Clinton Asks Latino Leaders to Back Obama
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) tells members of NALEO to support Barack Obama's presidential campaign.
By Ed O'Keefe
Hillary Clinton, playing the role of good Democratic soldier, asked a key group of Latino leaders today to adapt their support of her campaign to Barack Obama's candidacy.
"I look forward to traveling around this country and seeing so many of you again," Clinton told a luncheon hosted by the National Association of Latino Elected Officials.
"Your support sustained me, your votes strengthened my campaign, and your passionate engagement moved our nation forward. I don't want to see that forgotten or overlooked. I want to see participation among Latino voters to continue."
The New York senator entered the Renaissance Hotel ballroom in Washington, D.C., to a loud standing ovation, and -- in a visual demonstration of her Latino support -- was escorted on stage by Reps. Hilda Solis (D-Calif.), Ruben Hinojosa, Joe Baca and activist Dolores Huerta. All four campaigned with the senator during the primaries.
"I know Senator Obama. I have served with him now for nearly four years in the Senate. I campaigned with him for more than 16 months on the campaign trail. I have stood on stage with him in 22 debates -- but who's counting?" she said.
"I know that this was a hard-fought primary campaign, and I'm very grateful for the passion and determination of everyone who supported me," Clinton said.
"We love you Hillary," a woman in the audience shouted.
"Thank you," Clinton said, as applause erupted.
"But every issue you care about personally, every issue that your constituents care about ... is really at risk," she continued. "We cannot afford four more years of the same. It won't be good for any of us. And therefore we have to be determined to chart a new course, and we cannot do that without electing Senator Obama our president. So that is what I'm going to be working for."
Clinton is scheduled to introduce some of her top financial donors to Obama this evening in Washington, and will join him for a "unity rally" in Unity, N.H. tomorrow. While Obama beats John McCain among Latino voters in recent polls, Clinton regularly bested Obama among Latinos during the primary season.

Latinos do not run America, nor speak for the people. Get over it. Time for change folks and the people, or true Americans of all cultures will indeed speak. Most of these blogs are Gibberish. Americans first, Latinos last.

Nope, aint voting for Obama.
He was missing in action when the Kennedy/McCain bill for immigration reform was being hashed out; we dont know what his stance is with NAFTA, against it as in the primaries, or for it as he is now?
These, among tons of other reasons.

Latinos in California will NOT vote for Obama. We don't trust him because we dont know him. He keeps flip flopping on the issues and will say whatever just to get elected. Hillary is my candidate and will add her name in November. We do not need another "President in Training". Say NO WE CAN'T..

Americans should question the accuracy and validity of the poll information promoted by the mains strean media (MSM). Few bear any resemblance to one of the more reputable pollsters, the Gallop poll
http://www.gallup.com/poll/108388/Gallup-Daily-Obama-McCain-Still-Tied-Now-44.aspx
The effect of polling on campaign contributions has made polling information the subject of much influence.
Find out. Don't let America get foooled again.

Not Fooled said "I know the Democrats need to unify, but Clinton needs to lead the party as the Democratic Nominee if they want to win."
Are you completely retarded? Have you not seen the polls? Have you not seen Obama increasing his lead week after week? Unbelievable stupidity. With that comment, you should be a Republican. Please, go vote for McCain, we don't want idiots on our side.

I chose Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton, because, he is Barack Obama, and not Barack O'Clinton. There are similar and competing ideologies; but to meld the Obama camp and the Hillary camp into a competitive party to take to Denver, therein lies the rub. It cannot be done. Politics makes strange bedfellows, but some things do not mix. Hillary Clinton is well on her way to becoming a billionaire. She can drop $22.5-million and still have money to burn. Does Hillary Clinton worry about the price of gasoline? Is she concerned about the cost of groceries? Does Hillary lose sleep over retirement? Where are all the people who say hooking up with the Clintons was such a good idea? I know what you're thinking. Did Hillary go down 22.5-million or only 20-million? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as Hillary Clinton is the most powerful politician in the world, and would eat your gizzard in a heartbeat, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya: http://theseedsof9-11.com

Democrats who plan to vote for a non-Democrat candidate in November should really consider the consequences of their action by reading the recent 5-4 Supreme Court decisions.
---------
Yes, if you praise the decision to let a child rapist escape the death penalty. The oldest judges are libs, so an Obama win would not change the 5-4 make-up. These same old supreme court talking points have been used for years.

If you don't like Barack Obama, don't vote for him.
It's pretty simple, really.
I am very pleased with the outcome of the primary, and I am celebrating my candidate's success. All you people who are acting so spiteful and nasty won't bring me down.

