John McCain
Tancredo Questions McCain
By Jonathan Weisman
He may be the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party, but John McCain has yet to heal all the wounds on his right flank.
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.), a failed presidential rival of McCain's and an anti-illegal immigration gadfly, launched into the senator from Arizona for meeting in secret with Latino leaders last week in Chicago. One participant in the meeting emerged to criticize McCain for taking a tougher stand on illegal immigration on the campaign trail than the line he allegedly used behind closed doors. Now, Tancredo is taking up the cudgel in an open letter to his party's presumptive nominee.
"Recently in Chicago, you had a closed door meeting with a group of Hispanic leaders," he wrote. "Strangely, the closed door meeting was not on your official events calendar, no press was invited and no press release appears to have been issued. Yet, according to several news reports, you promised the group that you plan to pursue 'comprehensive immigration reform.' Senator, given your past sponsorship of amnesty legislation, such statements raise troubling questions. Are you planning to break a promise you made in February to postpone all other immigration reform legislation until we have first secured our borders?"
Ahead of a scheduled McCain appearance in July before the National Council of La Raza, Tancredo warned, "I challenge you to deliver a message to that assembly which does not pander to their amnesty agenda. You should speak to the La Raza convention and to all Hispanic audiences about America's need for secure borders as a priority above all other immigration reforms. Moreover, I hope you take that opportunity to make it clear that it is in the long term interest of Mexico and other Latin American nations to halt the massive out-migration of their citizens."
McCain has promised Republican lawmakers and activists that he will set aside his push to grant illegal immigrants a pathway to citizenship, at least until he can certify that the U.S. borders have been closed to illegal immigration. At the same time, he has tried to win back support from Hispanic voters who have fled the GOP since the party took up the immigration issue fervently in 2005.

Illegal immigrants are criminals! Who can deny this? No to amnesty. That will lead to 14 million more illegal Mexicans breaking into the U.S.
Illegals do get some benefits, public education cannot be denied to illegal children. Illegals get other social benefits in states that they have overwhelmed, such as, California. I would like to see some news stories and stympathy for U.S. citizens whose identies have been stolen and abused by illegal immigrants.

Both Democratic and Republican candidates have stated that our immigration system is completely broken, and I agree with both candidates comprehensive immigration reform is desperately needed.

The last attempts in Congress to grant amnesty, many mini amnesties, SCHIP for illegals and other TAX PAID Benefits to illegals were opposed by nearly 80 percent of the American public.
Now, 90 percent of Americans refuse to listen to the BS comprehensive amnesty and SPP proposals. One whisper of it in Congress will be met by an avalanche of faxes, phone calls and emails. The congressional representatives and Senators know it is a non starter for both McCain and Obama.
Our House members are elected (or not) every two years and they will not sacrifice their jobs to appease a foreign government while alienating American constituents. And, no President is that stupid to try to usurp the will of an angry fed up nation.
There will never again be another illegal alien amnesty and, if enough citizens start calling their representatives and Senators this week, we can win the war against the illegal invasion before November.
Build the Wall! Enforce immigration laws in ernest and the illegals will self deport. Deny illegals public benefits. Change the 14th amendment to prevent its abuse by illegal aliens. Make English the national language and save $100 billion a year. Call your Senator today and demand he vote for American security, sovereignty and the 90 pecent of citizens who are fed up with illegal aliens abusing our nation.

I myself welcome the Hispanics. I like everything about their culture, which stands in stark contrast to my own (wonder bread and pot roast). You guys have made the USA everything it is and more. I hope I live long enough to be considered a minority to the point that I want to move to a Latin Country. The one thing I do know, I will be treated far better than you guy's are treated in this sad Country of Bigots. I apologize for the ignorant whities, who have this need to protect the white people. Too many comic books as a child, not enough history. I should also note I was a BIG supporter of the last Amenesty program, and that is what really flushed this country into the economic powerhouse that Bush subsequently destroyed.

