photo. To them I say, you are just wasting your time. Anyway, It was such an amazing day and feel very lucky that I could be there.

He is, in fact, the exact opposite. For example, how can someone claim to be a "uniter" when their religion is based upon racism, i.e. black liberation theology. Here is a statement from James H. Cone, one of the founders of black liberation theology, about the nature of Obama's religion, and you tell me if it is consistent with "unification."

"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."

If all Americans understood even this single issue, then much of his support would dry up overnight.

Whats so funny to me is after some people yapped about how horrible Rev Wright was...look at the lengths these pitiful Republicans will go to spread hate. I always thought THEY claimed to be the party of such high Morals. Just let them post their hate and lets continue to have our party.