Do not support Barack Obama. He is an opportunist who changes positions every day. The man has absolutely no principles and is driven only by political considerations. Hillary Clinton has only suspended her campaign and can still be chosen as the nominee. Help us help her join us at:

Who are you kidding? Hillary Clinton has still not released her delegates and only suspended her campaign. The Convention is not until August 26. Everyday people get to know more about Obama. And it is all bad news. I know the Democrats need to unify, but Clinton needs to lead the party as the Democratic Nominee if they want to win.

Actually, the portrait painted by David is in the minority, especially among new immigrants. Of course those firebrand demagogues are able to resonate, that's how they keep getting elected.
The reader is invited to put it to the test: get into an argument with a Chicano about immigration. There's a good chance that they'll eventually make an Aztlan-style comment. That's certainly not true of all, but it is true of many. Try it out.

Latinos are not blacks. The message of the firebrand spokesman and demagogues (in other words - Democrats) - it just doesn't resonate with the Latino community, especially those latino entrepreneurs who've emigrated to the US for the opportunity to succeed. The Hispanic radio shock jocks who call out the mobs to rally against deportation of illegal aliens - they and their supporters are in the minority. You want failed and corrupt socialism - go south of the border. Let's be honest. All of those abuelitas and tios and tias would be deported tomorrow if it wasn't for what they provide to the economy - a willing, hardworking labor force. The big wigs in the restaurant, construction and farm industry want them to stay - and so they stay. The shock jocks and rallies and cries against breaking up families - that's all window dressing.

I have to apologize to the Obama campaign. I was one of the leaders of the Nobama movement, but now I realize I was wrong and Obama is best for America. Ladies, Obama stands behind us and our values while McCain DOES NOT. Even though we all wanted Hillary, it is time to put that behind us and do what is best for America. Support Obama 2008.

Judy wrote: "don't believe that the women who were 'Hillary followers' during the primary election will turn their back on their basic beliefs and now 'pledge allegiance' to the Republican Party."
The current stat is that one in five Hillary supporters have changed their allegiance to McCain. Regardless of that, Obama is ahead in 6 of 7 polls (tied in the seventh). Even with 20% Clintonites supporting McCain, Obama is expected to win.

I don't believe Hil. There is much to be said about her sincerity in the request for the Latinos to support Obama.I believe that Hillary did not say with positive gusto that Obama should be elected as the next President. Her speech lacked the oomph to indicate that she was not going to try to be that Democrat that she speaks about being put in the WH in 08. I do have faith in many of the Latinos to vote for Obama. Why? We need to bring a change to theAmerican People that we can believe in.

As a Obama supporter from the start..I too had grown to dislike Hillary just as her voters began to dislike Obama but the time of bashing is over. Hillary is one of us plain in simple and its time to give her some respect people. I actually would love to put Hillary on the ticket!

Please, I don't want any of the funds that I sent to support Obama to go to Hillary to pay off her debts, especially not to pay her debt to herself. If she still has a debt to merchants (as they have said) let her pay those debts with more of her personal fortune. The $10 million (of 'her own money') that she put towards her primary campaign is a miniscule amount of her fortune. (The Clinton fortune was revealed during the primary.)
I certainly hope that the Obama campaign CEO's do not feel 'held hostage' to give Hillary funds, or even worse than that, the VP position.
I don't believe that the women who were 'Hillary followers' during the primary election will turn their back on their basic beliefs and now 'pledge allegiance' to the Republican Party. There's too much at stake, considering women's rights. Women do not want Rowe VS Wade to be overturned, by a possible Republican supreme court appointment.

Now for the things Ed O'Keefe "forgot" to tell you:
1. NALEO has a relatively minor link to the MexicanGovernment: they select the nominees for an award that that government gives out to those inside the U.S. who push that government's agenda the best.
2. JoeBaca has links to a college prof who wrote a book called "OccupiedAztlan".
3. Hinojosa wants the Feds to give millions to the NCLR:
http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/006728.html
4. Last but by no means least, DoloresHuerta is a real piece of work:
http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007587.html
See her comments at that link and then, if you get a chance, ask Hillary whether she really wants to be associated with someone like that. Ed O'Keefe doesn't have the chops to do something like that, so we have to do it.

I agree, that first sentence is biased. But Obama needs the Latino base and its good to see Clinton helping him out. We need to get as many votes as possible to change things. Help elect Obama, go to WhyObama08.org.

Why should voters support someone who is not consistent with what he said and is prejudiced against people with different-religions, Muslims, and different-colors?

Obama is a unifier; he will do away with the divisionism, altercations and alienations of the past, bringing Caucasians, Asians, Latinos, Native Americans and all other forgotten ethnicities into the limelight, guiding them towards a shared glory of the American dream. Who would have believed that someone from the humblest of backgrounds, with African and Caucasian heritage as well as Asian parentage could be so close to seizing the reins of the highest office of government in the USA? Martin Luther King's dream is finally realty; we have reached an era where a man is no longer judged by the color of his skin but the content of his character. Can you believe this is happening in our very lifetime?
Go Obama Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 2008 will be the new dawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