Why condemn McCain for seeking the support on non-traditional Republican voters. Obama has been going around kissing everyone's ass lately (for those he hasn't bought off) and you don't condemn him. You think it's just wonderful to even think of it. I believe he was the one who stated that the Hispanic/Latino citizens were stealing jobs from "his people". Now, he wants their support. So, stop being so biased and hypocritical when McCain seeks and speaks to all of the masses. The writers at the Post are becoming no better than those at Newsweek and we all know that they've been on the Obama train since day one.. Have some respect and common decency.

All the 08 Pres politicians are idiots.
MALDEF, Laraza and Calderon et al all want family reunification after the illegals get amnesty.
The US already has 20 percent of El Salvadors popualtion - that popualtion would double with extended family reunification.
If given extended family reunification under a grand amensty, Illegal Mexicans
would grow the US populatrion by 50 million over night.
The US is full. It is time to place a moratorium on all immigration and Visas until we can sort out who is here, kick out the MS13 and Al Queda and then decide what is best for America and Americans not the special ethnocentric interest groups.

With the extremist anti-American supremacist propaganda spewed by the pro amnesty groups - Fidel Calderon, Mexicans without Borders, Council LaRaza, Mecha, LULAC, MALDEF etc, sometimes it is easy to forget that Americans of all descents are opposed to illegal immigration and the "special interest" demands of the above open border gangs.
Case in point is Rosanna Pulido who was the critic in the secret Chicago meeting.
"He's one John McCain in front of white Republicans. And he's a different John McCain in front of Hispanics," complained Rosanna Pulido, a Hispanic and conservative Republican who attended the meeting.
Pulido, who heads the Illinois Minuteman Project, which advocates for restrictive immigration laws, said she thought McCain was "pandering to the crowd" by emphasizing immigration reform in his 15-minute speech. "He's having his private meetings to rally Hispanics and to tell them what they want to hear," she said. "I'm outraged that he would reach out to me as a Hispanic but not as a conservative."
Rosanna Pulido and Tom Tancredo both know that time has come for the United States Congress and WH to stop looking the other way and to act on behalf of this nation's sovereignty, security and citizenry first and foremost.
OBama and McCain need to learn that - especially McCain as Bob Barr is at the border fighting the corruption McCain and Obama want to legalize.
No Amnesty! Build the double layered Wall! Deport the illegals or make them self deport! Make English the national language! Rightly translate the 14th Amendment and legislate the end of abuses to birthright citizenship (Pass HR1940).

Keith Juba,
Tancredo couldn't win for a couple of reasons. He was mostly a one-issue candidate, and he has no name-recognition. Simply put, most voters check off the name on the ballot that is most familiar to them. Obama may be an exception to that rule, but he is a very rare exception. The names you hear the most get the most votes.
McCain will likely betray us with an amnesty if elected, but don't forget that his campaign was in tatters until he "toughened" his position on illegal immigration. In the minds of many conservatives, he then became the only hope for a possible Republican win.
Tancredo lost because he came across as unlikable and seemingly unschooled on other important issues. That doesn't make his position on illegal immigration wrong.

Dissatisfied with teaching in Spanish 85 percent of the time, a North Carolina superintendent is pushing for a $10 million budget that includes a plan for a school where only Spanish is spoken.
Superintendent Peter Gorman pitched his proposal to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school board today, with provisions to turn Collinswood Elementary into a Spanish program. Nora Carr, chief communications officer for Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District, told WND the facility will help to preserve Hispanic culture.
"We find that a lot of kids who go there have parents who might be English-speaking immigrants, and they might be very successful," she said. "They fear that their kids might be losing some of the culture or not getting the fluency in the language because they speak English at home."
Carr said one of the top executives with AT&T is Hispanic and sends his children to the school.
"Obviously they are very fluent, well-educated in English, legal citizens," she said. "They're sending their kids there because they want them to have exposure to their native language."
Collinswood Dual Language Academy already provides a K-5 "language immersion program." The school began with a total Spanish curriculum. According to a brochure to promote the Spanish services, "In this dual language program, kindergarteners spend 85% of the instructional day learning the curriculum in Spanish and 15% of the day learning in English."
Carr said the program places equal emphasis on fluency in English and Spanish, but according to a program brochure, Collinswood teachers provide instruction in Spanish while introducing English words. Texts are provided in Spanish as well.
When students reach the first grade, they spend more than half the day learning in Spanish only. Homework is allowed to be completed in either language.

McCain advisor is Mexico's former Mexicans Abroad Director
McCain's "Hispanic Outreach Director", Juan Hernandez, is the same guy who was a close advisor to Mexico's President Vicente Fox! Hernandez headed up a Mexican bureaucracy called the "Presidential Office for Mexicans Abroad." It was designed to allow Hernandez to travel across the country, meddling with local, state, and federal immigration enforcement on behalf of millions of illegal aliens in America. Prior to aligning with the campaign staff, Hernandez has been serving in McCain's Reform Institute as a Senior Fellow of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Initiative.
Hernandez has worked for years lobbying U.S. governors to issue drivers' licenses to illegal aliens living in their respective states. While in his official role for the Mexican government, he pressured Western Union to lower or drop altogether their fees for wire transfers for illegal aliens sending money back home to Mexico.
Hernandez is an ardent supporter of the re-conquest by Mexico of the American Southwest, and hosted lectures on the subject at the Center for U.S.-Mexico Studies in Dallas which he founded in 1995. He once told Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) that the North American Southwest "is not two countries, it's just a region."
U.S. born dual citizen Juan Hernandez is notorious for having said of Mexican Americans on Nightline on June 7, 2001, "I want the third generation, the seventh generation, I want them all to think Mexico first."
Does John McCain agree that they should always "think Mexico first?" With Hernandez as his "Hispanic Outreach Director", who began serving last year, I don't think there is any question. Is there any reason that anyone should think open borders fanatic Dr. Hernandez wants President McCain to secure the border? Is there any reason that anyone should trust a man to secure the border if he is getting his "Hispanic Outreach" advice from Dr. Juan Hernandez? Is there any reason why anyone should not think that John McCain is committed to giving amnesty to the 20 million illegal aliens in America?
Hernandez also said to the Associated Press in 2001, "I never knew the border as a limitation. I'd be delighted if all of us could come and go between these two marvelous countries."
Two poignant quotes below are from Hernandez's 2007 (propaganda) book, "The New American Pioneers":
"There are twenty million people, like myself, who have one foot in Mexico and one foot in the United States, and we're very proud of it."
"We must not only have a free flow of goods and services, but also start working for a free flow of people."
Be aware John McCain supporters. One of his closest advisors is a former Mexico cabinet member. As well as a globalist, open borders, illegal alien advocate, amnesty demanding dual citizen with his allegiance given to Mexico.

Yeah, I Lied About Illegal Immigration To Get The Nomination. So What?
"I was proud to work for Comprehensive Immigration Reform and If I am elected President I assure you that in 2009 I will ask Congress to pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform."

As a Citizen of the United States, I am urging you to join with other American Citizens in urging our elected representatives to join with those that are supporting H.R. 4987, The Fence by Date Certain Act-leading to the construction of a 700 mile double-layered fence that enhances our national security and provides the first step in comprehensive immigration reform.
The Secure Fence Act of 2006 was a fair and necessary step in securing our borders. Unfortunately, due to devious actions taken by certain elected officials, the Secure Fence Act has been weakened and all but terminated. America is under assault from illegal aliens and terrorists who seek to destroy our great nation. The American people have demanded a double-layered secure fence, and we are frustrated that the federal government is not listening to its constituents.
Worse yet, our next President, be it Obama or McCain are both horribly lax on border security as can be seen by their voting history on this issue.
The future of America is under assault and the invasion must be stopped. Illegal entry is a threat to the United States economy, American jobs, and the safety and well-being of the American people. A permanent solution is necessary.
This is it. If we are ever to see a real border fence securing our borders, grassroots Americans must respond in force, right now!
This solution is not solely a Democratic or a Republican issue, it is an American issue. The American borders are falling apart and it is time to protect our borders. Contact your House Representative and two Senators and demand they co-sponsor H.R. 4987, The Fence by Date Certain Act.

There is no doubt that in order to win this election the candidate must be in support of a 'comprehensive immigration reform', otherwise the hispanics and other minorities will not vote for the candidate. McCain, who was a leader comprehensive reform last year, has backtracked and is saying that a fence has to in place before comprehensive reform can begin. This statement is practically an insult to those desiring reform because it may take many years for a fence to be built if ever. The government has been trying to build a fence of 700 miles and only plans to complete it in 2010. Imagine how long it would take to put up a real border fence. There are probably 15 million illegal alines many having lived here over 10 years and their family and friends will not wait for a fantasy of a secure border. If McCain does not affirmatively stand behind acomprehensive immigration reform, he will surely not become president.

Its hard to argue that either candidate understands or respect the will of the American people on enforcing our immigration laws. Both candidates are a product of their party committees, and do not reflect the genuine concerns of America's Citizens. Plain and simple, both Obama and McCain have been bought out by self serving lobbyists and cheap labor interests.
Rather than spend much more time trying to convince either candidate to get right with America's Citizens, voters should focus on turning pro-amnesty legislators out of office, regardless of their party affiliation. In order to minimize the negative consequences of either an Obama or a McCain presidency, we should focus on marginalizing the ability to force dangerously misguided comprehensive reforms (amnesty) down our throats. By identifying and electing pro-enforcement House and Senate members, we the people can blunt some if not all their efforts to undermine enforcement and usurp our will. If you happen to be in a district where there is no "pro-enforcement" candidate, where both parties candidates support amnesty, then you must work hard to unseat the incumbent, regardless of their party affiliation. By changing the balance of power in Congress we can send a message that both parties will be forced to recognize. Both parties must accept the fact that marginal victories do not correlate to any sort of "public mandate" for their egregious amnesty and guest worker programs. We the people shouted down the failed McCain/Kennedy amnesty, and subsequently, John McCain asserted (apparently wrongly) the he got the message "loud and clear". Senator McCain is apparently senile as he seems to have forgotten entirely about his "loud and clear" reception and his promise to secure the borders. Given Congress's abysmal approval ratings (lower than President Bush's approval ratings) there may never be a better time for American's to assert their will and send these incumbents home with their tails between their legs. Indeed, never re-elect anybody may be the best voting philosophy for the next few decades, at least until politicians are once again willing to accept that they work for us!

He also knows that large part of the Rep base are bigots who know that at even wages most employers would still hire the undocs. He need to do what pols never like doing. Choose. Going to secret meets, kind of makes you think he knows many in his party are dumb still he needs them to vote for him

Both presumptive Senator Obama, McCain and then House Speaker Pelosi have a lot to answer for, regarding to illegal immigration.. Their idea of Comprehensive Amnesty last March would have helped to bankrupt the country. Because what illegal aliens cannot get in benefits now, such as free health care, education and a host of benefits from both federal and state programs, they would have inherited after getting legal status. Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter are not like the political party members above, as they want the borders fence built according to the original plan and certainly no path to instant citizenship. Tancredo would eradicate the misinterpreted birthright law and stop all free welfare benefits to illegal foreign nationals.
Even as I speak the House Appropriations Committee today (today) will be deciding how the federal government enforces immigration laws. 202-224-3121 We must demand the border fence constructed according to Duncan Hunters 'Secure border fence act (2008), reluctant Democrats must endorse the Federal SAVE ACT (4088) We must insist on full funding for (ICE) and no gutting of any programs. NUMBERS.

Sorry for that guy AngriestDog...I like the Latin Americans BUT, they should come into the country legally. The U.S. is not Latin America. People come to the U.S. to get away from inept and unfair Latin American governments. So, yeah, amigos, you're all welcome, but legally, not illegally. It's not surprising that McCain is soft on immigration as he himself was born in Panama.
